Create a desktop note like when a contact signs in msn messanger

i need some help
is there any way to create something like a note on the desktop containg some text like the one that msn messanger creates when a contact signs in or norton antivirus when waiting for confiramtion to scan an item
if not is there in general any way to show a message to the user that disappears after 10 seconds for example and don't look like common dialog box

-contain action listener
-put it at the south east of the screen

I do NOT like when I click "Find" that it opens in a separate window. I liked it being at the bottom left of the page and staying there. It's irksome the way it is.

Also, it is a little irksome that Firefox automatically uploaded the new 9.0 version. I was purposefully not uploading it. I thought it was loading updates to 8.0. You need to add more detail and have a way to give us an option not to update when the pop-up appears.

The Find bar is still at the bottom of the browser window, just above the Add-on Bar if you have it set to appear. No change with it in Firefox 9.0.

I have a iMac desktop and a macbook pro laptop I work mainly on the desktop but when i go away for work I take my laptop. Is there any way to make it automatically back up to mirror my desktop? Like when I update a file it updates on there too etc?

What is the error that you are seeing? Try to login using another App like GameCenter or iMessage? Also try logging in to other Apps like Facebook to check if it is your Internet connection problem.

Sounds like a major hardware problem.
If no change after restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, there is a hardware problem.

Desktop not showing when switching between vc ?

Hi.
I open the desktop in vc1 ( using startx ) then when I go to vc2 ( using ctrl + alt + f2 command) and come back to vc1 ( ctrl+alt+f1) , the desktop is not showing. No error but just not showing (terminal) , I have to terminate it and startx again to get desktop showing again.
Any suggestion ? ( I use openbox if that help)

Create a desktop shortcut link when right clicking in Firefox

When I use Internet Explorer and I right click when I am on any website, there is a Create Shortcut option for putting that website onto my desktop.
When I use Firefox and I right click when I am on any website, there is no such option.
I want to know how to insert that option into Firefox for right clicking for myself.

You can drag the favicon on the left end of the location bar onto the desktop to create a shortcut.
You can also use an extension.

Mountain Lion bug: Switching between virtual desktops not possible when using external screen only.

I think I have found a bug. I upgraded to Mountain Lion last week, 2 days after ML became available. My laptop is a Macbook Pro from November 2011. I ran Lion before and I did an upgrade on my laptop (not reinstall, but upgrade).
I have an external HP screen (24 inch) connected using DVI (standard connection). I also have an external Apple keyboard (bluetooth) and the external trackpad (bluetooth). I concider myself as a power user with long experience. I started using multiple desktops in Snow Leopard, and really liked the "4 finger swipe up" that came in Lion. By swiping 4 fingers up on the trackpad, I can see all "virtual desktops" on the top of the screen and select or more applications to the different screens.
This function does still work, but when I put the Macbook pro in "clamshell mode" (meaning the lid is locked and I am ONLY using the external screen), then this does not work. When I do the gesture (4 finger swipe up), the virtual desktops on top of the screen are not shown.
But if I open the Mac and then having 2 active screens, both the internal LCD on the Macbook Pro and the external HP screen, it works again. It does not matter which screen the "Finder many" is active on.
Picture below show how it is supposed to work. And it still works if no external screen is connected or if the external screen connected but the lid on the Mac is still open (not clamshell mode).
This is how it looks on the external screen when I do the "4 finger swipe up" and the Macbook Pro is in clamshell mode (lid down). Please also note how the background image is not minimized in the same way as before.
Have any other experienced the same problem ? Where do I report this to Apple ? Any e-mail or WEB pages where I can report bugs ?

As an update, I tried switching the main display to the MBP. Nothing changed.
However, I changed the rotation to 90 degrees and everything is back to Normal! Aside from the fact that I'm looking a 24" screen in the vertical position.

XFCE Desktop not updating when using conky.

Hello.
I wonder if anyone have this, rather small but for me annoying problem.
I use xfce. I've also put conky up on my desktop. When I login The icons for my trash, home for example is 'distorted' and only way I can remove it is by move the icon around over its misplaced area.
Can it be that conky interfering with the desktop? Conky is added to 'Autostarted applications' in xfce.
Check the screenie below, I've moved other icons but Trash is still looking bad.
EDIT: I also have the problem that when I've adjusted conky, do 'killall conky;conky' to restart it the old view still shows on the desktop.

Keyboard will not display when searching contacts. Why

When tring to find a contact from the search barin contacts, my keyboard will pop up to type in a name. Why?

Try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons until the white Apple logo appears.

My key pad not showing when editing contacts.

If no change after powering the iPhone on and off, try a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.

If you want any particular or number of fields output in UPPER case for an RT service, open the particular service related job in work space area-> open the particular query transform-> select the output schema -> select the field on which you want to apply UPPER case. In the field related Mapping area you will find the TABLE_NAME.FIELD_NAME structure, go to start of the TABLE_NAME in the same structure -> select FUNCTION..from the Function Category -> select String Function, from the function name select UPPER -> click Next, don't select anything from Input String drop down box simply click on Finish.
it will show you following structure:
UPPER()TABLE_NAME.FIELD_NAME , drag drop tablename.fieldname in UPPER function. After doing this it should show as:
UPPER(TABLE_NAME.FIELD_NAME)
Save the program and Execute..Output for particular field will display in UPPER case.

When I call someone and that person answers, the phone keeps ringing until the end of conversation. Any solution? Iphone 4S running IOS 7.1
This happens from IOS 7.0.4 -> 7.0.6 -> 7.1, since I brought the phone, and I brought 2 of them, same situation on both...
