Create a trigger to copy data from table A to table B

Hi,
I been trying with no success to create a trigger on table a , so when the user update or delete or insert data on that table, I would like to copy all data from table a to table b BEFORE, the statement execute, I am using Oracle database 10g XE. It's URGENT and I would appreciate any quick response.

Why? You are not giving us a problem to look at, analyse, and assist with - you are giving us a solution. That solution says "backup table before changes are made".
This solution sounds very strange in the context of a RDBMS. Even stranger when dealing with relational design as one would use date and time to keep track of how data is changing.
This, and your implementation of the solution (using triggers and DDL inside it!), makes me question whether this solution is indeed at all a solution. I see flaws and problems all the way.
What happens if two users inserts at the same time into table A? Two truncates will be fired on table B. Then the entire contents of A (and not the changes) inserted into table B? Ridiculous...
Thus from my point of view, looking at what you have presented to the forum in this thread, you do not seem to have any grasp on how to correctly use a RDBMS, never mind use Oracle.
Ignorance is not a problem. It is fairly easily curable. Which is why I referred you to the manuals.
Alternatively, instead of asking the forum how to make a flawed solution works, how about instead telling us the actual problem you are trying to solve?

Copying data from KeyFigures to database table in APO

Hi Experts,
Is there any way to copy the key figure values to APO database table?
Can we use any macro function to satisfy this requirement?

In the standard macro environment, there is a simple database table where you can store and retrieve data from, table /SAPAPO/ADV_SERI, with four keys and almost as many numbers as you want (combining some predefined column space and an iteration field). It only works for numbers.
You can use TS_SET to save data and TS_GET to store, please check the macro online help for the complete syntax.

but i got the below error for some column in data flow task.

Hi,
The issue occurs because the source flat file uses ANSI/OEM – Tranditional Chinese Big5 encoding. When processing the source file, the flat file connection manager uses code page 950 for the columns. Because SQL Server uses code page to perform conversions
between non-Unicode data and Unicode data, the data in the code page 950 based input columns cannot be loaded to code page 1252 based destination columns. To resolve the issue, you need to load the data into a SQL Server destination table that includes Unicode
columns (nchar or nvarchar), and convert the input columns to Unicode columns via Data Conversion or the Advanced Editor for the Flat File Source at the same time.
Another option that may not be that practical is to create a new database based on the Chinese_Taiwan_Stroke_BIN collation, and load the data to non-Unicode columns directly.

Question 1:
I assume you have the privileges. If you don't, ask the DBA to give them to you. Then
1. Login to database_source (It could be either the source or the target. Let's assume it's the source.)
2. Create a database link to database_target: CREATE DATABASE LINK link_to_database_target CONNECT TO myuserid IDENTIFIED BY mypassword USING 'database_target'; Note the single quotes.
3. Copy the table data: INSERT INTO targetowner.mytable@link_to_database_target SELECT * FROM sourceowner.mytable; COMMIT;
Question 2:
You have two options, but you may not have privileges for both.
Option 1:
DELETE FROM tableowner.tablename; COMMIT;
Advantage: Since this is a DML (Data Manipulation Language) statement, you have to commit the transaction. Also, the data will be gone but the table size is NOT changed, so it's ready for accepting replacement data. DML statements can simply be executed not only from SQL scripts, but from PL/SQL scripts as well.
Disadvantage: Slow, because all record deletion is logged, so you can recover from it by issuing a ROLLBACK; instead of the COMMIT; above. The table size is NOT changed, so if you are short of disk space or tablespace space, you have not resolved the issue.
Option 2:
TRUNCATE TABLE tableowner.tablename;
Advantage: Since this is a DDL (Data Definition Language) command, you do NOT have to commit the transaction. (DDL commands automatically commit both before and after their execution.) The table size will be changed back to the initial extent size which is the minimum size a table can have and can only be set when the table is created. If it needs to be changed, the table has to be dropped and recreated with a different initial extent size. The statement execution of this command is not logged, therefore it's much faster then the DELETE.
Disadvantage: No rollback. Being a DDL, this command cannot be executed straight from PL/SQL. If you need to issue this within PL/SQL, you will have to use dynamic SQL.

Copy data from one table to another

Hello everyone,
I have a student table with fields sno, sname. I created another table student1 with same fields sno, sname and with one new field class.
Now i want to copy data from sno, sname of student table to sno, sname of student1 table when the class field in styudent1 has no data i.e., its null.
Could any one let me know how to do this?

I am not sure if the table exists in db2,,,if it doesnot it needs to be created as well data also needs to be inserted...

How many rows does the table contains? There are manyway you can achieve this.
1. export and import.
2. create a dblink between two databases and use create table as select, if structure doesnot exists in other database, if structure exists, use, insert into table select command.
example:
create a dblink in db2 database for db1 database.
create table table1 as select * from table1@db1 -- when there is no structure present
-- you need to add constraints manually, if any exists.
insert into table1 select * from table1@db1 -- when there is structure present.
If the table contains large volume of data, I would suggest you to use export and import.

APD process is active, How to trigger the data from BI to CRM table

I want to send data from BI system(using APD method) to CRM table (ADS method).
I am able to see the table for e.g ABCD in CRM system , i can open using SE11 , but data is 0.
In BI , i have data in DSO and i have mapped it in APD process to data Target to CRM system and APD is active.
Now i want to know how to trigger the data from BI to CRM table? (e.g ABCD).
Please let me know the steps.

Just create a Process Chain to execute this APD method, if the process Chain is already available, then just insert this Process in to the process Chain and execute the Process Chain by normal process, by hoe we do in general.

Copying data from one table to another table thru java

I have to copy data from table emp in Database A to table emp in Database B. My input would be table name and number of rows to be fetched. these rows i need to insert in table B.
The problem over here is I won't be having any info. of table emp i.e the number of columns it has and their type.
So is their any way i can copy the data from one table to other without having the info abt the number of cols and their type.

Copying data from excel(more than one row) and pasting into table control

I have a requirement to copy data from excel and have it pasted it into the corresponding fields table control when the user clicks on an icon.For the first part I used a class to copy it from the clip board.By the previous process,I get the data inside an internal table, but even after trying to split the data using 'split at cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab into table itab.' it's not working.The table and the excel file are of the same structure.
Does anyone know any cause as to why it might not work?Is there any other way to achieve my objective?

let us consider you have to copy EKKO table to ZEKKO table
1. In ABAP program define internal table based on EKKO
 eg: i_ekko
2. Select the data from EKKO to i_ekko
 eg: select * from ekko into table i_ekko.
3. insert into Z-TABLE from the internal table
 eg: INSERT EKKO FROM TABLE I_EKKO.
 COMMIT WORK.
To insert in internal table you can use the following:
1. INSERT [wa INTO|INITIAL LINE INTO] itab [INDEX idx].
2. INSERT [wa INTO|INITIAL LINE INTO] TABLE itab.
3. INSERT LINES OF itab1 [FROM idx1] [TO idx2] INTO itab2 [INDEX idx3].
4. INSERT LINES OF itab1 [FROM idx1] [TO idx2] INTO TABLE itab2.
To inert in database table, use the following:
1. INSERT INTO <dbtabname> [CLIENT SPECIFIED] VALUES wa.
2. INSERT <dbtabname> [CLIENT SPECIFIED] FROM TABLE itab.
3. INSERT <dbtab> [CLIENT SPECIFIED]. oder

Yes it is possible using SQL*LDR, External tables and ORCL Export Utility. Though I didn't try Export Utility to load the external files.
SQLLdr sysntax:
Create a control file.
It looks like this
Load data
Infile 'source.dat'
Into Table tablename
Fields terminated by ',' optionally enclosed by '"'
{code}
then use sqlldr command from your OS.
{code}
sqlldr userid/password@sid control = filename.ctl, data = source.dat, log = logname.log, bad = badname.log, discard = discardname.discard
{code}
