If you are not able to edit your address or phone number info when setting up an iTunes Store account with an existing Apple ID, you may want to see if they can be set (or have already been set) for the Apple ID itself. You should be able to view and manage all of your Apple ID information from the following page:

At the top of the iTunes Store window, you will see who is logged into iTunes. I'm guessing from your description, that it is your husband. If it is, click on the name to display the dropdown, log him out and sign yourself back in:\

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. Not quite ready to upgrade to lion but cant get mail in snow leopard to set up an account to download my icloud .me emails.
Im on the latest version of snow.
Is t me or mail? surely its just an IMAP account at the end of the day

Did you activate "Find my iPad"? Also, keep in mind, if the person who found your iPad was smart enough to restore it as new, and erased all you data and iCloud account......then this could be why.

How to configure iCloud when using two apple ID's

Just installed lion and set up a new mac id (different from my itunes mac id)... whats the difference of having two separate ones? I know the two cannot becombined, but what are the challenges of having two?
I currently have my itunes store and icloud set up to my new apple ID, but what happens to my old apple ID? All my downloads from my iphone were done on the old apple ID. If I change this setting by using the original apple ID for store purchases and my new apple ID for icloud... whats the difference? benefits? complications?
Just really confused by all this and can't find anything online that just breaks down whats the better way of setting this up.

You should continue to use your old ID for iTunes, if you don't you will have difficulties using your purchased content.
You can use either the new or the old ID for iCloud, iCloud is just a sync service so you won't actually lose anything by using one or the other.
If you'd prefer to use the same ID for both and your contact and calendar info is in your iCloud account using your new ID, you can always transfer that data to the other account and delete the new account altogether.

This is a black background with the type "punched out" to all the flames to be seen. When import this into Adobe DVD Studio Pro the black background of the masked type turns into a grey. What can I do to get the black appearance I need? Thanks!

Lets say the following is your square (just four words Top, Right, Bottom, Left)
The words Top, Right, Bottom, Left can all be on one Photoshop B&W pict file that is used as an overlay, all the words in black over a whit background for instance. Note however, that buttons (when you drag the button area) are limited in how they can be made so it may take a little bit of tinkering to get the button area to be over the particular section of the overlay properly and some designs may not work.
You can try other methods, succh as buttons over video, but the above is probably the easiest and most reliable way subject to design considerations

"Grouped" user cannot create Mobile account

Leopard Server 10.5.4 and Leopard client 10.5.4.
In Server, we have a group of users called Group1. In this group we have a user called User1. When we try to create a mobile account, prompts for password, and then "There was an error creating mobile account" appears.
When we try to create Mobile account for any user outside any group we have no problem.
The Mobility prefs are the same in the Group1 and in the account outside the group.
Any help appreciated.

Look in the system log for clues.
Also you can turn on ManagedClient logging from Terminal this way:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.MCXDebug debugOutput -2
Then reproduce the problem. The log will be here:
/Library/Logs/ManagedClient/ManagedClient.log
Remove /Library/Preferences/com.apple.MCXDebug.plist to stop logging (and increase performance).
And please file a bug with Apple.

yes you need an Apple ID (basically an iTunes account, yes) to download apps

To be more precise: I am talking about the logging-in within the System Preferences on my iMac.
When trying to log in with the old ID, I get no access, i.e. it says "Try again"...-Trying the same with the new one gives me the result I mentioned in my first question...
Now I found out how to do it: I had to erase all accounts-then I could sign in with my Apple-ID. Thanks again.
