Create Activity from Account

Hi,
we are using CRM 5.0 PCUI.
The Activity Application works fine but the Tabpage Activities in Account Application (Event: ACC_ACTIVITIES, Toolbargroup: ACC_ACT01) not working correctly.
If we try to Create an Activity with the "Add Entry" button no org and no partner determination are populated the org data and the defined partner for the order document.
The same order document in the Activity Application work fine and determine the correct org data and the correct additional partners.
I hope anyone can give me a hint for this problem.
Thanks and regards
Christian

  • Create activity from external system

    Hi
What is meant by creating activity from external system.
I need to work on an enhancement which deals with function module to create activity that can be called from external systems e.g. on demand.
I am not sure what does that exactly mean?
    Any pointers would be helpful.
    Thanks
    Alka

    Hi guys,
Thanks for your answers... But is it possible to call transaction NOTIF_CREATE from an external system?
I have done something already so that those 3 fields will be automatically populated for a message sent from an external system.
I changed the screen and called FM BAPI_NOTIFICATION_CREATE(a remote enabled FM which is the one being used by transaction NOTIF_CREATE to create a message) inside FM BCOS_SEND_MSG.
I populated the category, subject and solution in the FM export parameters as well as the solution number in the sap data table. I put a destination also..
This FM calls another FM DNO_OW_CREATE_NOTIFICATION which is the one being used from the external system but do not cater the functionality to send the 3 fields that we need.
As you will notice, there are lots of standard objects that I've changed. =)
My problem now is that the system data sent is the same with the system data if you create the message using NOTIF_CREATE. Some system that were sent when a message is sent from an external system is missing but at least the sap system and client ID is sent. There is no external reference number also. But hopefullly, the users will accept it. Can't find any other solution to this.
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • How to avoid duplicate DN exception when creating Active Directory Account

I am using OIM 9.1.0.2 to provision Active Directory accounts.
I run into issues when the DN of the user to be created already exists and I would like to know if anyone has some logic I can use to generate a different DN for new user by adding a number or something like that to the DN
    Here is an example.
User 1 exists already and their DN: cn=john smith, cn=users, dc=company,dc=org
New user joins the company and his name is also john smith and he has no middle name: so system attempts to create his account as cn=john smith, cn=users, dc=company,dc=org
how can I accomplish this by making the account say cn=john smith_1, cn=users, dc=company,dc=org

    There are two different questions:
    1. How to generate a sequence of candidates for the name attribute
    2. How to check if a record with the given name candidate already exists in the Active Directory, and hence try the next candidate from the sequence.
The answer for the first part is usually defined by the policy existing in your organization, in the simplest case you can append sequential integer numbers to the end of the original name.
The answer for the second question is not so simple if you use are provisioning with MSAD connector.
There are two places you can put the check:
-- in the pre-populate adapter for the UD_ADUSER_COMMONNAME field
-- in the adpADCSCREATEUSER event handler, which is responsible for new AD user record creation.
Both cases need some coding, since you have to obtain the AD connection and search AD for matching records.
    Pros & cons
Placing check code in the pre-populate adapter:
    Pros:
the result is visible in the form, administrator can change the pre-calculated value if he wishes
    Cons:
you need to have all access to connection parameters, and establish one extra connection
this is not the way OIM is supposed to work :-(
Placing check code in the AD user creation task:
    Pros:
you have all access to connection parameters, and open a connection here anyway
    Cons:
the result is not present in the form, so no way for manual interaction by administrator here
BTW: this problem is not only related to DN generation, some other AD attributes (e.g. sAMAccountName, mailNickName, userPrincipalName, mail) should be unique in the AD domain scope.

  • Creating Active Directory Accounts for vSphere 5.1 Services

To set up the management pieces of vSphere, I need to have an account or accounts created in Active Directory.  I need to determine how many to create and what permissions they need.
In Single Sign on Server, I need to choose an account that vCenter server will use when it connects to SSO.  I can use the default admin@system-domain.  Or I can add an account that is configured in Active Directory.  Or, I can also use an active directory group instead of an individual user.  What is the best way to do this and if I use an AD account, what permissions does it need at the domain level and at the local level on the Single Sign on Server?  (I'm using multisite mode, so I can't use local accounts)
In SQL Server, I need to choose an account to use for the SQL server service.  Should this account be an active directory account or a local user account?  If so, what permissions should be assigned to the account in Active Directory and what permissions should be assigned to it on the local machine?  What AD group, if any should it be a part of?  What local permissions does it need?
In vCenter Server, I need to choose an account to run the "vCenter Server Service" in.  Is it best to use the default "system" account or to use an account from Active Directory, or a local account?
I'm trying to get a big picture of an AD account/group strategy to use that covers the main management pieces of vSphere - vCenter Server, Single Sign on, Inventory Service, Web Client Services.
For example, create one group called "vSphere Services", then create separate accounts for each management piece, and assign them specific permissions on specific systems.  Or create separate groups for each management piece and assign permissions to the groups.  Is it better to consolidate some of these user names or split them out?  Any experiences / suggestions welcome.  Thanks.

    Hello,
For general services I use a service specific account within AD. This was before SSO and I use the same after SSO. SSO is used by only two services that I know about at the moment (Inventory Service and perhaps vCloud). However, there are many other service accounts that should be created. You want one account per service and I use AD for this, this way I can create a service account group and give it the appropriate roles and privileges. FOr example I have service accounts for:
    VMware View
    XenDesktop
    vCops
    HPSIM
    Solarwinds
    VMTurbo
    NetApp
    etc.
One service, one service account, each with either a general role or custom role depending on access requirements to vCenter.
For SSO, I to am waiting on general information, but I set mine up fairly basically to cover only those resources that make use of SSO. Since the vast majority of items do not use SSO, the rule still applies.  Once SSO is supported by more than one or two tools, you still need to maintain that separation.
So I say yes, tie SSO to AD and do everything in one place, unfortunately, that is not very clear, or at least was not to me and these SSO issues are either beng fixed, documented, or both.
    Best regards,

  • Create Activity from a Lead on PCUI

    Hi everybody,
I am having a problem, I don't know if anybody has had this before. I am trying to create an Activity from the lead screen on PCUI by using the Standard create activity button, but when I click on it instead of trying to open a popup accessing the portal and one of the roles in it, it tries to open a popup calling the CRM WAS but it sends the portal role and i-view information. Of course with this instead of getting the activity I-view open I am getting a BSP Error from the PCUI BSP application.
I am not sure why is this happening I am using the standard i-views.
The exact error I am getting is as follows:
    Business Server Page (BSP) Error
    What happened?
Call of BSP page terminated due to error.
    Note
Following error text processed in system:

Thanks a lot for any help you can give me on this.

  • Create activity from survey reponse

    Hi Experts,
I'm trying to implement a scenario in campaign automation (CRM2007) where an activity is created when in a survey response a particular questions is answered with a specific answer (for example, when question X has answer Y, an activity (task) should be created so that customer service can pick this up).
In the scenario outgoing mail as the response are generated in CRM. But how will i go about the creation of the additional tasks? After the decision node (when question X has answer Y --> campaign element Z) i put campaign element Z with communication medium Activity with an Activity Template associated to it. The workflow puts the business partner in the campaign element (number responses is + 1) but a activity is not created.
Your help will be very much appreciated!

    Hello,
lately we have applied SP9 to our CRM 6.0.
Since then we have an error during the following process:
Search and find a Sold-To Party
From the "Lead" assignment block, click on create

Thank you in advance and regards,

  • Problems creating AD resource accounts

    Hi,
I have a problem at a customer site with creating Active Directory accounts.
If I change a AD attribute on a existing user (which is reconciled into idm system) it works fine, but if I want to create a new user via idm system it cannot be done.
After reading the gateway tracefile it seems like a problem with password policy, but it aint.......
    The tracefile looks like this:

    Hi,
I am getting the same error. I am running gateway with a user which has admin capabilities. The gateway trace log shows the same error and in IdM admin interface the error is showing as,
Unable to set user info: SetInfo(): 0x80071392: , 00000524: UpdErr: DSID-031A0F4F, problem 6005 (ENTRY_EXIST), data 0, The object already exists.
Actually what I am doing is,
Through flat file active sync, I created a user (abc) under People-->test1 organization unit and also a user(abc) got created in IdM too.
My requirement is now I need to create a user(abc-test) in People organizational unit through IdM user interface. In the end user interface, I have only one text filed and a create button, in that text field I have to give accountId (i.e. abc).
In this workflow I changed the identity, fullname,sAmAccountName and User Principal Name but still the same error.
I don't understand where the problem exists or it may be due to ObjectGuid?
if anybody knows the solution, kindly give any ideas.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I intend to create Activity from Campaign based on the Partners selected in the Partners tab.
For 5 different partners, 5 different activities.
I am trying this through Action definition, method call.
Am I on the right path? Is this how normally its done?
    thanks
    Yash

    Hi Mike,
    Thanks for the link.
I already have this doc with me.
This talks about creating a transaction type which is assigned based on Communication channel.
My requirement is to create a transaction type based on the Partners in the Partner tab.
    I have awarded points though.
    thanks

  • How can I create a POP3 account on my iPad for Live Mail which doesn't delete mail from server?

Got a new iPad Air with iOS 7.1.1 tried to create a mail account just like the one on my iPhone 5. I selected 'Other' as mail account which allows me to edit the POP3 and SMTP settings. Think it sends mail ok need to check out receiving BUT there is no longer the option under INCOMING MAIL which says 'Delete from Server' which I have on my iPhone set to 'Never'.
Anyone know how or what settings to use for the iPad?
    Thanks

Yes, you're correct this is only for existing users so if you don't have a Gmail account then do as shldr2thewheel suggested.
You'll then be able to link up to your Gmail account in your iPad once done.
    Regards,
    Steve
