Crashing computer - please help

Every so often, my computer crashes. If I'm using i-Tunes at the time, it kind of 'restores' it to it's original state - i.e. blank with no songs on it. This isn't a problem as i can easily import all my music that I have backed up on a separate hard-drive. However, the problem is that when i plug in my i-Pod, the 'new' version of i-Tunes doesn't recognise it, and therefore wants to erase my whole 80GB i-Pod and re-sync all the same songs that it has just deleted. I have so much music, that last time it took 62 hours to re-sync the i-Pod. I know I can 'manually sync' all my music, but I don't want to constantly have to do this. Is there a way that I can get i-Tunes to recognise my i-Pod again?

When turning on the computer, try holding down the power button until you hear several beeps in quick succession. This appears to boot the MacBook in a processor speed limited mode (~1GHz). This will keep the computer cooler & hopefully allow you to get past the random shutdown problem temporarily. With that said, you really should get the computer into Apple for service as soon as possible.
I had the same problem with my Macbook. There appears to have been an issue with the original design of the heat sink for the microprocessor. I sent my Macbook in for repair a couple of weeks ago, and Apple replaced the heat sink. The Macbook has been working well since the repair.
Either call Applecare, or take it into an Authorized Apple store/repair center. In either case, it will need to go in for repair.
My repair took about a week (heatsink was on backorder). I've had other repair work done by Apple (other computers I've owned). Excluding the wait for the backordered Heatsink, My experience has been a turn-around time (excluding shipping) of < 48hours.

Adobe CS4 crashing computer, Please Help!

Last week I purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro from Apple, spent the weekend transferring all my files over so I could be ready for work this week. I made sure to do a clean install of Adobe CS4, rather than pulling it over from my old computer with Migration Assistant. I went through and updated everything I could. Even so, my computer has completely crashed 4 times today while working in Adobe CS4 (screen goes completely black, have to hold down the power button to restart). From my research, I thought that Adobe and Apple had straightened everything out with Snow Leopard and CS4, but it doesn't seem so for me. Is there anything I can do here to fix this issue? Just FYI, I did try to use the migration assistant from my old macbook pro (OS 10.4, Core 2 Duo 2.16ghz) and it would freeze with 22 minutes left. I ended up going in and having to delete the username, and manually pull over the files I needed from my old computer. I've always had good upgrade experiences with apple products, but the past 4 days have been incredibly frustrating. Things seem to be far less painless than they used to be... Any help/advice is very much appreciated!

An update to the issue posted. 5 minutes after I got done posting this topic, the computer hard crashed again. I wasn't running any Adobe CS4 programs, only Safari. I was opening the top-sites page in safari when it happened. So now I'm officially even more confused and frustrated. Once again, here is the crash report. Tonight I may wipe the computer and just start over. I have no idea what else to do.

You can contact Apple Support and ask them the reason of Declining your Payment, There are chances that your Bank might not be releasing the payment or something like that due to which you are getting Payment Declined Message. The Best of option is to contact your Bank or you can contact Apple and ask them the reason.

touchscreen don't need driver
go to device manager, find Human Interface Device, find HID-compliant touchscreen (maybe under USB input device), try to enable it, click yes and restart PC
If not solved, try to perfrom system restore (back to condition when this PC working fine)

if yes, what files (names/extensions) and what sizes?
if no, copy your cd contents to a desktop folder and attempt to install from the desktop folder.

Double click on the file and it will open in the Console. Copy and Paste it in here. Just the first 50 or so lines is enough

Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

You need to update your video drivers to attempt to resolve the problem. You can get the latest generic Intel video drivers here: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24973/a08/win64_153336.zip If you are unable to run the setup due to it barking about incompatibility, you will need to force update the drivers using Device Manager and browsing to the driver folder in this package (ignoring any warnings).

Boot Camp Crashed my computer Please help

I was trying to run boot camp so that I could install windows xp. Everything was going well until windows xp went in a circle. It would not load! I had to turn off the computer and restart it. I tried to hold down the alt/ option button to load the mac partition, but it doesn't exist. I then put in the original OS X cd and held down C. I tried to go into disk utility and format the drive but it says it's lock. I cannot do anything with my new lap top, please help

I did the same thing, i used bootcamp and did ntsf and set it to 120 and left the rest for mac partition and them durring the install of windows it said error please restart and the all i go was a black sceen with dos blinker, and if i put in osx dvd and use disk utility it all dimmed out and shows unformatted on the mac partitin and ntsf on the windows partition. apple didnt help at all, i went to the manhatten store this October 3 at 1030am and was treated like dirt, i even have warrenty and the manager pretty much told me "well why dont you go back to the fashion iland store". I will tell you one thing, apple makes really nice stuff thats really expensive but when it goes bad they just put all the expense on you and throw you to the curb.. i was told to try disk worrior 4, its suppost to recover and rebuild your drive so you dont have to reinstall the os and take a loss of data...

FIrefox continues to crash on me and I have no idea what to do at this point. I am running version 19 on Windows 8. I got a new computer about 2 weeks ago and have virtually the same set up I had on the old one... same extensions and everything. Only difference is the old computer ran windows 7 where this one runs windows 8.
I have taken the following steps
-Run in safemode (still crashes, so I don't think addons or extensions are the issue)
-Did a Firefox reset
-Restarted the computer
-Running a new user profile
-Scanning for malware (came back clean).

Again, I don't think this is the issue because it crashes in safemode as well, but I'm running the following addons: Adblock Plus, Greasemonkey, ProfilePassword, Download status bar... I'm also running 1 user script: ICE Quick Stream 5.6. These all have worked fine previously.
If I can't switch this I'm switching to Chrome and I don't want to. Please help!

MASSIVE OS X Server crashing! Please help me! SMB crashes and kills OSXS

OSX Srvr 10.4.7 on a Mac Pro. I dont know what I did or missed versus every other server I've ever done, but I've got a major problem on my hands. Once a day my users have their access shut off, and i have to re-enable them. Every other morning, smb will crash so hard it kicks everyone off, then workgroup mgr won't respond anymore, and i have to hard power off the computer. This is running my company of roughly 23 users, and this replaced a Windows Server 2003. Not a good impression so far. I have logs I'm happy to post or email to anyone. They're huge, so I've obviously loused something up big time.
We're doing simple Windows file Sharing, Apple File Sharing, VPN, and eventually FTP. It's also running Kerio Mail Server. Someone please help me!

First please note:

Your first issue is you need to fix DNS.
Something needs to be providing forward and reverse DNS lookup for your OS X Server.
You might not have known this, but now you do: OS X Server -must- have working DNS. You don't need to run DNS on your OS X Server, but it needs working DNS.
DNS configuration is a bit beyond the scope of this reply, however.
In the meantime, edit /etc/hosts and do not touch any existing entries
but add the following line:
192.168.200.250 Genesis1
and kill -HUP lookupd. If you're not sure how, perhaps just restart the computer.
Next up, edit
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/smbd.plist , adding the line in bold below:
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/usr/sbin/smbd</string>
<string>-F</string>
</array>
Of course, the text in the file itself should NOT be "bold" formatted
Be very sure to check the permissions on that file, and to leave them the same, or restore them if they change. It's really best to use nano/vi/emacs to edit the file, if you must use a GUI app, then go with TextWrangler or SubEthaEdit, both of which can be found at versiontracker.com

Recovering Indesign files on a uni computer - please help !!

Hi my indesign keeps crashing how do i recover my files ?! I'm on a university computer so there is no recovery folder, but the file defiantly does exist as it flashes up for a second before indesign crashes again (upon opening in design and clicking yes to recover data) Please help !!!! There is ALWAYS a recovery folder....
But without a lot more info there's not much we can do for you. You must have a user account, with a user profile or user library stored someplace, probably on a server.
