Create an Out of Bounds effect

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshopelements/using/WSb3e1c788ad8781563b8343e5133f32f0ba5- 8000.html

The Quick Selection tool is not used to create straight edged selections, it is used to quickly select an object by scribbling within that object. The creation of the straight edged frame is an earlier step, before selecting the irregular edge of the object that will actually be jumping out of the frame.

  • Out of bounds effect keeps crashing

    Hi
    Can anyone make a suggestion as to why my out of bounds effect either will not work and on occasions when it does it crashes (on Elements 11)
    Thanks

    I think there's been quite a bit on forums on this common problem.
    In PSE9 it crashes when using the guided out of bounds feature.  But if you first  go in to Control Panel and under the heading of Appearance and Personalisation click 'Change the theme', then change your Windows scheme to Windows 7 Basic you should have no further problems.  You can always change the scheme back again if you make a note of what it is now.
    Hope it works for you.

  • Out of Bounds effect has all but the frames tool grayed out?

    What do I do when the Out of Bounds effect has all but the frames tool grayed out?

    Hi 123fay,
    To use Selection tool in 'Out of Bounds' guided, you need to click on Selection Tool tab in order to select it. It will turn dark grey (symbol of selection) on selection. Now you will be able to select. Please try again and let me know if this solves the problem.

  • PSE 9 out of bounds question

    If I create an out of bounds image
    will I be able to take it to the photo store to have it developed?
    If I can, after I have created it and before I save it what are the steps I need to take in order to be able to have it developed?
    Thanks,
    Steven

    Yes, you will be able to have it printed same as any other image.
    Once you are done creating your Out Of Bounds image, just do a File>Save As and save it as a .jpg file. Take the .jpg file to the place you have your photos printed and it should work just fine.

  • TileList problem with effects - 'RangeError: Index '8′ specified is out of bounds.' error.

    Flex 3.0 beta TileList problem with effects
    I have a problem with deleting item from a Flex 3.0 beta
    TileList component. While a delete item effect is playing and I
    delete another item (while the first effect is still playing) , I
    get an ‘RangeError: Index ‘8′ specified is out of

    are done? or is there another solution? do I use a callLater()? or
    remove the eventListener and wait until the effect finishes?
    To see the problem, hit the down error twice quickly.

  • How do I create a magnifying glass zoom effect?

    I'm building an image 'showcase of work' website site. Each html page features a selection of thumbnails on one side linked to a main image on the other.  I am trying to find out how to create something like a zoom effect 'magnifying glass' so that the user can hover over the main image to zoom in within a confined circle or square in more detail, which moves with the mouse whilst hovering over the image. I'm sure you all know what I mean!  (just in case, please see attached html file showing the page layout)  (I also don't want to get too techy/over complicate things as I'm learning as I go). I want to be able to use this feature throughout the site, therefore, I guess it's another CSS rule that I need to apply...?
    I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find some sort of step by step 'how to' do this.  I can't seem to find just what I'm looking for... maybe I'm not calling it by the right terminology!
    I'm currently using Design Premium CS4 (predominantly Dreamweaver, Photoshop and a little Flash)
    Cheers....

    Hi
    Magiczoom and lightbox are used for showing enlarged versions of images etc. similar to using a separate pop-up window (but without the annoyance of pop-up windows).
    Anythingzoomer is a magnifying glass effect and works as such.

  • Coordinate out of bound error in getting rgb value of a pixel

    hi
    in my motion detection algorithm i am using BufferedImage.getRGB(pixel) method to get integer pixel value of the rgb color model. I get the series of images from the web cam and create BufferedImage from it. But there is a error saying that coordinate out of bound exception. So please let me know how to over come this problem asap. i mentioned code segment below.
    for (int i = 0; i < objbufimg.getHeight(null) - 1; i++)
    for (int j =0; j < objbufimg.getWidth(null) - 1; j++)
    int rgb = 0;
    try
    rgb = objbufimg.getRGB(i, j);
    catch(Exception ex)
    System.out.println(ex.getMessage());
    if (objmodel != null)
    current[i][j] = (objmodel.getBlue(rgb) + objmodel.getRed(rgb) +
    objmodel.getGreen(rgb)) / 3;
    }

    inputListOfValues(Magnifier LOV where we will be loading thousand of row in search results table).
    If you load and scroll over thousands of VO rows, then the VO will load all these rows in memory if the VO has not been configured to do Range Paging, which may cause out of memory. By default, VOs are not configured to do Range Paging. Please, try with VO Range Paging in order to minimize VO's memory footprint. (When a VO is configured to do Range Paging, it will keep in memory only a couple of ranges of rows. The default range size is 25, so it will keep in memory a few tens of rows). UI does not need to be changed and the user will scroll over the rows in an <af:table> in the normal way as he/she used to.
    Right now Our JDev is configured with a Heap Space of 512MB.
    JDev's heap size does not matter. The heap that you should check (and maybe increase) is the Java heap of the Integrated Weblogic Server, where the application is deployed and run. The heap size of the Integrated WLS is configured in the file <JDev_Home>/jdeveloper/system.xx.xx.xx.xx/DefaultDomain/bin/setDomainEnv.cmd (or .sh).
    Please suggest any tools through which we can track the objects causing the Memory leak.
    You can try Java Mission Control + Flight Recorder (former Oracle JRockit Mission Control), which is an awesome tool.

  • Index out of bound array : calling bapi

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem while executing a BAPI using the SAP .net connector. The steps I performed are as follows:
    Created a web project in Visual Studio .net using VB.net
    Added the SAP Connector Proxy to the project
    Dragged a Bapi_Customer_Getcontactlist onto the proxy
    Created a page with a button on it
    In the button_Click event of the web form I wrote the following code
    Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
            Dim Maxrows As Integer = 10
            Dim Return0 As BAPIRETURN1
            Dim Contactaddressdata As BAPICONTACT_ADDRESSDATATable
            Dim Customerrange As BAPICUSTOMER_IDRANGETable
            SapProxy11.Bapi_Customer_Getcontactlist(Maxrows, Return0, Contactaddressdata, Customerrange)
        End Sub
    But when I execute the code the method the control goes into the SAPProxy1.vb file in which the code for the method Bapi_Customer_Getcontactlist contains a statement as follows
    Dim results As Object()
            results = SAPInvoke("Bapi_Customer_Getcontactlist", New Object() { _
                                Maxrows, Contactaddressdata, Customerrange})
    When the SAPInvoke method is executed it gives an exception saying “Index was outside the bounds of the array.”
    For any other bapi that I execute it gives the same error. Please someone help me to execute the BAPI and let me know if I have missed out something.
    Regards,
    sridhar

    Thanks a lot for your suggestion.
    I got rid of the error by manually editing the code that the SAPProxy.vb contains in which the SAPInvoke method is called. This method expects the second parameter as the array of input parameters which it writes automatically but when executed the number of parameters is not the same as those in the actual method.
    i.e. The code that is written automatically when I drag the method from the Server explorer contains the BAPI method which internally calls the SAPInvoke method. Now the BAPI that I want to make a call contains the output parameters which you said I need to initialize. But the code excludes this output parameters in the SAPInvoke method. Thats the reason why the index out of bound error was generated.
    Now once I manually changed the code to include the output parameters too in the SAPInvoke method the error is gone but the call thus made does not return any value in the output parameters. Where as when executed from the SAP IDE it returns the values.
    Please let me know whats wrong with it.
    Regards,
    Sridhar

  • How to Create the Engraved/Carved Text Effect.

    Hello everyone,
    First I have search the forum for this topic but did  not find it.
    I am looking to create a Carved/Engraved  Text Effect.
    Something like this: http://www.patrickjudson.com/projects/example.jpg
    There are other better examples but basically the text appeared to  be  engraved or carved in the background.
    I have been  struggling to learn this.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for  the help.

    The short answer is to use layer styles which will do a pretty good fake of this effect. If you are looking to actually distort a texture, check out this tutorial: http://www.2morrow.dk/75ppi/3dtext/default.htm (you may substitute KPT3.0 with Photoshops shape burst gradient effect).

  • Java Array Out Of Bounds Problem

    In order to conduct an experiment in java array sorting algorithm efficiency, i am attempting to create and populate an empty array of 1000 elements with random, unique integers for sorting. I've been able to generate and populate an array with random integers but the problem is - for whatever size array I create, it only allows the range of numbers to populate it to be the size of the array, for instance, an array of size 3000 allows only the integer range of 0-3000 to populate it with or I get an out of bounds exception during runtime. How can you specify an integer range of say 0-5000 for an array of size < 5000? Any help is appreciated.

    Another approach is to fill the array with an
    arithmetic sequence, maybe plus some random noise:
        array[i] = i * k + rand(k);or some such, so they are unique,
    and then permute the array (put the elements
    s in random order)
        for (i : array.length) {
    transpose(array, array[rand(i..length)]); }
    Along those lines, java.util.Collections.shuffle can be used to randomly shuffle a List (such as an ArrayList).  Create an ArrayList with numbers in whatever range is needed.  Then call java.util.Collections.shuffle(myArrayList). [It is static in Collections--you don't need to [and can't] create a Collections object.]

    array to 4 numbers for testing purposesis this a question or a statement?
    well there are problems in you HouseHolds class.
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
    public class HouseHolds{
    // Data
    private int idNum;
    private double anlIncm;
    private int famMems;
    //This method gets the data from the user
    public void dataInput(){
    // if you are trying to set the int idNum here you are not doing this.
    String idNum =
    JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter a 4 digit household ID number");
    // same with this
    String anlIncm =
    JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter the households annual income");
    // and also this one.
    String famMems =
    JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter the members of the family");
    } as a service to you look at these two API links.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/lang/Integer.html
    and
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/lang/Double.html
    now here is the revised code for one of your variable settings.
    you will have to do the rest on your own.
    String idString = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter a 4 digit household ID number");
    idNum = Integer.parseInt(idString);
