Create a Sequence with a White Background

I have looked around on here and cannot find a direct answer.
I have a sequence in FCS and would like to make it a have a white background. I would like to avoid creating a white frame in V1 and expand that across the entire project. I would have to render every time I move something. Does anyone know how to change the black background so that the entire video is white?
I looked under View > Background > White but it won't keep the change.
Thanks

I think the initial assumption was that you had some video that you wanted to put over a white bkgd - which you would need to either use a chroma or luma key to cut out the parts where you wanted the white to show through.
Since you're talking about titles, it's simple. As was said, click the little button in the bottom corner of the Viewer (looks like a film frame with an A). Choose Matte | Color. Go to the Controls tab and change the color to white. Drag the matte to your Sequence.
Click the little button agin and choose Text then Text, or one of the other options if you want a scroll or crawl. Drag this to the Sequence above the matte layer. Double click your text layer and edit it in the Viewer.
You might also want to play wth Livetype, which has a few black on white text templates to choose from.

  • Image with transparent background shows up with a white background in ID

    Amateur needs help.
I have a copy of a logo with a transparent background.  I made the (white) background transparent in PS by creating a layer from background and then selecting the white color in the background and deleting it.  This has always worked in the past.  But when I place this image into ID, it shows up with a white background.  I have tried saving as a PSD, TIF, JPG, etc.  I cannot get it to work.
I normally research these things until I find an answer, but I am on a tight deadline.  Thanks!

I totally forgot to put that in my post.  Yes, I am putting logos with transparent backgrounds in front of colored rectangles.  That's how I noticed that this one logo is showing up with a white background.  The weird thing is that the other two logos are fine.  I did find a different version of this logo and this one works fine.  The one that works fine is a JPG and the one that shows up with a white background is a JPG.

You can condense multiple clips that are stacked above each other into a nest. The nest appears as a single clip in the Timeline. If you need to modify the individual clips inside after you have created the nest, it can be expanded again by double clicking it.

    Hello Edward
Follow the prompts on your iPhone and you will get either at your home screen like normal or get to a point of restoring from back up. The article below will give step by step for restoring from back up.

    Hello all,
I have to create a sequence with following specs:

    1st digit starts from 5
next 2 digits represent current year e.g. 06

  • Hello everyone, So When I use the eraser on a photo and try to save it as jpeg is makes is save it as a copy but the parts that I erased are replaced with a white background and thats not what I want

Hello everyone, So When I use the eraser on a photo and try to save it as jpeg is makes is save it as a copy but the parts that I erased are replaced with a white background and thats not what I want

That may not be what you want, but Jpeg images are flattened, without transparency.  Every pixel has a color value, with the default background usually being white.  If you want to crate an image that leaves the erased area transparent, you will need to use an image format such as .gif or .pnc.

  • Gallery Images: How to make clear PNG's open in full screen with a white background?

    Hi,
So in the Life on Earth textbook, there is an image of an ant that has no background, so when you pick it up, you can see the text below without the standard "white box" around it.
I've scorwed the internet looking for answers but couldn't find any.
Please see the photos snapped from my phone of this:
Unfortunately... When I try to achive this, my images open on a black background.
I can achive the pick up.
Would really appreicate the help. Thanks...
    Grant

Well, if I put a white background in my image, it opens in full screen with a white background. But has a white square when I pick it up:
This is with a 2028 x 1496 image same as above, just no background - came out of Illustrator - and this has the effect I want, as the first post but still opens to full screen with a black background.
Thanks for the help... Hope to get this one figured out!

I have been trying to watch tutorials on how layering works. All I want to do is this: I have one image of a radio with a white background. I need to have just the radio extracted, then on a new layer (white one/blank/plain) I need to copy and paste the image of the radio two times. How can I DO THIS!?!?!?! Thanks!

In Editor, go to the expert tab.
Open picture B, the one you wish to select the radio from to add to another picture.
Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the object. You will see an outline ("marching ants") once the selection is complete
Go to Edit menu>copy to copy the selection to the clipboard
Open picture A, then go to Edit>paste
Use the move tool to position object from picture B.
In the layers palette you should see picture A as the background layer, and the radio B on a separate layer.

  • Why does my illustration arrive with a white background?

After I've prepared a photo or illustration and place it into InDesign, it arrives with a white background. What must I do to change this?

    TedWiden wrote:

    Really? It offers...
save as tiff (not flattened!) in PS - note Save Transparency box in bottom half of TIFF Options Dialog box. Now ID will 'recognize' your transparent background.

  • Create a sequence with no video tracks?

How can I create an audio-only sequence? That is, how do I create a sequence that, when I drag it to the timeline, does NOT include a video track? I can always just delete the video track after inserting it, but I figure there's just an easier way to do it that I'm missing.
    Thanks in advance!

To the left of the Video tracks are jig saw looking icons. Click on one and it breaks apart. In this state no video will be added too that Video track. Unpatch V1 and V2.

  • I've created a "header" in Illustrator. When I send it to someone to be used in a report.. it comes up "blurred" or, with a white background. I tried opening in Photoshop and saving as JPEG, but get same results. What do I do?

Can anyone give me suggestions .. after creating a "logo" or a "header" to be used by someone else in a presentation or report.. I can't figure out how to make the background transparent, and keep the image clear. Created in CS6 Illustrator.. tried opening in Photoshop and saving as JPEG.. no luck.

Have you tried exporting for MS Office?
You could also try exporting as transparent PNG with 144 ppi.
On top of that: don't scale it in Office.

  • Flash movie opens in browser with a white background

I have created a simple movie and placed it in an 'Under Construction' page. The whole page is meant to be black. When I open the browser a white box shows, where the movie will appear, while it is loading. I want the whole page to appear black. Can I do something about this?
I did set the stage colour to black. If you can tell me without my having to get into the source and use coding, it would be much appreciated; I'm new at all this and the idea of coding scares the beegeebees out of me!
If it helps, the web address is;      http://dennislewdesign.com.au/
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

If you specify a bgcolor parameter in the Flash embedding code that might solve the problem.   I don't see one currently defined.  I am not sure that will solve it, but it cannot hurt to try.  Normally, if you let Flash generate the html page code, it will include the background color parameter in the embedding code.

  • Objects with effects applied to them print with a white background around them

I have an object with a dropshadow effect applied to it. When attempting to print my file, the object with the effect prints with a solid white box around it, blocking out a portion of the objects behind it. Why is this, and how do I fix it? I have tried to apply the "flatten transparency" option to the object with no result. The only way I have found to successfully print this is to import the whole file into Photoshop and print it as a raster file. I would like to preserve this file as vector...

I think the problem lies with your ripper/printer not understanding the higher level PostScript - convert raster effects to greyscale if at all possible - might help...
