Create a New Realm in OID on windows Platform

Hi
I am trying to create a new realm using the following doc located at
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_as_10g/im/realm_mng/realm.htm
but this doc gives instructions about executing shell scripts which is not possible in windows.
I got cygwin(Unix Emulator) but since this is a windows installation some files instead of being shell scripts get converted to bat for example the script searches for ldifmigrator whereas we have only ldifmigrator.bat
Please advice that can we get an equivalent doc for windows 2000 installation of OID

Now I need to create a realm in LDAP using JAZN-LDAP. Ideally this would also be through jazn.jar. I've tried several commands

You can't create a subfolder in Sent. Mail does this automatically for each account you set up. If you wish to organise messages you send by some criteria or other, why not consider a Smart Mailbox?
I assume by your second question you mean can you change the columns in the message viewer? Yes you can. You select View -> Columns and check the ones you want. You can adjust the order of the columns by dragging the titles around in the message viewer.
If you didn't mean this, maybe you could explain what you are after in a little more detail.

Create a New Contact in the same window

I want to create a New Contact from the Quick Create Link and want it function in the same way that the "New" / "Copy" Button functions
Currently:
Quick Create Link opens a Contact in a New Window.
Requirement:
Contact should open in the same window. Also, I want this function to work from the Quick Create Link on the Action Bar.
Any thoughts? can we achieve this using some javascript?

How to create a new attribute in OID and auto-populate it during sync from AD

Hi,
I'm new to OID and we are planning to set up AD to OID sync and we need to create an extra attribute in OID that we do not have currently in AD. We need to concat 4 attributes with "." in between and populate this new attribute.
If anyone has done something like this, can you please give me the steps involved and/or any examples?

I think you need to create a custom plugin to create the value of new attribute and populate it, may be post plugin in OID.

I am trying to learn LDAP on Oracle server.
As per Oracle documentation,i can install OID on windows server.I couldn't find all oid related commnad to start/shutdown/monitor server. On top of that, in LDAP directory, there are plenty of .sh file. What's the use of .sh file in Windows enviornment ?

hi,
The commands to start OID processes are "oidmon" and "oidctl", which are installed in ORACLE_HOME\bin when you choose OID from the 8i EE cd-rom.
When you install OID on NT, a service called "OracleDirectoryService" is installed in your control panel services (Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Services). You can start the OID processes from there.
The command line method of running these commands is documented at:

The .sh file are indeed unix shell scripts, and to run them you would need a unix shell for NT (such as Cygwin).

I've been using FCP 7 on my iMac for quite some time with great success. Lately I created a new project and the browser window does not format properly (it's O.K. for previously created projects). The effects window is also not displaying properly.

Help! My browser window is suddenly not formatting properly. (losing browser formatting, glitch, bug) I'm using FCP 7 on an iMac with OS X 10.8.5 and have been successfully doing so for a couple of years. I fear my Final Cut Pro is corrupt and I have to re-install. Anyone ever see this problem? Old projects display and behave fine in the browser, but any new project I create, totally loses the formatting in the browser and the browser also does not display the "effects" window properly anymore. Creating a new photo album on a windows vista computer

i have read a few different posts and finally realized that albums can only be created on your PC then transferred to your phone, or by using an app. but im not sure how to do that. i have a ton of photos on my computer but dont want them all on my phone, if someone could help that would be great. or if you are someone who uses an app and knows of a good one that works well that would be good too

The pics sync ( photo library - pics synced to iphone from computer) is one way - computer to iphone.
Your camera roll pics ( pics taken with/saved from iphone) are imported to your computer as you would from any digital camera.

I'm trying to create a new realm using oiddas. I'm getting the following error message:
"Cannot Modify Identity Management Realm : [LDAP: error code 19 - Two realms cannot reference the same DN in orclcommonusersearchbase. ]" What does it mean, and how do I get past it?

I think that U try to modify your default realm.
Here U 've an indication about Realm:
What is a "Realm" as it relates to Oracle Identity Management? In a nutshell, a realm is the location in the directory where all of your user and group context resides in OID.
After you install the 10g AS infrastructure you will have a default realm already configured and ready to use. During installation you would have selected a value for your Infrastructure domain. If you accepted the defaults during installation of your infrastructure, your realm will be set to the domain of the machine you are on. Typically this domain will look something like this:
dc=acme,dc=com
This domain is also referred to as the default identity management realm.
Therefore your default users will be located in:
cn=users,dc=acme,dc=com
Your default groups will be located in:
cn=groups,dc=acme,dc=com
For most deployments the default realm is all you will ever need to manage all of your users, groups and applications.
Some people are under the impression that they need to separate all of their users and applications in order to better manage their infrastructure. This is simply not necessary even if you import user and group identities from other LDAP directories. Using DAS you can delegate administration of users and groups without separating them into different realms.
Some reasons why you may want to create a new realm
- Separate password policies for member entries
- Different User Communities (One for employees and one for customers)
- Different naming attributes
- Different sets of services provisioned
- Different user schema definitions
Aside from these reasons you probably do not need to configure additional realms for your users, groups and applications.

Anyone know how I can create a new documents folder in my home folder? I accidently deleted it. Nothing was in it, so I don't need to recover it. I just want a new empty documents folder.
Actually, never mind. I solved the problem myself.
At first I created a folder in the sidebar, and it didn't have the documents icon on it. I just solved the problem by deleting that icon, then creating a new folder in the main window, naming it "documents", and then the documents icon appeared. Then I dragged it to the sidebar and it created a copy there.

My mistake. I was able to create a new documents folder without any throuble.

I need another administrator as orcladmin for create an new tree in OID 11g which groups and right must this administrator have?

Although you can create a superuser account that is able to manage entries, it won't be able to do so using ODSM until 11g Patchset 4.
What this means is that you may use ldapbind/ldapmodify/ldapadd/ldapdelete commands with this new user to do the same operations that you would normally only do using the superuser, but that until a future patchset (currently slated for 11g patchset 4), this user will not be able to login to ODSM.
Attempts to login to ODSM as this new user will fail with:
Error:
ODSM allows only super user to connect to OID.
Connected user is not a super user.
Identify the groups that the superuser is in, as follows:
ldapsearch -p <OID_port> -h <OID_host> -D "cn=orcladmin" -w <pwd> -b "" -s sub "uniquemember=cn=orcladmin" dn
Create a new user entry, to be used as the second superuser.
Add this user as a uniquemember to all the same groups returned in. This can either be done manually, or via the ldapmodify/ldapadd command with an LDIF file with the following syntax:

dn: cn=odisgroup,cn=odi,cn=oracle internet directory
changetype: modify
add: uniquemember
uniquemember: cn=myadmin,cn=users,dc=myorg,dc=com

Informatica Repository Server Admin Console-Not creating a new repository

Hello, On Windows2000 server, As I am trying to create a new repository, the repository creation window just never disappears after I click OK. I have entered all information on all tabs. But repository is not getting created. I have tried this many times. Any ideas?

The Repository can only be created using the Repository Server Administration Console.

My problem is when I click the button it gives an error as the following.
The Web application at http://thekingsbury/ could not be found.
Verify that you have typed the URL correctly.
If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application.
The error shows at the following statement.

I created both Windows & Web solutions and the result was the same.
