Create Information Space (BO Explorer) on SAP BW Query

Hi experts,
I try the following, but it doesn't work.
I build a universe on a SAP BW query. Then I export the universe to access with BO Explorer and create an information space. The information space exist of two characters and one keyfigure. When I start my query in BEx Analyzer I get some hundreds of results. But when I explore the information space in BO Explorer I get only one result, like I get one result in transaction list cube without selecting a character. It aggregates the whole datasets into one.
But what is the error, because I'd like to explorer through the data in information space? Is there a special way to design the universe or to set up the information space?
Thanks in advance.
Greets Nico

Hey,
here it is. I proudly presents the solution.
Just use the right object in the OLAP universe. The universe designer creates the object L00 and L01 for each character. The right way is to use the L01 object. Here you have the possibility to the select the values. Otherwise, if you use L00 object you only have the aggregation of the character.
I read it once in the manuals but didn't checked it.

  • Unable to access information spaces and Exploration View Sets

I have run into a problem.   we had a Business intelligence server setup as a proof of concept for analyzing data.  This was done by a 3rd party company and we no longer can use them as a resource.
Originally we were unable to view the information spaces and exploration views, unless the user is part of the administrators group.   I have been attempting to have a view only group created that would allow access.
now i am getting the following error when trying to open an explorer view set (The view sets show in a list).
Failed to open the exploration view set
Can't load the information space. (PS 50300)
Failed to retrieve the exploration space 'cb06755b-7fab-4a21-b1ba-a41389bd5f59'.
This happens with all accounts.   Administrators group, built in administrator account and the everybody group.
We are using AD Authentication only on this server.
does anyone know what might have happened to remove access to the information spaces?

I can't seem to find where this workspace lives.
I am very new to Business Intelligence  (3 Months)
I went to manage spaces in Explorer but there isn't anything there that points to the reports that i need to index.
here is what i am trying to have show.

  • How to remove Decimals in Quantity Objects in SAP BO Explorer View created on top SAP Bex Query?

    Hi,
I created SAP BO Explorer report on top of SAP BEx Query.
In SAP BEx Query, Decimals were hided but when i created OLAP Universe on top that SAP BEx Query and Created Index on top of Information Space in SAP BO Explorer and then created Exploration Views. But i'm getting Decimals in my Exploration Views where as SAP BEx Query in RSRT, no decimals were appearing.
Can anyone suggest me how to remove decimals in SAP BO Exploration Views.

    Hi Ramana,
I am not use how you connect to SAP BEx query (Via universe or BWA or HANA)
What I could say is BWA and HANA, you cannot adjust this
For universe, you could try in universe layer, there is note about this
For BWA and HANA, this function might be enhanced but you 'd better raise OSS to SAP to check with them
    Best regards

  • Explorer error "Failed to retrieve the Information Spaces list." from HANA

I am getting this dumb error "Failed to retrieve the Information Spaces list. // Request timed out" in Explorer's "Manage Spaces" area every time I click on the analytic view listed under my HANA sources of the Explorer. So, my HANA source is visible, and analytic views are visible in Explorer as well, but I cannot get any Information Space created because of the error, and I could not find the error and its causes in Explorer docs.
    I already
    - upgraded HANA db to Rev 18 (for some reasons I cannot u[grade this system to SPS3 yet) and BIP and Explorer 4.0 are on the latest Patch 8 of SP2.
    - configured connection using IDT defined connection,
    - restarted servers in CMS already 100s of times.
There is enough free space on the BO server's drive: 33GB. BO is a single server based on Win2008 R2 SP1 with 40GB RAM.
Any ideas what else I can do to get rid of this issue? It is a test server, so I cannot open customer msg to SAP Support.
    Thanks,
    -Vitaliy

    Try increasing the timeout under
    ..\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\explorer\WEB-INF\classes\ default.settings.properties
    from
    request.timeout=60
    to
    request.timeout=600

  • Business Objects Explorer Information Space Home Screen Customization

Is it possible to customize the display of the list of Information Spaces on the Home screen of Business Objects Explorer such as to sort ascending or descending?  Now it's shown as the order when they were created.

Thanks for your response.  I'm looking for a way to make a setting change so when the home screen is displayed, the list of Information Spaces will be sorted without the user having to click it  Also, is there a way to change some of the default setting of top 10, etc.

  • Organize BO Explorer Information Spaces in folders

    Hello,
Is it possible to organize information spaces in the BO Explorer? Currently all the Information Spaces are appearing in the home page. Is it possible to group/organize them into folders? We are on XI 3.1
    Thanks
    krishna

    Hi,
Grouping Information Spaces in the home page is not possible in 3.x and 4.0.x versions.
And currently it is not planned for 4.1 version.

  • Alias names for dimensions in BO 4.0 Explorer (Information Space)

    Hello,
I have a requirement to add 15 dimensions and 2 measures in an information space. Each dimension has alias names. Example, buyer is a dimension which can be also be called purchasing group, Pgroup, Employee etc. I know it is possible to rename the dimensions. But is there any way to assign alias names to dimensions either in the universe or in information space? So when a user types Pgroup and hits the search button in explorer, he/she should find a match in the information space where buyer is a dimension.
Also, is there any limit in adding dimensions to an information space? Can I add upto 15 dimensions?
    Appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks,
    Ann

    Hi there
In the Universe, you can have objects with a different name that point to the same database table/field name. From your example below, you could have both the Purchasing Group and Employee dimension pointing to the same database table.field. You should be able to add 15 (and more) dimensions to your Information Workspace-- I haven't seen any documentation on the maximum number of dimensions out there.
Just keep in mind that as you add more dimensions/facets, users may get a scroll bar and will need to scroll across to see then.
    Hope this helps!

  • Exporting visualizations from Lumira to Explorer Information Spaces

When I export a visualization from Lumira to an Explorer Information Space, does it export data to the BO server as well? That is, can I then use that Explorer Information Space without needing either the Lumira Cloud or a Lumira HANA server at the backend?

A possible use case is that you manipulate data in Lumira and want to expose that to others via Mobile BI (Explorer works very well with Mobile); You could also do this in Lumira Cloud
It used to be Explorer was the path to Mobile BI but that sort of changed when Lumira Cloud came out.

  • PS 50301 error - No Registered Index Version for Information Space

    Hi there,
I'm facing an issue with the "SAP Explorer Information Space". When I try to open the Information Space, it opens fine but when its about to load, an error message appears.  "It is not possible to open Information Space. Can't load the Information Space Index. (PS 50301)"
When I click "Show Details", it displays:
"No registered index version for information space"
I'm seeing this error message after updating BO 4.0 SP4 to BO 4.0 SP6.
I did try to index the information space but it fails.
So basically the question is why did this update from BO 4.0 SP4 to BO 4.0 SP6 impact the Explorer Information Space?
    Environment details:
    BO 4.0 SP6 on Windows 2008 Server using Oracle 10g as back-end.
Front End: using Windows 7, Mozilla Firefox, Internet explorer.
    Error Message:
Explorer Indexing Error after I tried to Index this:

The way this was solved was, I created 4 new explorer services in CMC.
    1- Explorer Exploration Server
    2- Explorer Indexing Server
    3- Explorer Master Server
    4- Explorer Search Server
After creating the new ones and running them, I deleted the old ones. Then I Indexed the Information Space and everything seemed fine.

      IE 11, Firefox  31

Now if i just add the two information spaces in the promotion management and go to manage dependencies. Only one of them have dependencies and not the other. How can i find all the dependencies of my two information spaces.
    Thanks a lot,
