Create a rollover effect with an avg with edge animate

Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to create a rollover effect (i.e. get my social media icons spin or drop shadow or change color) when I hover over them, I know how to do it with CSS 3 but I think it will also be useful if I learn how to do it with Adobe Edge Animate. I appreciate your time.

FW8 Can't Seem To Create Disjoint Rollover Effect

Hello,
I used previous versions of FW to create "disjoint rollover"
effects without any problem. This time I'm using FW8 to create the
same effect but so far it has proved unsuccessful, I have even
tried the step by step instruction of "help" menu with no success.
Can somebody pease help me with how to achieve this effect
with FW8 if it is possible.

Create an image scroller with swipe&drag in Edge Animate

Hi folks!
I'm trying to create a image scroller like this one http://www.awwwards.com/demo/touchSwipe-gallery-demo.html.
For the Swipe, I use the wonderful JQuery Plugin TouchSwipe http://labs.rampinteractive.co.uk/touchSwipe/demos/, but for the image sliding I would use the Adobe Edge Animate Timeline.
I know that I can use the Swipe events in Edge Animate to make start or reverse the timeline with pictures, but I would also make working an intermediate "dragging".
My problem, in fact, is: how can I make that - if I've only begun to swipe and I move the finger to left or right without releasing it - my timeline "drag" (or scrubs) frame by frame - like in the example above - until I release the finger?

I read the link you gave me: in fact, I was aware - also thanks to Old Tim's posts - about how to create a "scrubber" in Edge Animate, starting from formulas like:
Translation = (positionOfScrubber/WidthOfScrubbing)*timeline;
My problem now is - I fear - more subtle: I can swipe left-right a set of pictures, I can "scrub" a timeline (using for example JqueryUI for the dragging), but I don't know how to put together the swiping and the dragging.
I would that - like in the example from my first post - if, e.g., I completed the swipe left, my timeline would play the animation that shows the pic moving to the left but, if I didn't complete the swiping and I begun dragging to the left, the animation would move with my dragging-finger (the "scrubbing")...
I know is very subtle, but it's how the gallery scrollers works on web and app in mobile devices...

Is it possible (or feasible) to create an entire website full of animations using Edge Animate?

Back when Adobe Edge preview first came out I tried making this site:
http://www.bluekanji.net based on a friends request to have everything animate, with sound effects, music, etc. It didn't turn out too well and the coding is a mess because of my lack of coding knowledge and trying to jam stuff in there when Edge didn't allow it at the time.
I'm currently recreating the site from scratch, but hoping to make it all one cohesive page, instead of every animation having to be on a new page.
My main issue now is that when I have any animation play the next one will overlap and block one another and it becomes a pretty big mess. So my question is is it possible to do a full site full of animations with Edge Animate (and/or with Edge Reflow)? Or is it better to try something else?

Creating a rollover effect type button using an image? (Captivate 7)

What I would like to do is create something so that when you hover or roll over a specific area, it shows an image (it will appear right under where your mouse pointer is). When you move your mouse away, the image goes away. And if you click on the image when it appears (since it will be right under your mouse), it takes you to another slide, or runs an advanced action.
If I use a rollover slidelet, I move the slidelet piece off-stage because I don't want to use that- I just keep the slidelet area and put there where I want it. I then set the image I want as not visible in output, and set it so that rolling over the slidelet area "shows" this image. The problem with this of course is that when you mouse off, the image is still there. Without creating a custom button with different states, is doing something like this possible?
To clarify a little more, I have an image of a menu created. The menu is a list of text items you can click, listed vertically, like:
-Learn to log in
-Learn to check your grades
-Learn to send a message
and so on.
I have an image of each line of text changed to a different color, with an arrow next to it. So, I want to set it so when you hover over "Learn to log in," it turns blue with an arrow next to it. This effect goes away when you move your mouse off. And when you click it, it takes you to a specific slide.
What is the best way to achieve this?

Ah I forgot about this. I used to do that, but I had some issues at some point with the order of the items. Some of them were linked to advanced actions, and depending on what layer was on top, it was not playing correctly with what was underneath. But this is working perfectly for what I need. Thank you!

How can I create this rollover effect in Flash CS5?

I'm pretty new to Flash, and I want to create a button like these.
I understand how to make a basic rollover button, but I haven't got a clue how to do animation like that.

the easiest way would be to create one movieclip that has
1. a rectangular mask (to mask everything),
2. a dynamic textfield with whatever colored and embedded font.
3. whatever colored background
4. another textfield that has a y property greater than the mask so it's not visible until the mask is rolled over. embed the font
5. another background for the rolled over movieclip
everything will need instance names so you can control with actionscript. you can then assign rollover and rollout code to your movieclip mask.
on rollover, you'll tween the first textfield (and possibly background) to a y less than your mask. tween the textfield with easing. and you'll tween the 2nd textfield and 2nd background to about the same y as your mask. again, tween the textfield with easing but not the background.

I am attempting to design a site. I have the idea for the
layout and have created it using tables at the address above. I
realize I should be using css to create the layout instead of
tables. First of all - is this layout difficult to create using css
- and where would I start with that? I ordered an HTML/CSS book and
will dig in when it arrives.
Secondly - I want an image to appear in the empty space
(where there is an empty table right now) when I mouse over a menu
item - ie when I mouse over "wood veneer" I want a graphic to
appear in the empty space - that would be java script, no?
So I would layout the page using html and css, then add some
java script in to make the roll over thing happen?

Working with actions in Adobe Edge Animate

Hi!
I don't have a problem, just a trouble and I need your help.
I'm developing my personal site with Animate and I need to Toggle Play/Reverse action so I don't know how to do it. Here my site http://prilovski.ru/edge/. Now click action works only on glasses, just click it.
I need when glasses became big and when I click it image just back on its initial position,I need just playing reverse animation.
I will very appreciate if you helped me to do it.
And sorry for my terrible English. I promise I will learn it better.

To be honest I would add the click animations to a symbol.
Main reason for that is that you have more control over your animations and code.
I started with having everything on the main timeline and now since everything is in there own symbols you can control much more.
But if you really don't want to do it that way I'd say keep the code I mentioned before in a trigger at 0 seconds or in the composition ready and on the click code add this:

}//this is saying if the count is 0 play X then change the count to 1

}//and this is saying else if the count is 1 play X and change the count back to 0
You might have to put a label at the end of your click animation so it can play in reverse too and that's the label name you need to add to sym.playReverse.

I need to translate a flash program with many pages to edge animate CC. Is there an easy way top build new pages, so that you can jump from one page to another withion the same file?

I have only seen in all the examples in books and on the net that edge animate works on one page only. Maybe I hve not fully understood the concept, but in flash it was easy. Perhaps there is also an easy way in edge animate?

You can either make a symbol for each page in the same composition or you can use edge commons composition loader to load several compositions into the same composition which serves as a container.

How to create shiny/mirror effect with a background.

HI there we have been trying to create a shiny effect and
found the following tutorial.

background and the tutorial talks about having a colored background
with not texture.
When we create the shiny effect you can see the white or
black that fades.

To create a user defined member, in the Hierarchy editor on the bottom right of the screen there is an add buton, if you click on it, you will get a list. Included in the list are user defined child and user defined sibling. These create user defined members. Don't worry that the binding says unspecified. When you save the hierarchy, it will change it will change to be a text value equal to the name you gave the member. To get the members you want to put under that member, I find it easiest to create a Dimension element that has filtering to get select the I need for example if I create a user defined member called diet drinks. I'll create a Dimension member called diet skus that has a filter to select skus where the alias contains the word diet. I'll put that member under my diet drinks member. Whil it might be a little late for you. The Essbase Studio book I'm working on will be available late this week. It has examples of what you are asking about.

any idea how to go with this with director?

It somewhat depends on what the effect is intended to acheive.
Here is a simple behavior script that can be applied to any bitmap. It wobbles, in the sense that it has a radom movement about its axis.
That is acheived with the random() statements. The amount of wobble can be controlled by changing the value added to each parameter on each iteration.
The last three statements keep the wobble from randomly walking off the frame. Again, wobble can be changed by setting the corrective value at which point the bitmap returns to its original state.
