  • How to search a folder or a repository without using index service

    Hi,
I want to get a count of all feedbacks (stored under /collaboration/feedback) created on a particular date. Since there are many sub folders, I am not able to use ICollection.
How can I read a folder or a repository without using IndexService.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi SRIVIDHYA RAGHUNATH
I dont understand how can't use ICollection. What you want can be do it coding. The TREX and the Index search it works just to search on content.
I think what you have to do if Iterate on a IResource Object  and the see if it is a file or a folder and keepp iterating, then when is a file, convert to an objects where you can get the feedback and count it.
    Hope its help

  • Error while crawling web repository

    Hi Experts,

We have a web server which has number of documents on that server. I have created a web repository for this web server . Repository is working fine , but while crawling it has indexed about 20000  documents and given some errors for 600 documents.
    Errors are like :
    1. Crawler error
    2. TREX preparation error
and when I search for the indexed pages it gives search result but when I click on html version it gives an error message 'No index service found'.
    Any suggessions !
    (Points are assured ..)

    Hi Tamil,
Thanks a lot for the help ! But I have already set everything correctly as per the sap help .
TREX is indexing the documents but as I mentioned not indexing all the documents and I cannot view the searched documents in HTML format.
One observation : It is not indexing large documents (Greater than 10 - 12 KB).
    Any suggessions !

To overcome the above error, many forums have suggested me to increase the time out which is under Farm level settings. But if time out gets increased, performance impacts as well.
So please suggest me to overcome this error without increasing the timeout. Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I understand that you get the error message when performing a full crawl. I have seen similar cases caused by IE proxy settings. You can try to edit the Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings. Uncheck ‘Automatically detect settings’.

  • Using Solution Database (IS01) in SolMan without TREX

    Hi all,
I just wanted to use the solution database within SolMan, which comes with the standard CRM functionality (IS01). Unfortunately I always receive dumps when creating (SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC) and searching (OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO) for problems and solutions.
Afterwards I found that the installation of the TREX server is required and this is maybe the reason. Is this true?
How can I run the solution database without the installation of a TREX? Is this possible?
    Please help.
Thank you very much in advance, and have a nice weekend.
    Stefan Bauert

    Hello Charan,
Thank you very much for your feedback!
I went through the wizard of TCode "CRMC_SAF_WZ_SE" and entered requested program, but I was leaving detailed data for http and so on blank.
After that I went to TCode "CRMC_SAF_ADV_CLIENT" and wanted to enter the recommended description to "Learning Enginge Description". The following 2 entries already exist:
    DEFAULT_ASPR     Spreading Activation
    DEFAULT_PURE     Pure Correlation
Do I need to enter a new entry, or just paste the program name into one of these entries?
However the creation of a problem is still failing with dump OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED.
Finally my question: If I do not want to use the service desk for this, can I use the solution DB without TREX?
    thanks and regards
    stefan

  • KM Search without TREX

    Hi.,
One of the customers would like to know if any document
search is possible without using TREX.
    Can anyone explain on this.
    regards
    JohnP

    Hi JohnP,
searching without Trex is technically possible, but KM is required for such a scenario. You can "simply" develop an IndexService (Search) for KM's Indexmanagement layer connecting any search engine and plug it into the framework. Leave the TREX IndexService empty (not TREX configuration) and you will be able to search upon your IndexService resp. to your search engine.

  • ICSS Without TREX

    Hi,
Can I run a ICSS B2B Application without Trex.
Our Client does not want search ability and we are using ICSS for a single issue ( Customer Serial Number Validation)
Is there any way i can do without Trex being installed.

    Hi Manish,
Are you talking about implementing succession planning using eRecruiting which a talent development specialist can do? If so, then TREX is required for search. All the serach related applications requires.
One of the critical steps in a succession planning process is to assign potential candidates for a job to a requisition(succession plan) & then evaluate them. This CANNOT happen without TREX. Only after you search candidates, you can assign them to a plan.
There are a host of things you can still do in eRecruiting without TREX but without this, the process is not complete.
Unless the succession planning process is vastly different from what SAP provides & you are willing to develop an elaborate application to cater to your needs, TREX is required in eRecruiting for succession planning.

  • Succession Planning without TREX

    Hi,
We want to use the succession planning feature from the Talent Development Specialist business package. From what I'm finding it looks like TREX is necessary for succession planning because otherwise we cannot do a candidate search to assign candidates to the succession plan. I wanted to know if it is possible without a TREX. Also what feature of succession planning can be used/not used without TREX. I'm not able to find much documentation on this.

  • Load repository without (TCP/IP) port binding?

    Hello all,
According to the MDM100 course, it is possible to load repositories without port binding (for port flip-over). But how do I do this?
When I try to erase the port number of the (unloaded) repository, a message informs me that a port number between 2000 and 9999 is required.
Is this option gone in SP05?
    Kind regards,
    Dennis klemann

    Hi Charan,
You're right for typical use, but I'm working on a high availability scenario. Basically, it should be possible to load a slave repository without port binding. In case the master repository fails, the slave can immediately take over (by assigning the port of the master), at least in read-only mode - but better than nothing and external applications don't have to be reconfigured.
When the master repository is up again, it can take over the port.
For bigger installations, a clustering system is probably better suited, though...
    Kind regards,
    Dennis

    Hi,
While archiving, in the "Archive MDM Repository" pop-up, click on "Options" button and select "Schema only".
When you unarchive this, you will get a repository with only schema - no data.

  • Shared Repository without NWDI / DTR

    Hello!
    We use Visual Composer 7.1.
Is it possible to transfer Visual Composer models to the Shared Repository without DTR or NWDI?
    Thanks, Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
The way to transfer components from the Local Repository to the Shared Repository is the same as the way to work with DTR.
(right click on the model/DC in the Local Repository --> add to source control)
Just to avoid confusion in terminology, "source control" is the general definition. Both DTR and Shared Repository can be source control, depends on system's configuration.
In your case, Shared Repository serves as source control.

  • How to update PL/SQL block/Specs in Repository without cut/paste ?

    (cross-posted in METALINK form also)
    Hello,
Question: How to quickly update PL/SQL block/specs in a package
    Repository Object Browser? (without cut/paste)
    Tools: Designer 9i, ROB 9.0.2.6
    Detailed description of a problem:
-- there is no good pl/sql IDE working with ROB
(JDeveloper can not work with NOT PRIVATE repository workspace)
    -- I use Toad and develop/generate pl/sql object
    directly in database.
-- I have to synchronize my work with repository as often
as possible the following way (we do not use read-server model
because afraid of getting 1000s of atomik func and proc):
---- navigate to the pl/sql package
    ---- select properties
---- click on pl/sql block - get old code in editor
---- copy all new code from Toad into editor
---- remove CREATE OR REPLACE and last line
    ---- save
---- do the same with specifications
I am looking for some way to do this with some script or
    one-button click...
For example, for text files it is possible to use command line
Repository Tool. But I did not found the possibility to make
    a script like this:
    checkout
    update workarea/container/plsql_definition/package_name/body....
    .....with new_package_body.txt
    checkin
Thanks in advance for any help/advice,
    Alex V.

    Hi Alex,
I just had an "Ah! I see!" moment. I now understand why you're having trouble and I can explain things so you can move on... I hope!
First it's important to understand that Oracle SCM is designed to support versioning of both files and Oracle Designer objects. Designer objects are stored as rows in specially structured tables that support that specific product. When you look at PL/SQL definitions in the RON you're looking at Designer definitions - not files. As I mentioned before, these are not the definitions of 'real' PL/SQL objects in the data dictionary, but definitions used by Designer (from which the real things can be generated - but that's another story).
If you're using TOAD you should probably avoid accessing the Designer objects. You need to work with files.
Here's a suggestion for a sequence of operations:
    - In the RON check out & download the file (e.g. mypkg.plb)
    - In TOAD load the package (from DB, or downloaded file), edit, update package in DB
    - In TOAD save as mypkg.plb (overwriting the downloaded copy)
    - IN RON upload mypkg.plb and check in
If you've not stored the file in Oracle SCM yet, jsut omit the first step.
You could even automate this to an extent using SQL to query the data dictionary views (e.g. USER_SOURCE) after making changes to get the code and edit/overwrite the file contents that way.
    Does this help at all?
    Keith.
