Create a new event in a calendar

Hello,
I have some calendars but I cannot create a new event just clicking on
a day.
I can do it from the ribbon,events,new event,but it's not as convenient.
Do you know, what could be wrong?

I can add that the problems shows up with Internet Explorer (version 11). With Firefox it works fine. Besides, it is connected to AAM. Indeed, if use as an url Alternate Access Mapping I cannot click on the day, while if I access the site with the
server name all works fine.

As mentioned by Cameron there are couple of known issues with 64 bit version of IE,
try with 32 bit version of IE also, Please also try adding your SharePoint site AAM URL
in trusted sites zone
from IE11.

I understand that your calendar events are appearing in GMT on your calendar in Yosemite. This was a fix in iOS 8.2 for iCloud calendars. I would suggest that you make sure all of your devices are updated to the current software release to help resolve the issue.

Creating a new event in my Calendar on my iPhone then event doesn't appear

I've had issues lately with creating events on my iPhone. I'll create one, and then when I hit done, it doesn't appear in my calendar, and I have to create it again. I've noticed it often happens when I try to set an alert with it. Very few times will it appear after the first time I create the event. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What have y'all done to deal with this issue? Thanks in advance.

See if you can go to your Calendars App and select a previous event to see what Calendar the event was added to (iCloud or Yahoo). After that is determined you can go to www.iCloud.com or calendar.yahoo.com and add the event there to see if it will populate on your device. Another troubleshooting step is deleting the iCloud account from your device and also deleting the Yahoo account. Then check to see if you can add an event without it syncing to a email. If you can then it may have just been a bug and you can add both accounts back and try adding the event again. I would also recommend only using one service to sync your Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. Such as either iCloud only or Yahoo only, as using multiple accounts means your data is spread around and can be hard to isolate when something goes wrong.

Well, i have read... that creating an icloud account... and log in successfully... and that will solve the "+" problem... but i don't if you want to try that.. is free though... =D

How do I create a new event entry for a specific calendar?

In my iMac Calendar app, I have created a few calendars for different functions. But every time I try to create a new event entry for a specific calendar, the app seems to prefer a different calendar instead by default. I cannot enter events in other calendars. Is there a way to do this? In previous versions, I would highlight the particular calendar I wanted to work with and the entry would go into that calendar. Thanks!

You don't. Moments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.
When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.

Can't create "new event" in icloud calendar

When I want to create a "new event" this is waht happens. It says "couldn't create an event" because of server error. When I click report this window opens.
It is happening to 4 other people that I know. What is going on with icloud???

I have a client that is getting the same error message when trying to add a new calendar entry at icloud.com.

Seems pretty basic but how is a new event entered into Calendar...what are the steps?

Open the calender app. Go to the day you want and double touch it. (depending on what view you are using, this will open up the day). At the bottom right of the screen there is a little+ sign. Touch it to create a new event.

Can't create a new event in iCal

Odd thing is happening in iCal when creating a new event, clicking on the plus button creates a new calendar and not an event.
When clicking on the day and from the pop up menue clicking new event I get an error message relating to mail?
Doesn't happen all the time but very frustrating when in does. Is there a fix?

This is normal. You can create a new event by double-clicking within the day in any of the views (in Day or Week view double-click on the time for the event): select the calendar you want to add to in the sidebar first.

Assuming you're creating this event to place in your calendar, and assuming this calendar is shared with your iMac and iPad using iCloud, might the calendar be restricted on your iPhone?
Check Settings > General > Restrictions

New event on Wiki Calendar always saved a day behind

I just did a fresh installation of Leopard Server & updated to 10.5.6 .
Group wiki, blog and calendar are displaying as expected. I noticed that whenever I created a new event, the event date will be saved a day behind the selected date in the Event dialog window. For example, if I want to create an event on 3rd Jan 2009, I would have to set it on 4th Jan 2009.
My time zone is Asia/Kuala Lumpur and time server is time.asia.apple.com .
Any ideas ?

Ways around it :
1. Create an event with a duration (at least 5 min). You can have it begin at 12:00am if you want to.
2. Create an all day event which MUST begin on or after 08:00am . Anything before this will be marked in the previous day box (even though the date and time values are as the way you have entered). I tried creating an all day event beginning from 07:55am and it was marked in the calendar a day behind. So 08:00am is the magic number.
Question : Is 08:00am regarded as a new day in iCal server ?

How can I create a new event without it automatically being an all-day event?

When I create a new event in iCal, it automatically creates an all-day event. (By create, i mean double-clicking in the month view.) Is there any way to change it back to hourly when you create an event, like in Snow Leopard? Although this is easy to get around, it's just annoying as I rarely create all day events.

I was really frustrated by this change in Lion as I prefer to use the month view and I hate the way it defaults to an all day event. So I was very pleased to find this solution in the Mac OS X Hints. Simply type "Dinner at 6 pm" and it enters "Dinner" at 6 pm for one hour. If you want anything other than an hour, put "6 - 8 pm" (or whatever period you want. Brilliant. Just wish Apple figured out a way to tell me that without having to search the communities here for an answer.

I can't add a new event to my calendar on iPhone. The plus sign is greyed out and even when I try it with Siri it says "Sorry. I can't do that right now". I did my due diligence and searched all over the forums and internet and I can't fix this. There was a listing in a forum where a lady had this same symptom but it looks like toggling iCloud worked for her. Not for me. I went into Settings>iCloud and turned off Calendar and then turned it back on. Still nothing. I even went to iCloud Backup and turned it on then back off and still nothing. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Why do my events change in the day view, when I create a new event? (iCal for iPad 2)

Every time I create a new event in the day view in iCal on iPad, the other events (which I created before for the same day) change their starting and/or their ending time.

You are getting entagled in the two confusing meanings of the term pixels, namely as a unit identical to points and equalling 1/72 inch, and the basic component of raster images (and effects).

Since downloading Firefox 4, I am having problems archiving gmail conversations from my inbox view. Also, when I go to enter a new event in google calendar, I now have to click the cursor in the box to type the event (it used to let me just start typing).
