Create 1500 separate movies from a single timeline?

Hi,
I have received a request for a quote from a client who wants to have an actor read out 1500 names, each of which will need to be rendered out as separate movies from a single timeline in PPro, based on cue points that we will have to set manually. These individual movies will be used as input for an interactive flash based application, which will allow for senders to choose a name and have a seemingly personalised message read out by the actor.
Is this possible with Premiere Pro and/or Adobe Media Encoder? Or does a script exist for After Effects that does just that?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Richard

My guess is that you would export a single movie from Premiere then encode cue marks in FLASH into a Flash Movie to achieve that.

  • Can you separate movies from iPhotos?

Is there any way to just view all your movies in iPhotos? i.e. seperate movies from photos?
Also, does your movie data get stored in the iPhoto library in Pictures or in the Movies folder?
    Thanks

If I delete the new Movie Smart Album, do I delete all the movies in my library?
If you delete a smart album by ctrl-click and selecting "Delete album", the album will be deleted, but the videos will remain in your library. You should see this panel:
Deleting the album will not remove the videos from the events and any other albums where they are used.
The Movies seem to be in the new smart Album I've just created but not in the library...
Really? What do you see, when you select one of them in the smart album, ctrl-click it, and use the command "Show in Event"?
Do you want to delete the videos permanently? Then select the videos in the album and use ⇧⌘⌫ to delete them.

  • Best settings to make QT movie from 23.98 timeline projecting from MacBook

    Hi,
I want to screen a 4 minute FCP project to a big screen from a projector hooked up directly to my MacBook Pro.
Since the project is so small, I figure I can get a better image by playing the uncompressed file directly from my HD. Since I don't think I can get a full screen image from FCP, I plan to export the timeline as a QT movie and play that using QT in full screen mode. Correct so far?
Assuming I am, my question has to do with the FCP export settings to QT. Since the project was cut on a 23.98 timeline, would I gain anything by exporting to QT using the NTSC 48khz - 23.98 setting? Or would I get the same result using the standard NTSC 48khz (30 fps) setting?
In other words, since I'm not compressing the file for DVD, I'm wondering if I won't get a better QT image using export settings that match the project's FCP timeline settings?

Just to clarify, when you open an export to QT window from the FCP timeline, is QT default "current settings" smart enough to read the timeline and set those "current settings" to the optimal for that particular timeline?
For some reason I'd always assumed 'current settings' meant last settings, ie, wherever the QT settings was placed most recently. But from what you recommend, it would appear that this is not the case--that, in fact, the QT "current settings" default constantly readjusts to the specs of whatever project or timeline you're trying to import into it from FCP. Correct?

  • Lost ability to create final cut movie from sequence...

I'm on Final Cut Pro HD 4.5 and cannot create a Final Cut Pro movie from
a sequence. When I go to my export functions, I only get QuickTime options.
I made a Final Cut Pro Movie yesterday, so it does work. Any suggestions most welcome.
Additionally, in printing to tape (to PD150 Sony cam through firewire), the video captures fine, but the audio (aiff stereo tracks on track one and two) cuts out intermittently throughout recording. Again, any assitance most welcome.
    thank you.

Yes, just recently upgraded, so I got confused about the QT/FCP movie.
    Thank you.
In terms of the print to tape, I selected the file and went print to tape from
the created QT movie. Only small problem were two very small audio pops
on the tape that don't exist on the QT movie. Could it be a dirty deck head
or is there something I'm not doing?
Either way, thank you both for your help.

  • Create a DVD (Movie) From a Video Received via Email (???)

Someone is sending me a video of a family event via email; not yet sure what format it will be (.mov or whatever) and it's coming via a Windows computer. Assuming that the movie will play when the email arrives, how can I burn the movie to a DVD so I can play it back on a TV later on?
I suppose I'd drag it to my desktop, but from there I'm not at all sure how to burn it to a DVD so it will play as a movie on my TV's DVD player.
What app(s) do I use (?), and can someone provide some "See Spot run" instructions, as DVD burning is not my forte'.
    Thanks in advance!

+Why burn with Titanium (which I don't have) if I can burn with either iMovie or iDVD (depending on if I want to snazz it up)?+
Well, Toast has a few other things included which may come in handy and I've just gotten used to using it, but there is no need for it, especially for basic burning. So, yes, you can use iMovie or iDVD.
+As an alternative, can I go to iDVD>File>OneStep DVD From Movie (which I would have dragged to the desktop from the email)and do it that way?+
One-Step DVD is to transfer video directly from a camcorder to burn to a DVD (check iDVD help). I've never used that feature because I tend to do a lot of "snazzing" including customizing the themes, creating intros with several layers of video and live fonts, etc. But there is another possibility: Magic iDVD: "lets you create professional quality DVD with minimal effort" - again, check iDVD help; there are step by step instructions. I haven't used that feature either.
You might want to consider checking out the appropriate forums for both iMovie and iDVD for tips and/or questions - some very knowledgeable people hang out there. You'll find that with a little effort, you can create some really cool movies. And remember that both iMovie and iDVD only accept certain formats, so if you get an error or it won't let you drag it, run it through MPEG Streamclip first.
Edit: As an afterthought, I'm wondering if you will actually be able to get that movie via email - most ISP's impose limits on file size.

  • 'movie setting anomoly exporting a qt movie from Pro Res timeline

Shot something in HDV 1080i, captured it all as HDV Pro Res 422 HQ.
My timeline is HDV 1440 x 1080 . I export 'using QT conversion' to get a QT file to send to compressor and in the 'movie settings' box QT describes the 'size' as 608x456 ( current ).
Why does it reports the size as 608 x 456 as 'current', when the actual current size of the footage I'm exporting is 1440 x 1080?
My natural choice is to select the size which I know is 'current' 1440 x 1080.
This default 'movie setting' which QT offers me is re-sizing from 1440 x 1080 to 608 x 456, is this not bound to introduce degradation in the QT file?
Can anyone shed any light on this?
    Peter

Hi, well I already tried that workflow and I'm experimenting with this routine as it's advised on kenstone's site. Have you any idea why QT is mis-describing the 'current' dimensions of the footage ?

  • How to create multiple WIP jobs from a single Sales Order Line

    Hi all,
I want to know if there's a standard way to create multiple single unit wip jobs from a sales order line which has 2 or more units, i mean...
I have a sales order line with item A with 3 units. If I progress the sales order, a single job is automatically created in WIP with 3 units to be created. What i want is to create 3 jobs with one unit each, all of them linked to the sales line order...
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards!

    Assuming simplest of scenarios....
In case of changes to Sales order qty, an unplanned order will simply disappear.
If a wip job has already been created, you will get a cancel message (in case the job is not needed) or a reschedule out message (if the quantity needs to be reduced).
ASCP will give you a reschedule in /out message if the dates change.

  • ITunes  is creating multiple files/albums from a single album

    Hi,
I hope I can explain this clearly. For some unknown reason on SOME CD's I put in and on SOME music I've added to my library (from my HD) I've gotten multiple album covers for one album. Let me try that a different way, each song on a CD will be displayed in cover flow as it's own separate CD's so that if there are 10 songs on Bjork's album, I'll have 10 different albums coming up in cover flow for Bjork. It's frustrating when I'm trying to scroll and more so on my iPod.
Any suggestions? Can I fix it?
    Thanks.

    *HowTo: Grouping Tracks Into Albums*
Excuse the long post, but hopefully covering all the bases (that I can think of) will help you fix the other issues you are likely to run into as you try to organise your iTunes library.
    *Use an album friendly view*
iTunes will let you sort music on many columns, some of which are unlikely to group albums together. The most useful order for editing the library is probably *Album by Artist*. If you're not already there, select the list view and click on the column heading for Artist until it reads Album by Artist.
    *One cover, too many tracks*
The iPod (and iTunes to a lesser extent) conflates two or more albums with the same title, most obviously with *Greatest Hits*. On the iPod this can result in one album acting as a combination of two or more. Selecting any cover gives all the tracks of all albums with the same title. The workaround for this "Greatest Hits" bug is to give each album a unique title - I tend to go for *Album - Album Artist* as this reads clearly in the iTunes browser. Alternatively you could use the wording as it appears on the cover or append different numbers of spaces for each different album. Somewhat oddly, setting different values for Sort Album doesn't work.
*Album not with others by same artist*
iTunes relies on the Gracenote CDDB database when identifying CD's. This often marks collections or anthologies of an artist's work as a compilation. In iTunes, however, the compilation flag has the logical function of grouping together tracks with the same album name, but different artists on each track, e.g. "Now That's What I Call Metal 666!". These compilations are then all grouped together at the end of cover flow. Most of us however, would expect "Greatest Hits" albums to be listed with the other albums by the same album artist. For albums which are essentially by a single album artist or group it is best to set the appropriate value for the album artist and clear the compilation flag.
    *One album, too many covers*
Sadly the iPod ignores the Album Artist field when grouping albums which causes problems when some tracks list guest artists. You can simply mark the entire album as a compilation which seems to be the way iTMS handles it, however that's not an ideal fix. Short of waiting for Apple to address this issue (and as far as I can tell it goes back to the 1st gen. of iPods) we need a workaround. What I do is to put any additional artist info. in square brackets after the song name. E.g. *Track \[Feat. Guest\]* and then set *Artist=Album Artist* for each track. For anthologies where the Album Artist is credited as part of another group, e.g. for Cream tracks on an Eric Clapton anthology, I use *Track \[As Group\]*. For a track where the main Album Artist doesn't receive a credit, e.g. the first track of the Slim Shady LP credited to Jeff Bass, I just set the track name to *Track \[Guest\]* while still setting the artist to the album artist. N.b. I use square brackets to indicate this is not part of the actual song title and also use this style for Mix/Live/Bonus info.
*One album, still too many covers*
iTunes may split albums into two or more sections if some tracks from the album have different values for Artist, Album Artist, Album, No. of Discs or Part of a Compilation. Tiny differences such as trailing spaces, accented characters or variants of symbols can sometimes be quite hard to spot. The iPod is also more sensitive to case variations and may split or reorder an album that looks okay in iTunes. Normally overtyping the desired value for each shared field will complete the grouping of the album into one entity. Occasionally, however, this method seems to fail. When this happens I've found that you can force every field to update properly by adding some extra text - e.g. a trailing X, which once applied seems to complete the joining of the tracks into one album. Once this has happened the extra data can be removed and the album should remain properly grouped.
*Tried that, there are STILL too many covers!*
The Sort Artist, Sort Album & Sort Album Artist fields can be used to override the normal sort order. For example iTunes automatically drops leading prepositions (a/an/the) so "The Beatles" are arranged under "B" instead of "T". Occasionally different tracks from the same album can have different values in these sort fields which can also break up the grouping. Making the sort columns visible in iTunes can help with spotting & correcting such problems.
    *One cover for multi-disc album*
Multi-disc albums are often listed as *Album (CD1)* for CD 1, *Album (CD2)* for CD 2 etc. To display these properly using just one cover, each disc should have the correct *Disc X of Y* values set, and then the entire album should be given the single title Album. Being somewhat obsessive I also renumber the tracks sequentially, working backwards from the last track (so that no two tracks ever have the same number) until I reach disc 1. BTW You can still give the individual discs different artwork should it be relevant so that the correct artwork will be displayed as the album progresses.
    *One artist, many names*
With some artists, particularly classical composers, you should be aware of alternative representations of their names. E.g. 2Pac vs. Tupac. The menus will work best if for each artist you standardise on just one form of their name. E.g. make a choice between Mozart, W.A. Mozart or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and then apply it consistently. For classical music I tend also to use the Composer as the Artist & Album Artist and either discard the performer details or place these into the Comments field.

  • I bought my kids an itouch...however, it snyced to my account.  Is there a way to create a separate account from them and remove all of my information from the touch?

if i give my itouch to my son, how can i start from scratch with none of my info on it?  Additionally, i would like for him to have his own account but he isn't  old enoughby apple's rules, is there a way for him to have a sub account from mine?

Hopefully you moved the entire iTunes Media (or iTunes Music) folder to a new path on your external drive. Copy your iTunes library folder out to the root of the external drive, e.g. X:\iTunes (where X: is your external drive), then move the media folder inside it. Hold down shift as you start iTUnes and keep holding untila asked to choose or create a library. Choose the library at X:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl. Should all be good.
Failing that, download and run my FindTracks script and point it at the new location of your media folder.

  • How to create a Mix trk from my Audio Timeline?

I haven't created a Mix trk in a while, and I forgot how to collapse all the Audio Trks into one.  I remember there is a function in the Menus, but that's about it.
    Thank you in advance.

Thank you Jim for your answer.  I'm flattered that you think I'm hip to this technical shorthand.  Unfortunately I'm not in that League.  My goal is to give a Post house which did the color corrections a Mix trk to line up with the sequence, for making a Quick Time towards a DVD.
I'm curious about the "nesting" reference, because part of my question was :  will I have to clean up the Timeline of all the disabled clips I keep  - in case I want to go back to an old version -.  That is time consuming and I'd have to allow for it.
Many thanks for sharing your knowledge generously.

  • Create a Quicktime Movie from png frames

    Hi,
I have a camera set up that clicks off a photo every 10 min. I want to take these individual shots and make a single quick time movie out of them.
    Can quick time do that?
    Thanks,
    Steven

I am using an old Canon G3 camera and it came with a piece of software called RemoteCapture. It allows for interval shooting. It is pretty slick - i have it hooked up to an old G4 mac.
RemoteCapture software works for lots of Canon cameras - you can see screen-captures of it here:

  • How can I create a continuous movie from multiple slideshows in IDVD6

I have created 5 seperate slideshows in IDVD because I wanted to fit the audio with specific pictures and then play them all as 1 show. I can't figure out how to continuously play the entire 5 chapters in sequence. If I start 1 chapter, it will bring me back to the main menu instead of moving on to the next slideshow.
Please help! This is a surprise gift for my mother's 60th birthday on Wednesday!
    Thanks,
    Tim

Sorry, there is no way to link together slideshows like you have in iDVD.
iDVD 6 does let you create a slideshow of more than 99 images, but some DVD players have problems playing such a slideshow.
Another way to do this is to create your slideshows as ONE slideshow in iMovie.

  • Can No Longer Create A QT Movie From Downloaded Videos?

In the past, using QT Pro 7, when I downloaded a video tutorial I could ctrl-click and select "Save a QT Movie" to keep a copy of the video.
Now, with QT 10, I don't seem to be able to do that anymore.
    Is there a workaround?
Also, I quite like QT 10's ability to make movies of the whole screen, but is there a way to record just part of the screen or a window?
I have iShowU which can do these things, but it would be nice if QT 10 could also do it.

can open the video and watch it but I can't save it... I'm beginning to think it is something to do with Snow Leopard and/or QT 10.
I had no problem saving the 001 tutorial using both QT X and QT V7.6.3 Pro under Snow Leopard. My only complaint would be no longer having the option to save the files "as source" rather than in an MOV file container.

  • Best settings for creating a web mov. from a motion project

    Hi,
I have been trying to get a crisp image online, that doesn't take a age to load. I know it's possible as I have seen sites that seem to have their settings spot on.
I am using H264 codec, which greatly reduces the file size (although it's still about 4.5mb) and the once crisp looking motion project, now looks dull.
Can anyone help? I am very new to motion (and FCP). What codec should I set my sequence to before I import the motion project to FCP and then what settings should I use for compressor?
Your help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    You could also try Squeeze.
I've read that for highly compressed H.264 (doesn't matter for files that aren't), Squeeze has better quality. (would certainly like to hear other's experience - Squeeze seems a lot slower to compress from the review)
    Here's one review ( there's a more detailed review around somewhere )

  • Creating multiple flat files from a single source using Open Hub

    Hi All,
I am not sure if its a common scenario but we have a requirement where in we have to split the data in the target into 3 different flat files depending on certain conditions. For e.g.
If the value of an attribute in a record is A then I have to create a file, if it is B then another file and if it is C, then another file.
Is this possible to achieve through open hub? We have a requirement to load only delta records. Any inputs is appreciated and would be rewarded.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sundar

    Yes it is possible,
All you need to do is create 3 destinations each of type Flat file.
For your data target link to the and Open Destinations1, link by creating a transformation. and while create DTP use filter A.
Again for your data target link to the another Open Destination2, link by creating a transformation and while creating DTP use Filter B.
similarly for Open Destination3,  use Filter C.
