Crashing on export to H.264
I am just getting my feet wet with Motion and have suddenly started experiencing an export issue.
I am putting together some 1 and 2 second motion theme graphics for a trade show. Nothing at all fancy. Just a few basic moves using mostly imported layers of a Photoshop file.
The first few exported fine. I used H.264 compression so I could email the files to people. However the last two have crashed Motion on export. There is motion on four separate elements but only a rotate here and a fade-in there. Nothing crazy. The weird thing is that I CAN export to Apple's 4444 without crashing. I end up with a file over 100 megs but I do have a file. It gets ftp'ed instead of email but at least people can see it.
But really, why do you suppose this is happening? As you can see in my profile, I have a brand new iMac quad i7. It's not like I'm running a piece of junk here. I see no reason that it couldn't handle something so simple.
BTW I just went back to one of the "simpler" animations that DID get exported to H.264 and once again it DID export without a hitch.
well it might not fix your problem, but there are a couple of things to try. If you can export a prorez 444, then import that into compressor and export an h264. You can also try importing the motion project into fcp, drop it on a timeline and Send to compressor form there. I sometimes seem to get different results this way. The other thing to try is to copy the h264 preset you're using in compressor and to fiddle with the settings. it might be a corrupted settings file somewhere.
You might as well throw the preferences for motion and compressor away. lastly you might try turning layers off in your motion project, see if you can narrow it down to a specific item. It could be a corrupted file, or perhaps some layer becoming too big for your graphics card. You could try turning on fixed resolution for any suspect layers.

Premiere pro CS6.0.3 keeps crashing when exporting to H.264
Good day everyone,
I am trying to export my timeline using some of the H.264 setting and it keeps crashing on me. Not all of the H.264 like the Apple and Android settings. Those work fine. But trying to export to H.264 Youtube (any presets), H.264 HD 1080I 29.97 and HD 1080P 29.97 it will process to around 80%-95% than crash. It gives me an error message than gives me three files that can help with finding the problem.
I have tried to export using Premiere and also AME. They both crash at the same point.
I have tried creating new projects, new sequences and such. No luck.
Currently I am using Premiere Pro CS6.03, Adobe Media Encoder CS 6.03 as well. Windows 7 64bit, Intel Core [email protected] with 8GB ram. My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670. Any advice would be most helpful and appreciated.
ThanksI solved what might be a similar problem last evening by lowering the speed of my i7-3055K (nominal 3.9GHz) to 4.2GHz from 4.5GHz.
My symptoms were similar: new PC build (10 days old); crashing or blue screens about 1 minute into a 3 minute Premiere export or AME render, Win7 Pro. The system had previously been very stable. At first I suspected an H264 codec problem or an iTunes/Quicktime incompatibility but when an AVI render using the NTSC DV Widescreen preset crashed it broadened my search for solutions. Mercury GPU render on/off did not fix the crash problem.
The render last evening was probably the first time that my new CPU was seriously stressed. Lowering the CPU speed was the quick solution. Overclocking sites/forums probably have tips on stress tests, memory tests, voltage tweaking, etc but as long as the system is stable I'll probably be satisified with the slower CPU solution.
The CPU cooling is the Intel stock fan. 32GB of Corsair memory is running at its rated PC1600. CPU and memory voltages are the defaults, i.e., no tweaking. Intel DZ77RE-75K motherboard. EVGA GTX680 FTW+ 4GB at its defaults, i.e., no overclocking/tweaking. 1000 watt power supply , which is probably overkill but it's what I had lying around (I have an almost identical setup (GTX460 rather than GTX680) which runs fine at 4.2GHz with a 700-watt PSU -- but I've never stressed that 2nd PC with an Premiere/AE/AME render). -
Quicktime Crashes on export to h.264 on xp
I am trying to export a 2 min movie to h.264 in QT. I get a far as the movie Settings for Movie to Quick Time Movie and when ever i click on the Setting button QT shuts down. It will not let me change the settings, I've updated my machines drivers and still unable. I was wondering if it was because the registration code I have is one that I purchased 2 - 3 versions ago. Could that be it??
I am having the SAME problem. Two different new Dell Lattitude laptops (630 & 830), with XP pro. Newest version of QT and 6.4, both do the same thing, crash whenever the "settings" button is clicked when exporting. Two attempts with factory installed XP and two with new XP install from official MS disc.
Closest info I got was last night on QT 7.xx "Buffer Overrun", crash.
Both Dell laptops have stock nVidia video hardware.
Same software installs work fine on an IBM T-30 laptop, Dell desktop and a Toshiba laptop.
???????? help?

Premiere Pro and Media Encoder CC Crash when exporting to h.264...
Anybody have any idea why something like this might happen?
Also, our adobe creative cloud download center that is linked to our desktop doesn't show up anymore. The frame for it initializes but there are no options in it and the settings panel won't even let us log in.
Very confused. Can't help with the Cloud questions... but Premiere Pro has a dedicated forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere?view=discussions
When you ask your PPro questions there, the information you need to provide when you ask a question... PPro Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840 -
Premiere and Media Encoder Crashing During Export of Quicktime Files
Premiere CC and Media Encoder CC crashes when exporting Quicktime H.264 files. Sometimes the export will work, sometimes it crashes the app. After crashing, the app will freeze while loading "ExporterQuictimeHost.bundle" and requires a hard re-boot of the system to startup again.
I have tried removing some Quicktime codecs from the Quicktime library folder, as suggested in other threads. This has not solved the problem.
I am editing with Quicktime ProRes 4444 files.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Here's some system info:
Mac Pro Mid 2010
OS X 10.9.4
2 x 2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
36 GB Memory
NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 1536MB
Blackmagic DeckLink HD Extreme
Cuda Driver Version 6.5.14
Creative Cloud CC 2014I'm having similar problems. I can't export anything now...either from Premiere or from Media Encoder. My sequence is ProRes HQ, I am exporting using sequence settings.
It gets about 75% of the way through and bails with this error message:
Export Error
Error compiling movie.
Unknown error.
That's really helpful. Addtionally, when I tried to export out of Media Encoder, I was greeted by an extremely loud bleating goat noise when it failed. Nice. I had a room full of clients. Thanks Adobe.
I'm seriously doubting the claim of "Pro" at this point.
This was not beta tested with a ****. -
Media encoder crashing when exporting h.264
I have a short 1:30 project I'd like to export using the h.264 codec. The project is made up of [email protected] h.264 quicktimes shot on a Canon 1DmkIV. If I export to h.264 using either the 720p or 1080p presets the Media Encoder will do two render passes then crash with an "Unknown Error". This will happen if I export h.264 or as a quicktime using the h.264. Strangely if I export as h.264 bluray it works fine but then the audio and video are seperate and not what I need if I intend to upload to Vimeo. I can successfuly export to other codecs.
I've clicked through premierepro.wikia.com but couldn't seem to find any answers. Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks in advance,
FYI
Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 v.3.2.0 (374)
Windows XP SP3
Intel E6850 Duo Core @3Ghz
4Gb RAM
nVidia 8800GTX
Soundblaster X-FiOk, that worked but Media Encoder wouldn't render out with TS checked using PCM audio, I had to change to Dolby Digital. Once rendered and uploaded to Vimeo the image was displayed as 4:3 but with the anamorphic vertical squeeze even though I was using the 1080p24 preset. <shrug>
I'm wondering if it is the Mainconcept codec that's buggy. Is there an alternative h.264 codec to use with Premiere CS3? -
PP cc 2014 crashes when exporting files to H.264
I have a very simple file. It only has a mp3 file, (a hour ) and a few files in it. But it will not export the file. Media Encoder crashes also.
I seems Premiere Pro CC 2014 is a piece of crap. Heck I cannot even play the mp3 file in PP without it crashing at times. Please help! What is wrong? I have 9gb of RAM.Thanks for the response. For now it seems I have worked around the problem. I was thinking It could be my graphics card. The one I have is not the best. only has 512mb VRAM. The way I worked around it is kind of a long story but I will do my best to explain.
At first I had Adobe look at it and he decided it was the images that I was using. The problem started when I updated Premiere Pro. However at the same time I upgraded I started a new project and I was using several images from this one website.
But I recently rebuilt my computer. So everything is fresh and new. And all re-installed.(I do this once a year). So I started another project and got the same problem only this time even changing the encoder to a Quicktime one.did not work, (it worked before).
So i Started the project over and did not add any images, just the audio file. Then I proceeded to add the text for the titles. I was using titles to post what the person was saying in the audio. So I had several titles in the project. No images. and it still crashed on export.
Turns out it appears to be the large number of titles that is causing it to crash. I saved the frames where i had the titles and replace the titles with an image of the title. It exports with no problem. Even though I have a background image that is from this same site as before.
So it appears that Premiere Pro has a problem with too may tiles in the project. So far as long as everything is images it works fine.
But I am going to replace my video card soon. Then I will try the project with titles other than the images of the frames where the titles are. lots less trouble if it will work.
Note: I have other projects that I made before the upgrade that have lots of titles in them also...they export fine.
Hope this helps you understand the problem.
I am trying to produce a video of the book of Psalms with audio and the scriptures on the screen,(titles).
For now, it appears to be a bug in Premiere Pro. It doesn't make sense why too many titles in a project would cause it to crash. -
Final Cut Pro X - Share - Export Media - H.264 - Audio is panned to the left?!
My video has a soundtrack that is a stereo .WAV that I can play in QuickTime with no problem.
I added the .WAV to my FCPX project, exported H.264 of the finished video, and when I play the resulting file in QuickTime, the audio is panned to the left. There is still some stereo separation but it's like the right channel has been turned down. Alternately playing the video and the original .WAV in QuickTime makes it extremely obvious, but it's actually noticeable (and very annoying) even without the comparison.
Does this happen to anyone who exports H.264 via the Share -> Export Media menu item, or is it something in my project? (I didn't do anything to the audio apart from dragging it onto the timeline - I tried deleting the audio and dragging the file back on again but it still ends up panned to the left in the output). It was set to Surround and 48Khz. I set it to Stereo (and 44.1Khz for good measure, as that is the sample rate of my soundtrack) and then re-exported to H.264, and now the audo is perfectly centered.
So that's perfect, thanks.
Now the only thing wrong with FCPX is how it crashes every ten minutes or so! -
Premiere CS6 crashes during export
Hi there,
I am running Premiere Pro CS6 on my (8GB of memory) macbook pro (OSX 10.8.4). New to PP as just switched from FCP. Am trying to export a 2.25hr timeline (rough cut of an indie feature). The files range from ProRes 4444, ProRes 422 HQ, H.264, Jpegs and various audio formats but mostly mp3s (not final quality, just in rough draft mode of the edit). The timeline has 6 video tracks and around 14 audio tracks just in case this makes a difference.
Every time i go to export the file either as h.264 or Prores 422 it renders all the files and then begins the encoding and crashes. Have now tried with Adobe Encoder and tried splitting the film into smaller parts and nothing is working. It crashed less quickly when h.264 was applied to a 20minute clip, but still crashed.
Before the timeline was SO long (2.25hrs) it was exporting 20-30min clips easy.
This is my first time with a complex timeline and i need help trouble shooting this and don't know where to start. Is it my system or corrupted files, or how do you begin to solve such a problem.
Any help is appreciated as i am not technically savvy when it comes to computer errors.
- Oliver
(PS: if it helps to see the error log let me know and i can put it up)Noted re; the log.
Already read over that post prior to posting mine. However my computer is not shutting down, rather Adobe Encoder & Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 are crashing the moment the encoding begins. They render everything up and get ready to Encode. The moment it starts it crashes.
Any thoughts on why this could be happening? -
Computer crashes during export

I am exporting a video with around 500 assets. Mostly photos, some HD video. The export crashes the whole computer at 41 percent. I moved it to a different identical machine and it crashes at 41 percent. I have to restart the whole machine each time.
I've exported as H.264 Vimeo 1080, Quicktime 720, Quicktime 1080.

Crashing during Exporting - I tried to export my sequence containing several clips both in Premier and AME and it keeps crashing - Help Pls.
Thanks for your reply John.
My Premiere Pro is CS5.5 on Windows OS with all the recent updates installed.
My source footage is H.264 in a .mov/QuickTime format.
There were no error message(s) before the crashing. The computer just crashes after a few minutes of exporting. My output codec is also H.264 in a QuickTime movie format.
No other software is running at the time. Also, no third party codecs have been installed.
I'm not sure what type of engine I use. Kindly direct me to where I can find this information.
The problem has only happened with my final output.
Thanks Again.

I can't watch the video full screen, I can't export it! This is the error message I am getting.

Being paranoid doesn't mean they are not after you...
However, just today a co-worker asked for help on his CS4 crashing document. A mere 180 pp., a moderate amount of images and text. A shiny new Mac, with a brand new, freshly installed CS4. Lots of extra RAM -- 4 gigs. Oodles of free disk space available. He forgot to install the 6.0.1 update, but that was soon (>350MB download...) fixed. Oh yeah, and the document started out as a CS3 one.
I went through the recommended motions: IDML -- still crashing. INX (yeah I know -- but he hadn't used any '4 functions yet) -- still crashing. Tried exporting the same document on my PC ... no problem!
Printing to PS and distilling, no problem. So that's the route he finally took and considered it 'solved', but I'm not happy, 'cause we're mass-upgrading all through the office and this sounds as if it could be a recurring prob... -

Indesign getting crash while exporting because of bad pdf inside file.
Hi,
My indesing is getting crash while exporting to pdf. I have link to pdf file inside the indesign file, when i export that indesign file to pdf indesign is getting crash without showing any error message. If i place another pdf file in same location then it is going fine and i can able to get the output pdf file. Please suggest me how can i check and correct that pdf file and is there any solution to this. Please help me i have thousands of indesign pages with the same issue. If you want pdf i can send it to your mail id. please i need fix for this problem.
Thanks
KiranFor all of you lurkers, Kiran sent me a copy of the PDF, and it looks like I found the problem (and learned a new technique which may help others in the same boat).
I tried re-frying the file by creating an eps and distilling, but the result was the same, then I tried exporting from CS3, just for fun, and it worked, but I realized the PDF had been cropped, so I started trying differnt sections and isolated an area that failed, though that wasn't particularly helpful.
Acrobat preflight didn't find anything that looked odd or problematic, and then I decided to run Examine Document. It came up with MetaData (no surprise) and also two items under a heading of Deleted and Cropped objects, with no preview or description. I unselected the MetaData from the list of found stuff, them clicked the Remove button in the Examine Document panel, and resaved (and while you have the opportunity to give it a new name, doing so doesn't remove the stuff untill you do the whole procedure again and save with the same name). Placed the new version of the PDF in a new file and exported no problem. -
