Crashes when listening to music

Since a couple of months ago, I can't listen to music with Itunes because it keeps crashing after 1 to 3 songs playing. I'm keeping either my system or my Itunes updated and nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

Hi annietar,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with iTunes.   The article below will suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the iTunes application.
Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue
If this issue is with content in your iTunes library, if you have a Time Machine backup, you could restore the library from an earlier date.
Click on the link below to see more details and screenshots.
I've quoted some helpful highlights for you:
Mac Basics: Time Machine
With Time Machine you can go "back in time" to restore files, versions of files, or your entire system.
You can use the timeline on the right side of the window to reach a certain point back in time (the timeline shows the times of all backups on your backup drive). If you don’t know exactly when you deleted or changed a file, you can use the back arrow to let Time Machine automatically travel through time to show you when that folder last changed.
Note: Dates in pink indicate the data resides on your Time Machine backup device. Dates in white indicate the data resides on your Mac. In OS X Mountain Lion and Lion, portable Macs have the feature of local snapshots. See this article for details.
To restore, select the file/folder and click the "Restore" button. The file will automatically be copied to the desktop or appropriate folder.  If the file you are restoring has another file in the same location with the same name, you will be prompted to choose which file to keep or keep both.
I hope this information helps ....
Have a great day!

  • Lumia 920 crash when listening to music

    Hi,
My Nokia Lumia 920, windows 8 mobile keeps crashing when I listen to music from "Nokia Music". I usually use nokia-provided headsets when listening to music. In recent times the crash has become more frequent. When listening to music, the handset just reboots without any notification.
Is there a place I could look at the crash dump and submit it as an issue ?
    OS Version: 8.0.10211.201

have you tried a soft reset? i'm not talking about what you think might or might not work, i'm talking about trying it. it doesn't wipe any data. if it still doesn't work, then you may need to perform a hard reset (Settings > About > Reset your phone), which will wipe everything, so please make a backup to PC and/or online storage of your data first.
failing that, you will need to take your phone to your Nokia Care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support

  • ITunes 11.1.2 Crashes When Listening to Music (External HD)

I have my entire iTunes Media Library on a Western Digital External HD. I've never had any issues with iTunes interacting with the External HD. Since installing iTunes 11.1.2 (Mavericks), iTunes crashes after listening to 10 minutes of music. If iTunes is just open (no media is playing) it will not crash. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Ok, an update, iTunes just crashes randomly, nothing to do with streaming to Apple TV. However, my MacBook Air runs exactly the same software on Maverick and no problem at all, works smoothly. Is is something iMac related? Anybody experiences the same?

  • ITunes crashing when listening to music previews

Has anyone else experienced this problem. I have no problems accessing the Music Store - even if it is slower then usual - but everytime I try to listen to a song preview my iTunes crash. I'm not totally sure, but I believe the problems started with iTunes 7.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I have the same problems. Before i tunes 7 everything worked fine. Now it takes ages to listen to one song. I get messages like re buffering or network stalled. I tried everything that Apple suggested but nothing worked. I also have a pretty fast broadband connection.

for some reason , when i restore my iphone 4s to factory settings my headphones work when listening to music or youtube videos but when i backup my information onto it , it only comes out of one ear bud and i just got a new one from the apple store. my old iphone 4s audio jack was messed up but i just got a new one with my warranty , can anyone help me please.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

  • When listening to music on ATV, it plays two songs from the playlist, then won't play any more.  You can see playlist and songs, but won't respond.  Any ideas?

When listening to music on ATV, it will play two songs from the playlist, then no more.  You can see the playlist on songs, but it won't play.  Turned everything off, reset the network...nothing works.  Any ideas?  It used to play fine...for hours at a time.

    Hi.  Thanks for your reply.
It is happening via "shuffle" in a playlist.  Always two different songs within the playlist.  You can see the next song on the screen that should, theoretically, be playing...but nothing happens.  Even when you push "play" on the remote, it doesn't receive the command.
I reset, then restored ATV.  Now, it doesn't limit itself to two songs, but does stop after a few.  The more trial and error I do, the more I believe the problem is with Homesharing in iTunes.  If I turn off Homeshare, then turn it back on, a couple more songs will play in the playlist.  I have shut down iTunes, restarted computer, completed updates, but nothing seems to change it.
It used to play fine for hours on end, but has now found this glitch.

  • Sometimes when listening to music or a podcast, it will stop and start in rapid fire.  I have a 4th gen iPod Touch.

Sometimes when listening to music or a podcast, it will stop and start in rapid fire.  I have a 4th gen iPod Touch.  A Genius suggested something went wrong during the transfer from my MBP to my iPod, but I tried resyncing it, and it seems to happen haphazardly.  Even if a podcast plays oddly one time, it might play perfect the next - so it can't have been the sync that went bad.

    - First try a reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next restore from backup
    - The restore to factory defaults/new iPod

  • Iphone 5s overheats when listening to music

my iphon 5s overheats when listening to music sometimes after only 2 or 3 songs.
i took it into the apple store they gave me a new phone after seeing there was 5 overheating notifications.
now it happened again on my new phone. i heard something about disabeling syncing between icloud and safari. will this work?

    Welcome to the discussions,
did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again? If still no change, a restore "as new iphone" would be the next step. In that case don't use your backup to get your data back, it may contain damaged files causing your problem.

When listening to music on my iPhone 4S, the music stops when the screen fades. I am not using my earphones. Can someone suggest some ear buds that will work with my iPhone4S? The Apple ones do not fit...too small.

  • Is anyone else having sound cracking in their ipad 3 like static when listening to music if so what's going on?

Lately my ipad 3 has been sounding horrible when listening to music and videos its like static or cracking what's going on someone please help me I don't wanna make a trip to the apple store if other people are having the same problem !

I have the same problem with my new iPhone 4s in a new BMW 328i.  My old iPhone 3GS, iPad touch and Zune have no problem with aux.

  • Updated to 4.4 and now my Bluetooth 'studders' when listening to music and a phone call. Yes I have reset the phone and removed the battery.

I just updated my Note 3 to 4.4.2. Since then when I listen to music or make a call on my Bluetooth my music and calls 'studders' and has some type of 'drop-outs' during the music and calls. This was not the case prior to the update.
Yes, I have power down the phone. Yes, I have removed the battery and restarted the phone. My Bluetooth headset is an LG 730. I tried listening to music on my other Bluetooth devices and they also 'studders' and has drop-outs during calls and music. I connected with a wired headset and the 'studdering' disappeared.
Is there a way to revert back to the previous 4.3 version of Android. I use my phone extensively for business and drive with it. The law for my state requires 'hands free' usage of my phone.

Unfortunately, I was forced to do a factory Reset. This wiped the device to a new state.
Afterwards all Blue-tooth, wi-fi and calls operated fine.
I would advise that you notify your customers that they would most likely have to do a Factory Reset once they update their device.
All contacts, pictures, data and applications were either lost or had to be reinstalled.

  • Itunes 11.1.5.5 crashes when playing a Music Video

Itunes 11.1.5.5 crashes when trying to play back one specific video that was purchased through ITunes. It played once just fine. Now it crashes Itunes with every attempt at playback. Other previously purchased music videos play just fine. Any suggestions? Even a backup copy has the same effect.
As a side note: With the same video on a 4th Generation Ipod Touch, The slider can be seen counting through the video, but there is no audio and only a dark screen. Yet, other purchased videos play just fine. Also, the crash occured on the previous version of Itunes.
Itunes 11.1.5.5 Running on Windows 8.1 with the current version of Apple's video player software (that I can't remember the name of although I have just updated it and Itunes).

Apple support seems to know nothing about why iTunes 11.1.5 has this problem.
Anybody know how to roll back to 11.1.4? The problem didn't exist there.
