Create equal grid in illustrator using grid tool

Hi
Getting very frustrated, want to translate my vector illustrations to charts for cross stitch kits. Using the grid tool, but the lines aren't equally spaced? I have a 100cm x 100cm document at the moment, with 1 cm making a 'stitch'. I want a grid that is 100cm x 100cm, made up of 1cm x 1cm squares for simplicity. Then be able to print the design out on the grid.
Is this possible please? Thanks

To get actual saquares to align to, and to avoid any funny things that grids may present you with, you may:
1) Create one 1x1cm square,
2) Effect>Distort&Transform>Transform, set Move Horizontal to 1cm with 99 Copies,
3) Effect>Distort&Transform>Transform, set Move Vertical to 1cm (or -1cm) with 99 Copies,
That will create a set of 100x100 squares that are 1x1cm, then:
4) Object>Expand Appearance to get selectable squares; you may Ungroup them.

As long as the OS is the same, it shouldn't matter that one or both are virtualized. I say that with the caveat that (1) MetaLink note 249212.1 states in no uncertain terms that no Oracle product is supported under VMware, and (2) I was told just this afternoon by a member of a development team that it was. I asked if he had documentation to that effect and he said he did and would email it to me when he returned to his office.
I am using oracle 10.2.0.1 ..dont ask why 10.2.0.1Ok, I won't ask why 10.2.0.1.

Spark DataGrid - Turn off separators (grid lines) while using Grid itemRenderer?

I have a spark dataGrid. We have to use an itemRenderer to format numbers and column colors. When I apply a Data Grid Skin to remove the separtors (grid lines), the grid lines remain? It seems you can't have an itemRenderer and a Grid Skin at the same time ?? That sounds kind of foolish, however that's what I'm seeing?!?!
So, how can I get rid of the grid lines (separators) while using itemRenderers as well?

Illustrator: Using pen tool or brush tool?

Hello,
I'd like to trace my pencil sketch in Illustrator, or inking. Some tuts advice to use a pen tool but some tuts recommend to use a brush tool - which one I should use and why? I think using the pen tool is very slow way to trace (It's taking hours!) but I need advice to set the brush tool settings working like I would use a pen on paper. A line of brush tool leaves too thin ending or too rounded etc.
If someone could help me and tell, I'd be very happy for that. Thank you.

Three things that may speed up tracing are practice, knowing where to place the Anchor Points and how long to drag out Handles (both of which may be built up through try and fail, sorry practising), and a special cheat.
The special cheat consists of pressing the Spacebar to lock the Handles and move the current Anchor Point about. You can switch back and forth quickly and make the crucial mutual adjustment of position and shape while tracing.
It is worth really working on where to place the Anchor Points; you may be surprised so trying beyond what would seem likely is important.

How to add a 'stoke path' using 'pen tool' on CS6 (mac)?

I'm a beginner at photoshop and I'm only 14 years old. I need to know this for my GCSE project.

Using pen tool and stroke path, but when i use the pen tool I'm not sure how to add the stroke path like that.
I've used CS4 previously at school and when you right clicked on the path it came up with this:
I haven't a clue how to get that up on CS6 (on mac) and when you right click it, it just seems to continue adding the path. Any help?

Normally, you set DISPLAY to an IP address with the suffix : and 0.0: the IP address must match a machine able to display X11 windows.
Example with Linux bash shell:
export DISPLAY=192.168.0.1:0.0What is your OS version ? What is your shell (bash, ksh, sh, csh) ? How do you connect to the UNIX host ?

Create data guard using grid control 10gR3?

Has anyone been able to create a data guard of 10g R2 (10.2.0.3 dbs) using Grid Control 10gR3?
My creation stopped on cloning the standby db step. And i had to finish it manually but i'm just wondering if it has worked for anyone else?

One step further. I enabled debug tracing for the agent and noticed that the creation of the windows service causes an error.

Although the other steps complete succesfully (using the same credentials), it fails creating the service. Don't know why, yet...

Entering text within sections of a Polar Grid within illustrator.

I have created a polar grid in illustrator with many sections. I want to be able to enter text in every section of the grid and not just along the path lines. How do i create text frames so each grid section within the polar grid is separate and therefore allows me to click on it and enter text. I would also like to change the colour of all the polar grid sections individually. I think it might have something to do with threaded text but not sure. Once i have created frames for each section I assume this will allow me to do this. Please can someone explain how i can resolve this problem. Thank you in advance.

You may (Smart Guides are your friends):
1) Create the Polar grid with twice as many Radial Dividers as you wish to end with; the surplus ones are for Path Type;
You may Ungroup and work with the Selection Tool for selection, or work with the Direct Selection Tool for selection in the following;
2) If you only wish to have text in some of the segments round the grid delete the rest, the unwanted dividers;
Either:
3) Select the Concentric Divider outside the segments to have text (if you Direct Select it, click it in the layers palette to select the whole path, then Object>Path>Divide Objects Below; repeat for the Concentric Divider inside the segments to have text;
Or:
3) Cut each of the surplus dividers with the Scissors Tool at the bordering Concentric Dividers (Smart Guides say intersect when you are there);
4) Delete the unwanted parts of the surplus Radial Dividers that are outside the segments to have text (with the Direct Selection Tool you have to delete twice to get rid of the end points);
5) Select all the paths for the Path Type and Object>Path>Add Anchor Points;
6) Select each of the paths from 5 where the Type is to go outside in and rotate by 180 degrees (Object>Transform>Rotate);
7) Set Paragraph>Align Center, then select the first path, then click the midpoint with the Path Type Tool and type the first bit, then use the Character>Baseline Shift to get it centred over the baseline;
8) Type the other bits in the same way (the baseline shift will work for them as well).

Displaying contents of two int. tables in same screen using grid display

Performance reports using Grid Control

Can we create and schedule database performance reports using oracle 10g grid control?

Yeah its possible to generate the performance reports using Grid Control.
Ex:
Oracle Enterprise Manager GRID Server contains built in reports to support Database Administrators to generate sightly reports.
First Thing is to click to "Reports" tab on the top, right hand side of the GRID Management Console (figure_grid_management_console). This page is where all the predefined and custom reports can be find. Now click on the "Create" Button on top of the page to create a new custom report. "Create Report Definition" page comes to the screen. There are four tabs for the definition of the report.

Can we schedule Loader Jobs (SQL Loader) using Grid Control ?

Can we schedule SQL Loaders jobs/process using Grid Control for 11g database ?
Or
Is it good to schedule it as external jobs using DBMS_SCHEDULER ?
OS is LINUX. Database is 11g R1 Grid Control will be the latest, I believe 10gR3.
Any other suggestions... (I know it can be done using OS utilities like cron and others but that is not an option for now.)

Try this
-> Create a shell script to execute sqlldr
-> On Grid, create an "OS COMMAND" job and pass this script as parameters. You'll have options to schedule this job.

Illustrator cc crashing when using curvature tool

OK, the new curvature tool is very easy and saves time in certain situations, but every time I try to move a point on a curve using the tool Illustrator crashes.
Anyone had a similar experience? I am using a Sony VAIO laptop I7 with 8g RAM and an AMD 7570. Video driver support is nonexistent as the manufacturer drivers do not work and Sony dumped the VAIO line. ANy other ideas?
At least I found an autosave add-on and I'm not losing much work anymore!

Can you please share the dump file of AI CC 2014 when it crashes ?
Steps:
1) When AI displays the crash dialog right after moving the curvature point then please do not dismiss it.
2) Launch Task Manager
3) Right Click on the Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 listed in Task Manager
4) Choose the option "Create dump file"
5) Let the dumping operation get completed and then share the newly created dump file "Illustrator.dmp" using any file sharing online services.

Physical database creation using Grid Control fail

I have tried several times to create a physical standby using Grid Control. Everytime, the job failed at the step "DBClone -> Destination Preparation". The log file indicated the following error message:
PLS-00553: character set name is not recognized.
When I check the spfile, I find that an extra word "PuTTY" was inserted into the spfile as shown in the following spfile, therefore, the instance cannot be started. In addition, everytime when issuing the command "cat spfilermslag.ora", the word "PuTTY" will automatically appear in the command line after the "cat spfilermslag.ora" command.
$ cat spfilermslag.ora
