Crawl perfect in FCE4, jittery on export
Hi-
I'm creating crawls over Hi Res photos in FCE4 that are smooth in my Canvas but when I export them to .mov there's a slight jitter. I've tried just about every export parameter and still no change. I've also tried viewing the export in Quicktime Player, VLC and even tried burning to a DVD with Toast. All exhibit the same problem.
Thanks for the help!
Some Specs:
Mac Mini 10.5.8
Processor: 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 3GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Creating project in 1440 x 1080
Creating crawl in Live Type, then tried Boris plug in
The jitter in the lettering is due to the interlaced nature of the video. It generally does not appear in the Canvas but does in the finished video.
There's not much you can do about it in FCE other than use a larger font size, and even that is not going to completely eliminate it.
In Boris Title Crawl there is a control called 1:2:1 Deflicker - try checking it and it may help decrease the amount of jitter, but it will not eliminate it.

I have a Canon 550D and a class 6 Sandisk extreme 3 card which I have been taking great photos and film clips.
Yesterday I captured some content and when I put it into my macbook pro, the images were clear as per usual however the videos only appeared to play the audio in aperture 3 and also in quicktime.
I then tried the videos in VLC and it had perfect audio once again but with picture this time. This picture quality seemed to freeze.be jittery.
Has anyone had/fixed this before..?? The content I have captured was of a once off opportunity for work...hi,
thanks. i already have that. wmp 9 for the mac. (i forgot to post that in my list.)
every darn thing i have does the same thing.
audio but not video
i clicked on "open in rosetta" for flip4mac and now it does open once more but the same...no video.
i don't understand why nothing is working.
do i have to upgrade fliprmac and buy it to make it work? i am not going to do that tho.
this is really frustrating.
i'm curious - suppose i send it to you - unless i can put it here somehow - and see if you can
open and listen and watch?
i tried it on my ibook and the same thing happened.

Slightly jittery video export from FCPX
I'm placing a supplied 3D rendering video file in FCPX and when I export the footage it doesn't move as smoothly as the original footage. It seems a bit more jittery. I was supplied with both Apple ProRes 422 HQ and a full Animation format and they both export the same. Any idea why this is happening?
The footage was supplied by a 3D animation studio we use. They can provide me with whatever format I require. In the future what should I ask for exactly to make it easier to edit in FCPX?
Here is a screen grab of the "hi-res" render file they also supplied me with. -
All of a sudden FCE4 won't export!
As usual, I complete my project, save it, but now when I try to export it, I get an error message saying that "the application is using the file"! Well, NO SH*T!! They better upgrade this piece of junk soon or I am outta here!

I made a portfolio page with 70-90 1100x696 pixel jpgs compressed to 60%. When the files are imported into the lightbox widget and arranged on page, the look fine but when viewed from the html, the 10th thumbnail is a slightly smaller and pixillated version of the first thumbnail and not the same as the thumbnail that is clicked and 15 are smaller than they should be a pixilated and deleting them just adds that crap to ones that used to display properly and even deleting the whole show or even deleting the page and re importing and redesigning doesn't change anything. I just want this fixed, it should be easy. I am on a Mac pro with 16 gig memory 2010 quat core and mac os 10.9.1
Zak, i export the site to html. Then I open it on my computer (clicking index.html) to check before uploading to my server replacing the old website. I export to desktop in a new folder. I do rename the file to my website name but that didn’t affect the last Muse design I did and uploaded. Got any other ideas? I can send you the Muse file and the jogs for the widget if that would help.

As per the topic - crawl inside FCP7 looks jittery on monitor output - like a field dominance issue. Tried changing fields to no avail. We have 2 edit machines running same version of fcp7 ( but with 2 licences of course! :)) and both are doing the same thing. One is 2006MP other is a 2008MP. We are both using Blackmagic hd extreme for output. Can anyone else reproduce this?
Thanks for your concern Jim I am calm. I Just wanted someone else to try it to see if they had the same result.I don't see why in fcp 6 the output to the monitors was fine but not so in 7. I've posted a couple of movs but you can't really see what I'm talking about because when I export to a mov it seems not too bad. My problem is going to tape it comes out like it does on the monitors. Not good. Anyway have a look at the movs as there is a slight difference. The 1st one (cars) is rendered in fcp 6http://www.makadvertising.serveftp.net/downloads/files/parrynewest8.mov and the 2nd in fcp 7 (food).http://www.makadvertising.serveftp.net/downloads/files/jupmgrillava.mov Like I said this is much more noticeable when outputting to my monitor, but if noone but us is having this issue maybe its a blackmagic thing.

Jittery motion with stills when exported to Quicktime
I've been producing photographic AVs with FCE for a few years now and I've run into a problem with the latest version (3.5).
Any time I use keyframes to do a Ken Burns effect it gets all jittery when exported to Quicktime. Everything plays back fine within FCE - it's only when exported that the problem occurs. The problem didn't exist (for me) with version 3. It seems to be exacerbated by adding a transition but it happens even when there's no transition.
Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what I might be able to do to remedy it.
regards and thanks
powerbook 1.5ghz 1.25 GB RAM Mac OS X (10.4.7)That's what you did when you switched the field
dominance to none, but you see you didn't see any
effect when you did that.
No, none at all.
I have a fairly major show on Friday night (it's Wednesday pm here now) so I'm thinking I might spend the night redoing it in iMovie. I'm disappointed because I've been doing them in FCE for a few years now and this is the first time I've seen a problem. The only thing which has changed is the jump from 3 to 3.5.
Many thanks for your suggestions.

Export to Excel Formatting Lost
I've got a CR designed such that the report prints out a separate page for each grouping of data bay a certain data field.
The Crystal format and PDF format look beautiful and the paging is perfect. Yet when I export to Excel it all runs together and does not page correctly at all. Plus the formatting is totally screwed.
Is there a secret to getting the Excel export to behave as the report was written?
TIA

You're right that really doesn't tell you much.
The formatting is probably fine for it being an Excel file. Whereas the Crystal viewer and the PDF viewer isolate each page from the other, the Excel has the pages on same screen by its very nature.
I think what I may have to do is create another report that basically creates a separate Excel file for each grouping. I've got screen shots but the content is NDA cept I could pobably zip and send to your email if that's possible or a ftp site......Can the Crystal Report detect Excel export and if so create as many Excel files as groupings? -
FCP "Export - QuickTime Movie" gamma shift
Above is an example of what happens when I do a direct export in Final Cut Pro, using the Export -> QuickTime Movie function. As you can see, the image is significantly brighter and the colors are a little more washed out (this image isn't particularly colorful, but trust me, it washes them out). I always thought the Export -> QuickTime Movie meant the image would not be compressed--that it was a straight export using the sequence settings.
The image you see above was shot natively in ProRes 422 (HQ) using an Arriflex Alexa. It has never been transcoded. The bottom image is what it looks like using Export -> QuickTime Movie. Totally unacceptable for a piece of professional software, if you ask me.
I can't express how infuriating this is, to have everything looking perfect in FCP and then exporting only to have it look like garbage. I've been able to play with gamma correction a bit and have gotten it PRETTY close to the original look, but this seems like a horrible workaround.
Anyone else know why this is happening? Is there a fix for this?
I'm working with FCP 6.0.6 and QuickTime 10.1.Sure thing, Meg.
Here's a source clip with "approximate" gamma correction:
"Approximate" gamma correction makes the image look flatter within Final Cut Pro than it actually is.
Now, the very same clip and frame, but with gamma set to "Accurate" :
Now, things are switched. The exported image looks flatter than the source clip within FCP.
Here's another tidbit of info--the frame from my first post was professionally color graded and exported as a self-contained movie--so there were no filters, FCP or otherwise, being applied there. But the difference is just night-and-day to me. -

Is this problem with export-import views?

REM These are the releases when the compatibility was bumped:

Does this has some bearing on the problemI recommend you to make that export in two parts. Export your data from Oracle 6 to Oracle 8.0.6 and after make an export with Oracle 8.0.6 to Oracle 8i because the migration can not be directly.

Unable To Export Using Internet Explorer 9 or Higher
My issue is this:
I have a reportserver on an intranet which users have been using quite happily under IE 8, beacuse of legacy systems we are far from early adopters. I now have some users who have moved to IE 9, however they can now no longer export reports. They render
perfectly on screen, but the export results in a blank new window.
When I replicate this I see:
Failed to open
http://draco.universe.int/Reports/Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd?ReportSession=xvmayr55k0ze4i45uadc1jqe&Culture=2057&CultureOverrides=False&UICulture=9&
UICultureOverrides=False&ReportStack=1&ControlID=d3e19f898c8a45dfa3a9e189bd3cc881&
OpType=Export&FileName=IT+Birthdays&ContentDisposition=OnlyHtmlInline&Format=WORD
I have tried all available formats and I get the same result.
The setup is SQL server standard edition 2008 R2 SP2. We do not use sharepoint.
I have read various posts about SSL headers and saving encrypted content flags - however we do not SSL so this is not an issue - plus I have tried both changing the do not save encrypted content flag, and viewing the website in compatibility mode.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Geoff.Hi Mark,
Thanks for responding.
I am using report manager and we are now viewing it through i.e 11 not 9. It's defaulting to compatibility mode 8.
My gut feeling is it has something to do with the web config file but to be frank I do not understand that side of things. I have turned on http logging and for the period where I ran and tried to export the report, the log is below:

Black frame in embedded quicktime movies in Keynote when exporting to quicktime movie
I've included some quicktime movies made in Photoshop in my Keynote presentation. When viewing the Keynote presentation from within keynote, the movie play perfectly. However when I export the presentation to a Quicktime move, the first or last frame of the embedded movie is black creating a flicker effect on play.
The quicktime movies have been embedded as loopable animations using the animation build in function 'Start movie' (after transition with 0 delay).
Is there a setting that will prevent the black frame on export or is this a bug?Trim out the frames in a video editing application, Quicktime, iMovie

Titles are not correctly export
Hello,
In the timeline I inserted several video sequences. For each sequence, I added a title indincating what we see in the sequence.
The titles comes from the FCPX titles library.
So, I inserted the titles, chaging the name (by default when insterting titles the default text is "Name") and the position.
After that, when I played the timeline in the visualisation monitor everything was perfect.
But, after the Export (with or without compressor) in Quicktime or MPEG-4 format, the text I put in the titles was replaced by "Name"Titles not 'sticking' but reverting to the placeholder has been frequently reported in this forum. It appears to be a bug. Report it to Apple.

In indesign the preview is perfect and the dots are perfectly aligned but when i export to pdf it generates misalignment with the dots.
If i make a eps export and destill the file it works.
indesign cc and acrobat 11How does it look if you print it, (from Acrobat)?
I suspect it's just the Acrobat display. Try this:
In Acrobat: Edit > Preferences > Page Display > Enhance Thin Lines...untick
