Crawling text blurry / flickering

Hi
Recently I am making a film with crawling text on Premiere Pro CS6 on Macbook pro.
I created the text and the crawling effect simply by New - Title within Premiere.
The format of the sequence is QuickTime DV PAL, 25.00 frames, 720x576
When I preview it in Program monitor (not on a separate screen) it was fine. (The print screen was made while it was running.)
But after I exported it (I tried both QuickTime PAL DV, or H.264 PAL DV), in both formats, it showed like this
And I tried
- Anti-flicker (under motion)
- Created the crawling text in Adobe After Effect, then imported to Premiere
- Created the crawling text, then made the text as shape in After Effect, then imported to Premiere
None of those worked. Can anyone help me with this
Thank you!
Ting

1) Yes, use quicktime export, either to a simple quicktime movie or using quicktime conversion.
2) I haven't had this problem before, but it stands to reason if you're having trouble with reading a font to change it to a more readable and larger one.
3) Color should not make a difference in the blur factor, but you probably want to choose one that is easily read by the intended audience (white on black is very good)
4) The ability to view the video in FCE on another TV has become almost obsolete, and will only work with a select few video formats. You might want to check to see that the format you are recording in is compatible with this ability.

  • Why is the small text blurry on photoshop?

    why is the small text blurry on photoshop? i am **** a very small advert for a newspaper! and the text is printing blurry and when zoomed in is appearing all blurry? how do i stop this i only have photoshop and indesign

    If a vector is intact, no flattening has been done. I don't talk about PDF layers, they are a complete different thing. When flattening is done no form or text survives as live vector or live text.
    The pdf is X-1, so there are no Layers or transparencies in it, but the text is searchable still.
    So I guess you are correct in that no flattening has happened, rather Photohop embedded two images in the pdf and clipped the one with the type.
    Exaclty, whe a pDF X1 or 3 is created transparency is flattened and here it can come to unwanted rasterizing of vectors.
    How will you create the correct boxes for bleed and crop in Photoshop?
    For a newspaper add those will probably be irrelevant as bleed is hardly necessary.
    Not at all, it is much easier to assamble files in a greater layout if all boxes are correct.
    You know it good enough that this is not the right tool for that task?
    Indesign is definitely the preferable tool for the task at hand, but claiming Photoshop cannot output type except pixelated was not proper.
    I think in a forum we should not support the use of wrong tools but we have to show the best way to do things correct.
    And there are also problems which cannot avoided with higher knowledge like coloured black (not in this ad). Yes, you an me we are capable to shift around the known problems with ads created in Photoshop, but others don't know these problems and will crash.

  • How to get consistent speeds with scrolling/crawling text?

    Has anyone found a clever way of making consistent scrolling speeds between separate scrolling text clips?
    I have dozens of clips of scrolling (and crawling) text in my movie, but haven't found any way to make them scroll at the same speed. The speed is determined by the length of the scrolling clip, but each of my clips has different amounts of text, so I can't just make them all the same length.
    So I play around and try and get it close, but some always end up moving faster than others.
    Thoughts?
    thanks,

    Is your text vertical or horizontal?
    With vertical scroll, I make a huge empty paragraph with a bunch of "Enter"-spaces. Example:
    Then I just fill in what I need. I make sure my initial 'empty' paragraph is big enough to fill my biggest piece of scrolling text. Then I just place the big effected clip on it's own video track.
    For horizontal scroll, it's a bit different. I simply type in the longest piece of text that i'll be using and use that as my template. For shorter lines of text, I put in blank spaces. To ensure that the longest and shortest text lines are going at the same speed, I put the longest clip on it's own video track, and the shortest clip on another video track, but directly above the other one. I then put a period (".") at the beginning and end of my short text line and see on my timeline if the period appears at the same time as the first/last letter of my longer text block. Example:
    V2 = . The sky is blue .
    V1 = Dogs eat grass and cats meow. Cows don't bark.
    Once I see that it's at the exact same speed, then I replace the periods with spaces.

  • Crawling text looks messy on the DVD, almost like I've got double-vision...

    Hi, I just finished a Showreel of all my work, put together in Final Cut Pro.
    I exported it as a Quicktime movie and then used Toast 6 Titanium to burn it onto DVD using the 'High Quality' option.
    The footage has come out fine but one thing concerning me is some crawling text I have going across the bottom of the screen; when I read it, it's like I've got double-vision, it just looks messy and not very sharp at all.
    Why has this happened and how do I resolve it?
    I'm sending this Showreel out to potential employers and something like this won't look very professional.
    Thanks for any help,
    Alex Wilding

    I'm not sure how to correctly describe the "creepy" effect that results from vertically animating the text generators in FCP, but they seem to always be there. There are also compression artifacts that add to this that result from the DV compression, if that is the codec you are using.
    One way I solve the first issue is to create my credit rolls in photoshop as a very tall layer, and animate that in FCP. It's a little more tedious, but the results are much better.
    If I need to work in DV, and experience DV compression artifacts, I will create my credit roll in an uncompressed sequence and export to a self-contained movie to re-import to my DV sequence. FCP seems to do better at rendering uncompressed video to DV than it does at rendering the composite of your text and background directly to DV.
    hope this helps

  • Disappearing frames during crawling text on background elements

    Hello all!
    I am still learning the ropes for Motion so I apologize if this is a redundant question.
    In Motion 3 I used the NTSC Curves background template for a lot of short little credit crawl sequences. Never had a problem. However since upgrading to 4 I am having a big issue with the Curves Steel Background - NTSC template. I don't know if this issue affects others with custom projects or just me.
    When I added a scrolling text box either by keyframing or via a pre-made behavior the Curve 2 Gradient would disappear at random points leaving a jarring flicker. I thought it might be becuase of all the groups so I trashed everything and started from a fresh template. I put the crawling text in first and the problem was there again.
    Finally, I went to my laptop which I don't use for editing and I installed a fresh copy of Motion 4. The problem persisted there as well. I wiped the computer (as I do not know how to uninstall all the Motion files) and reinstalled Motion 3 and the problem was not there so I am going to say it is a glitch in Motion 4 either in the template or the program.
    For now I am using Motion 3 for this, but is this a known issue with others? Thanks much!

    When you say "my browser" do you mean Firefox?
    I've tested in IE8, Chrome and Firefox 3.6. The issue only appears in Firefox.
    I don't know what the fix is yet, sorry.

  • Samsung 930b LCD text blurry

    I have an Samsung 930b 19” connected to my mac-mini via the mac-mini’s DVI to VGA converter. Previously I had a CRT connected to the Macmini and the text was clearer. The text is blurry now with the LCD. I’ve tried many resolutions and the text still is not as clear as the CRT. Is the solution to buy a DVI cable and use the DVI. Will the DVI make the difference?

    I just picked up a Samsung 730b, and noticed the same thing. As the other poster advised, I also found that "light" font smoothing was key to improving the clarity. Also, tweak the "sharpness", and "fine" settings on the display (via the OSD menu). I'd make a note of how they're set before you move them. I also found that "graphite" seems to look more eye pleasing overall. Though I found that a DVI cable made virtually no difference on my Viewsonic/Windows XP MCE box, it surely didn't hurt, and I was able to grab one for about $14 for that setup. I just ordered another for the mini/Samsung, and hope to have it in a few days. Worst case, I'm out $14, but it might make a significant difference.
    Being new to the Mac world, I can't say what's different or better about the Apple displays, as I see them setup in stores. Certainly, the iMac and desktop machines I've seen with Apple monitors look outstanding. What I see with my current setup, is much like I saw when I ran Linux. The fonts just never seemed to me to be of the quality and sharpness that I've been able to get on a Windows machine, which far less fiddling.
    Until I get the DVI cable, I can't say for sure, but at this point, either:
    1) It'll take the $14 cable to have a terrific looking display.
    or
    2) It'll take a truckload of cash to get an Apple display to have a terrific looking display.
    I'm hoping it's #1.

  • LiveType Credit Roll Text Blurry Shaking in DVD Studio Pro Completed SD

    I first created text scrolling directly from inside FCP. The texts appear shaking/blurry in the exported MOV. After trying different font family/size but still getting the same bad result, I did more research. I then created the credit roll in LiveType, imported that into FCP. This time, the exported finished MOV looks great on computer. I thought this is the right fix but after I got everything done in DVD Studio Pro and burned a SD to test on my 50" screen SONY, the credit roll part is again shaking and blurry!! This really drove me nuts!! Well, other texts that I created both in FCP and LiveType appear just fine!! I am trying to export the credit roll texts part as self-contained mov then import back to FCP but really suspect this will fix the problem.
    That part of rolling credit texts were shaking in DVD Pro simulation but I thought that's only becuase it was not the final product. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    p.s. I spent the past few hours googling and tried different methods but still had no luck...:(
    Thanks in advance!

    Ok...I just export a MOV with ONLY the credit roll encoded using QuickTime conversion, change the compression type to Uncompressed 8-Bit 4:2:2 which was supposed to retain the graphic/text quality better than normal setting. The completed credit roll still look shaking, however. It's white text on black, yeah I know not the best combo but there must be a way to get the text to not shake/blur...no?
    Please help, if anyone could.
    Many thanks...

  • PDF Text Blurry Fuzzy... but only on one machine...

    I could really use your assistance. When viewing a PDF, one user can see the PDF text with great clarity, but the same PDF viewed by other users, the text appears fuzzy / blurry. I've tried to massaged about every Preference I could (within Acrobat) and through Windows 2003, but nothing worked.
    The machines (corporate image) are (should be) identical as is the hardware.
    Has anyone successfully resolved this issue?

    Thanks for your help.
    I'm using Aperture 2.1.4, sorry I should have mentioned that in my original post.
    I've installed the RAW Compatibility Update nonetheless, but no joy.
    I did a consistency check on the database and nothing came up. Then I did a rebuild and it almost worked. Luckily, I did this on a copy of the library. It removed most of my images from my library, but those that remained (which were a seemingly random subset of my whole library) were fine.
    I'm now making another copy of the library from the Time Capsule
    It's strange that it would be a problem with the database if it works fine on my MBP, don't you think?
    I'm out of ideas!

  • Why is my text blurry?

    I've  used fireworks to create my banner, which includes a background color in a rectangle, and my company name in a text box @ a 75 text size.  It ends up looking blurry.  Is there a way to create a large - crisp looking text?
    Should I go about this in a different way?
    This is the only program I have to create my graphics.

    Can you post the image? Or maybe even post the same thing with different text? What font are you using?
    That said, Fireworks' rendering is not always the smoothest. I will sometimes make an image 2 or 4 times larger than my intended final output (make the font size 2 or 4 times my intended size, as well), export the image, then resize the export to my final size.

  • Why is my TEXT BLURRY in Motion 5??!!!

    I have turned the settings to 'best'!!!  Why is it STILL BLURRY?! I NEED SHARP TEXT!

    Hi Steph,
    have you tried to check "flatten" inside the Text rendering box which you can find in the layout tab of the text inspector?
    I had similar problem with not wanted blurry effect while the text was doing a transiction and i fixed it...

  • Changed Display and when changed back, text blurry

    I connected my computer to an external monitor yesterday and adjusted the display. After I removed the monitor, I put my display rate back to 1280 X 800. But for some reason all the text on the screen seems a little soft -- not completely blurry, just soft. Is there a setting that I missed when I reset my computer on its own without the external monitor?
    Thanks!

    I suggest you to upgrade Firefox to version 7 and post back to us

  • Document text blurry

    Hi, i have two word documents, one looks blurry and washed out, the other one is crystal clear. Any idea?
    both are arial 11pt
    Both pdf are created from a word 2010 documents with the same settings from within acrobat
    the view settings in acrobat are the same
    this can also be seen at 100% and 150% zoom
    the documents look the same in word
    Note: This only happens when the view setting is set to lcd-diplays, when the setting is none both documents look the same (similar to the right one)

    The one on the left, where the text looks like it has a shadow or is bold.
    changing view setting to "display" solved the problem (somehow unsatisfying)

  • IWeb text blurry

    Hi, I've been reading over similar questions in this forum, but haven't found any that answer.  Hoping someone can help.  I created a website in iWeb.  The text on this page looks blurry http://themostdangerouswomaninhollywood.com/Booking.html.  The text on this page looks crisp and clear http://themostdangerouswomaninhollywood.com/Peep_Show.html.  The text in the upper portion on this page looks great, but the lower portion looks blurry http://themostdangerouswomaninhollywood.com/Ladies_and_Gentlemen.html.
    How do I get all the text throughout the site I built in iWeb to display clearly?

    I'm assuming you're referring to the small font on those pages.  On the first page, booking, the font is has been converted to an image file, probably do to the drop shadow enhancement added to the large font above each smaller paragraph.  The same goes for the Ladine and Gentleman page.
    It also could be the contrast between the font color against the background. The gray font is easier to see than the black because of the black's lower contrast.  Also the italics on the last example you linked to adds to the difficulty to see clearly.
    All of the text that has drop shadow or other enhnacements has been converted to images.  This prevents search engines from using that text in their ranking and presentation of the site in search results.
    Increase the contrast between the font and background and, for my old eyes, increse the font size of the smaller font a bit.  I see the photos and videos just fine .

  • Dynamic text blurry when preloader is used

    I've put the skeleton of something here:
    http://www.leetilford.com/tests/portfolio.html
    Note the crisp type up front. Choose a category (bathroom or
    dining for instance) and see that the dynamically loaded type
    becomes blurry.
    This only happened when I used a preloader to load the
    category swfs, anyone know why?
    The crispness of the Portfolio type is how they all render
    when no preloader is used.
    Baffling?

    Yes. I just deleted all text boxes (including buttons) and
    made
    sure all boxes were set to static, anti-alias. But, that kept
    me from needing to embed.
    I had embedded the fonts before.
    The files are clones of the portfolio.swf which comes up
    nicely. However,
    that one is not preloaded.
    This is what I'm using for a preloader:
    stop();
    //-------------preloader------
    //make the preloader bar not appear "full" right away
    bar_mc._xscale = 0;
    //load Movie into level 1
    loadMovieNum("exterior.swf", 1);
    //note the movie to load has a blank first frame.
    onEnterFrame = function () {
    _level1.stop();
    // get the bytes of Level 1 and make into a percent
    percent =
    Math.ceil((_level1.getBytesLoaded()/_level1.getBytesTotal())*100);
    //use the percent to determine the xscale of the preloader
    bar.
    bar_mc._xscale = percent;
    // if loaded play level1
    if (percent>99) {
    //note you MUST delete onEnterFrame otherwise it
    //will continue to run.
    this._visible=false;
    delete this.onEnterFrame;
    _level1.gotoAndPlay(2);

  • Can't highlight text ( text tool flickering )

    I am trying to simply highlight text and when I do it just flickers between the text tool and the hour glass.  You can select as if you are going to select the text but then it doesn't highlight.  So, the only way I can change colors, fonts, etc. is by opening the editor.

    ok, i fixed my issue by going to:
    Program Files
    Fireworks CS3
    Right Click on the fireworks.exe file and the go to compatibility
    I changed mine to Windows 2000 and it started working again.  Hope this helps someone.
