Create a summary based on a response to a given question

Hi.
I use this to collect data on my students. I have 2 sections of students, M and R (Monday and Thursday) and they all answer the same questions (one of which is to indicate their section.) While I do want to see a report summary that has data on all students, it would also be useful to see a summary for either the M or R students only. Is this possible? To create a report that uses the answer to a question as a filter for summary purposes? I see that it works to filter the full responses, but not the graphic summary.
-Tom

In the latest release, the filtering UI will now be available in both the View Responses and Summary Report tabs. When a filter is set it will change the results shown in both tabs. This should provide a lot more flexibility when generating Summary Reports.

  • Cannot create a summary based on remote objects

    Has anyone ever come across this error when creating a summary folder for a warehouse, using a DB Link?
    Does anyone know how to resolve this?

    Hi
    This is not a restiction of Discoverer, this is a SQL restriction, and it makes jolly good sense if you think about it.
    You cannot create a materialized view across a database link. This is because the optimizer only works within its database. It cannot cross a database link because it will be interfering with the optimization of another database and thus will be unable to determine whether a query should be redirected. So if a query cannot be redirected, what's the point in having a materialized view, or, in Discoverer's language, a summary table?
    How can you resolve this? Simple: you make sure that the summary and the objects upon which the summary will be based all exist within the same database.
    I know this is probably not the answer that you wanted.
    Best wishes

  • How to create dynamic tree based on BAPI

    Hi
    I am able to create dynamic tree based on flat file structure example given in SDN . But how to create the tree from BAPI directly.Also when I will be clicking on any leaf node of the tree some data related to the node will be passed to another view.
    Regards
    Ananda

    What i'm trying to do is create an organizational structure.
    Global>Region>Plant-->Corporation
    The output from the RFC is a structure containing every possible combination for orgazational hierarchy. Basically a flat table with record for every possible combinaton of Region-Plant-Corporation. This data needs to be bound to a tree structure so that we can call BW queries based on that level. For example: Give me aged inventory for the SAP corporation within the plant Berlin that is located in the Europe region.
    Now that you understand the business reason will the nodes that represent Region and Plant and corporation be non-singleton nodes or recursive? I was thinking a hierarchy of non-singleton nodes.
    I can bind these nodes to the Region - Plant - Corporation elements returned from in the flat table structure. I will probably get duplicates as a specific Region will be listed multiple times for every possible combination of the data beneath it. I'm not so concerned about that right now as I want to make sure I understand how in Web Dynpro to bind the data to the tree.
    Hopefully this makes some sense. Can you elaborate on how this may be constructed in context of the view?
    Would i create a model node for region (0..n), model node for plant (0..n), and a model node for Corporation (0..n)?
    Or does this sound totally incorrect?
    julian
    We have 3 regions over 50 plants and probably around 500 corporations.

  • Creating a Simulation-based Final Test in Captivate 4.0

    Can I create a simulation-based SCORM-Compliant Final Test in Captivate 4.0 that can be tracked by an LMS?
    I want to be able to create a final test that is simulation-based, not knowledge-based and have it load to an LMS which would keep track of each learner's scores and test attempts. I have created a sample simulation-based test around software use so I could make sure that Captivate tracks right/wrong responses and results appear as expected on the quiz Summary screen. My question is, will it load successfully to an LMS assuming I've set the publishing preferences correctly or do I need to follow some set of rules for what a final test should include based on Captivate's and an LMS's functionality?
    The "rules" I have received in the past for creating a scored final test have been to 1) always create a knowledge-based test with either multiple choice questions or true-false questions. 2) The Final Test is in a separate file with no test introduction or post-test summary. I'm sure these rules came from somewhere because I have seen them followed in more than one company. However, I'm hopeful that it is now possible for me to create a  more challenging and realistic simulation-based test --- can I? Are there any new rules I should keep in mind for this type of test in order to make sure that the published package conforms with a standard LMS's requirements?
    Thanks so much for your help!

    Hello,
    A lot depends on the LMS too, not only on CP. I have been creating software simulation assessments, and been successful in loading them up to our LMS (blackboard based). In those simulations I use a mix of scored interactivities (such as clicking, choosing menu options) and question slides. You have to decide which interactivities will be scored, and added to the Total score. Some tips: try to label your interactivity objects (such as click boxes) because it will be easier to understand the results page on the LMS (if the LMS is able to give you the data stored). Check and double check the view 'Advanced Interaction' which gives you a global view of the scored questions and interactions. I had to do some 'trial and error' attempts before finding the right way to publish, but am not sure my settings will be the right one for every LMS. P.e. our LMS can return only the first or the last score, if you want to have multiple attempts. If it is a real final assessment I will rarely allow multiple attempts. Be sure to block the possibility to go back. Perhaps this blog could help you (some nice widgets for quiz slides):

  • How to update the Sent Idoc Status based on the Response From Webservice

    Hi All,
    I have to develop Idoc--SOAP Sync Process Scenario Using BPM .
    I have configured every thing using BPM and mapped
    MATMAS----SOAP Request
    SOAP Resp----STATUS.SYSTAT01
    In R/3  the Main Idoc Number(MATMAS) Status needs to be update , but it is creating the new Idoc with STATUS.SYSTAT01.
    I have used STATUS.SYSTAT01 Idoc to Update the status of the Original idoc based on the Response that is coming from webservice .
    I was posted the same thread a days ago and there Bhavesh suggested me some sugessions.
    How can we make the status of the Idoc based on some response Text
    iam unable to follow OR not able to clear my self on this.
    Please suggest me or give some over view kind of thing on this
    Regards

    Hi Suman,
    It is clearly mentioned in SAP help that "SAP Intermediate Documents (IDOCS) are EDI like documents that are asynchronous in nature."
    So Your Scenario is Asynch(receive) - Synch(WS call) -Transformation (Multimapping)- Asynch(Send to R/3).
    now go in this way:
    you can develop all the message Interfaces  of  Abstract catagory (not manditory )
    MI_AA_MATMAS   -> Abstract Asynchronous message    interface for your Matmas IDOC
    MI_AS_SOAP_ReqandResp  -> Abstarct Syncronous MI for SOAP request and response.
    MI_AA_STATUS ->Abstract Asyncronous MI for Status Idoc
    MI_AA_SOAP_Req ->  Abstarct Asyncronous MI for SOAP request .
    MI_AA_SOAP_Res ->  Abstarct Asyncronous MI for SOAP response .
    Thats all in Message interface.
    your first reciever :
    (This will receive the message asynchronously from R/3)
    create a conatainer varaiable (say preceive) and assign it message interface MI_AA_MATMAS
    Now in thw Propert TAB of this step: give this message name.
    Step2: Synchronous call :
    create container Variable psoaprequest and psoapresponse  give abstract message interface MI_AA_SOAP_Req and MI_AA_SOAP_Req  resp.
    Now in thw Propert TAB of this step:
    Synchronous Interface : MI_AS_SOAP_ReqandResp
    Request Message : psoaprequest
    Response Message: psoapresponse
    Transformation Step :
    Here you will specify Interface Mapping that will conatain Multimapping between Synch Response - MATMAs and STATUS
    Let's name it as IM_ResandMatmasToStatus
    create a container variable as pstatus and assign it abstract interface MI_AA_STATUS.
    In Property pan of this step :
    Interface mapping :IM_ResandMatmasToStatus
    Source Message :psoapresponse
                                preceive
    (IT will ask you for two source messages as IM selected in this transformation has 2 source messages)
    Target Message :pstatus
    Send step:
    Select a message as pstatus.
    thats all in IR.
    If have doubt in ID just let me know.
    Thanks

  • Create a view based off a query in Access WebApp

    I'm trying to create a summary view based on a query.  The query is being used to make a simple join two tables.  I don't have an issue creating a datasheet or list view off the query, but when I try to create a summary view, I'm unable to
    create it.
    From the desktop app, I'm able to click on the plus sign to add a new view, give it a name, choose the type and select my record source.  When I click on "Add New View" nothing happens.  I do not get any progress dialog box as I do for
    other views.  The popup for the "Add New View" simply disappears.  Is this the expected behavior?
    Based on this thread I don't think so.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a5e60abc-0061-429e-8ce8-2014626c42c2/access-web-app-open-a-subform-from-a-query-based-summary-view?forum=accessdev
    Again, this is a simple query table 1 has 8 colums, all of them are simple text except for one lookup column that includes the data with the table, one column stores the a primary key from the second table.  The second table is a simple table with
    3 columns.
    Is this a limitation of the Access Web App?

    Hi,
    You should be able to create a new summary view off a saved query. The behavior you describe sounds very odd but I’m not able to repro this on my computer. Could
    you try something for me? Try and create a new summary view and use a table as its record source. Does that get created OK?

  • How to creat a summary of report with .txt

    Hi All,
         I want to creat a summary of report with .txt,and i have disabled the function about report generation in teststand.
         i created a complex sequence,it include some sub-sequences,example:the uut is tested on three different temperatures and four different voltages conditon.So i have creat three sub-sequences (diffrent temperatures) include four steps (different voltages),then mainsequence invoke three sub-sequences to excute test.
        i only want get the fail-step's summary with,include: fail-step's name,status
        how to do?thanks a lot
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You can use Parameters.Step.Name to get the failed step name. You can also use something like Parameters.Step.StepType.Name == "NI_MultipleNumericLimitTest" to filter different types of steps.
    As far as finding the entire failure chain...
    You can check RunState.CallStackDepth to see how many callers deep you are. Based on that information you can use RunState.Caller.Caller.(continued for however many callers deep you are).RunState.Step.Name or .Sequence.Name
    So if the CallStackDepth is 1, you would only need to use one Caller. If it was 2, you would need to recursively use 1 Caller and then 2 Callers and so on.

    In details block i have two base table colummn
    1)transaction_type
    2)weight

    Hello rdk
    Pls in ur details block ....
    1.*Create 2 non-db summary* column for both :total_import & :total_export
    2.*Then Create When-Validate-Item Trigger* for the weights then write the following code...
    IF :transaction_type=1 THEN
    :total_import := NVL(:weights ,0) ; -- will assign all the import transactions or inputs...
    ELIF transaction_type=2 THEN
    :total_export  := NVL( :weights ,0);  -- will assign all the export  transactions or inputs...
    END IF;3.Then in PRE-INSERT & PRE-UPDATE Trigger assign the 2 non db items to it's equilavent db ones in the Master-Block
    Hope it works just fine :)

  • Creating custom summary reports

    Using a 360 feedback performance review template, I received over 300 responses with feedback on about 70 employees.  I would like to create a summary report for each employee that collates the information received from survey respondents.
    So, for example, if one person has 3 reviews, I want to collate into a report - one for each person that consolidates all the information & comments received.

    Hi,
    >>So, for example, if one person has 3 reviews, I want to collate into a report - one for each person that consolidates all the information & comments received.
    FormsCentral does not support customization of the summary report as you mentioned above.
    You could export the responses to say, Excel, and then use Excel to edit/rearrange your data and generate the graph/report.
    Thanks,

  • To Select Template based on the responsibility

    Hi All,
    i have created a rdf with multiple templates.
    Whether it is possible to select templates automatically based on the responsibility.
    For ex:
    When the user selects xxx responsibility then xxx template should be default template suppose if user select aaa responsibility the aaa template should be default template.
    Please help me in getting solution for this.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    I am not giving the solution, one way is, you need to call your program (xxxx) from another program(yyyy, it is a new program). While calling program xxxx from program yyyy, you need to calculate the template name based on the responsibility and use that in fnd_request.add_layout.

  • How to create a report based on a DataSet programatically

    I'm working on a CR 2008 Add-in.
    Usage of this add-in is: Let the user choose from a list of predefined datasets, and create a totally empty report with this dataset attached to is. So the user can create a report based on this dataset.
    I have a dataset in memory, and want to create a new report in cr2008.
    The new report is a blank report (with no connection information).
    If I set the ReportDocument.SetDataSource(Dataset dataSet) property, I get the error:
    The report has no tables.
    So I must programmatically define the table definition in my blank report.
    I found the following article: https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/869, and came up with something like this:
    internal class NewReportWorker : Worker
          public NewReportWorker(string reportFileName)
             : base(reportFileName)
    public override void Process()
             DatabaseController databaseController = ClientDoc.DatabaseController;
             Table table = new Table();
             string tabelName = "Table140";
             table.Name = tabelName;
             table.Alias = tabelName;
             table.QualifiedName = tabelName;
             table.Description = tabelName;
             var fields = new Fields();
             var dbField = new DBField();
             var fieldName = "ID";
             dbField.Description = fieldName;
             dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
             dbField.Name = fieldName;
             dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
             fields.Add(dbField);
             dbField = new DBField();
             fieldName = "IDLEGITIMATIEBEWIJS";
             dbField.Description = fieldName;
             dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
             dbField.Name = fieldName;
             dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
             fields.Add(dbField);
             // More code for more tables to add.
             table.DataFields = fields;
             //CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo info =
             //   new CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo();
             //info.Attributes.Add("Databse DLL", "xxx.dll");
             //table.ConnectionInfo = info;
             // Here an error occurs.
             databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
             ReportDoc.SetDataSource( [MyFilledDataSet] );
             //object path = @"d:\logfiles\";
             //ClientDoc.SaveAs("test.rpt", ref path, 0);
    The object ClientDoc referes to a ISCDReportClientDocument in a base class:
       internal abstract class Worker
          private ReportDocument _ReportDoc;
          private ISCDReportClientDocument _ClientDoc;
          private string _ReportFileName;
          public Worker(string reportFileName)
             _ReportFileName = reportFileName;
             _ReportDoc = new ReportDocument();
             // Load the report from file path passed by the designer.
             _ReportDoc.Load(reportFileName);
             // Create a RAS Document through In-Proc RAS through the RPTDoc.
             _ClientDoc = _ReportDoc.ReportClientDocument;
          public string ReportFileName
             get
                return _ReportFileName;
          public ReportDocument ReportDoc
             get
                return _ReportDoc;
          public ISCDReportClientDocument ClientDoc
             get
                return _ClientDoc;
    But I get an "Unspecified error" on the line databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
    What am i doing wrong? Or is there another way to create a new report based on a DataSet in C# code?

  • Is there a way to create a collection based on the "previous import"?

    is there a way to create a collection based on the "previous import"? that would make it easy to mobile sync the last import to my ipad, and do further picking/rejecting while away from my laptop.

    well, yes, of course i could do it that way. i guess i wasn't specific enough. is there a way to create a smart collection, with the photos in the "previous import" as members of the smart collection.  earlier i mentioned about using this smart collection to mobile sync with my ipad, to do further flagging.
    so my intention, use a smart collection to mobile sync with my ipad, and the smart collection to include the photos from my previous import.
    i guess another way to ask the question, is there a way to create a smart collection, by using some rule or condition in the smart collection, to automatically include previous import photos.
    the documentation says that "previous import" is a collection, even though it shows up in the catalogue side bar section. but i see no way to choose that collection when making a smart collection.

  • Create a JTable based on an ArrayList containing instances of a class.

    I have a class, IncomeBudgetItem, instances of which are contained in an ArrayList. I would like to create a JTable, based on this ArrayList. One variable is a string, while others are type double. Not all variables are to appear in the JTable.
    The internal logic of my program is already working. And my GUI is largely constructed. I'm just not sure how to make them talk to each other. The actually creation of the JTable is my biggest problem right now.

  • How to create the web based report without enterprise portal?

    Hi experts,
    We don't have enterprise portal but I like to create the web based version of the existing Bex reports and which option is the best to distribute this web based report using information broadcasting?
    Can I use report designer for this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Sharat.

    Hi Sharat
    In BI 7.0 the Queries which u devoleped can be broad casted by using two ways .
    1. Enterprise portal
    2.Web Application Designer(WAD)
    So you can choose any of the option, For the Option 1 you should have seperate server for the EP or else For option 2 you have to make some setting in the BI system to enable the Web reports..
