Can we create a Web Service from a Business Object??

Hello All,
Has anyone created a Web Service using a Business Object?
When I am trying to create a Web Service in TM box, I can see that couple of options like Business Objects, Process Agents are disabled and rest like Consumer Group, Service Provider are enabled. Any idea why this is happening. Is this related to some configuration setting.

Where to create a Web Service in CE 7.1 SR 5

I have a book from SAP where the path to create a web service is (from NWA):
Configuration Management --> Infrastructure --> Web Services Configuration and choose to create a destination. However, this book was written for SR1 and I am not able to find the Web Services Configuration in SR 5.
Where to find it then ?

to create a destinations for ur web servivce , then login to NWA --> SOA Management --> Destination Template --> Create a new Destination for ur web services.
to create a web service , then in the composite Application perspective, create the business object and application services and finally expose the Application servivce as web service.

2004S MiniSAP ABAP: SAPGUI crashes when creating a Web Service

I have installed the NW2004S ABAP Preview System from SDN on a VMWare Image (Windows XP, 1.7 GB Mem).
No problems during the install. Also I was able to run the sample Web Dynpro Quiz Application.
However when try to create a Web Service the SAP GUi crashes with the Windows Error Message "dispwork.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." Interestingly enough the "dispwork.exe" process in the MMC continues to be green and I can reconnect.
Here are the detailed steps if you want to try to re-produce:
1) Select Package SAPBC_IBF_SCUSTOMER
2) Select Function Module "BAPI_FLCUST_GetList"
3) Right mouse click and Create -> Web Service
4) Web Service Wizard opens, type in name for Web Service (Z_...) and continue with the default settings
5) Creat as Local Object
Result: After about 5 minutes of compiling the SAP GUI crashes. The Web Service is not created (checked in WSADMIN)
Any help is greatly appreciated. Will reward points for hints which lead to a resolution.

I'm glad to see it wasn't just me having this problem. I installed the SPS8 version of the 2004s ABAP trial a couple weeks ago and immediately tried to apply SPS9 and kernel patches, etc. (with a lot of help from your blog 3930, even though some things have changed since then).
I ran into this same problem you describe but since there had been some other problems along the way too, I decided to uninstall the whole server and start over. Uninstallation and getting a clean installation again was a mess (maybe the new cleanup utility would have helped some) but I got past that.
The second time through, I made a lot of improvements, which I'll list here since they may help others, but still ran into this problem in the XPRA_EXECUTION phase.
Improvements to process:
1) Backup database first, just in case
2) Share the c:\SAP directory as Sapmnt so that SPAM can find the packages
3) Add at least one extra batch process, since the default installation only gives one and more are needed for the support package installation (the easy way is to increase rdisp/wp_no_btc in the NSP* profile in C:\SAP\NSP\SYS\profile)
4) While in the profile, change ztta/cua_area = 250000 to avoid some errors logged in trace files for having that too low
5) Also in the profile, put the slash between the directory and file name in ssf/ssfapi_lib and sec/libsapsecu
6) Also in the profile, add "dynpro/generate_in_separate_luw = N", as per note 949737
7) Request and install a new license key before applying the support packages.
All of the above were changes I made after finding errors or problems and these solve the problems. Some errors also led me to upgrade MAXDB from 7.60 build 32 to 33 (pretty painless if note 735598 is followed carefully) but I'm not sure that really solved anything.
I tried hard to debug the WEBI_AFTER_IMPORT problem and narrowed it down to when it's trying to create a transformation for a function and XSLT_MAINTENANCE is called and then inside the Activate method and the Check method it calls. I ended up not able to solve this problem but also hoping that SPS10 would do so, as per note 973675. I just removed the AFTER_IMP method for WEBI from table OBJM temporarily while letting SPAM continue.
I too will be waiting to see if SPS10 helps or if someone comes up with a solution. Ideally, a new version of the trial could be posted which incorporates the above improvements and includes SPS9 or SPS10 so that those installing it fresh don't have to go through so many issues...

Security Error when creating a web service with Flex

I'm using Flex to create a standalone application and I have to use web services to retrieve data from SAP.
I used the bapi bapi_flight_getlist to create an associated WS that works fine (tested with the Eclipse's WS Explorer).
In Flex Builder, I use the following code to create my web service:

I don't see what is wrong with

The class has a no-args constructor at least. The useBean tag will work with it. Probably.
But still, some code just can't be translated into scriptless JSTL.
Calling methods which take parameters is one of those things.
In this case you probably want to write a custom tag to work with your tabs
I would probably look at using custom tags like this:

Top down approach for creating the web services in NWDS 7.1

I am trying to develop a web service in top down approach.
1) I created a Dynamic web project.
2) Created a WSDL File using the WSDL Graphic editor.
3) Now i am trying to create the Webservice from the WSDL file , i am getting the following error
The SAP Netweaver Web service runtime does not support the service project type Dynamic Web Project.
How do i created the web service from here on.

In NWDS 7.1 i used to create webservice.I followed the process given in sap help.
steps:
1.      In the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, you create an EJB Project and an enterprise application project for the Web service.
2.      In the EJB Project, you create an EJB Session Bean 3.0 and implement the business logic of the Web service.
3.      You expose the EJB Session Bean 3.0 as a Web service, using the Web service wizard in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
4.    You deploy the Web service endpoint on the application server.

Frustating errors while creating java web-service

Hey All
Me getting a frustating problem while making the webservice using Eclipse, jdk1.6.0_03,and Tomcat-5.0.
The overall scenario is like this.There is a class “WsEpp” of which I have to make webservice.”WsEpp” class is using the object of another class “EppService”, and if certain conditions will be fullfill then “EppService” class will use the object of another class “PrintClass”,which is allready using the object of class “PrintLib”.
“PrintLib” class is a long file and its using many classes which are in supported jar files.
Here is the some part of “PrintLib” where I am facing the problem,
Scenario-1

user is required ?Yes, the parameters of your method will be mapped in WSDL.
But i've some considerations about your code.
I suggest you change the name of isPrime do Prime, its a good code convention to put the name of class starting with Upper case. and isn't good the name of class equals to name of method.
I suggest you to change the "static boolean isPrime (int n)" to "public boolean isPrime(int n)" to publish a method as a WebService method it's must be public and not static. After this change try to generate your Web Service.

I am new to JDev and ADF, we have requirement to build a web service which can receive array of object. Basically there is a Dot Net service which will read email account from exchange server and send all the read emails by consuming our web service. So the dot net program can send more than one email from the account and send to our web service. As of now we have created the web service which accepts the parameters like

Latest jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 doesn't have Web service Proxy at Business Tie

I have installed the latest Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.o and tried to create a wsrp consumer but couldn't find the "Generate Web Service Proxy" under Business Tier -> Web service as suggested in developer's guide.
Did I miss anything? Should I installed any extention patches? Is there any other way to create a wsrp consumer to test the sample wsdl generated from wsrp producer for .net?

Really impossible to create a web service for JBoss using eclipse's WTP?

I'm starting to get nuts!!!
I'm an experienced J2SE and J2ME Java developer... but I have huge problems creating a web service using eclipse WTP!
The tutorials I found are for tomcat... But I want to code for JBoss and not for tomcat...!!!
There must be somebody out there with the same issues...
This tutorial works fine for Tomcat...

Quiet a few points here.
1. Oracle Type objects do not map to XML Complex type
2. Oracle Type objects do not map to Apex Page Item Types
3. Apex Page Item types are substituted into the WS Request XML by a process which is part of the Web Service Reference creation through the Wizard in Apex.

As you have guessed the Wizard driven Web Service Reference definition process cannot handle complex types of input parameters required by a Request. By definition the number of complex types possible are infinite, so they are not likely to come built in.
Passing an array is no solution because finally the values passed have to be plugged into the right SimpleTypes inside a ComplexType in the Request.

Creating a web service help needed....

i am using netbeans 6.0 on xp and hav jdk 1.5 update 17 installed. tomcat 5.5 is also running. when i start developing a web service according to [this tutorial|http://wiki.netbeans.org/SOAPNetBeans6] when i try to create a new web service from wsdl it says "to create web service in this project the java source code level must be atleast jdk 1.5" and i can't continue from there. waht must i do...?
