Create a Picture book, But I cannot find my photos

This is the very first time I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.   I clicked on "organize" and downloaded about 400 plus photos from my photo folders in my computer.  That went okay.  The next thing I thought I will create a Photo book.  Okay I selected a Family type of photo book.  I gave it a title (I believe I did it correctly) than turning to the next step, I can now select my photos for this book.  The only thing is I can't find where they are.  Where it says click here for photos, it brings me back not to my organizer where I just downloaded 400 pictures but to my computer files where I kept my photo folders.
So what am I doing wrong?
Next I am trying to find out how to "Tag" these pictures and place it a separate  file folders in my organizer.  I just can't find the tutorial that would show me how to do it.

Thank you for your response:  But I am still having problem on the steps you have given.
Here is what I did:
1.  Open Adobe Photoshop Element 9.
2,  Clicked on "Organize."
3.  On the screen was one individual picture of the 400 plus photos I have in the organize file.  Before I followed your guidance I was looking for the button that says show all.  In other words show all my photos on the screen instead of individual ones.  I did not know how to do that.
Following your guidance I did hold the the shift key on picture number, held it there till I scrolled down to all the photos.
4.  With my finger still holding the shift key, I selected "Create" and selected picture book.  In there I had problem tying my text for a title for that book.
Also on the bottom of the screen, I only saw one individual picture instead of all photos that I supposed ot have selected by holding the shift key.
The confusing part is when you said "hold down the shift key."  Do I hold it down while scrolling down on all 400 pictures?
Please clear this up... thank you again.

I have a PC with Windows Vista but I cannot find my photo stream anywhere. I followed the directions on the FAQ but it led me nowhere. What do I do?

Well I linked to an article produced and hosted by Apple so I suppose if they have an issue with it the would have to spank themselves
In addition the US Supreme Court has ruled that making a copy of a DVD for personal use or as a backup is perfectly legal, we've been doing that with CDs for as long as it has been possible, same for video tapes.
What is illegal is breaking any DRM protection on the media (this holds true for all media not just DVDs) and actually even this is a bit murky. What is definitely illegal is to sell software to break DRM.  However if you write your own DRM breaking software and use it to make personal copies or backups the law gets real gray.
So again as long as there is no DRM involved its OK, with DRM you're best to leave it alone.

  • TS3988 cannot find the photo files in iCloud

I've been a Mac nut for 20 years, so I feel puzzled. But i cannot find the photo files in iCloud in order to download a few I want onto my macbook air. ideas?

The only way to sync photos between mac and devices is to use Photo Stream, but you cannot view photo files in icloud.com.  Do a search (or google search) on photo stream to get all the info on this service.
BTW, if you had a MobileMe account and are trying to find photos in the gallery, there is no such service in icloud.  All the mobileme galleries are deleted by now.

my old email address was hacked and I am no longer able to access it. How can i reset my icloud ID without losing all of my pictures and more importantly contacts? I have created a new ID but i cannot seem to use it until I delete the old account

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.
    Have you seen this.

    iCloud
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.

Repairing the permissions of a home folder in Lion is a complicated procedure. I don’t know of a simpler one that always works.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    chmod -R -N ~
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. When a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) appears below what you entered, it’s done. You may see a few error messages about an “invalid argument” while the command is running. You can ignore those. If you get an error message with the words “Permission denied,” enter this:
    sudo !!
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
Next, boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” (without the quotes) and press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset the password.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

    Need Help Please

Try this. Open one of your files. The window that contains your picture is named at the top. Command click on the name and you'll see the entire path starting with its name and then moving to the folder, the folder it is contained in, etc all the way to down to the hard drive volume name. This should tell you where to find the folder.

I put in my memory card to the left side of the computer, but I cannot find the file of pictures anywhere. Its not even on my desktop. What should I do and how can I get it to show up on my desktop?

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

I cannot find a photo I did a lot of work to create. I have several libraries that look similar but I found at least one photo that was in one and not the others. Can someone tell me if I can merge these libraries, and how, and what to watch for that might cause problems.

the paid version of iPhoto library manager can merge libraries safely
Why do you have several libraries? Why are you not just using the one that has what you want?

  • When I download a jpg picture to Photoshop Elements Editor the file is stored in Documents & Settings/My Name/Local Settings/Temp but I cannot find this location on my computer.

The pictures are attached to e-mail messages. I can get as far as Documents and Settings and my name but there is no Local Settings folder shown. Using MS search with the name of the file gives nothing. I use Windows XP and Mozilla Firefox. The file appears in Photoshop Elements and I can save it as a psd file but I cannot find either the jpg or the psd files to move them into My Pictures.

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder.
    (1) If the file appears in the Downloads manager (Tools menu or Ctrl+j), you can right-click it and use Open Containing Folder to get directly to it.
    (2) To be able to see hidden folders on Windows XP in general, try this:
Open My Computer or Windows Explorer
Tools > Folder Options > View tab
Scroll down and look for the checkbox regarding hidden files and folders and unhide them.
Hopefully this will resolve the issue. Any luck?
    (3) By the way, you may be able to save the images from the email message to a more convenient location by right-clicking the links and using Save Link As. (Before you open them for editing.)

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and provide ~/Pictures/ as the path. If that doesn't work, control-click a photo in iPhoto, show it in the Finder, and Command-click the folder's name in the window's title bar to find the path.

    HI CEGS,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Audiobooks can be found in your Music app on the iPad.
I've referenced the section of the iPad User Guide (page 78):

  • I need to get a refund on an audio book I bought from itunes but I cannot find it on my purchased list on my account.  Where do I do this?

I need to get a refund on an audio book I bought from itunes but I cannot find it on my purchased list on my account.  Where do I do this?

If you downloaded it on your Mac's iTunes then it should be in the Books part of your library (Audiobooks if you are using OS X Mavericks), if on an iOS device then it should be in the device's Music app.
By 'purchased list' you mean yoru purchase history or the Purchased link for redownloading ? If the latter then audiobooks are a one-time only download from the store so they won't show in Purchased for redownloading, you need to copy or sync it to the computers or iOS devices that you want it on.

Error message when compiling book "file is corrupt" referring to a photo.  Or "cannot find original photo".  Can you use photos that have been "edited" out of "Book Mode"?

I did copy it to my desktop, but it still won't let me open it.  I think the file on the disc might be corrupt or something like that though the cd itself checks out fine as far as viruses go.  I was able to verify the disc, but that's about it.  My husband tried it on his iMac and we have the same issue.  It's unzipping the folder, but won't let us open the folder on both the Mac Book Pro or the iMac by double clicking, going to file/open or right clicking.  It just keeps saying the same message as I posted above.  I think I'm just going to have the client put the pictures on either a memory card or a USB memory stick so she won't have to compress the files for zipping purposes.  It's been too frustrating trying to open this folder on this cd she gave me.  She said she created/zipped the cd on her Mac Book Pro but it sure won't open on mine.
