Create effect on magazine cover for Ipad 2

Good afternoon, if I can help please, I want to know how to create an effect on magazine cover for ipad 2, so that the user pressing a finger onthe screen gradually leave bare the lower layer is actually the real coverof the magazine.
I'm new to DPS 5.5, thanks.
a greeting

My guess would be that you should do this in HTML5 with Edge maybe? Have you looked at Bob's Tutorial http://cookbooks.adobe.com/post_Creating_an_HTML_Scratch_Off_Effect-19672.html - Might put you in the right direction...

  • I have created a spreadsheet on numbers for ipad with a list of customers as a drop down menu. How can i make their address appear underneath when i select the customer?

I have created a spreadsheet on numbers for ipad with a list of customers as a drop down menu. How can i make their address appear underneath when I select the customer?
    iselect the customer?

    Hi bazza,
We won't be able to put the address from a formula into the same cell that you enter the customer's name. We can put the address in the cell under the customers name.
First let's take James advice and concatenate the address in the address table.
Here is the formula in G2
    =CONCATENATE(B2&"
    ",C2&"
    ",D2&"
    ",E2)
It shows this way because after I clicked on B2 and typed [&"] (no brackets) I typed option-return
This gives you your new line. Then I typed the closing ". I repeated this for the rest of the address.
Next we want to bring this to your order sheet. I prefer using the two formulas OFFSET and MATCH instead of VLOOKUP.
base tells OFFSETwhere to start counting from. Click A1.
row-offset is for the row. we will use MATCH() -1 to give us the row.
What MATCH does is give you the row number where something is found and you can specify an exact match. I usually construct the MATCH formula first and then cut and paste it into OFFSET. MATCH looks like this: MATCH(A2,Table 1::A,0). A2 is what we are looking for, Table 1A::A is where we are looking (the entire column A), and 0 means we want an exact match. Can you see it inside the OFFSET formula? Notice that we had to subtract 1 from its result.
column-offset tells OFFSET which column A=0 so we want 6.
we ignore "rows", "colomns" we don't need them.
If this seems like too much, just break it down into small pieces.

  • Best method to create a spinnable flower windmill for iPad and Android

What is the best method to create a spinnable flower windmill for iPad and Android?  I want to be able to drag and spin.  The faster you drag, the faster it should spin.  Each petal will have an image which will be its own link.  Any links to tutorials, toolkits, and recent examples are greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Here's a whell that spins, but it has a spin button instead of being able to drag it:

Seems to me the best ui would be to be able to drag it and stop it or drag it and spin it at various speeds.

  • Leather Smart Cover for iPad Mini?

I hope Apple creates a leather version of the Smart Cover for the iPad MIni.
The polyurethane version - while effective - feels rather cheap and flimsy.
Surely, it would be quite easy for Apple to design a leather version.
Perhaps they are waiting to release it with the Retina version of the iPad mini.
    Fingers crossed.

Apple has not announced such a cover that I've seen, and until they do, none of us will know more than you do. You can express your desire for such a cover here, if you wish:

  • How do i create a bleed wrap cover for a book?

I have a book I created in adobe framemaker 8.0, it is a 250 page manual, 7.5 x 9. I am now due to send it to the commercial printer and they want me to send a cover for a 'Perfect Bound' type binding.
Should I be using FM to do the cover or am I better off with a different adobe program?
If I use FM, do you have any advice in regard to book covers of this type?
Should the cover width be double the page width (18in) so that it can wrap around?
Any help you may provide is greatly appreciated.
    Thanx,
    William

    William,
Along with what Arnis said, I'll add that you may be able to submit a PDF to a printer that is the same page size as the body pages, with separate pages for the front and back. A printshop should be able to impose the cover for you and in doing so, automatically account for the thickness of the book. I believe it is standard for a printshop to have this kind of software.
In general, I agree that FM is an adequate choice for this project, as long as it has sufficient typography and graphics controls that match your requirements. Most likely it does, but if you need highly-advanced layout tools, you might have to consider InDesign.

  • Where can I find a cover for Ipad 1

I need to find a cover for my son's IPad 1st generation? where can I find one?

Some retailers are still carrying a few covers for the original iPad, althought not as many as you will find for newer models. Your best best may be online. Try a Google search, as well as Amazon, MacMall.

  • Apple iPad 2 Smart Cover For iPad 1

    Helo folks
Since no difference between first and sec gen. Of pad's screen , length and width sizes, i want to get a ipad 2 smart cover for my original ipad 1 , possible ? .. It should
    ?

The display size and resolution are the same, the iPads themselves are not exactly the same dimension. Also, the new iPad has magnets inside of it help the smart cover attach itself to the new model.
You would be wasting your money, the Smart Cover is for the iPad 2 only.

  • Does the leather cover for ipad 2 fit ipad 3?

as above, Ive recently purchased iPad 3 and wondering will the leather cases for ipad 2 fit new ipad 3?  I cant see it in product descriptions...
    Thank you

If you mean the iPad Smart Cover, yes it fits the new iPad. Read about it here. Go to the bottom of the page.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD306LL/A/ipad-smart-cover-dark-gray
If you are talking about another case or cover - you really have to be specific. There are hundreds of them on the market.

  • How can I modify the default styles or create new ones in pages for IPad?

Hi, I have recently bought the pages for IPad App. It is nice, but I wonder How to modify the default styles or create My own ones...Can anyone help me?

Unfortunately, pages on the iPad does not support editing styles. The mac version is an extremely powerful piece of software (I know someone who has recently completed their PhD thesis in it), but the iPad version has only a fraction of the features.
The only word processor for the iPad I'm aware of that fully provides support for styles is UX Write - see http://www.uxproductivity.com (disclaimer: I've been involved with the development of this app). This is designed for the sort of high-end professional authoring tasks that you can do with Pages for Mac. Customisable styles are one of the most fundamental aspects of this app, and it provides extensive formatting options and the ability to define your own, new, custom styles.

  • Accidental cover for iPad 2? (IN UK)

I am looking for Accidental cover for my iPad 2 that is being delivered today. The only decent company and price I can find is Squaretrade, who only sell on Amazon in the UK.
They do accidental cover for a decent price. But has anyone else purchased their cover, and had to use it? How is their service?
Also, here: http://www.squaretrade.co.uk/pages/uk-aboutus It says that they will not replace your item with a refurbished item, but in their T&C's ( http://www.squaretrade.co.uk/htm/pdf/SquareTradeUKTermsandConditionsF3.pdf ), it says:
Depending on the item and failure circumstances, at our sole
    discretion, we will either:
 Repair your insured item, or
 Provide a cash settlement or a gift card reflecting the
*replacement cost of a new item of equal features* and
functionality up to the price paid for the insured item, or
 Provide a new, rebuilt, or ref*urbished product* of the same or
    newer model
Does this mean that potentially they could provide a cheap tablet not made by apple, or would the apple OS be included as a feature, meaning they would have to provide an iPad. I am also confused as they say no refurbished products on the website, but in their T&C's doc they say the opposite

We are not ignoring your question - but in the US I suspect very few people even think about that kind of cover for something that is borderline disposable. It is not a cheap device, but very few of us would purchase a specific cover on an IPAD any more than we would buy specific insurance on a new TV or a new washing machine.
Also given Apple's pretty good reputation on warrenty items, and the ready availability of apple care for extended issues, the feeling is that you are really only covering theft (probably covered under your homeowners), and dropping in the tub, or running over it with your car.
It will be interesting to see what other feedback you get.

  • Smart Cover for iPad Air does not stay closed

The iPad Air Smart Cover is a different design to the previous versions of the Smart Cover, it has no metal spine on the left side and the magnets do not appear to be as strong as the previous versions. Presumably Apple has done this to reduce the production cost, and increase profits.
The result of this is that if one holds the iPad with the spine of the cover in the left had and the thumb on the first section of the cover and then tips the iPad over to the left the cover opens when the iPad is tipped past the vertical, towards the left side. This is made worse  when the iPad is fitted with a third party back protector case which fits over the front edge slightly.
This problem did not exist with the earlier iPads and their Smart Covers. We have an iPad 2 and iPad 3 both fitted out with Smart Covers and third party back covers. Both of these can be tipped over completely, upside-down, while holding them (in the manner described above) and they do not open.
We tried our new iPad Air Smart cover on other iPad Airs at the store (not Apple) and we also tried other Smart Covers on our iPad Air. They all had the same problem.
The only fix will be if Apple recognise the problem and improve the design of the Smart Cover
NOTE: We also tried the Smart Case and this had the same problem.
So, my questin is to Apple: When will I be able to exchange the Smart Cover for an updated version that does not have this problem?

I also have an iPad Air, and a genuine Apple Air Smart Cover. Cover stuck fine in the closed position (even if upside down) for several months. Cover also stuck to the right hand back of the iPad Air when open and folded back, even if upside down.
About a week ago, the right hand edge of the cover started being slightly repelled from the right hand edge iPad Air when closed. This left the iPad at risk of not actuating the on off switch, or at least being very sensitive to any movement.
The cover still stuck to the back of the iPad Air when open and folded back.
I believe Apple have magnets in the right hand edge of the cover, not just a passive strip of iron. If so, the polarity between back and front of the cover will be opposite. I believe Apple are somehow arranging the magnets in the right hand side of the iPad Air to change position depending on whether the cover is closed on the front, or open and folded to the back. I suspect Apple somehow allow the magnets in the iPad Air to pivot or move to provide a decent attraction both front and back regardless of cover polarity.
When I get hold of some magnetic viewing film I will check the magnet locations further.
My iPad Air went back to attracting the cover to both front and back a day or so ago. I had made no alterations. This correction happened after leaving the cover closed (and hovering mid air by a milimetre or two) overnight.
I believe the problem is in the iPad Air, not in the Smart Cover.
