Create a WBS Element level 3 Using BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI

i have to create a new WBS element level 3 but i have some customs fields to use in the WBS element creation. Fields that i should take from prps ( prps-zzx, prps-zzy ).
Any suggestion?

Hi,
I tried to create an planned independent requirement at MRP area and WBS element level, but failed. The MRP area is not plant level, but storage location level.
*When trying to create account assignment category Q for it, then there is an error message saying:*
**only stock requirements are allowed when planning at MRP area level.**
Does it mean it is not possible to create planned independent requirement for this case?

Select the "Issue storage location" as '2' here:
spro -> production -> material requirement planning -> mrp groups -> overall maintenance of mrp groups -> overview -> mrp control parameters at material level -> (field) Issue storage location selection
& make sure:
1. In the BOM issue storage location is blank for the components
2. For the FG products , in mrp area prod.storage loc is maintained
3. Components are extended to the mrp area.

Config for Cost & budgeting at activity level and WBS element level in PS

Dear GURU's,
please suggest me how to do the spro configuration for budgeting and costing, here my requirement is I need to do cost planning and budgeting at WBS element level and Activity level. We two deferent types of projects.

Cost planning in projects can be done through two techinques:
I. Manual cost planning (at WBS level)
1. Overall planning (Struture-oreiented planning)
2. Detailed planning (Cost element planning)
3. Unit costing
4. Easy cost planning form
II. Automatic cost planning using networks and assigned orders
For customizing: Use transaction OPUV and enter the required entries for cost planning.
Budget can do only at WBS level. For configuration do the following steps:
1. Create Budget profile - OPS9
2. Assign Budget profile in Project profile - OPSA
3. Then allot budget to your project - CJ30

Statistical WBS elements-Budgeting and Use

Hi Guys,
Need some KT from you all regarding Statistical WBS Elements.My queries are
1.Can a statistical WBS element be budgeted? If yes how are the Budget distributed to those below.
2..If a level 2 WBS is marked statistical and it has 3 WBS under it which are Acc asignment element then how is the budget distributed.
3.can you provide some good example of the use of Statistical WBS element?

Hi Shourya,
1. As mentioned above Statistical WBS can be budgeted like any operative project and the budget can further be divided into lower level WBS elements and Availaility Control can be activated on these.
2. Again as stated above the budget distribution is normal. For ex- If a level 2 WBS is statistical and level 2's underneath that are real WBS.
3. We can use the Statistical WBS for capital projects. For ex- We can assign a Statistical WBS in Master record of AUC for Availability control of budget for Capital spending. And then when we create a PO with Account Assignment category A with same AUC, budget control (Availability control) is activated through the statistical WBS.
Someone might ask but why we want to use WBS for budget control why not I/O? It's because it provides more visibility over different departments (divided by structure). And via this process we can see all our PO's on AUC directly from Asset Explorer (AW01N).

Billing of a WBS Elements when we use a purchase order.

My question is: Usually we use purchase order of the provider to create the delivery and after that the billing document. We use transaction VL04 to do that. It is a process of intercompany billing.
We have too, a process that we use a WBS Elements and after that we create a delivery and a billing document.
So, how can i use the two billing process in the same bill? The goal would be bill a WBS Elements using the original purchasing order of the provider VL04.

Making Settlement rule mandatory for creating any WBS element

We have an requirement that system should not allow us to save any WBS element until the settlement rule is maintained.
This we want only for WBS elements where Investment rule is not assigned.
Can alyone help me to find out if this is possible, if yes then how.

Hi,
The only way it seems possible is using exists in validations.
if not try to check the status of the wbs element in a validation. function module is STATUS_CHECK. and i think the system might set a special status, if a settlement rule has been maintained for a wbs element.

How to create dummy wbs elements

Hi,
for annual closing i have to make some dummy WBS elements to transfer the balance from existing ones.
What is difference between original wbs elements and dummy ones.
Or they are just the same configurationwise.

There is no true dummy WBS like a dummy profit center. It is project master data and set up determines what it will do and not do. They are the same config wise. FYI there is a carryforward function that can be used at eoy.

Can Budget Availability Control be turned off at WBS elements Level?

For Project and WBS elements, we activate the budget availability control in the budget profile and assign the budget profile to the Project. So once we budget one WBS elements under that project and release the project, the availability control is active for all WBS elemens under this project.
My question is whether we can turn off the availability control for one WBS element under that Project and let the availability control on for the other WBS elements under that project.

Hi,
I doubt if this can happen. CJBW will deactivate avalability control for entire project. Try OPSX for that particular WBS, it will reset budgeted status. Not sure if this will help, try and confirm.
One more way could be assigning userstatus to the WBS and restricting 'Availablity control' by that status. This option looks more practical.

Problem while creating WBS elements using LSMW

Hello experts,
I am able to create Project Definitions using LSMW. (using recording)
But there is a problem while creating WBS elements.
Tcode CJ20 has table control and that will become problem for multiple rows (levels).
Can anyone suggest a solution to mass upload WBS elements?

Hi,
Instead of using "BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN", use following solution. We are using this solution and it is working pretty good.
If the WBS element is already created and you want to create one more with same data, first get the WBS related information using BAPI_PROJECT_GETINFO as you are doing currently.
I am using different sets of BAPIs to create project, create / change WBS element.
I use function module from Function group CJ2001 ( Project related BAPIs ), CJ2054 ( WBS related BAPIs ) and PS_BAPI ( pre/post processing BAPIs ). There are specific order in which you need to execute these BAPIs.
For example if you want to create / change the WBS element, the BAPIs sequence is:
<b>1. BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION
2. BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI ( to create WBS )
or
2. BAPI_BUS2054_CHANGE_MULTI ( to change WBS )
3. BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT
4. BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT</b>
Check the documentation of BAPI "BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI " to see how these function modules work.

Error in creating WBS element BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI

I am calling BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI for creating WBS elements for the blocked project . I am passing the detailed project definitiion with level ( like A5/01/01) . I am getting error that WBS element for the object could not be created error 076 that BAPI is not initialized .
Now to solve this I called BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION first then am calling BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI then its throwing dump and if I want to run thru se37 then still giving the same error mentioned above
Please let me know what should I need to do to remove the error .

in my zrfc to create WBS element
i have called following BAPIs
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION'.
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI'
        EXPORTING
          i_project_definition = temp_pspid
        TABLES
          it_wbs_element       = it_wbs_element_new
          et_return            = it_return.
     CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT'.
     CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT'.
I have return the zreport to call above RFC
The values that i am passing to wbs internal table are
WA_WBS-ZI_PSPID = '1-4275/P'.
WA_WBS-ZI_POSID = 'T-01117'.
WA_WBS-ZI_POST1 = 'TEST WBS FROM REPORT'.
Append WA_WWBS to IT_WBS
then i pass IT_WBS to my ZRFC
but i am getting error message at BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI
my question is am I passing parameters in right manner?
do the hardcoded parameters need some conversion and if yes what do i need to de?

Error in Creating Level2 WBS using BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN

Hi All,
I am trying to Create a WBS-element at Level 2 of an already existing WBS-element using BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN.
I suppose the 'hierarchy table' has to be populated for positioning a WBS in the structure. But I am getting the error 'The transfered hierarchy is inconsistent. Too many errors.'.
I desire to have the following WBS structure in place :
Project Definition :   PROJ_DEF
WBS for level 1   :   WBS1
WBS for level 2   :   WBS2 (This has to be at a sub-node of WBS1,and NOT at the same level as WBS1)
Can some one give me solution to this error, and suggest a way to create the WBS in this pattern.

Issue in Updating Customer specific fields in WBS using BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI

Hi Experts,
I am able to create the WBS element using BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI.But the issue is i am not able to update customer specific fields even after passing the fields as per specification in Function module documentation. I have also created an implementation of BADI as per below specification in FM documentation:
Procedure for Filling Standard Enhancements
Before you call the BAPI for each object that is to be created or changed,
for which you want to enter customer-specific table enhancement fields, add a
data record to the container ExtensionIn:
STRUCTURE: Name of the corresponding help structure
VALUEPART1: Key of the object + start of the data part
VALUEPART2-4: If required, the continuation of the data part
VALUPART1 to VALUPART4 are therefore filled consecutively, first with the
keys that identify the table rows and then with the values of the
customer-specific fields. By structuring the container in this way, it is
possible to transfer its content with one MOVE command to the structure of the
BAPI table extension.
Note that when objects are changed, all fields of the enhancements are
overwritten (as opposed to the standard fields, where only those fields for
which the respective update indicator is set are changed). Therefore, even if
you only want to change one field, all the fields that you transfer in
ExtensionIn must be filled.
Checks and Further Processing
Using the methods ...CREATE_EXIT1 or. ...CHANGE_EXIT1 of the BAdI
BAPIEXT_BUS2001, BAPIEXT_BUS2002, and BAPIEXT_BUS2054, you can check the entered
values (and/or carry out other checks).
In the BAdI's second method, you can program that the data transferred to the
BAPI is processed further (if you only want to transfer the fields of the CI
includes, no more action is required here).
But still i am unable to update fields though i am able to create WBS with rest of the fields except custom fields.
I am using attached code to achieve this.Do we need to code anything inside method create_exit1 or create_exit2 implementation for BADI or

First observation from your code is that i could not find the assignment for the field
GWA_WBS_EXTIN-STRUCTURE. I hope you are not filling this field, that could be one reason for failure. Try to do it and let us know if you still have the problem.
