Creaet System Image process only works w/ DVD -R discs

Hello - did a fresh install of Win7 64-bit RTM Ultimate on my T400-2765 P3U unit. Aside from a few driver issues, the Win7 installation process had most of the hardware working on initial install, including the Optiarc DVD drive that came with the unit.
In attempting to create a system image, I found that if using a DVD +R disk, I continually keep getting a
'please insert media larger than 1GB....' type message. It would appear to step thru the formatting of the +R media, but would keep repeating the "please insert media..." prompt.
If using a -R DVD media, I have no problem. The process required 3 DVD -R discs to image the installation  partition.
I actually never used the DVD drive to burn any media prior to the Win 7 install, so not sure if this was an issue on the prior XP-Pro installation.  Has anyone run across this problem? A driver update to fix?  Thanks up front -

Could be your hardware...as DVD+R and DVD-R are different **, AND the fact that DVD-R data discs are giving you problems, I suspect your superdrive.

  • Process Only Works with Previous Item Name

I have a textarea item on my page, and a process that submits the text in that item to a column in a table. I decided to rename the item, and so then I changed the name of the item in the PL/SQL process as well; however, for some reason the process only works when I put the original item name in the PL/SQL of the process. Is this some kind of glitch, or am I really doing something wrong? The PL/SQL process is a very simple one and the problem may be able to be fixed by simply deleting it and recreating it again, but it would be nice to know how to prevent this in the future.

    Scott,
That is correct, I did do it all within a single session. I've made changes like this before without the same error, but they mostly involved using the item name with reports, not processes - which was the case here. Anyway, this is the only time I experienced this error with this much confidence that I had made all the correct changes, so I thought it may be an issue you were aware of. I'll be sure to try the logging out & back in part if I experience this in the future. Thanks.

  • System Image Utility not working on Intel Macs?

I have a client who has the following problem:-
We are still not able to create a Net Install image of a full system setup.
    Master Clone Mac - Intel iMac 17", 10.4.10, 40Gb partition 17Gb Used.
System Image Utility v10.4.10 on Another Intel iMac, 10.4.10, over 100 Gb storage for image
I get loads of errors and the final image is less than 2Gb when created.
Have just managed to create a 10.4.4 image (system only). But this is far from what we need it to do. Any ideas?

There is an inherent issue with creating images from 10.4.9 or later... see <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=929625&tstart=0>.
But it sounds as if your client has bigger problems. More information about the errors reported will be needed to offer any real help.

  • Can't burn .ISO image with k3b/brasero on DVD-RW disc.

I don't understand what's going wrong here, so I hope someone can help me.
I have created an .ISO image (of a video) using DVDstyler.
    (1) DVDstyler will burn it to a DVD-RW without any problems.
    (2) I can burn it from the command line (growisofs etc.)
    (3) I can burn it to a DVD-R from any application (DVDstyler, K3b, Brasero)
K3B and Brasero will write data to a DVD-RW any without problems
But, when I try to burn the dvd.iso to a DVD-RW disc with either k3b or Brasero, they fail with various  error messages.

  • Batch Processing only working on open image

I am trying to run a Batch process on several folders of photos.  In order to use the Batch process I need to have an image open, so I open a random image and run the batch process.  I'm not using any custom made actions, only the defaults.  Instead of taking the photos in a given folder, running the batch process, and creating a new folder for these images, Photoshop keeps running the batch process on the open image.  Not sure what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like you have come up with the answer to your particular situation. Great.
But, so that your experience can be of benefit to those finding your thread
    a. What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
    b. How were you not applying the video stabilizer to the whole video clip in the first place? Or, are you suggesting
that others apply the video stabilizer to all the clips on the Timeline instead of one video clip that may really need that effect?
    Thanks.

  • Image links only work once!!!!!

All help appreciated on this one. There are 3 pics of dogs, "about us", "services", and "pricing" - I have attempted to make them links but they only seem to work one time and the rollovers stop working. What am I doing wrong???
    http://www.moodydesign.net/dog_brigade/index.html
    Thanks folks

    Hi,
first: in the related files "services.html" and so on there are missing (look source code) the references to other directories. For example in "services.html" you should add:
    <div id="toplinkPan">
        <div id="toplinkfastPan"><a href="aboutus.html"></a> </div>
        <div id="toplinksecondPan"><a href="services.html"></a> </div>
        <div id="toplinkthirdPan"><a href="pricing.html"></a> </div>
         aso.
        <div id="toplinksecondPan"></div> and  <div id="toplinkthirdPan"> I would delete.
And in addition, you should better delete the spaces in your filenames,
"about _us.html", should better be read as "about_us.html" or "aboutUs.html".

  • System Proxy Settings only work as root

Using Firefox 10.1 on Suse Linux Enterprise Edition 11 SP2
Setting the System Proxy settings to our Proxy and using Firefox with "using System Proxy Settings" works as root user. The Authentication Prompt for Authentication Pops up and after entering the credentials FF works.
The very same Settings do not work as non-root User. Not even the Authentication Prompt for Proxy Authentication pops up.
All Proxy Settings are available too both users (checked Variables exported in Shell).
    Any Pointers appreciated.

Yes, entering the Proxy settings manually does work. Even the automatic configuration using the proxy.pac works. Just the "Use System Settings" part does not.

  • Our system for captioning only works now if we remove the textColor attribute. Why?

We typically include the header elements as follows:
    {QTtext}{timescale:100}{size:16}{font:Arial}{justify:left}{backColor:0,0,0}{text Color:65535,65535,65535}
    {width:480}{height:100}
    [00:00:00]Music.
But recently, we found we have to remove "{textColor:65535,65535,65535}" to be able to see the text. No big deal, except the text now appears justified center.
    What changed?

Here's the catch.  The line that is using the "Smartphones Talk Free" promo has to have a data package attached to it, which means that you would wind up in this situation:
Your Number (Line 1) - Calling Plan + Data Package
    His Number (Line 2) - $9.99 + Data Package
New Number (Line 3) - $0 + Data package (as long as the data package is kept on the line)
You'd have to have 3 data packages, one to keep the promo, and then one on the lines with the smartphones active.  Contracts and promotions are tied to the phone number, so you can't switch the number or contract end date between lines.  If your husband wants to keep his number, the best thing to do will be to wait until he is eligible for an upgrade.
If there is not a smartphone on line 2, but just a standard phone as was stated by the OP, you do not have to have a data plan on this line. To qualify for the smartphones talk free promotion, you do not have to have a data plan on all lines, just the lines you sign up with the offer for, i.e. just the primary line that is upgrading to the smartphone and the additional line that you are adding so that you can take advantage of the offer.
If you do want to take advantage of the smartphone talk free offer, though, you will have to leave the smartphone on the line you sign up with. If you move the phone to your 2nd line, I believe that the discount will be stopped.

  • System Image - A665-S6094

    Hi.
I have satellite A665-S6094 (US Version). I created system image and used it before.
After that HDD broken and changed.
But service installed windows7 Turkish version. But my original windows7 is US.
Now when i want to use my system image, it doesnt work.
But as i said before, i use my system image on my old hdd. So dvd has not error.
What can i do now, how to load my system image to new hdd?

Sorry, your image won't work even if they had installed usa version it would not work! cause when you create a image in the background it puts exclussive system rights codes to the image [ like a passcode ] and only the origanator windows can access the image! Microsoft done this on purpose to hold their rights, so users could not replicate to other systems!

  • No DLT Machine? Writing a DL project to 2 DVD-R discs as DDP images

There is yet another way to get a DL project to the factory if you do not have a DLT machine, and do not have access to DL discs in the correct format.
Write the DDP images to 2 single layer discs instead!
This requires the use of GEAR Pro Mastering Edition again, and is incredibly easy to do.
What you need to do here is follow the original guides in the FAQ sections for setting the Layer Break manually, but instead of writing the project to DLT tapes or to DVD-R DL/DVD+R DL media, what we do next is write the project to a DDP file on the HDD instead.
This will result in 2 folders appearing - Layer 0 and Layer 1.
Each of these has the necessary information for the replication plant to manufacture the discs - all we need to do is get them onto 2 discs instead of 2 DLT tapes.
    This is simplicity itself.
    Launch your burning application.
    Create a new DVD-ROM project.
    Name it (Project)_Layer_1
Broswe to the 2 folders with the DDP files in them, and add the contents in this exact order
    DDPID
    CONTROL.DAT
    IMAGE.DAT
    (Checksum.txt - optional)
    (Log file - optional)
    Burn the disc.
    Repeat for Layer 1.
That is all there is to it.
What will happen at the factory is the Eclipse verification system will look for the DDPID file at the root level of the disc. If it cannot find it, it will assume it is dealing with a standard DVD-ROM disc instead, but if it is there it will know what is going on, load the files, and ask for Layer 1 after it has finished in the normal manner.
    EDIT.
I have just been informed by a VERY reliable source that you can also write a copy protected image to DVD-R discs in this manner.
So that DLT machine is finally obsolete.

    >Everyone's an expert.
ARcoSS and RipGuard aren't flags, they use a non-standard file structure (i.e. delibrate errors). This requires you create the DDP set (author) using a low level application. They support Sonic products. Try reading the requirments over ta sony DADC and Macrovision...it won't wortk w/ Encore.
Who care about the ACP flags it's useless.
I wouldn't call my self an expert (An EX is a has-been, and a SPURT is a drip under pressure :) ) but I have managed to successfully author countless titles with no problems.
Wat I can state for you hyyt99 is that you do not seem to understand this at all.
CSS costs you nothing - it is free. As far as "pointless" goes, it is not much use as a copy protection system but then again, there is absolutely
i no way at all to guarantee any DVD-Video disc cannot be copied.
    Period.
NONE of the available options will protect against anyone for long.
Let's go through the lists again.
CSS - Free at point of replication. Flag has to be added at creation of DLT master or DDP/CMF image.
ACP - or Macrovision. Works as long as the analogue device respects the system. Type 1 is the sole option for PAL, as Types 2 & 3 use Colourstripe, which only works on NTSC standard discs. It tells the copying device the signal strength is much higher than it really is and results in an extremely low level copy. Copying to VHS tapes is very common in Asia, Africa & Arabian countries. Macrovision tend to buy up the patents or rights to boxes that can defeat it.
Flag has to be set at creation of Masters (DLT, CMF or DDP) and carries a setup fee & a per disc royalty. The replication facility must be licensed by Macrovision.
    ARcoSS/RipGuard.
You're only correct in saying that the flags are not set in authoring. They are not. They do NOT, repeat NOT need to be set at all for the DLT/DDP/CMF masters. You need to tell the replication plant you require these, there is a setup fee & a per disc royalty involved, as there is with ACP. There is certainly no way at all to create these discs at home - it is done at the factory, and only at the factory.
Truth is, you cannot protect any DVD-Video disc, or Blu Ray disc, or HD DVD disc at all. It takes a maximum of $30 to buy an application that strips the lot out.
The *only* uncracked protection system is Verance's Watermarking technology for DVD-Audio. And the supreme irony here is that this format is in a deep coma. Yet the watermark travels, and any copies will simply not play. A version of this that can go to DVD-Video is apparently in the works - and speed the day. Who would bother with a disc that has no audio!!

  • System Image Utility - Create User - Activate Remote Management

When creating an image with system image utility, based on a DVD image instead of a cloned image, I cannot create a user and activate Remote Management.
I have created an installer package with Apple Remote Desktop that is supposed to do both, however it doesn't work. I do not get an error, but no user is created.
I have tried a post-install script however the dscl command is not recognized even if I put the path /usr/bin/dscl.
I even tried to use a popular package out there called "createUser" but that fails as well.
Has anyone had any luck with this when trying to make a moduler image with System Image Utility?

After configuring all the appropriate settings, I
push the "Create" button and it appears to start
working, prompts me for a location to save the actual
image itself, creates a folder with the default name
    and then nothing happens.
ok here's the deal: i created a folder in my OSX server home directory labelled "images" and keep our multiple images there. although you CAN have your images on other drives or on the network, that would take a LOOOOOOOONG time to do the data transfer to the invisible netboot folder on your server. my advice: keep local copies of all images. save a ton of time for yourself, eh?
then, when it's time to use the system image suntility to load up an image, i go to that same location each time, call it up and have the app set to the prefs i want or need. i'm on 10.4.7 server and have had no problem using the software.
so try using images locally and then, if that doesn't work, upgrade to 10.4.7

  • Yoga 13 System Image Restore Fails Due To Excluded Disk

    Hello:
I am trying to execute a restore from a system image disc created shortly after I installed my principal programs without destroying the OKR partition or files.  However, I  do not want to go all the way back to factory condition at this time.  The issue is that when I attempt to follow the reimage instructions in win 8.1, I am presented with a dialog box that has two check boxes.  The first asks "Format and repartition disk" and the second asks "only restore system drives".
Based on everything I've read about preserving the C:/ and D:/ drive partitions, I would have expected to check the second box and not the first.  But the system will not let me make this choice.  Instead, the first box is automatically checked, and greyed out, with a second dialogue asking me if there are any disks I want to exclude from repartitioning.  When following this second dialogue I am asked if I want to exclude Disk 0 (Samsung MZMTD128HAfV -00l1) which has 119Gb of capacity.  If I try to exclude this disk, the operation fails with following error:   "Restore failed because a disk that was critical at backup is excluded"  My question is, if I do not exclude this disk, will the restore operation still leave the D:/ partition intact so I can use OKR in the future.
I have read quite a bit of imformation here and elsewhere about restoring system images and OKR, but have not seen any discussion about this disalogue, or the fact that I am being forced to reformat and repartition the disk without excluding the d:/ drive.  Other posters have stated that retsoringa  system image will only restore C;? drive, but this dialogue seems to conflict with those statements.  Anyone else have any experience with this operation?

  • Zoom only works on outer parts of photo

Very strange thing happening in LR5.6. When I go to zoom in on an image it only works on the outer 2/3s of the photo. it seems I can't zoom when clicking in the center. Same goes for when it is zoomed and I want to click the centre and drag to move to recenter the photo somewhere else. If I click on the centre it just does nothing. Also I can see that normally when I hover the mouse over the image, it shows the magnifying glass over those outer parts but when I move to the middle it just shows the mouse pointer, and same for when zoomed, the hand icon changes to mouse pointer. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
I am running a brand new iMac on OSX 10.9.4 Mavericks and have the CC version of LR installed and updated. The problem seems to be sporadic so I'm not sure if it's an Apple problem?

I'm having the same problem with the iWeb 09 Hit Counter on MobileMe. It worked fine until I republished the site under a new name. Now I can't get it to appear no matter what I try (including moving it around in the 150 px footer area. The javascript looks fine in the source code (see below), so I'm wondering if this is an iWeb/MobileMe bug? My hunch is that the javascript call to get the counter is not working correctly on the server end. Here's the code that also shows the proper footer value:
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://web.me.com/i/chp/NGHitCounter.js"></script><script type="text/javascript"

Any help on how to fix this “break” in the javascript call would be appreciated!
