Create a Multiple Files using PL-SQL

Hi Experts,
I have a table which contains 360 records and want to create multiple files with each file containing 12 records.
I tried to use the below code, however was unsuccessfull..
Please help!!!!
DECLARE
   num      NUMBER             := 1;
   f_file   UTL_FILE.file_type;
   row_sm   NUMBER             := 0.00;
CURSOR c_cur
   IS
      SELECT   customer_key, all_columns_concat
          FROM demo;
c_rec    c_cur%ROWTYPE;
BEGIN
   OPEN c_cur;
   LOOP
      FETCH c_cur
       INTO c_rec;
     EXIT WHEN c_cur%NOTFOUND;
      WHILE num = c_rec.file_num
      LOOP
         f_file := UTL_FILE.fopen ('DM_DIR', 'FILE_' || num, 'w', 3267);
         num := num + 1;
      END LOOP;
      UTL_FILE.put_line (f_file, c_rec.all_columns_concat);
      row_sm := c_rec.sum_row + row_sm;
   END LOOP;
   UTL_FILE.fclose (f_file);
  CLOSE c_cur;
END;
Regards,
RaviR.

Thanks Ramin,
Your Code really helped. I am now not getting no errors and files are also being created. However, if I replace the UTL_FILE with DBMS_OUTPUT, I get below output. In your code i replaced 12 with 3. Hence its dividing after 3 rows. (with 1st row duplicated)
Output
1
1
2
3
========================================
4
4
5
6
========================================
7
7
8
9
========================================
10

11
12
========================================
13

Now my concern is that i my table I have a flag which determines the seperation...
Column1
File_Num
1
1
2
1
3
1
4
2
5
2
6
2
7
3
8
3
9
3
10
3
11
3
Hence if the file_Num is 1 it will go to File1, file_num=2 will be written to File2 and so on.
Please help me to get this logic.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
RaviR

    U need :
    1) To have UTL_FILE_DIR param in the init file of the instance with the same directory (don't forget to stop and restart the base)
    2) Handled the exceptions listed in the utl_file package (Oracle_home\rdbms\admin\utlfile.sql) in your source.
    3) Turn set serveroutput on in SQL*Plus.
    Run your procedure and see the error message to debug.

  • How do I create a binary file using PL/SQL

    Hi
    Can you help me with writing a binary file in PL/SQL? I like to load binary data from data file, process in database then write to a new binary file.

    DBMS_LOB won't help you write a BLOB to disk.
    You need to an external procedure to do that. Eric K's java works great and he's helped me with his solution and probably about a thousand others.
    Doing a search on this forum will yield many discussions on this often regurgitated topic.

  • Creating Files Using PL/SQL?

    Hi,
    Is there a way to create a file using PL/Sql? It seems that the
    utl_file package doesn't allow you to create a file. It only
    allows you to read, write to a file that already exists there.
    Thanks
    Vic

    Make sure the following is set in the init.ora:
    UTL_FILE_DIR = /path/to/your/file/directory (for unix)
    or
    UTL_FILE_DIR = <drive>:\path\to\your\file\directory (for windows)

  • Can't create a multiple file PDF from PDF forms created in Designer

    Hi
    I want to create a single PDF which combines 6 pdf forms created in Adobe Designer (all as separate pages).
    When I try to create a single PDF from these multiple files using the "Create a PDF from Multiple files" command, my A-3D won't let me do this returning a dialog box saying
    "The file "filename.pdf" is protected. It cannot be used for this command".
    I can't find any properties that control this, either in the original file or in A-3D. Can I overcome this and how?
    Many thanks in anticipation.
    Phil

    Designer-created files aren't really PDF files any more and cannot be
    edited or combined in Acrobat (including Acrobat 3D). You CAN make a
    package of them, however, in Combine Files.

  • Downloading BLOB to a file using pl/sql toolkit

    Created an Oracle Reports RDF file using the reports builder (9.0.2.x).
    Uploaded the file into the database in a BLOB column using the following code:

    The answer to this problem was to set the NLS_LANGUAGE for the DAD to an 8-bit character set since the database charset was 8-bit. It seems, by default, the web toolkit assumes a 7-bit character set.

  • Create from multiple files - some pages repeat or disappear

    Hello from Colorado. I am using Acrobat 6.0 Pro and have experienced some strange behavior when I try to create from multiple files. I created my basic one-page form and then completed 8 pages of answers, saving each page as an individual file (form_p1, form_p2, etc). When I tried to assemble all of the pages with the create from multiple files, I got two page one and my page two disappears -- all the other pages (3 thru 8) processed normally. I have tried saving my files with different names and then combining -- but with the same results. I have also tried to combine pages 2 thru 8 first and then add page 1 at the end -- in this case my page one disappeared and I got another page 2! I have checked all of the document properties and I cannot see anything amiss. I have used create from multiple files before without incident, but this time I'm stuck. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

    Did the forms contain fields with the same name?

    Yes, you could try using the multipart handler...
    But I have a better idea...
    Determine the maximum number of file uploads that the
    user can do at one time. I mean, you can't
    realistically have the user upload a million files at
    one time. So say the max is 20. So you create your
    action form class with 20 FormFile fields called file1
    to file20.
    Then when you dynamically create your page, you
    dynamically create the specified number of file fields
    and 1 hidden field called "totalFiles" which contains
    the number of file fields you created. This should be
    an int field in the form bean.
    Then when you do your action processing, you just loop
    thru the totalFiles... Or well, actually, you may not
    need that at all. You could just check all the
    FormFile fields and whatever ones aren't null contain
    files.But what about UploadActionForm.java[b]
    How do i have exact mapping of the HTML form in this file ??

  • Trying to create a certificate file using keytool -help!

    Hi, I've followed a series of instructions using Terminal to create a certificate. Terminal produced a file and when i open it using Text Edit its about 20 lines long worth of code. I was hoping it would provide a certificate I could use. Maybe it has, I just don't know what I'm looking for!
    Im working in Viewer Builder and I'm in the Provisioning tab trying to enter the "Application ID"
    I'm totally stuck here. Please help!

    I'm using DPS pro. My app is for Android but won't be going as far as Google Play or Amazon. It's for internal use so I want to create an APK file to distribute via email. These are the set of instructions I'm following. I'm struggling to get this to work. What should I see when this has worked? Also what do I need to enter for the Application ID?
    Thanks or your help
    (Mac OS) Create a certificate file using Keytool
    Open Terminal, which is located in the Applications > Utilities folder.
    Type (or paste) the following line (replace “myname.key.p12” with the actual name of your certificate):
    1
    keytool -genkey -v -keystore myname.key.p12 -alias alias_name -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -storetype pkcs12 -validity 10000
    Specifying “10000” sets the expiration date after 22 October 2033.
    Enter and reenter a password. Until the Viewer Builder supports the creation of custom Android apps, it's necessary to share this password with Adobe. Create a password that you can share.
    Follow the prompts to specify the certificate information.
    When prompted to confirm choices, enter yes, and then press Return to use the same password.
    A certificate is created in your prompt location, such as your user name folder. Copy this certificate file to a known location. Write down the password as well.
