Create a pdf with all the fonts embed in indesign CS6

Hi,
I created a ps from Indesign CS6 & CS7 with all fonts embed,
and drop it on to distiller and made a PDF. Where upon font seem to split into outline, but random as done files for this job and no dramas at all using same fonts/indesign and distiller setting.
any ideas to resolve this?

Please check the Distiller PDF settings and make sure Embed fonts option has been checked.

I know what your'e going through, Gary.   OSX 10.6.7 is an absolute disaster.   Since I upgraded, I've had problems in FCP, Logic, Garageband, even issue dealing with peripheral hardware like external monitors.
Before 10.6.7 my system was running fine.
I've brought this up with Apple repeatedly.   They smile and shrug.   They've been helpful resolving the issues, but none of them has been easy to solve. I have spent days, dealing back and forth with tech support, sending logs, etc., before solutions have been found.
I wish I could give you an answer to your question.   My only guess is that Apple has totally dropped the ball on this one.   In the future they should provide a disclaimer when they offer an upgrade. Something like:   "Caution: all of your software may not function after this upgrade. But go ahead, you'll feel cool that your OS is the latest thing."
As someone who has been with Apple for close to 25 years, I'm disturbed by what appears to be an increasing sloppiness in their work.   This is especially disturbing when you depend upon their system to make your living.

i´ve been told that I can solve the problem by clicking in to "background activity", but I cant even find it? Where is it?
I have never ever had this problem, and I cant do my work now.

Created a playlist with all the songs I want on my iPhone, told iTunes Match to download them, but it got stuck in the middle of it

Hi all,
I wanted my iPhone to store most of my songs locally (about 4000 songs), and as there is no other way I know of, I created in iTunes (on my mac) a playlist containing all the songs I want on the iPhone. On the iPhone I then went to the bottom of the playlist and pressed the "download all" button.
After a long time (a few days even though my 50Mbps broadband could handle it in less than 2 hours), the iPhone has now downloaded 80% of the songs. But it seems to be stuck at this point (no progress in the last 2 day). The songs which still need to be downloaded still have a "stop" icon next to them indicating they are in the download queue (as opposed to songs which I didn't request to download and have a cloud icon instead).
If I click on one of the songs pending download, it doesn't play it and skips to the next song available locally, BUT it does download that missing song.
The other thing is that now the "download all" button is never there at the bottom of a playlist/artist/album (I guess becaue there is a download batch pending).
So I can't request to download the playlist again, and I can't download or cancel the missing songs one by one as there are too many.
Does anyone have a suggestion of what to do? (Preferably not disabling iTunes Match and r-enabling it, I suspect the implementation is just bad for a large batch of downloads and it will do the same again after a few days)

Thanks, this is not an ideal answer but probably the most sensible one in my case.
I will try it unless someone has a better suggestion, but I'll wait a bit as it will take me a few days anyway (I had actually tried to create a new smaller playlist or download by album, but at this stage the music app is not letting me queue a list of songs for download - I think I will have to disable and re-enable iTunes match which will probably delete all the songs).
I have to say I am not very impressed with Apple here - having an online backup of all your data and beeing able to restore it to a new device easily was a strong selling point of iCloud. For music, they are Definitly not delivering at the stage.

Create a table with all the months between two dates

I have a purchase table recording individual purchases. One of the fields is my Date field (date of purchase).
I would like to create a table 'All_months' with two entries ('month_no' and 'month') which will be based on the first and last date in the purchase table. Assuming the first purchase recorded in my purchase table was on the 12th of January 2008, the table should have the following structure:
month_no month
1 12JAN2008
2 12FEB2008
3 12MAR2008
It should continue in this fashion up-to the month where the last purchase was recorded.
I have been struggling with creating the query that would do that for days now and can't find anything when asking Mr Google.

;Do you really need a table like this? Every time you change the data in the purchase table, you won't know if all_months is still accurate or not. You can derive all_months in a sub-query every time you need it, or make all_months a view instead of a table.

There is an option under "File" to "Export as a PDF" but that is just for one contact -- I want all of them exported to on PDF. Please help.

Select a group or All Contacts and then export as PDF.

I've some text as below in a text file that needs to be imported into InDesign.

And in InDesign this is to be made bold. I want to know if there is a way to make it bold directly and then import it into InDesign, I'm asking this as I have approximately 200 pages that needed with all the font styles applied. We have to make books in InDesign, and the content we receive would be in XML Format and also an RTF file is given with same content, what we do currently is copy and paste the text in InDesign document and start formatting te content accordingly. But we are having huge volumes like more than 6000 pages and similarly we are having 8-12 vilumes, i want to know if we can get the styles directly in InDesign and start working on them.
For eg: we have the below content

Here there should be a para created and the number should be bold. I'm really unable to understand how to do it. please help me with this. And also our vendors need the IDML file along with the PDF. please let me know how i can do this.

How do I create a pdf with the correct size? I created several albums and ordered them. Now I want to backup the album and I know how to create a pdf, but when I choose A5 it's to big, when I create my own size it's not the size it should be. The original (made with iphoto) is a small size album 200x150mm. But when I create my own size (200x150) it shows some white borders.
Does anybody have some tips ore workarounds?

Books are designed for and printed on 8.5 x 11 inch stock, US Letter size. You shouldn't have to select any size. While viewing the All Pages mode in the book Control-Click on the page and select Save Book as PDF from the contextual menu.
That will create a PDF that iPhoto uses to upload and print. Not all pages will be the same size as the dust jacket will be present in it's full size, 32.8 inches x 8.91 inches:
If you want a PDF that's designed for your own printing the type Command+P while viewing the All Pages window. In the first print window click on the PDF button. It will present you with a contextual menu where you should select Save as PDF. That will give you an 8.5 x 11 PDF file with all pages the same size.

The only way I know to achieve this would be to create three separate bookmarks on the Bookmarks toolbar and click on a one that you want to load in the current tab. You can also try to right-click the Back arrow and click the entry at the bottom of the list to return to the first page.

You didn't mention what error(s) you've encountered? A workaround for the most commonly hit problem is here Re: error in Muse : Object UID:U6875 has two (or more) owners: U3633 and U3165
If you have a copy of your .muse file that has not been saved using 2014.3, you can downgrade by uninstalling Muse and then choose Previous Version in the Filters drop down in the Apps panel of the Creative Cloud desktop app. There will be a popup next to Muse where you can select a prior version to install.

3.      Sometimes I put a weblink behind the image in the newsletter. Most of the time PDF wont take the links behind the image.
