  • How to create contact groups

    how to create contact groups?

I don't think so. My iPhone is setup to use Exchange server. My contacts have several categories. But all of the contacts show up. If you are a Mac user and create groups in Mac Address book, you can view by group.

  • Am I missing something with Contact Groups on iPhone?

I cannot create Contact Groups natively on the iphone
I cannot use contact groups to create emails
I cannot use contact gropus to create group iMessages (or txts)
Are they purely used as an organizational tool for the address book/contacts on my iphone?
I can do all of the above on my computer or on the web based icloud (which is also oddly unavailable natively on the iphone) but I cannot do any of the above on my phone.
Am I missing something? A preference in my settings somewhere?
Seems like a huge misstep somewhere.

You can provide feedback to Apple at www.apple.com/feedback. Groups has always been an issue with the iPhone. There has been a number of posts about an app in the App store, however I believe it is a paid app. Check over to the right of the thread under More Like This and see if you can locate that.

  • Creating Contact Groups??

I am wondering how i can set up a contact groups with a few on my contacts so i can send the same messgae to more than 1 person at a time???

You can create contact groups with the address book on your computer that is supported for syncing contact info with your iPhone's address book, but addressing an email or an SMS to a group mailing list with the iPhone is not supported - at the present time anyway.

  • Create contact group

Anyone know WHY oh WHY oh WHY we STILL cant create contact groups?  I'm sick of adding people to emails/textx one by one!
    What's the hold up?

    w1se,
That's the reason why I developped Easy Group, a free application to create group of contacts, and send group emails and texts in one tap, without adding all people one by one.

  • How do I find my Contact Groups in iPhone 3G (v2.0)?

My Contacts are setup in Entourage on my Macbook & they auto-sync with Address Book which has all the contacts setup in Groups. iTunes successfully synched all my contacts across to my new iPhone 3G (I'm not using the iPhone for email yet - haven't set it up). When I go into Contacts, I can't see any buttons/options/anything that lets me see any groups + there's no group info showing within any individual contacts. In iTunes, when I sync, the Info tab lets me "Sync Address Book contacts' but only "All contacts" - the "Selected groups' radio button is greyed out (I can't select it) as is the checkbox for "Put new contacts created on this iPhone into the group". I don't know whether this is just a 'feature' here in Australia, but it seems odd. Am I doing something wrong or missing something here? It'd be really gr8 to get iPhone to recognise my contact groups. Any help appreciated thx.

Well blow me down & keelhaul me! I've solved my own problem. The issue appears to be that Apple won't sync Smart Groups from Address Book to the iPhone. I created a test group with a few dud contacts in Address Book; iTunes sync'ed then OK & as soon as I went into Contacts on iPhone, there suddenly was the Groups button appearing with 2 Groups - my Test Group + all Other contacts. Nice one apple - another undocumented feature! Looks like I have to do away with the Smart Groups feature & convert them all to normal Groups in Address book - bugga!

  • How do I sync Google Contacts groups to iPhone

I have all my Google contacts in different Groups.  I would like to have those same Google contacts groups synced to iPhone Contacts app. I followed instructions to sync iPhone Contacts with my Google account.  All my Google contacts did sync to iPhone but there were no iPhone contact groups created. So I have one huge list of contacts. How do I sync the Google contacts groups?  Thank you

Hi - from the"iPhone 6 User Guide for iOS 8.1",I followed the following steps:
Use your Google contacts: Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, tap your Google account,
    then turn on Contacts.
So I entered Gmail and password. Then withing Contacts app I pressed the Sync link.  Afterwards I've got all contacts in one big list, just not categorized by Google groups.

  • Unwanted contact groups in iPhone

iPhone4 showing contact groups that no longer exist in Microsoft Outlook10. Extremely annoying to see group folders with no data in them. I have tried resyncing and restoring many times.  Can anyone help???

When I updated the latest version for the iphone, it has groups in it now, and you can select which groups you want to sync with. This may work with multiple phones, but not sure. With Outlook 2003, I figured out a way to create groups and put contacts into them which really helps since I have 400+ contacts. I'm currently using about 30 different groups, but haven't field tested it yet. You should be able to create groups in Outlook that have only the contacts for each phone in different folders which can sync to different groups in the iphone.

  • Deleting Stubborn Contact Group from iPhone

I created a new Group in my contacts on MobileMe and it was synced to my iPhone 3G just fine and it also appeared in my contacts on the Mac. I then deleted the Group on MobileMe and (there were no contact in it) and it was also deleted from my Mac. However, no matter what I do, I can not get that Group name to delete itself from the iPhone for some reason. Everything else is syncing just fine.
Is there a way to delete contact groups directly from the iPhone? The group does not exist anymore on MobileMe or in my contacts on the Mac.

    Hi prosumer,
One thing to try that might help out.
Go to settings > mail, contacts, calendars > your mobile me account.
Here you will be able to turn off contact syncing.
This will remove the contacts and groups from your iphone.
Wait for a few minutes, then turn contact syncing back on.
It will take a few minutes to sync back, based on the amount of contacts you have.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to Display Contact Groups on iPhone 4s

When I started using my iPhone 4s, my Contacts displayed in Groups (as shown below). They still do on my Mac. On my iPhone, however, after the latest software update all I get is a list of all my Contacts. When I push the "Group" button (top left) it displays a list of which groups I want displayed on my long list. What Id' like is for it to look like the picture below (as it did before the last update). I cannot find anything about this online. Any fixes? Thanks very much!

there are some apps, where you can add/delete groups directly on your iPhone (or iPad or iPod) and easily assign contacts to groups. For example "Contacts In : Import CSV & Manage Groups". See here: http://csvcontacts.wordpress.com/iphone-groups-broadcast/. As bonus you get all contact management things (deletion, creation) and ability to send broadcast SMS and e-mails and quickly clean up your contacts.
Swipe group to delete - only group itselt will be deleted, not the contacts! Then you can create new groups, assign contacts to group directly on iPhone, no need for PC connection. The groups which are created are "native" iPhone groups and you will see them in any other applications (e.g. in native iPhone address book).

  • Contact grouping on iPhone 5S

How to organize contacts into groups?

Groups under Contacts are suynced from your accounts listed in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
You cannot create groups on the iPhone as there is no functionality in which you can call, text, or email a group quickly (you still have to select each one manually initially).
If you want a group of select contacts, go to one of those account (i.e. If you are syncing contacts with icloud go to icloud.com; yahoo is yahoo.com, etc) and create a group.  This will auto sync with your iPhone.
    Good Luck.

  • How to create contact groups in Jabber for Windows

Attempting to deploy Jabber for Windows.  I can't find where in CUPS to build the contact groups that will deploy to the users.  We are wanting to build our groups by our locations and deploy them from there.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Darren,
With CUPS 8.6(1), you can import users contact lists and as well create groups via the bulk administration page of CUPS.
This is outlined in the deployment guide below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cups/8_6/english/install_upgrade/deployment/guide/dgcupc.html#wp1292041
Keep in mind, this functionality is only available in CUPS 8.6(1) or higher and not in any older version.
    Regards,
    Jas
