Crashing when "Rendering work area" ?

I worked on a few sequences adding Chroma Key effects (superposing images / video shots).
Following the 'Adobe Premiere CS3 Bible', I finalized by doing : Sequence / Render Work Area, but close to the end of the process, I got two error messages ("Adobe ... encountered an error..." and the program crashed (offered nothing but to close). Fortunately, I had saved the work so when returning, everything seemed to be there as left (with effects).
To bad I did not take time to note the messages (and chosed ''Continue", as an available option).
1) What is the real use (and difference between this and the simple "save" command) of this "rendering work area" ? (Can I slip over this step ?)
2) Any know issues I should look for here ?
Thanks,
Rob

See the section
About previewing sequences in the PPro CS3 Help, to understand what rendering the work area does.
Saving simply saves the project information, not the video information.

My new iMac with FCPX crashes when rendering complex templates and crashes when exporting with Motion 5
Using Motion 5.0.6 and Final Cut Pro X 10.0.7 on New iMac (December 2012)  Mountain Lion,
    Intel Core i7 quad-core a 3,4GHz, Turbo Boost fino a 3,9GHz
    32GB di SDRAM DDR3 a 1600MHz - 4 x 8GB
    Fusion Drive da 3TB
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5
During the rendering of complex FCPX mac crashes and I have to force a restart.
I also happens when I try to export movies with Motion 5.
Does anyone have the same problem with my new iMac?

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
    First, empty the Trash.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it, then drag or copy it — do not type — into the Terminal window:
    find . $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 -o -acl \) 2> /dev/null | wc -l
Press return. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
The output of this command, on a line directly below what you entered, will be a number such as "35." Please post it in a reply.

  • Crashes when rendering /Realtek drivr problem

    hi,
love 6.5 then 7 but Pro is driving me potty... My system keeps crashing when rendering and also - or maybe becaused of?! - I keep getting 'can't playback audio / audio inputs are deactivated / adobe default sound drivers are in half duplex mode'. Are these problems linked? I've built up a large project - if I reinstall Pro will I lose it? I know I can't open it in 7.0 - pity! All help appreciated thankyou.
Ps ram is not a problem. I'm on vista.

    Try this:
    Support:kb402308 Realtek HD Audio

  • Speed Grade Crashes when rendering

SpeedGrade crashes on me when I try to render graded footage to an h.264 file.  I have tried both mts footage from the canon xh-a1 that has been converted to quicktime as well as footage straight out of the 5D Mark 2.  I can grade the footage, but every time I try to render the footage I get, 100% render completion and then SpeedGrade crashes.  Also no file is ever created from the output. Very Frustrating.  Any thoughts on what could be the problem.
    Thanks

I have been using the English version and It crashes all the same.

Thank you for sending the crash report. This is a known issue and only affects Italian builds. We have isolated this and working on a fix. Please stay tuned and use an English version of SpeedGrade in the meantime. Thanks

  • Mail.app crashes when certain messages are selected

I recently migrated a user from OS X 10.4 to 10.5. When we run Mail.app, it will crash when certain messages are clicked.
I've tried everything I could to get the mail in in a different way -- importing it in different ways, deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist, and re-importing, etc.
It certainly seems that the problem is tied to the individual message, as clicking on a certain message, even if it is in different folders (because of the way it was imported) causes the crash.
Most of the dozen-or-so crash logs start like this:

My guess, the email(s) are from windos users?
I had this problem, until I switched to thunderbird. A few people, using a version (don't remember the version number) of outlook/outlook express, would send multimedia attachments.
As soon as I would select the email, Mail would crash.
I would copy the offending email to a folder with no other contents, and then open it up with TextEdit, to view the non-attachment portion.

    Hi travisc74509405,
Could you please let me know what version of OS are you using.
Also, let me know how much RAM and free hard disk space is available on your machine.
What exact dot version of Acrobat X do you have? You might check for updates under the Help menu to use the latest patch i.e. 10.1.13
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Why does pre pro cc crash when rendering?

Why does my pre pro cc crash when rendering?  It has done this repeatedly

There can be a LOT of reasons.  You'll need to start investigating and eliminating variables.
Start by turning GPU acceleration off if it's turned on, and go from there.

  • After Effects crashes when rendering to H264

    Hi,
On one of my computers, After Effects Crashes when rendering to H264. It always chrashes when doing the last frame of a clip. I think its when muxxing the m4a and the m4v together...
Does anyone have a solution? maybe there is some odd codec trash going on?
    Thanks in advance!

In every version of AE that has been capable of exporting h.264 the quality has been significantly lower than exporting with an app that gives you the option of multi-pass rendering. This has always been true for MPEG codecs that use inter frame (temporal) compression. You just can't get the same quality without multi pass compression. This goes back to the first use of MPEG streams.
AE CS6 may have H.264 encoding broken internally, but any pro has never used AE to render highly compressed delivery codecs because AE was never designed to be the right tool for the job.

  • Does anyone in Telstra know when civil works are scheduled to be done? Does anyone care?

A saga When rationalising from 2 phone lines down to one, Telstra disconnected the fax line that my ADSL2 was connected to by mistake, and advised me that it would be quicker, and I would get better performance if I now connected to cable (it showed as being available) rather than they reconnecting ADSL it to the other copper phone line. Technician came and pulled cable through from house to an existingTelstra pit in footpath - no problem. Then had to get the cable from that pit to the next Telstra pit 1m away via a conduit. The existing conduit between the pit was 'full' of other cables- now a big problem ! My 'next day connection' then went into the black hole that is Telstra 'Civil Works' . I got an email stating that 'due to the complexity of my installartion' it could take up to 21 business days to do these works - this equates to almost a month in elapsed time. My questions to someone in Telstra who cares are- Is breaking through a footpath, digging a 1 metre trench, installing a conduit and making good really 'complex' ?- Why is there no visibility from anywhere in Telstra as to when these civil works are actually scheduled to be done by the contractor? Saying that it can take upto a month elapsed is not good enough, and after spending over an hour on the phone to Telstra talking to billing, activations and then works I am none the wiser. The cop out from all in Telstra I have spoken to is that Civil Works are sub contracted and therefore are not visible to anyone who I can talk to on the phone. As a customer the whole experience has been appalling, and I suggest Telstra work out a way to be able to let their customers know when "Civil Works" are scheduled to happen. Surely a phone call to the allocated contractor would not be too hard???

    Hey rjob,
    Welcome to Crowdsupport,
for the specific information you are requesting, I don't know if Crowdsupport will be the most helpful thing for you.
Crowdsupport is made up primarily of customers and staff who often are not on duty and are helping of their own accord in their own time, and as such would not have access to account specific information such as you require.
My understanding is that it hasn't changed much and with the civil works, if they are on public property there is a level of local government involvement which can lead to an x factor, where until the work is approved that way it is sort of not very specific, however, you could lodge a complaint, and you will be allocated a case manager who can keep in touch with you on a regular basis until the issue is resolved... They will be able to provide any updates on time frame which Telstra have at the time, however even then might not be able to give you specifics until everything is in place for the works...
