CRB2008 - Toolbar Issue

When I view a report I have created in Visual Studio 2008, then it views the full report with no problems, using the built-in viewer. The report takes up the whole window.
If I view the report via my web site, using the report viewer control, then the report view only takes up about 2/3 of the size of the viewer window. I have increased the size of the viewer but it does not help. The toolbar where the crystal logo is takes up the other third. I have removed the logo but the bar is just grey and still takes up the space. What I want to get right is to have my report use the full space of the viewer size at all times, like with the built-in viewer. Not sure how to get this right.
Thanks,
Garth.

Hi Garth,
As I have witnessed before Crystal Viewer with Ajax gives issues as it is not tested, in this environment.
However in your case, I understand, what could be restricting the view are the in build features of the viewer that you can see from the designer. You can see the whole report in Designer because it is not being restricted to a particular section while previewing.
So I would suggest you that if you can use frames (inside it you can put the viewer control) so that you can enable the horizontal and vertical scroll bars from the VS designer only. So your clients can check the whole report.
To enable or disable features of the viewer you can go to the design mode of the form and select the properties like ShowCloseButton,ShowExportButton, ShowGoToButton, ShowGroupShowTreeButton, ShowPageNavigationButton, ShowParameterPanelButton, ShowPrintButton, ShowRefreshButton, ShowTextSearchButton, ShowZoomButton or use the toolPanelView to None, of the viewer.
You mentioned that you can view the page properly from VS2008, do you mean previewing the report from VS IDE, by opening the report or while running the application using the file system, from VS2008? If you are talking about the Viewing from VS IDE by opening the report then it would show you the full report as it is the Crystal designer that is integrated in VS2008.
I hope that should reduce the excess size of the report space. Please attach the screen shot, here, if you find that this is not helpful to you.
Thanks.
Atanu.

  • InDesign CS5 ME - Workspace/Toolbars issue

    hi all
i bought new computer with win 7 ultimate 64 bit
and i try to install indesign cs5 middle east (ME) and after i finnish it i get : Window -> Workspace" dropdown there are no available Workspaces to choose from
The Workspace settings are set to "untitled" and, while you can manually set them back to normal, upon reloading InDesign 5, it has reset and you are back to no toolbars.
    and i dont get :
For example, Re: InDesign CS5 - Workspace/Toolbars issue.. permissions? Re: InDesign CS5 - Workspace/Toolbars issue.. permissions? Re: InDesign CS5 - Workspace/Toolbars issue.. permissions? .... etc are not there, only the options to "Reset Untitled" and "New Workspace...".
in my old computer and in my leptop i dont have this problem
do you have any solution for me.
    thanks
    hanan

    Ok sure,
When loading up InDesign CS5 (v7.0.2) on either a Dell XPS 720, or a Dell Precision T3400, the toolbars don't appear. The Workspace settings are set to "untitled" and, while you can manually set them back to normal, upon reloading InDesign 5, it has reset and you are back to no toolbars.
After some troubleshooting, under the "Window -> Workspace" dropdown there are no available Workspaces to choose from. For example, .... etc are not there, only the options to "Reset Untitled" and "New Workspace..."
It seems as though the program is having trouble loading the Workspace defaults into CS5 ID...
However, when you run the program as either a local admin or set the compatibility to Windows 2000, it loads up just fine, toolbars/workspaces and all.
Hope this clarifies the situation, again thanks for your help thus far.

  • Code View Toolbar Issue

I've had a weird issue under Dreamweaver 8.02. It started
under Vista and of course I blamed the OS and went back to XP. Well
now it's occurring there as well. It all happens in code view which
is where I work all the time. The toolbar buttons will not work. I
can't move to Split or Design view or edit the title from the
    toolbar.
I've tried looking around in the toolbar XML files, but
    nothing seems to help.
    Any thoughts?

It sure does happen for me, and I'm using CS3 on
    Mac/WXPPro/Vista.

  • How do I fix the toolbars issue I'm having whenever I open Firefox 4?

EVERY time I open Firefox 4, the entire window flashes black, and the only way to stop it is to right click on a toolbar (between a flash) to bring up the menu and check or uncheck to view one of the toolbars.
On my PC, I had the same problem but I thought I fixed it when I reset my toolbars. I've reset my toolbars a few times on my notebook, with no success. The issue occurs even in Safemode, with all addons disabled and settings reset.
I'm at a loss. What can I do to fix this?

A new profile does not fix the issue. And before I reinstall Firefox I just thought of something. When I do the temporary fix of checking or unchecking a toolbar the new Firefox button disappears, no matter which toolbar I select. Could the button be the reason for the flashing?

  • Adobe Acrobat Toolbar issues in firefox browser

    Hi all,
Since a recent Adobe update I have been having issues with reading pdf documents within firefox 3.6.20.
Basically to summarize I like have the Adobe Toolbar and always had the display in read mode by default disabled.
However if I disable this the toolbar doesn't appear fully only partially with nothing at the top only to the left toolbar which has the thumbnail icon, search command and attachments.
To get the full top toolbar back the only way I have found is to enable read mode.
Then when the pdf appears in brower to click the adbe icon on the reader toolbar and then the extended toolbar is fully back.
    Whats gone wrong?
Seems to it with both adobe reader X and Adobe acrobat X pro
    Thanks,

Sounds like a problem with the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder.
Do you have (security) software that might protect and restore an older copy of this file?
Note that the default position of the Home button is at the far right of the Navigation Toolbar and the combined Reload/Stop/Go button is positioned at the right end side of the location bar where you also have the star to bookmark web pages.

  • Acrobat Toolbar Issue

We are currently using Adobe Acrobat X Pro in a Windows 7, Citrix Xendesktop environment.  I believe our engineer installed an older version of Acrobat then upgraded to X.  The IE Add-in for Acrobat is causing a number of issues with other IE add-ins and after deleting a registry key the other add-in issues were resolved.  The key is below.  Is this a Adobe Acrobat X key or from an older version of Adobe. I am finding mixed information on other forums.
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\{47833539-D0C5-41 25-9FA8-0819E2EAAC93}
    Thanks

It is installed on Win 7 - which is where I had the Acrobat 7 Pro installed.  The Acrobat 8 installed easily on Win 7, while the old Acrobat 7 Pro was not so easy to get working with Win 7.  The 8 is working though I do notice other minor glitches with it - in addition to not being able to have the Touchup Object tool on the toolbar unless all the tools are selected (I cannot uncheck other tools and still have that tool show - even if it is checked).
I also notice that when using the Text or Object Touchup tools they do not work if I am in certain modes (this was not the case with Acrobat 7).  If I am working in a form (which I usually am) and am in the selection mode (Hand) and enter text into a form field to test it, then hit the text touchup tool and try to change some text (on the page - not the form field text), nothing happens I have to go to a different mode and then select the text to touchup.  Minor - but different from the older version.

  • Finder: Safari Community Toolbar Issue

While searching through Finder I will almost always receive a pop-up window that is titles "Community Toolbar" It then proceeds to inform me that the Safari I am currently running is out of date and the toolbar cant be opened. However everything on the computer is update especially Safari

There is another poster, posting the exact same issue your having.
It can be seen here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2243774&tstart=0
If the solution provided work; the poster has not let it be known.
A 3rd party plugin is usually the cause of such pop-ups.
Execute the steps in the other posting or post back here or abandon this post and post back in the other post (mentioned above) and provide feedback as too whether the solution worked.

  • Toolbar issue after waking from sleep

When I wake my MBP Retina up from sleep, the top toolbar has recently been appearing a dark grey color instead of the normal translucent color. This problem is quickly fixed when I three finger scroll to another screen, but it is still annoying. I have had screen flicker issues recently so could this be related?

When my Macbook wakes from sleep, I have the same issue. But all I have to do click on the Airport icon and reconnect to my network. I found that changing my network's password to WPA (instead of WEP, which I constantly had issues with) works every time. I would strongly advise against using a WEP password.
Ever since I installed the most recent update and changed my wireless to a WPA password, I've had no more problems connecting to the internet.

  • InDesign CS5 - Workspace/Toolbars issue.. permissions?

    Hi all,
I have seen this posted around on the internet regarding CS3 (and 4) but havent seen anything re CS5.
I am in the process of rolling out a new build for the machines in my office, we have about 5 different models (all Dell) scattered amongst about 100 users, strangely enough this issue is only affecting the XPS 720s and the T3400s.
I have followed all of the advise posted on various forums, (setting permissions to all in regedit, renaming _US to _GB....) however the only fix that seems to work is setting compatibility mode to Windows 2000...
All machines have CS5 updated to the latest version, InDesign's being 7.0.2.
Has there been a definitive fix for this?
I have tested this on a functioning model on Windows 7 as well this afternoon, and it works fine without having to change the compatibility mode.
I am completely stumped as to why it is only affecting these two models, when all models are running under the same group policy for permissions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Thank you

  • Safari Toolbar -issue revisited

    Hello guys
Ive checked on solutions to an issue Im facing (a common occurence/unawareness) on this forum before reposting this issue. Please assist if you can/will.
I recently installed 'readability' app on my mac which added 3 icons on the toolbar. I now wish to uninstall it from my system and Im having difficulties removing the 3 icons on the toolbar. I've attempted to remove them by using the 'customize toolbar' option by dragging each of the 3 icons from the upper portion of the toolbar outwards but nothing gets changed/deleted.
I have no clue how to proceed. Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you.

Ok -I've resolved this issue. Apologies for crying SOS. For anyone facing similar issue going forward hope the solution makes sense.
1.) To remove any unwanted icon on safari's toolbar, click on View and then Customize Toolbar.
2.) To remove the icon that is currently on the toolbar and you no longer want -drag it from the "actual Safari Toolbar" outwards anywhere and it would simply 'disappear' upon release of the mouse.
3.) This dragging and disappearing only works once "Customize Toolbar" option has been selected.
4.) To add, you simply select the icon and add it to the "actual toolbar" and it should add it on (a green add sign would show up on the toolbar as you are about to add it).
Hope these instructions make it easier for everyone else.

  • Mouse, and toolbar issues.

I've been a windows user for a long time, and for the past few years, I'm almost exclusively a laptop user (dells and thinkpads). I've always been intrigued by the mac, and now that I can dual-boot to windows if I need to (on a core-duo), I'm more inclined than ever to try a macbook. Money is not an issue.
So I was in the Apple store today, playing with the macbook seriously, and to my complete surprise, I learned that you cannot 'tap' on the glide-point mouse to 'click'.
What I'm talking about is the ability to first position the mouse with your finger, then 'tap' with the same finger on the surface of the glide surface to implement a left mouse click (or just mouse click, I guess!). In addition to making 'selection' really easy (clicking on a button, for example), another real compelling use of this is 'tap/drag' - to move a window, for example, you move mouse to the top of the window (slide finger on glide surface) then tap finger down/slide finger to move in one continuous motion. This saves you from sliding with one finger, then clicking with the thumb and sliding with the finger. The mac guy said, "ah, we have something better, we have two finger scrolling" - hmmm, not quite relevant, but never mind. Can anyone tell me why Apple don't implement this very ergonomically valuable feature? I know a lot of windows users don't use this feature, which is fine - you can disable it in software. Is there a patent issue or something that would prevent Apple from providing this? I'm not saying every apple user would want it, but I see no reason why you would not provide it as an option should the user so desire it. By the way, the 'two finger scroll' that the store guy was so excited about is also available on the windows platform as 'touch/slide' on the right and bottom sides - I use it all the time.
The second thing I noticed, for the first time, was the fact that no matter what your window arrangement is, the currently active window has it's 'menu controls' across the very top of the screen, rather than at the top of the currently active window. To elaborate, let's assume I have a huge monitor, and I choose to have one of my applications non-full screen, but rather in the lower left area of the screen (eg, I have an email window open in the lower left quarter of the screen). If I wish to access a menu item for that appliction, I have to move the mouse all the way to the top of the screen rather than only to the top of the application window. This is not a huge deal, but having gone through carpal tunnel issues years ago, I'm very sensitive to ergonomic issues, and one ergonomic issue is mouse movement; minimising 'travel' is a big deal. So is there an option to display application menus docked to the application and not always at the very top of the screen? If not, is there an ergonomic justification for this I'm not aware of?
    Thanks!

don't use this feature, which is fine - you can
    disable it in software.
Keep in mind that you're describing a feature of the hardware not Windows. You're relying on driver support from the hardware manufacturer to enable this feature.
Also keep in mind that Boot Camp (are you referring to Apple's Boot Camp?) is still a beta product. This is the software that supplies the drivers to Windows for the Apple hardware. It may change in the future to allow this feature. Or possibly, the trackpad hardware does not have the ability to do this right now. Post feedback to the Boot Camp beta team and tell them what you want.
If you're actually interested in any of these features for the Mac OS X side of things be sure to keep an eye on the development of Side Track from Raging Menace <http://www.ragingmenace.com/software/sidetrack/index.html>. This product replaces Apple's hardware driver for its trackpad with its own.
The second thing I noticed, for the first time, was

is, the currently active window has it's 'menu

Finally, keep in mind that Mac OS X is not Windows. What you're describing is a design feature of Windows and is not a design feature of Mac OS X. This isn't to say it's a good or bad feature. Each company has made its choice for user interface experience and you've hit upon a feature of one that you'd like for the other. This just simply isn't how Mac OS X works. The menu bar is always at the top of the screen because Mac applications are not designed to be restrained to self-contained windows. If you're truly concerned about carpal tunnel be sure to look into using keyboard commands and contextual menus from the mouse to quickly access a good amount of commands. You can also use Mac OS X to program keyboard combinations for those commands that don't have any.
    Hope this helps! bill

  • Quick Launch Toolbar Issue

I set up a few icons in my Quick Launch Toolbar and now the line size has doubled. I only want the toolbar to be one line high, but it is two. Does that make sense? The time/date, windows security, network icons on the right are in a small square pattern instead of being horizontal in a one line format. If I hide the quick launch it returns to normal, but if I show it I get a big blue block across the screen. If I grab the top I can make it bigger but if I pull it down I can get to two lines and the next step is all the way down, out of sight. Does anyone have a remedy for this. I hope I explained that well. Thank you.
    Solved!

I just somehow fixed it. As I accidentally mucked it up, I did the same and fixed it. Thanks anyway.

  • Acrobat 8 Toolbar Issue

Acrobat 8 touchup object icon will not appear on the advanced editing toolbar unless all the objects in that toolbar are shown.  If I reset the toolbar the icon appears.  If I remove any Icon then the next time I start Acrobat the icon touchup object icon is gone.  Looking at the registry, there is an entry for it.  I am guessing that the program is looking for a different name for the icon in the registry than it actually writes.  This is the version of Acrobat 8 Pro that I just downloaded and installed because Adobe stopped supporting Acrobat Pro 7.

In iTunes 11 it is really disturbing that when i reopen it from the toolbar it is not opened properly. Firstly even it was minimized from full screen, it is not opened as full screen. Secondly, if there is any window on the screen, it is opened behind that window.
Also the shortcut icon in taskbar flashes in yellow, none of these had occured in iTunes 10.
    Any ideas?
