Hi to everybody:
This is my first post. First of all sorry for may poor english. I´m writting from Vasque Country in Spain.
I have a brand new 13" Air since december 2012. The laptop came with a failure, one letter key wasn´t good. They changed me the entire keyboard.
Two weeks later I realized that a creack sound like this
Every time that I put my hands on it appears that sound. I sent the laptot to an apple technical support. They just tighted the screws but the noise it´s back.
Anyone with that problem?.

Had my Mac for three weeks now and have recently noticed that every time I place my hands on the device to type it makes a creaking sound, almost like it has become loose. Sharing a house with someone who has the exact same model and they have never experienced the problem. Any ideas???

    You did reset SMC.

  • Creaking sound upon wake from Sleep

I have only had my MBP (very first mac) last 1/25 and for a few days would wake from sleep totally silent.  In the last couple of days occasionally it wil make a creaking sound for a couple of seconds after I raise the lid sounds kinda like gears. Not very loud tho.  But since this is a refurbished (june 2012) unit I was just wondering if this is normal.  My old toshiba would always make creaky gear sounding noises at wake from sleep for much longer.  But since it is silent it is silent most times I was wondering if this was normal or a known problem?

If that's the case, however no one else replies to your thread, you might consider re-format your computer.
In fact I have. And this is on a freshly formatted drive unfortunately.

  • BB9720 Charger makes humming/creaking sound while charging

    Hi,
I've purchased a new BB9720 with original Charger received in the packing.
While charging the phone on an AC electrical point, the charger makes strange humming / creaking sound.
I'm based in New Delhi India, with 220V AC supply - the electrical circuit is perfect and has no earthing or other issues.
The AC CHargers on my other devices - iPhone, iPad, Samsung phones while charging do not make such noise.
It is only BlackBerry charger that makes this noise.
Can someone from BlackBerry support please respond if this is fine.
    Thanks & regards.

  • Creaking sound and loose feel of backside

    Hello sony and Z2 owner / futur-owner.
I try to post here, maybe this time I will be listened.
I have an xperia z2 tablet that suffer from a loose feel of the backside (on the right hand side) plus an awful creaking sound.
It first starts after 1week usage with an "unglued tape" sound then now it emit loud creaking sounds.
I went to my seller which is a Sony Center, they first states that they will not repair it because it's not a functional issues, then after a bit of talk they finally take it to warranty to give it me back 3 weeks later not repaired.
(It's actually the last time I buy something in a SonyCenter! I went there for expertise and service and they were incompetent and unfriendly)
So I contacted Sony Mobile by mail. And I'm not sure they really read my email because they reply me what look like a pre-formatted answer asking me to send my PHONE (seriously?) to a repair center in ANOTHER COUNTRY(travel fees at my charge) threatening me with the risk of having extra fees! (I actually already paid my tablet once I'll not pay more to have it fixed)
I'm actually bored (to be polite) of Sony's reaction.
When you have to deal with warranty people are looking at you like "hoo my god this guy is so picky! The tablet works it's just a little annoying sound".
And this is a real shame! (I bought a High-end tablet not a low cost one)
I just have to open any of your website to see the commercial propaganda about the premium tablet which is the xperia Z2 tablet. I read everywhere "Waterproof and DURABLE.", "Premium","Excellent build quality."... but it's actually not what it feel when you have a creaking tablet in the hand!
So I wanted to know if you build a premium tablet from which you can expect high quality finish and so want to find a solution?
Or you’re just selling a low end creaking tablet with a finish that doesn't worth 500€/£ ?
Is it too much to ask the possibility to drop the tablet at the place I bought it and have it repaired?

Unfortunately I have the exact same problem as you.
No one from Sony seems to be interested.
How the **bleep** can a flagship premium product like this be passed through quality control with such obvious problems!
The more people see me with this tablet the more they are put off the Sony brand and getting Apple iPads instead.
I paid so much yet I feel like I'm using a cheap toy because of the loose plasticy feel with creaking noises.
It's not rocket science to stick the back plastic properly or add some rubber spaces or something like that to avoid the creaking noises! I just don't understand how this can be overlooked.
I am extremely unhappy even though the tablet is quite amazing and thin and light and have all that technology crammed into it.
If I dont have any joy getting it replaced, it will be the last sony product I will buy and encourage others not to buy sony products again.

  • Clicking/creaking sound from computer

When using my computer for a while, the case begins making a clicking/creaking sound by itself for a few seconds. If I press on the case lightly around the keyboard and trackpad area, I can replicate this sound. Also, more recently, the trackpad has begun making a strange sound when it is tapped or clicked. The sound is like a 'spring' sound or a metallic sound like something is loose.
Does anyone know what could be causing this or have any suggestions on what I should do. I do have AppleCare but I do not want to contact them just in case it is nothing.
    Thanks.

    Anyone?

  • NO SOUND - Macbook Air (Mavericks 10.9.4)

Please guys, help me here! I made the update to Mavericks 10.9.4 in my MBA 2011 and now my MBA is always on mute...
    Some print screens with details:

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
    2. Run Software Update and make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
    3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
    4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
    5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
    6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
    7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
    8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
    9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
    10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
    11. Reset the NVRAM.
    12. Reset the SMC.
    13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/Audio
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Recreate your settings in the Sound preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    14. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data.
    15. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

  • No Sound iPad Air 8.1

    Hi,
suddenly, after upgrading to 8.0 I got sound issues on my iPad Air. No system sounds (Mail, typing, etc) and no game sounds. Youtube, Podcasts, Music, Videos sound is working correctly. No idea. 8.1 didn't help.
    Regards
    Götz

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7 or iOS 8. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • Hearing what sounds like air in the background

Hi, I have a Creative Sound Blaster Z (The gray/bare bones one) and I'm having an issue. I use a headset with attached microphone for my audio. I installed my sound card and plugged the 2 3.5mm jacks into the card in the rear panel and my mic and speakers work just fine. The problem is, I'm hearing a rather annoying blowing air like sound in video games and videos (including twitch.tv/Netflix as examples). The louder the sound the more the "air" intensifies also. Also, my Sound Blaster Z Control Panel does not load up when I run it. All the other creative programs work, just not the control panel. I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling several times. I have disabled all audio including onboard sound and graphic card sound. I also have the latest drivers. Everything works great except for this noise I'm getting in the background, it ruins everything. I'm thinking it's an option in the control panel I can adjust but I can't get into the audio control panel.
I have a Nvidia GTX 780 and Asus VI Hero Maximus mobo if that helps any.
Pretty much at a loss here. Really need some help guys. Thanks

    Hi Brenx,
Maybe the noise comes from your microphone. You may want to try to disable your microphone to see the the issue persists.
As for the problem of the Sound Blaster Z control panel not loading up, you may need to do a refresh of your Windows.

  • Creaking sound? Placing hands on pad?

Hey guys, I am very happy with macbook pro. I got the 15" with the 128mb video card. Pretty fast. Everything was going great until yesterday when I noticed creaking noises when I placed my left wrist on the pad to type. Kind of like that area where I place my hand is "caving in" but there is no physical damage, I dont see any damage at all. When I press there I can sometimes reproduce the sound. Does anyone else have this problem, and quick remedies? I guess the screws are loose just lateral to it?
    Thanks
    Mo

Nevermind. I took a small screwdriver, partially unscrewed and then screwed back in the screws on the left side. Creaking gone, I think.. we will see!
This is one awesome computer! I dont want it to suffer from something so dumb!
    Late!

  • Weird Creaking Sound Inside Laptop

I just revieved my computer today and when I went to get on it, it made this really faint creaking noise that comes and goes, but is never gone for more than a second. It almost sounds like it is coming from the disk drive, but I don't currently have anything in it, it's also not related to the fan I don't think, because when the fan blows harder, the creaking noise doesn't get worse or better.....Does anyone know what this might be?
