Create application under the new copied web dynpro object?

Hi experts,
Once I copied an entire web dynpro object, it doesn't allow me to create an application on the new one with the error message "there is no interface views under the component". But I see that there is a interface view named by the ancien object under the component. How to deal with that?

I think you have copied the component which is having multiple windows , kindly select which interface view(Window) to create the application

Creating 'Z' views for Standard ABAP Web dynpro Application

Hi Experts,
I am totaly new to ABAP web dynpro objects.
In our project there were some client requirements which required us to change the properties of the Views related to the Webdynpro. The Client now has said that he needs to apply some enhancement pathces on his system. Due to this, the changes made to the Views i.e all the changes done in standard code are lost.
The client now wants a long term solution where all the changes need to be done in 'Z' implimentataion so that changes are not lost every time the pathces are applied.
Is it possible to create an entire new 'Z' Views for the standard Webdynpro instead of standrad ones?
If Yes how does one link them to the Webdynpro application ?

I have an old user name tht is no longer accessible. I access fierfox through a new user name. I have copied the profile from the old user name. Can I have 2 profiles from which to choose when using firefox in the under the new username?

I have a user name on my computer that was tied in with the domain name of the server at my workplace. I would access Firefox under this user name. I have now changed jobs, and for good and obvious reasons can no longer utilize my previous company associated username.
I have set up a new username on the same computer. When I access Firefox, all of my old bookmarks are gone, because Firefox does not recognize me under the new username as the same person. In the meantime, I have established new bookmarks under the new username.
I have copied my profile from Firefox under my old username. Can I have two profiles under my new username and pick which one I want to use at that time when accessing Firefox?
I am running Windows 7 Professional, with 4 gig ram, Intel i3 CPU, 2.13 GHz, 64 bit operating system, Firefox 7.0.1

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

Getting Error while test executing the Web-Dynpro object.

I am new to Web-dynpro and this is my 1st demo application.
Application simply contains two Views : First used to submit a field which is collected in the second view for display.
While test runnning the application as: Web Dynpro_Component -> Create -> Web Dynpro Application, I am giving the Plug name as 'DEFAULT'.
While testng the Web-Dynpro I get the error : Starter Plug DEFAULT does not exist..
Please suggest what is to be done.

Hi Sharma,
When u created a Web Dynpro Application , In Properties tab of the application,mention the view that displays,when application starts. Coming to the View ,make sure that In Bound Plugs of that view is having plugname DEFAULT as startup plug.

Hi Gurprit,
A null value is being passed at runtime. Make sure that you enter values when filling in the form.
Also check for the cardinality of the nodes being used. You can also initiliaze your value attributes as follows:
In wdDoInit() method:
wdContext.currentNodeAElement.setValueA("");
Context is as follows:

New to web dynpro for abap

HI Team.
I am new to web dynpro for abap .
I am trying to develop a sample application using web dynpro for abap
for that I am making use of SAP ECC 6.0 system.
I created the the application by following steps in pdf.
It is a program which makes use of BAPI_FILGHT_GETLIST
I have created city from and city to two input fields once i enter the data and click on serach flights
it must display all the filght details in a table format
Problem i am facing is that data is not coming into the table.once i click the button.
Do I need to perfrom any settings like rfc destinations ?
I do not think so because I am trying to make use of the bapi which in the ecc 6.0 system

You posted your question in the wrong forum. This forum is for Business intelligence.
Did you activate your Web dynpro component? You can do it in the transaction SICF.
In this transaction, you can expand according to the below path..
/default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/<your webdynpro component>.
Here you right click and YourWdComponent and select Activate.

Overwriting a File in the KM using web dynpro

Hello,
im using the createresource method to upload files into the km using web dynpro.
(using the following tutorial: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70a60afe-d576-2a10-68bf-9ce3988dc39e )
however, if i try to upload a file which is already there, it doesnt overwrite it, instead it throws an exception without any additiona info.
is there any way of doing this?

first check, if the resource exists, then decide to create or update content:

Hi Basha,
As you are trying to modify a standard Webdynpro application, I believe that we can achieve that with the help of JDI only. Once you have that configured in NWDS then you can call the standard wdp project to modify. Ofcourse, I don't have a solution as I too am new to it and trying with it now

Help in creating first Web DynPro object on 7.4 Trial. Access Key Error

Hi, I have an NetWeaver 7.40 instance (release 7.9.08.005) running on the aws. I have successfully converted the system from initial state to DEMOACCESS.
However, I cannot create a new Web DynPro object. The dialog asks for the access key. I have already installed the NPL license earlier.
I went through the steps to find what the user DEVELOPER's access key was by looking at the DB table. When I put that access key in this dialog, it says it is invalid.
Is Web DynPro development available as part of the trial instance?

Thanks for quick reply. I was indeed logged in as the DEVELOPER user. That was not it.
I found the answer... the test component was named incorrectly. I tried to start with 'MyComponent' and that seems to be a reserved namespace. I used 'ZMyComponent' and all was fine. I even went through the tutorial below successfully.

That's not the correct port. It should be 993 for incoming.
If you signed into iCloud from the System Preferences, it should automatically create the iCloud account for you in Mail. Sounds like it is an account you already had set up for MMe in Mail.
Open Mail preferences, open the Accounts tab, disable that account in the advanced pane.

I have installed NWDS 7.30 EHP1 SP 14 PAT000   with JVM 6 SAP AG
to   migrate wedynpro development components from 7.0 to
NW7.4 WAS SAP AG 1.6.0_85 on Windows Server 2008 R2 6.1 SP09 PAT000
In track imported below SCAs of version 7.31 SP14 .
Could able to migrate and build in NWDS, getting deployment errors.

I tried to rename a file, it gave me an error message (can't remember the number - 43??) and then the file disappeared from the original folder. When I do a search, the file comes up under the new name, but it does not show a path, and even though preview

I tried to rename a file, it gave me an error message (can't remember the number - 43??) and then the file disappeared from the original folder. When I do a search, the file comes up under the new name, but it does not show a path, and even though preview shows the contents, I can't open the document (Powerpoint) and I can't move the document. I tried "Copy" and paste but it doesn't work. I tried "Share" with Airdrop and iChat, but the file is inaccessible. When i try to rename the file, it says the filename is too long.
When I try to open it, it says the alias is not good, and asks if I want to fix the alias. I'm afraid to do that and lose all access to this document.
Right now, it feels like a ghost document - it is on the computer intact, but it is in an undisclosed location and inaccessible.
Please help!!

I was able to resolve this by repairing permissions, even though no permissions error was listed specifically for that file.
I could also have recovered it through Time Machine, but I'm interested in knowing how not to have this happen again!
I was afraid of rebooting and possibly losing track even of the ghost.
I did not try EasyFind - I'll keep that in mind next time.

Please can someone provide sample code and 'How to' steps to replicate ME52N create attachment and attachment list in Web dynpro?
I've looked at FILEUPLOAD and FILEDOWNLOAD in Web dynpro and this seems suitable for only 1 file attachment.

If your are having a UI like ME52N and you want an attachment feature in each row, I have below suggestions:
Suggestion 1: If you use ALV
Add a column in list of type Xstring or which ever suits your document specificatio
Add a Button on the ALV for attachment,
On click of the button you can Popup a browse window and user can select the file.
The content of the file can be stored as Xstring for that Line item.
Suggestion 2: IF you use Table UI element
Add an attreibute to context node of type Xstring
In the Table set, you can set FIleUpload as the editor for this column.

If yes, then answer is that the file is stored in the context of the application only as "com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielement-definitions.Resource" object. Please read through the tutorial to understand the full process.
WD doesn't really upload to server automatically unless there is any explicit code written. All it does is to store the file in a temp context which you can access and write your own code to store it in a particular location.
