I want To create a Forum in our EP.60, is there any documentation?
Does somebody knows how to use the Collaboration for this purpose

The Path for reproduce the issue is:
Course Administration>Courses>
Schedule a Course Date
Search in course Catalog--> I select a Course Catalog
Press the button start-->

Please check T77EV and compare it from client 000 system.
Are the entries same as in client 000 ?
Seems that there is an incorrect entry in this table.

Popup message while creating new CRM activities in the Portal

Hello All,
We are implementing EP 7.0 SPS 12 and have integrated CRM 5.0 with it. We have installed CRM BP 5.0 SPS 01.
When we are creating activities through the Portal using the "Business Activity" iview and then save the creation, we get a popup with the message - <b>"The web page you are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close this window?"</b>..
What could be wrong and how should we solve this?

I think that this kind of message will come because of the timeout property in the backend system(CRM).Try to figure out the timeout property in backend and increase the same.

Problem Create System Object in the Portal for connecting CRM abap

Hi, i creating system in the portal (JCX) for connecting system ABAP CRM (CRX), after create system try run test connection and show messages error:
Test Connection with Connector
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
In the logs the portal (NWA) show messages:
Failed in creating the JCO Connection.
The logs operation system (log Security_audit.log)

During the System Object Creating in System Landscape, there is any entry as Message Server Host: CRM MS HOST
and Message Server Port : sapmsSID and add this entry in etc/services --> bottom samsSID 36NN/tcp where NN is instance number.

Users details not getting populated in the portal tables..

Hi,
We have implemented single sign on (SSO) and we do not create users in the portal as user/pwd come from OID.
Now becoz of this the portal tables are not getting populated.I require that all the users of the OID to be populated in the portal tables. How can I do it.I depserately require it.

You can use the function wwsec_api.activate_portal_user to create the shadow records in the portal repository.

BW integration with the Portal

I need to integrate BW reports into the Portal. Currently my reports are organized around role menus. I need to know what are the best practices around:
- role creation. what is the strategy of creating roles in the Portal. do we import the BW roles into the Portal? do we create new roles based on the BW roles? how can BW roles be migrated to the Portal?
- the execution of online reports from the Portal. Can we run ad-hoc reports in the Portal? can the user select characterstics or change the BW queries from the Portal?

Problem with a form in the portal.

Sounds like a problem with the privileges.
Try creating a new user, say user_temp, and grant the user Manage privilege to All Portal DB Providers and Manage to All Schemas.
Try creating a form after logging in as user_temp.
The minimum privileges required to create a Portal DB provider component is Create privilege on the Portal DB Providers and Manage on the Portal DB Provider schema.

How to create a Blog in Portal

We are upgrading to portal verion 7.0. I have been getting a lot of requests to create blogs on the portal. Is there a cookbook for configuring and using blogs? I have been looking on the SDN for info on this and I can't find what I need. Pointers would be much appreciated.

The WPC might give you some Blog features. There are some feature as blog comments available.

How to enable create user option in portal under user administration?

In Portal, in user administration tab, always the create user and Copy to New user option is disabled, how can i enable those?

If the AS ABAP is your datasource for your users there is NO WAY you can create users in the portal UME.
● If the UME has read-only access, you cannot modify user attributes stored in the ABAP system, like first name and last name. You can modify attributes stored in the UME database, like street. Even if read-only access is assigned, users can still change their own passwords.
● If the UME has read-write access, you can create users using the tools of the J2EE Engine. Users created in this way are stored as users in the ABAP system. Extended user data that cannot be stored in the standard ABAP user record is stored in the database of the UME.
in the read/write access the users are created only in the ABAP side and not the java. If you have the read access you cannot create users in the abap side. hence you need the SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION role to create users in the AS ABAP.....
Trust me .......bottomline ....you cannot create users in the JAVA UME if you have AS ABAP as your datasource !!!!

Unable to find Par file while creating iview in the template

Hi All,
Iam trying to change the Masthead iview, i deployed in NWDS and successfull. but while creating iView in the portal i could find the par file in the template.
And when iam creating sample Portal application it is visible in template.
Setting in the NWDS are correct. Can any one suggest what is happening here.

Hi DV,
don't try to create an iView from template, but one from par. In the list you'll find your project name and within the project - voila: your portal application.

Cannot create new form in portal

hello
i have a problem creating a form in portal!
i log in portal with the username orcladmin, then i click on builder -> navigator -> providers -> open(any provider) -> create new form (or report or chart)
i get the error in internet explorer The page cannot be found (link =http://marpolas.marpol.si:7783/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwexp_api_engine.create_action)
in netscape the error is a little different
The requested URL /pls/portal/PORTAL.wwv_menu.menu was not found on this server.
it is imposible for me to create new forms in portal.
Any ideas?

Creating headers and footers in the portal

i had created a simple portal and modified the shell file inside the framework dir, include the path of the header.jsp which is inside the support dir form the shell file.

How to use a page created in the VC in the portal?

Follow the following steps.
1) Logon to the portal.
2) Goto content Admin-> Portal Content and in portal Content directory open Visual Composer folder.
3) Within this Visual Composer folder u will find the model in which u have created your page. Open this madel and open the page that u want to preview it.
4) Preview the page.

We want to be able to display informational messages on the logon page before the user logs in. Currently we make changes to several ASP files in EP5 to display the messages. We want to be able to give privileged users the ability to enter the message, enter start/end date, etc. We want to do this in EP6 as well.

Creating Web Services in the Portal

I'm trying to create a Web Service in the portal based on a URL. However I am having some issues with the User Management settings. I've explained below the steps I've followed in order to setup the Web Service and the issue I am having.
I go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape then I select my folder and right click. I then select New -> System (from template).
I then select "Web Service System using WSDL URL" and insert the URL for my Web Service. The issue I am then having is that when I access the User Management page I can only choose "NONE" or "UIDPW" as the Logon Method. However, I need to choose SAPLOGONTICKET which should be one of the options but isn't.
Does anyone know why this last option is not being displayed and how to fix this issue?
