Create Functional Area via Job Architecture in Non-English language

Dear Experts,
We're running following environment.
- Windows Server 2003 Std SP2 64bit (32bit conversion completed)
- SAP ERP 6.0 EhP 4 Unicode system as back-end system for STVN
- STVN 2.1 SP1 with Japanese Language pack
- Language = Japanese and English
- TREX setting is not ready (will be ready soon)
The problem is we cannot create Functional Area via Job Architecture
if we log on Job Architecture module with JAPANESE.
(We can create Functional Area if we log on with ENGLISH)
[Procedure]
1. Launch Job Architecture module with Japanese
2. Job Architecture => Create Functional Area (under Tasks)
3. Key in [Title] and [Abbreviation], and then click [Add]
4. Error message "Not able to load DLL or CLASS" appears
I have already confirmed that if I do same thing with English,
Functional Area was created in ECC environment.
What settings am I missing?

In terms of the films that are available there, Apple can only sell the films that the studios/rights-holders have granted them licenses to sell there. Handling Non English language characters in PDF output

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we have to display an existing Smartform output in a PDF format.
We have used OTF to PDF conversion and displayed the PDF output in a container.
The issue is if certain characters are of non english language then the PDF is displaying these characters as special symbols.
The following string is getting dispalyed in the SmartForm as follows:
ОРЕНБУРГАВТОРЕМСЕРВИС_
The same string is displayed as follows in the PDF form :
Any pointers on how to handle such cases would be highly appreciated.

Before calling the smartform, use the FM 'SSF_GET_DEVICE_TYPE' and get the device type based on the language.
For eg:
CALL FUNCTION 'SSF_GET_DEVICE_TYPE'
    EXPORTING
      i_language = l_langu
    IMPORTING
      e_devtype = lwa_output_options-tdprinter.
Then you need to build the other control parameters like this:
Build control parameters.
lwa_control_parameters-getotf = c_charx.
lwa_control_parameters-device = 'PRINTER'.
lwa_control_parameters-preview = ''.
lwa_control_parameters-no_dialog = c_charx.
lwa_output_options-tddest = 'LOCL'.
Pass this lwa_output_options & lwa_control_parameters to output_options & control_parameters respectively in the Smartform FM.
This should ideally solve this issue.

Passwords in non-english languages

Hi all,
I have some passwords in non-english languages, but enter them in English layout. Looks like "FylhjblDHfpsKexit".
Standard keyboard doesn't display another language while it in English layout. How to enter such passwords?
Remake passwords in English - bad idea.

Again: What language are you talking about?
It sounds to me like your passwords are in fact in Latin characters, but you want to enter them as if you were using some other language keyboard. I think the only way to do that would probably be to use a bluetooth keyboard.
You could ask Apple to add the feature you want via

I don't think you get a language translator package.
What you can do is store the fraises, words in a database.

I am getting emails in a foreign (non-english) language?

I am receiving emails in a non-english language. I guess I must have pressed something during installation and/or startup. This is not a wish to choose a language to open web pages with it is the language with which Mozilla is attempting to communicate with me.

This is not my problem; the emails are from Mozilla.
I tried the previous suggestion and it looks like its going to work but at the end it pops up a screen that says "How Embarrassing". I says the problem could be caused by an open web sight or to set up a completely new session, which doesn't work either.

Our conversion programs for english is working fine but we are not sure about the approach for other language converions. Can anyboody share the knowledge if faced similar requirements?

I believe your conversion programs should work regardless of the language the data is stored in, as long as the database and Apps use UTF8 characterset. To the code, data is data, whether it is in English or in another language. Your approach should be to test your conversion programs in test instances and tweak them as necessary. Are there specific concerns you have with using data in other languages ?

Does Active Directory Support Non English Languages?

I want to know that does Active Directory Support Non English Languages like japanes, Arabian?
I think we can have domain name in non english languages also. How active directory handles it.

Functional Areas and Job families maintenance - EhP 4

Hi all,
I've read in an older SAP doc that Job Families and Functional Areas are only maintanable through the Talent Management Specialist in the Enterprise portal. I remember that maintaing JFs in the the backend caused some issues in EhP 3.
I wonder if this is still the case in Enhancement Package 4.
Is is possible to maintain the FN and JF objects through the backend i.e. PP01? Or are these objects still intended for use strictly with the Talent Management Specialist in the portal?
If anyone could point me to the newest documentation on this subject or has the answer to this that would be great.

It is indeed possible to maintain FN and JF in PP01. SAP has also included HRTMC_PPOM (as well as HRTMC_PPOS & HRTMC_PPOC) as equivalents to PPOME for working with these objects and other TM objects/relationships.

Note in that 2nd link, SAP basically says if you want a more 'graphic' interface, then you can use certain Nakisa submodules.

Sapscript translated in non-english language - Garbled output as Email

Hi Experts,
I've translated a SAPscript to Chinese and Thai language.
As per my requirement, the output can either be printed, emailed or faxed.
I'm using the standard include RVADOPFO for Open form.
For the english version, I'm able to recieve the properly formatted e-mail output.
However in case of thai and chinese, the Thai and Chinese characters do not appear. Most of them are substituted with blank spaces and some are substituted with boxes and unknown characters. However, the numbers and english characters appear.
Please help in getting the correct output.

How to submit request with default language as 'American English' in other non-english language sessions.

The issue is we created function using 'arabic' text in it, which runs perfect in the english session, but doesnt gets value in the arabic session.

Dear All,
I found the solution for the above function.
In the same function I removed the static arabic values replacing with code values from the value set.
In my scenario there is a value set where some of these values exists, and other we can add there.
Kindly let me know if someone was successful by using the arabic text in the coding and defaulting the language in conc prog as English.

Cfqueryparam and non-English languages

I want to store non-English characters in NCHAR NVARCHAR and
NTEXT field types.
In the examples below fields LastName and FirstName are
NVARCHAR type and
Comments is NTEXT
In the past when I wanted to store non English (Greek)
strings or texts in these field types I was writting

but ...... the non English characters are not stored
correctly.
So my question is
How can I use the cfqueryparam in order to store non English
characters in NCHAR NVARCHAR and NTEXT field types ???
The documentation has not any info on that.

You didn't say what version of CF you were using.
Also, which database driver are you using (ODBC or JDBC
version #)?
Anyway, it looks like you do not have the unicode support
turned on. See

If that doesn't help, post
sample data that inserts ok without cfparam but not ok with
cfparam.
