  • URGENT-CREATE A HTML FILE WITH AN STRING INPUT FROM THE RUNNING JSP

    I am designing a web page where the user enters a page after entering his/her login and password.The User should now be provided with a display page containing the servers that he has permissions for access.The servers that he has permissions are maintained in a database(a normal text file in UNIX).
    Till now the program has been complete for displaying the servers that are available to him.
    I need to create a HTML form containing these servers names in a check box so that when the user clicks thcheck box against the server name it should go to the server and get the password for the required server.
    THe intention from me is to create a HTML file that dynamically takes values from the running JSP means the server names as a string value to its input and then i can continue
    Please guide me in creating a HTML form based on the string output from the running JSP
    FileInputStream fs = new FileInputStream("/root/Auth_Application/User_Access_List");
    DataInputStream in1 = new DataInputStream(fs);
    int fl=0;
    while (in1.available() !=0)
    String str1=in1.readLine();
    StringTokenizer st1 = new StringTokenizer(str1);
    String usernam=st1.nextToken();
    if (usernam.equals(uname))
    String ip=st1.nextToken();
    String host=st1.nextToken();
    fl=1;
    out.println("<tr><td>                                                                                              "+ host + "</td><td> " + ip +"</td></tr>");
    if (fl == 0)
    out.println("YOU HAVE NO SEVRER IN YOUR PROFILE !");
    in1.close();
    The host string here is the server name
    the ip is the ip address of the server
    Need to input these values to another HTML page that contains the check box list of the servers .
    once these are clicked i think i can pass on this to another JSP and retreive passwords
    Please guide me in this

    FileInputStream fs = new FileInputStream("/root/Auth_Application/User_Access_List");
                                    DataInputStream in1 = new DataInputStream(fs);
                                    int fl=0;

                                    String ip=st1.nextToken();
                                    String host=st1.nextToken();

                                    if (fl == 0)
                                    out.println("YOU HAVE NO SERVER IN YOUR PROFILE !");
                                    in1.close();I feel sorry for the inconvenience that is caused as i am new to using these forums.
    I have here used a simple program to retreive the names of the servers that the users have acess to..
    I have here read the servername and server ip stored from a file in UNIX in the running JSP.Now i need to pass these string variables to HTML file and display it in a Check box format.the strings host and ip have to be passed to the input of the HTML file so that they can further be processed once they are clicked using another JSP.
    Can anybody please help me in Passing these strings from the running JSP and display it in a check box format

  • Creating an xml file from recordset

    Hi...
    XML newbie here - so.
    Is it possible to create and xml file from a recordset?
    I need to create a datafeed of our e-commerce products.
    Also, some of the db data contains HTML Code (product
    description field),
    how will this effect the xml file?
    Another problem is that my xml file needs to contain url's
    for the products
    and product images. My ASP pages contain these URL in hard
    code and then
    pull the actual file names from the db
    Hope that makes some sense
    Thanks for any help
    Andy

    Hi David
    Thanks for your help.
    I think it will have to be option 1 as i am using Access DB.
    I don't know how to go about it but will serach good old
    Google.
    Here is my recordset below, that pulls the required data from
    Access.
    The product and product image URL's need to be in the xml
    file but only the
    product image name and product id are in the database, e.g
    image name
    (imagename.jpg) productid (21)
    The actual URL's are hardcoded in my ASP pages, e.g <img
    src="products/medium/<%=(RSDetails.Fields.Item("Image").Value)%>"
    Not sure if this makes things any clearer :-|
    Thanks Again

  • Write HTML Files from java application

    Hello,
    i have to write HTML files from a java application.
    I am asking if anybody can give me a hint about a good simple solution (library) which can do some of the job for me.
    i know FOP for example is good to create pdf or html from xml, but i dont want to go via xml.
    the sites i need are really very simple presents emails.
    body and maybe a link for next and pervious.
    however, thank you in advance.
    a little hint will also help :)
    Sako.

    That, too, is my question.
    Be the "server" local or remote, wouldn't JSPs still
    be the easier solution? No. it will not. because you need a server. Server for a stand alone application is not esier. according to who said JSPs are easy?
    Its very very difficult.
    >
    When answering, please clarify. I'm a bit of a newbie
    here. :)To get sence about how hard is JSP, check Struts. this is very good open source Framework to simplify the JSPs. but it still complecated enough.
    or Tapestry my lovely open srouce Framework.
    its easier than Struts. but sill complecated because of the documentation.
    All in all, using JSP is the purpose of Java in the internet. but not for me. My application will not be available in the internet, i.e. no server, i.e. no need for JSP.
    i hope that helps a little.

  • Create an excel file from java

    I am using Jakarta's POI to create an excel file from MySql. The POI works well when a samll amount of data was written from MySql (created .xls file less than 3500KB). The problem is when a large amount of data need to be written to an excel file, java.lang.OutOfMemoryError Exception in thread "main" appears. In my project, I really need to have a large amount of data to be wriiten ton excel file. Do somebody has good solution for it?
    Thanks

    What about using some text files like csv
    (comma-separated value) file? It is plain text but
    Excel (and other spreadsheet programs) will be able to
    read it.
    But then there will be no formatting and bells and
    whistles. It was just an idea.Excel will also read HTML <TABLE>'s, with full formatting. There are some extra tags for numeric formatting, also. Just create an HTML table, and save to a file with .xls extension, e.g.:
    <TABLE>
    <TR bgcolor="#00FF7F">
    <TH>Agency ID</TH>
    <TH>POS ID</TH>

    <TH>System Manufacturer</TH>

  • Anyway to create a domain file from the published site?

    My friend and I both use iWeb. She created a site and her hard drive has since crashed. I am trying to see if there is a way to make a domain file from what's on the web without going through creating a page again. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the discussions. No, there's no way to create a domain file from the published site. If she doesn't have a backup of her Domain file (e.g. via Time Machine), paragraph 2.3 of this FAQ page gives some tips on how to use published files, graphics, photos, etc., to help rebuild the site from scratch:

  • Calling html file from Forms 10g

    Hi,
    I am working in forms 10.1.2.0.2 in the unix server. I have a push button in which I'm creating a html file as under:
    MYFILE := TEXT_IO.FOPEN('/tmp/ab.html','W');
    When I click the push button, the above file gets created in the tmp directory. But it does not open. Could someone please let me know how to get it to view from my forms. I am using the following command but its not working:
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://formsserver:port/test_virtual_dir/ab.html','_BLANK');
    Thanks

    hmm....
    I assume you have 10g AS installed in Unix.
    Go to $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server
    edit the forms.conf with your virtual directory values similar to
    AliasMatch ^/forms/java/(..*) "/opt/oracle/product/10gas/forms/java/$1
    And to test without any virtual configuration , I would try writing the html file to the folder "/opt/oracle/product/10gas/forms/java" and use
    http://www.Alexyscorp.com/forms/java/myfile.htm
    Also note that u might need to add the hostname as a trusted site otherwise new version of IE wont allow to open.

    Generally when creating a Word file from either a Mac or Win7 pc and opening it on two different machines (either one first) it always prompts that the file is open and will be opened as read only.
    However opening a CSS file does not prompt that it is already open on or from any machine which is causing code edits to be lost.
    What we found from out testing:
    - The file can be saved from one user to the server and WILL NOT PROMPT on other machines until the saving machine has the Dreamweaver program closed completely
    - The file can be closed and  Dreamweaver minimised to the launch bar but it still will not register on other machines that it has been changed.
    - Also, until the  Dreamweaver program is closed on the machines, it will continue to open it's saved version of the file.
    Example Scenario:
    - User 1 opens test.css (which is 2000 lines) and adds some code to the end of the file to bring it up to 2500 lines
    - Meanwhile User 2 opens test.css as well (opens as 2000 lines as User 1’s edits have not yet been saved) and adds in code to bring it to 2300 lines
    - User 1 saves his file and closes it - but  Dreamweaver is still open.
    - User 2 also saves his file and leaves  Dreamweaver  open.
    - The server will report the size and last edit of the file the same as User 2 as he was the last person to save it (and if you open from the Win7 Machine it will show as User 2’s 2300 line version)
    - If User 1 then open's the file again (from either the 'recent' in Dreamweaver OR clicking on the file directly in Finder...which version opens.... The version that User 1 saved! Not the true version on the server, but the version that User 1 edited and saved with 2500 lines in it.
    - Same for User 2, he will open 'his' version with 2300 lines in.
    Other information:
    - Files are opened directly from the server
    - Sometimes the users will save incrementally and re-open
    - Most of the time users will save incrementally and keep the files open
    - The users will never not save incrementally and just save when closing the file once finished
    - The users are usually working on the files all day
    - It is always the bottom lines of code that are lost. It could be a case of the two versions being mixed up and cutting off the newly added lines based on the line count (possibly).
    It is as if Dreamweaver is holding a cache of the version locally and then only properly looking back to the server when it has been completely closed. It is very difficult to see how the server is causing such an impact on these files, there are very few logs which are giving any indication to the root cause of the problems.
    Anyone know if this is a known issue?
    Is there a way that there can be a featured implemented on the server that doesn't allow another user to open a file if it is already open on another machine?
    Thanks

    Your server file handling has nothing, and really nothing to do with Adobe software. If files don't get locked for (over-)writing and/or lose connection to the program opening them, then your server is misconfigured. It's as plain and simple and that. Anything from "known file types"/ file associations not being set correctly, MIME types being botched, crooked user privileges and file permissions, missing Mac server extensions, delayed file writing on the server, generic network timeout issues and what have you. Either way, you have written a longwinded post with no real value since you haven't bothered to provide any proper technical info, most notably about the alleged server. Either way, the only way you can "fix" it is by straightening out your server and network configuration, not some magic switch in Adobe's software.

    Hi,
    I need to create a html file on a websphere server and after I work with it I need to delete the html file. I can create this file but when I'm trying to delete the it, doesn't work. If this file is not a html file it works, why?

    hi,

    fo.close();
    fo = null;

    <%!
         public void finalize(){
              System.out.println("Deleted!!");
    %>
    and tell me , you know anything more..
    ( I could think of only closing of the file, other wise , the file was not deleting untill the Garbage collector was called on the servelt)
    Once the garbage collector runs and destroyes your servlet , then in the
    subsequent request (code with delete) used to work..
    If you know more .. Let me know

  • Is there a way to run a script to create an RPD file from MDS XML files

    We would be interested in using the MDS XML format for the RPD file in saving it in our Subversion source code control system, and I have seen how to do this in the User documentation.
    Our question is whether or not there is a way to use a command line tool to recreate the rpd file without having to use the Admin tool, so that we can automate the deployment of the RPD file from source code control to QA and Production environments.
    If we check in the RPD file directly, then there is a way to automate the process, but we would prefer to use the MDS XML format since this allows us to save changes in text format, not binary, but we still need to be able to automate the process.
    In the Oracle Fusion Middleware XML Schema Reference for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition document, I have found that there is a way to automate the creation of the MDS XML files from an RPD file using this command:
    biserverxmlgen -M -R repository_pathname [-P password] -D output_directory [-8] [-N] [-Q|-S]
    So my question is basically is there a way to reverse this process, to use some command line tool (or Weblogic Scripting or some other mechanism) to create the RPD file from the MDS XML files? Are there options on the biserverxmlexec command that will do what I am asking?

    Hey dmfairley,
    Thanks for the question. You can absolutely export the project as .mp3, as outlined in this resource:
    GarageBand Help: Export songs to disk
    http://help.apple.com/garageband/mac/10.0/#gbnd7cbf5ed9
    Export songs to disk
    You can export a project to your computer as a stereo audio file.
    Exported files can be reused in GarageBand to save processing resources by replacing or bypassing multiple regions, instruments, and effects. They can also be used with other music applications and devices, posted on the Internet (on a webpage, or in the iTunes Store, for example), added to an iTunes playlist, or uploaded to a mobile device such as iPhone or iPad.
    1. Choose Share > Export Song to Disk.
    2. To rename the exported file, select the name in the Save As field, then enter a new name.
    3. Choose a location to save the exported file from the Where pop-up menu.
    4. Select the format for the exported file (AAC, MP3, or AIFF).
    5. Choose the quality setting for the exported file from the Quality pop-up menu.
    6. Click Export.
    Thanks,

    <password>xxxx</password>

    Let us assume you have all the data from the jsp form in an java bean object..
    Now you want a xml file. This can be acheived in 2 ways
    1. Write it into a file using java.io classes. Say you have a class with name
    write("<name>"+obj.getName+</name>);
    bingo you have a flat file with the xml
    2. Use data binding to do the trick
    will recommend JiBx and Castor for the 2nd option
