ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced

I'll lay odds that the problem is that you've asked this database to use an UNDO tablespace called UNDOTBS, but that in your spfile (or init.ora) you've specified UNDO_TABLESPACE=UNDOTBS01 (or something similar).
If the parameter file specifies an undo tablespace which doesn't exist, the instance blows up.
The advice to read the alert log would be useful at this point, because the mismatch of undo tablespace names is always recorded properly there (which always makes me annoyed that the original error message can't be a bit more precise!)

You didn't ask a question in your post, but I assume you have one and it is "what do I do about this error?"
Looks like you have a memory access problem in nuance-core.dll, specifically in
    nuance.core.util.NuanceConfig._jni_buildFromCommandLine(Native Method)
You may need to examine thoroughly what this code does, specifically when it is running code within 'string-funcs.cpp'. Based on the filename the JVM associated with this error, I would guess it's something like a pointer or array index bug.

  • MDS Configuration Manager Create Web Application = Unexpected Error, Keyset does not exist (HRESULT: 0x80090016)

we are having Problems installing MDS on new sever.
    Server: Windows 2008 R2
SQL Server 2012 SP1 (Developer Edition)
In the Master Data Services Configuration Manager Wizard ...
    - DB Creation (Database Configuration) was succesfull
    - But we are stucked in the "Web Configuration", "Create Application" failes in both cases (Choose "Create new Website" or choose existing site like "Default Web Site")
    Error Message is alwasy:
Unexpected Error - An unexpected error occurred: Keyset does not exist (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80090016)
Any ideas? Are there any Extended logs created by Wizard activity? Windows Application Eventlog Shows nothing!

    Hi,
Just a gut feel. The issue may lie within IIS. I base this upon the fact that your database was created. The second part, the web configuration  is related to IIS. SQL Server 2012 should be set up with IIS7 or better still IIS8.
    This said..
Is IIS installed correctly? You can always de-install it and re-install it via the programs / windows features option off of the control panel.
Out of curiosity, did you by any chance have a previous 'bad install' of MDS. If so this may be a registry issue. When one starts talking 'Keyset', the registry comes to mind. A orphan keyset which is being called.
Also remember that in setting up the web application, that the installation will ask you for a User ID and password. If you are like us, our passwords change each 6 weeks and this create problems with bringing up the Master Data Manager AFTER a password
change. In fact I have often resorted to creating a 'new web site' with each password change BEFORE I decided to opt for using a Process ID, with an non expiring password to do your web configuration.
I do not know if I have answered your question, just a gut feel. Please do let us know if the steps that I mentioned resolve your issue.
    Sincerest regards

  • Create database manually

    Hello Everyone,
I need to create a database manually. It needs to be a data warehouse database. How can I go about doing that? I tried to create a database thru DBCA but it was giving me an error something about AWR. I don't have the excat error but I can get for you. Please any help is appreciated. I am on AIX 5.3 platform.
    Thanks

I got this error while creating the database. So
which SYSAUX tablespace am I suppose to extend? If you get this message while creating a database, then the tablespace it refers to would be the one for the database you are creating. Unlike SQLServer, in Oracle the term 'database' is the highest level of organization there is. Except for the possible contention for system level resources, this new database neither knows nor cares a thing about any other databases that may exist anywhere in the universe. In Oracle, every database (and here I use the term 'database' in a broad sense - to include the files and the instance(s)) has its own files, memory, and processes. Multiple databases can communicate with each other, but they don't share anything - not files, not memory, not process, not logical objects within the database.
Just find the place in the CREATE DATABASE script where it defines the SYSAUX tablespace and adjust the size accordingly.

  • Creating database Manually

    Dear Experts
I want to create database in oracle 10g manually, without using dbca or create database script on sql. I have been searching google, but not getting any related document. Can you please guide me or provide any link where I get steps to create a database by copying files etc

Thanks to all of you for your prompt response. But in all these responses, I have to issue CREATE DATABASE scrip. There is another way in which we do not use CREATE DATABASE statement, and create all files and folders manually. I did this exercise in the past but now lost all the stuff. Anyways, thanks for your replyIf you are asking about creating a database than how it can be possible to do it without issuing Create Database command? How can you create the files and folders manually? May be you should refer to the reply of Pierre where he has mentioned to create a database using a backup.

sorry to revive this thread but i have one more issue with this. I created a database with DBCA insetead of CREATE DATABASE command and selected option for Fast Recovery Area space. This automatically set initialization parameter db_recovery_file_dest and db_recovery_file_dest_size, but did not create a OMF redo log group, but instead created three redo log groups with 1 member each.
    select * from v$logfile returns:
    1          ONLINE     /u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb2/redo01.log     NO
    2          ONLINE     /u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb2/redo02.log     NO
    3          ONLINE     /u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb2/redo03.log     NO
Any idea why if creating a database with create database command and specifying db_recovery_file_dest creates an OMF redo log group and with DBCA it doesn't?

    Hi,
From the error message it seems that there is not enough info for recovery. Probably your redo log was overwritten with new information, but currently you need info that was overwritten. If you have not used ARCHIVELOG mode, than overwritten redo info is lost.

  • Cannot create database ORA-03113 error

    Hi all,
I ve just installed oracle 9i on win2k server , after installation i went to create a
database using DBCA. After filling up the necessary, when i click on create database it gives me the following error.
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Though i am getting a ignore option i preferred aborting it.
    Someone please help

    hi 477985,
Is it some thing tat you want to create the db using wizard. you can actually save it as a script and run tat.
Anyway, just check for disk & physical memory. Stop if any other server or service is running and give a try
    Cheers,

  • DBCA and Creating Database Manually

    Hi
After creatinig the database using Create Database command, we need to run the scripts like catproc.sql,etc. It takes a long time.
However when we create the database using DBCA, it is faster and we are not required to run those scripts.
    Reasons ?

In DBCA, if you choose to create a db with the template 'General Purpose or Transaction Processing' including data files, you would put a check mark in the Generate Database Creation Scripts section to produce scripts with the same actions as run by DBCA (including the rman clone of the seed database). With these scripts you don't need to run cat* scripts seperately.
Time the <db_name>.bat run against the same run "within" DBCA.

  • Customizing a Create Database Deployment Procedure Error

I'm trying to set up a DbaaS, as it's part of the training I'm undergoing in Oracle in Caracas, Venezuela.
In a topic, of the same title, I was asked to "please post your questions to internal forum. Please check out http://em.us.oracle.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=120:266:88354713473366::NO:::" because "It appears that you are an Oracle employee" and shortly after, my thread was closed, I am not a Oracle Employee, I do not have access to this internal forum, my supervisor has, not me, and my supervisor has denied my plea to get this issue posted on the internal forums or MOS, mostly because its just training and it has nothing to do with a client, I'd appreciate feedback instead of offtopic comments, getting my thread closed will certainly not get me any answers.
I've managed to set up my zone, install the software, configure it and everything is running smoothly, until now. I've been following this cookbook and the information on the documentation for EM12c and I ran across this little issue which, seems like, no one in the office seems to have ever gotten (makes sense, considering I'm the only one who's actually managed to install the EM12 in the laboratory, and the only one who was assigned with the DbaaS). Running on a Solaris 11 SPARC zone.
If you check the page 22 on the cookbook (linked above) I have to launch the "Create Oracle Database" deployment procedure, after this, the wizard asks me to select the version (11.0.2.1.0) and lock it, also have to tell the wizards its a single instance, after this I select the host and the ORACLE_HOME where the db files are installed. Once I do that and try to go for NEXT, I get the following error:
User "oracle" is not the owner of Oracle Home "/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1" on target "dbaas"
and I'm not able to continue setting up my DbaaS. One of the trainees thought it was a good idea to, from /, use chown -R /oracle oracle:oinstall to see if that would fix the error, sadly he was mistaken, after this, the wizard told me I had to run the root.sh from the Agent Home, there are 3 folders that must be owned by root and once I ran the root.sh I still got the same error. I have no idea if there are any logs I can check about this, if they are needed, It'd be nice of you to tell me where I can find them.
Another thing I tried, was using the Create Like... option, make a copy of the "Create Oracle Database" and edit the error handling in the procedure steps by selecting Continue On Error, but I can't. Trying to select Continue On Error justs brings Stop On Error again.
I also had this problem before:
    Can't locate db/dbclone/clone_util.pl in @INC (@INC contains: /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/5.10.0 /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/site_perl/5.10.0 /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/5.10.0 /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/site_perl/5.10.0 /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.1/agent/core/12.1.0.1.0/perl/lib/site_perl .) at - line 1
Luckily my supervisor told me he went in to the MOS website (website I can't visit, but my supervisor can) and found a way around it, he simply told me to edit the Privilege Delegation to: /usr/bin/sudo -E -u %RUNAS% %COMMAND%, but he wasn't able to find any feedback on the error I posted before, I'd just like to know if this two errors are related, maybe there's something we missed.
Thank you very much beforehand, this would really help me with my training. Also, please bear with me, I'm currently in the first semester of Computer Science and I had absolutely no experience or any knowledge on installing/configuring/running Oracle products and what I would call "advanced" UNIX handling (because apache server and mysql isn't really rocket science) until 3 weeks ago.
    Regards,
    Daniel.

you should not have run chown -R for oracle software. where was your agent installed ?
was that also installed on /oracle ? by what OS account it was installed . if it was oracle, you did the right thing by running root.sh as root.
however rdbms s/w could still be in mess. can you please restore it to its original owner/permission. and then when launching the "Create Oracle Database" deployment procedure, use original owner (of rdbms s/w) credentials to continue.
for setting up DBaaS, you must NOT use "Create Like".
