That is a Region Display Selector. Create it according to the instructions in the linked documentation.

  • Horizontal bar with red for negative and green for positive?

I need to use CF9 to create horizontal bar chart where the intensity of the red (negative) is determined by the amount of negativity of the values and similarly the intensity of the green is based on the amount of positivity of the values.
See attached snapshot. Ignore the value label.
Can CF10 do this. I briefly looked but does not appear so.
    Any advice? THANKS!!

Yes, with the new charting engine it is possible to do this with rules.  Check out my example at http://www.cfuser.com/library/demos/index.cfm?do=charting&get=bcr.  You have to set the threshholds and the colors.  The colors are two part to allow for gradients. I have also just posted a write-up at http://www.cfuser.com/rules-preview-zoom-and-flash/

  • How do I create a vertical side menu with its own styling separate from the horizontal bar above it?

Hello.  I need assistance in styling my side menu.  I would like for it to  have a different style than the horizontal bar that is above it.  I would like that the side menu have a black background and with white text vertically aligned to the left.  But I would also like that the mouse's arrow to turn into a hand when it touches the letters instead of during the entire width of the background.  When I began styling the text, everything aligned fine until I added the links in html code.  When I added the <a> tag and created a link to another page, the text goes from the left to the center of the black box.  And the entire width is a link rather than just the words.  To correct this, I tried renaming the div tag containg the menu.  I tried renaming the ul tag.  And I tried renaming the li tag and changing the declarations.  None of these ideas worked.  I thought about changing the <a> tag in the head of the document, but that didn't change the styling either.  I also tried creating the black background by inserting a black box as a background image with the links over top of the image.  It didn't work.  I would appreciate your assistance.   I will supply the coding if anyone is interested in looking at it.  Thank you.
    Nora.

I can post a link to the page.  But I will need to upload it.  It will take a day to show.  But after I wrote to you.  I began working with creating additional a:link styles.  I was able to create a shortened clickable area of one the words in the vertical menu.  Your advice reinforced what I have learned.  The following code shows that I started to make different styles of the a:link for each word on the vertical menu.  I think that this will work.  To indicate the different a:link style I used bold letters .  Thank you very much.

  • To create a sample pick list showing the position of Bar codes

    Dear All,
I need some guidance to create a sample pick list for Print. Its a bar-code printing with a shipment number which can be scanned for generating the pick lists. Tried still not able to create the sample pick list.
    Regards,

    Hi Ramesh,
To be more clear on this here is the scenario: -
The Shippers have to key in all shipment numbers two times on UPS, LTL, & TRUCKLOADS.  They have to key in the shipment numbers two times: - First to physically pull the units and then after all the units are pulled, they have to key in the shipment number again to get the packing or picking list to print.
To avoid this above process: -
If we could get the shipment number in a bar-code on the pick ticket above or beside the  CURRENT HUMAN READABLE NUMBER So that the shipment number can be scanned instead of keying in again.
For this scenario I want to create a pick list showing the position of the Bar-code after I change the printing logic through a smartform. For this I wanted to create a pick list to make the end user have a better visibility. Basically I want to create some test data. Any clues on this.

  • Horizontal Bar in the RSA3 is not showing up for Generic Datasource.

    Hi There,
Created a Generic Extarctor based on a two tables PAYR and REGUH.
Included 60 fields in the Generic datasource. Everything is fine and when i check the data in extract checker
RSA3, the horizontal bar is not showing up and i could only see 15 fields. I couldn't able to see the rest of the fields.
Can someone suggest what should i do to see all the fields in RSA3?  Why Horizontal bar is not showing up?
Out of 60 fields only very few are hidden and it should show atleast 40 fields, but not happening..
    Thanks
    Vandana

    HI There,
    Thanks for all your responses.
1 - Tried to change the layout by going into Menu Settings --> Layout ---> Current, but no option to change.
2 - If I check the value of a particular field in the magnifier, then I could able to see all the fields
3 - After executing the RSA3, tried to change to ALV Grid by going into LIST, but again no option available to change.
4 - Checked the RSA2, and to my surprise all the fields are ticked as Key. Is that something why i'm able to see all fields in
         the browser?
5 - But when the check the datasource in RSA6, only 3 were ticked as Key and those three fields i can see before
extracting  the data using extract checker RSA3.
6 - Why all fields are ticked and showing and Key in RSA2 ?
The above is the current status of this issue. Can anyone please suggest how i should go head?
    Thanks

  • Creating floating bar charts in Numbers '09

I have what seems a fairly simple requirement, but can't quite work out how to do it in Numbers...
I have a set of price ranges (quotes) and I want to put them on a graph, so I can see at a glance how they they tend to fall.
Ideally, I'd like the X axis to be price and the Y axis to be basically nothing - each quote gets its own line.
So I'm after a stack of horizontal bars indicating the from - to price range.
It doesn't seem that this should be too onerous, but I simply can't spot an appropriate graph type.
    Anyone?

I am trying to picture what you mean but I can't seem to. But I'll give it a shot.
EDIT: I wrote all this then re-read your post and this isn't what you were asking for. Oops.
All charts (graphs) need X's and Y's, though the Y's could be all be the same constant value. So the data you need to plot is a column of quotes (X data) with a column of 1's or checkboxes (Y data) next to it. I am guessing that you want your quotes to be spread across the X axis, not spaced evenly like they are in the bar charts. Otherwise you probably wouldn't be asking. You have two choices on how to do this.
    First way:
If you can create a list of evenly spaced quotes in the header column (A) with a column (B) of checkboxes next to it, you can use a bar chart. You would put a check next to any quote you want to appear on the chart. So you might have a column with quotes of $1, $2, $3, etc with checkboxes next to each which you can check/uncheck. This probably isn't practical in this case but I don't know your data so I'm throwing it out there.
    Second way:
Have a non-header column (B) of quotes and a corresponding column of 1's. Create a scatter chart. This will give you data points, not bars. In the Chart Inspector, Series tab, click on Advanced and add error bars to the Y axis. Make them negative only and 100%. Set the data point symbol to None. Then go to the Graphic Inspector and change the error bars so the line type is a straight line, the width is greater, and the color is what you want. This still isn't a bar chart but it is more like one.
There are variations on the second method. You can remove the Y axis gridlines and value labels so you have a single horizontal line (the X axis). You can plot 0's instead of 1's and make positive, fixed value error bars.

  • Horizontal Bar Chart and Overlaying Line Chart

I am using SSRS 2008 and developing my reports in BIDS.
I have a report with two data points. I want to chart the first as a bar (horizontal) chart and then the second as an overlaying line chart.
I created both data series, originally, as a bar chart. I have clicked on the second series in the "Drop Data Fields Here" area and changed the chart to a line chart. When I do that, it changes both series to a line chart.
However, if I use the column (vertical) chart for the first series, it will let me make the second one a line chart.
Is this a limitation of SSRS 2008? Can I not have one data point be the horizontal bar chart and the second one a line chart?
If so, are there any suggestions how to get around this?
    Thanks.

Both charts for SSRS 2005/2008 are very limited when it comes to horizontal charts and are infact supporting only left-to-right bar charts, with no ability to combine them with other charting types (lines, areas, points etc.). For a SSRS charting solution that supports all types of charting type combinations in left-to-right and right-to-left horizontal fashion you can use Nevron Chart for SSRS - www.nevron.com. Besides a huge number of charting types and subtypes (most of which are not available in the MS Chart for SSRS 2008) it also provides better image quality in 2D and 3D modes, more settings, has support for rich text formatting in texts, has image filters, ability to customize via C# code and implements many more large and small charting related details.

  • Random horizontal bars in Mavericks... PLEASE HELP!!!

The random horizontal bars in Mavericks that are shown in the link seem to occur when computer is under abnormal stress. It even happens at times when I just started up Safari or randomly flung the screen over to the widgets panel for the first time in days. The problem only in Mavericks, it didn't happen on Mountain Lion or Lion. The bars even show up irregularly on the shadows of certain program windows, the shadow that the window box is projecting onto the background. It's almost like the programs can't find the icon images that go with their parts or the images they find are corrupt. If so, what do I do about this?
    Here are my stats:
    Mac: Mid 2010, 15-inch
processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 288 MB
    Software: OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
Here's the image if you can't see what's below
Thank You very much for checking this out!

    Hey there,
First off, go ahead and try these steps:
do an SMC and PRAM reset
          - turn the computer off, make sure the charger is connected. Hold down the shift, control, and option on the left hand side of the keyboard, while all three are pressed, also press the power button. The computer should not come on
          - after that, let go of everything and then do this. Hold down the command, option, R, and P keys and then press the power button, now keep a hold of the command, option, P, and R until you hear the start up chime twice
    - after that, if it still persists, check for an EFI firmware update, which you can find you computer in this list here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1237
    - if that doesnt work, you may have to do a reinstall of the OS X and to do that, do this:
          - turn the computer off, then hold down the Command + R keys and then turn it back on
          - keep holding down the command + R until you see a screen that asks for your language.
         - choose English and the arrow in the bottom
         - Then after that, the second option should say "reinstall Mac OS X" choose that option and go through the steps to reinstall. After that, it should be ok.
    - if all else fails, you may have to go to an Apple store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider and see if they can run some diagnostics, maybe the onboard graphics are causing some issues.

  • Widgit for horizontal bar divided by configurable number of sliders?

    hi,
does anyone know of a prefabricated gui widgit (or how to construct one) that is a horizontal bar divided in a configurable (and run-time changable) number of sections, each which can be changed by the user?
I've tried constructing this by nesting JSplitPanes but the dragging behaviour is such that you have to decide the rightmost dividers position first, and then continue downward in the nesting hierachy. It would be much better if all sliders were equal and other sliders repositioned themselves as a result of dragging any one.
the non-programming-oriented explanation is that i'm trying to let the user divide a region of time up into proportions spent doing different activities - if theres a nicer way of doing this then i'd be v. happy to hear of it also :)
    thanks,
    asjf

ok, i've hacked up a quick bit of code that demonstrates vaguely what I'm after
this code is appalling, and the gui widget behaves wrongly but in the right ball park. If you imagine trying to divide up a horizontal slice into sections then you'll get the idea and see why it isn't really very helpfull..
you can click once on the vertical gray bars to start dragging, and click again to release

  • How to create a revolving website list, like this...

Hi there, Im new to flash, but the main reason I got it was so I could create an object to put on a webpage. I want to be able to create a revolving website list, with pictures of the sites in the list, like on the main page of this site:  http://www.tamberlow.com/
Please can somebody help me? Or point me in the right direction
    Thanks for your time,

that's a (not very well-done) carousel.  you can search for:  flash <your actionscript version> carousel.
most are horizontal but it's not much different to make one like the site you referenced.

  • How to make a long  horizontal bar absolutely level horizontal? (Or vertica

How can I ascertain that a long horizontal bar that I am placing on a page is absolutely horizontal and not at all tilting right or left? At this point I want the checking to be done with the Metric Inspector and the click toggles.
    Lorna in Southern California

How about if you select the line/object on your
    page
and then look in the Inspector Metrics tab.
YES! Look in the Metrics tab, not the Graphics tab.
    To Varkgirl and James:
Nonono! I was in Mr. Metric; I wasn't in Graphics. I saw the bottommost toggle and wrongly believed it to be a co-dependent of the Angle positioner. When I just now went back and got it to self-identify by placing the cursor on it, a definition of function showed up so I then did use the toggles to read "0."
So... logically and theoretically that horizontal bar of about an inch or so ought to be absolutely LEVEL at the top of the page, with 0 tilt, but for some reason that title bar appears to be tilted lower on the right. I checked the whole thing to see how and if it could be one of those visual illusions created by differing header sizes, perspective points, etc, but NO. No apparent reason for that title bar to appeat just slightly lopsided.
OK, since it is for a rock band, and since all the other graphics are tilted, I am going to stop spending time on it and pretend that it was meant to be not quite level. There. I've talked myself into it. Wow, that is NOT me at all.

  • How to create drilldown bar graph using clicklistener

    Hi,
I have a view object that sums some data and tags each sum accordingly - eg sum salary grouped by department name.
I display this using a horizontal bar graph.
I want to now be able to click on a bar and then have the details displayed in a table. I am led to believe from chapter 24 of the manual it is possible to do using no java coding (ie not having to create a bean etc).
You can use the row selection listener of a graph (which serves as a master view) to enable clicks on a bar, slice, or other graph data element to update the data in another ADF component (which serves as a detail view). For example, a click on a bar that represents sales for a given product in a graph might cause the display of the detailed sales data related to the product in a pivot table.
The following requirements must be met to achieve this master-detail processing declaratively:
    1. You must use the same tree data control to provide data for both views as follows:
    1. Bind the graph as a row set to one level in the data control.
    HOW ?
    2. Bind the other ADF view (such as a table or pivot table) to a lower level in the tree data control.
    I don't have a nested iterator - is it saying to use a master-detail scenario like dept/emp ?
    2.
Set a value for the clickListener attribute of the graph tag in the Behavior page of the Property Inspector and use the processClick method that is already part of the graph binding.
For example, if the value attribute of the graph tag is value="#{bindings.myGraph.graphModel}", then the clickListener attribute should be clickListener="#{bindings.myGraph.graphModel.processClick}".
    3. Ensure that the partialTriggers attribute on the parent tag for the detail component is set correctly. It should be set to the ID of the graph component.
You do not have to write Java code for handling clicks on data elements in the graph. The processClick event on the graph binding recognizes click events on data component in a graph and performs the necessary processing.
Are they suggesting all you need to do is ensure you have proper master-detail tables set up and it will automatically work ?
    cheers

    Hi Frank,
thanks for replying. I opened a TAR about this as I cannot produce a drilldown table. I created a VO with my summary - eg

Then I created a detail view object (from HR.employees) and added a calculated column :
    SELECT Employees.EMPLOYEE_ID,
    Employees.FIRST_NAME,
    Employees.LAST_NAME,
    Employees.EMAIL,
    Employees.PHONE_NUMBER,
    Employees.HIRE_DATE,
    Employees.JOB_ID,
    Employees.SALARY,
    Employees.COMMISSION_PCT,
    Employees.MANAGER_ID,
    Employees.DEPARTMENT_ID,
    decode(manager_id, 100, 'fred',
    123, 'bill', 120, 'kate', 121, 'julia', 147, 'ken', 108, 'james', 148, 'liz',
    149, 'phil', 205, 'jack', 102, 'eric', 'dominic') AS manager_name
    FROM EMPLOYEES Employees
I create a new viewlink which links on manager_name. When I run the bc4j appmodule I can see the correct master-detail relationship. IF I drag a master-detail table onto the page it works fine.
Now if I create a graph using the master and then create a table using the detail I can't get it to use this relationship even after setting the processClick() and the id for the graph set on the partial trigger of the table. Any ideas ?

  • Mac Mail and the Elusive Horizontal Bar / Separator Line

LIke so many people, I tried to devise the best way to insert a horizontal separator bar between messages in a multi-message thread. I refuse to insert a long string of dashes -- I want a solid black separator bar -- and I don't want to use a plugin either. So here's the best I can do at this point:
First, to set it up, open a blank Word document, type three dashes ("---"), hit the Return key (the dashes turn into a horizontal bar), copy the line above and below the resulting horizontal line (ie., to be sure you encapsulate the line within your selection), and then paste it into a new (empty) email.
If you do the same thing with the equal sign ("===") you end up with a DOUBLE line separator. You might as well copy that into your blank email too.
Then, simply save that new email in your DRAFT folder so you can easily access those lines quickly to copy/paste them in any other email.
This only seems to work when the horizontal line is black. You can change the line in Word to any color (using the Borders and Shading tab in the Format Pallette) but then when you paste it into a Mail, the line is invisible, so just use a black line.
    Just fyi.

    Simple solution--very simple
Open up MS word (or Pages alternative) and create a horizontal line by  holding down the "shift" key and then holding down the "_" key to make the line as long as you want
Copy this line into your clipboard
    Open Automator
Go to Automator | Services | Services Preferences | and click the "Text" button across the top
Type the two letters "ln" in the "Replace" column and the paste the _______________________________ you created and copied in the "With" Column
Every time you type the letters ln into your email, it gives you the option of replacing the letters ln with a line if you simply hit return
Hope that helps--I was Googling the solution--and came up with that....
