Crashing due to ProCore plug-in

Question

Greetings
My first post. I’m a junior-ish user of FCP and Motion. Problem: FCP crashes while rendering a finished project. It will execute slowly for an hour or so and then quit. The dialog box says: “The problem may have been caused by the ProCore plug-in.” I tried rendering smaller sections instead of the entire piece, and that works. I then tried increasing the size (the temporal length in timeline) of the section for rendering, but FCP went back to quitting unexpectedly and reporting the ProCore plug-in again as a possible cause.
I have searched discussions and the web for mention of the ProCore plug-in, but found nothing. I did try repairing the hd from the CD (no problems found); repaired permissions and zapped the PRAM, set FCP Sequence Settings Master Templates & Motion Projects quality to normal and deselected Always Use Best Quality, but the problem persists.
I have AppleCare, but I wanted to try this braintrust first.
MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz, OSX 10.5.1, 4 GB, Lacie 160 GB external drive.
The project is about 6 video tracks deep, six minutes long, consisting of still images, motion graphics and animated type from Motion. Lots of transitions and filters.
