Hi buddy,
Do follow the following steps to create a WD Page in the PCD.
1. Logon to the portal with a user have content administration privileges.
2. Browse to Portal Content. Expand the node named "Web Dynpro Applications".
3. Browse the expanded node until you find your WD application.
4. Right click the application and select the option Copy.
5. Now browse to the project folder where you want to create the iview under the node Portal Content.
6. Right click the folder and select the option Paste as PCD Object.
7. Give the appropriate name and id and click next.
8. Click Finish to complete the process.
9. Open the newly created object and preview to see your work.
Hope this helps,

  • Has anybody created Iview from "Webdynpro Java" component in CE7.1 ?

    Hi All,
Has anyone created Iview from Webdynpro Java component in CE7.1.
Because the wizard that appears for creation of Iview has only "Webdynpro ABAP"
component. There is no option to create iview from "Webdynpro Java" component.
Althought in portal content--->Template folder i can see there is also
another template for "SAP Webdynpro iview" which i think is for the Java scenario.
But issue is, its not coming in the wizard. Can anyone tell me how to make it appear in the wizard ? It will be of great help to me.
    Thanks and Regards
    Ashis

    Hi Ashis,
your deployed webdynpros are published under "web dynpro applications". just copy the webdynpro from there and paste it into the portal content section.

  • Create iview for db

    Hello,
Im very new in EP, I need to create iviews for accesing and retrieving data from an oracle and MS SQL Server database. Im using EP version 7.0, maybe you could guide me with this topic or give me some ideas about how to implement that. If you have some documentation about this topic would be welcome as well.
    Thanks in advanced!
    Luis

    Hi Luis,
If you're into java you can use Web Dynpro (jdbc).
If you are used to ASP, try PDK.NET
Each of them has its own forum and you can look for
    examples.

  • IView for webdynpro components

    Hi All,
I have an application with multiple components.Right now I am able to create an iview at the application level but I want to create IViews for each of these specific components can someone kindly suggest me a way.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Divya

    Hi Divya
You said you are creating iviews in portal for each component. Create a portal service and access the portal service in each component. As a example
If comp1 needs to pass a value to comp2 then from comp1 access the portal service and store it there and from comp2 retrieve the value from the portal service

  • Create iView for Web Dynpro Application

    Hi guys,
I've created a Web Dynpro Application via NWDI and deployed to the j2ee server. Now, I'm trying to create an iView to link to that application. The steps I've done are:
    1. Create iView for Web Dynpro Application
    2. Select "Create iView from each application View"
    3. Select my application.
That's when the error occurs at step 3. I select my application and click next, but an error msg keeps appearing telling me to "To continue, select at least one application" despite having already done so. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Thanks!
    ZHenmin

    Hi,
First make sure the applications runs fine standalone. Also the versions for WAS and EP are maintained correctly. Actually, this error seems to be occur for many users. Check this thread too.
Open new Web Dynpro iView in EP7
If nothing works, restart the server and try creating the iView again.

  • Creating iView for BI queries and system

    Dear All
I need your help in dealing with three challenges that i'm currently facing while trying to integrate BW into Portal.
    <b>
    Challenge 1:</b>
I am trying to create an iView for BI queries but it is giving the following exception
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
Could not find portal application com.sap.ip.bi.base.application.
    Exception id: 04:32_26/06/07_0010_18800950
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
Can anyone help me in understanding what is it and how to resolve it?
Not able to infer anything from logfile.
System i created for connecting BW is OK for the connector test but fails for ITS and Web AS.
    <b>Challenge 2:</b>
Is it necessary to for a system to pass all the tests (Web AS, ITS and Connector)?
Systems that i create almost never pass Web As and ITS test
    SAP Web AS Connection
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Check the validity of the system ID in the system object
    2. Check whether the system can be retrieved
    3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
    4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
    5. Check HTTP/S connectivity to the defined backend application
      Results
    1. The system ID is valid
    2. Retrieval of the system was successful
    3. The system object represents an SAP system
    4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (eimreymdd0.eimskip.net:8001)
    5. HTTP/S connection failed
    ITS Connection
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Check the validity of the system ID in the system object
    2. Check whether the system can be retrieved
    3. Check whether the system object has a valid system alias
    4. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
    5. Validate the following parameters: ITS protocol; ITS host name
    6. Check the validity of any user mapping in the system object
    7. Check HTTP/S connectivity to the defined backend application
      Results
    1. The system ID is valid
    2. Retrieval of the system was successful
    3. Retrieval of the default alias was successful
    4. The system object represents an SAP system
    5. Some of the following parameters are invalid: ITS Protocol () ITS Host Name ()
    <b>Challenge 3:</b>
Out of the two versions (SAP BW 2.x/3.x and SAP NetWeaver BI)available in the portal to create Bex iView which one do we have to use?
I'm working on EP 7 and BW 7.

    Hi,
If you are using BI 7 and EP 7, then you have to run either the post installation template from http://<host>:<port>/nwa ( Refer to Note 895736 - Configuration template for BI-JAVA usage type ) or Run program RSPOR_SETUP in BI.
I would suggest you to run BI configuration template from nwa alias.
To execute basic steps for automatically configuring the BI Java usage type for integration to the portal, proceed as follows:
    1. Call the template installer by choosing quick link /nwa: <PORTAL_PROTOCOL>://<PORTAL_SERVER>:<PORTAL_PORT>/nwa
    2. Under scenario, select BI Java.
    3. Choose the BIPostInstallProcess template. Under Template, the individual steps that are executed by this template are also provided.
    4. Choose Execute Template.
    5. Adjust the default values under Data Entry. Note the following with respect to the input values:
    ABAP:
ABAP_ADMIN and ABAP_PASSWORD are used for the RFC connection during installation
BACKEND_SYSTEM, BACKEND_SYSNUMBER, and BACKEND_CLIENT specify the BI system (AS ABAP)
BACKEND_HTTP_PORT can be determined using function module RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET (or using the report)
BACKEND_SID is the system ID for the BI system
    JAVA:
J2EE HOST and J2EE SID specify the J2EE Engine (AS Java)
J2EE HTTP PORT is the HTTP port of the J2EE Engine and has the numbering convention 5<J2EE_SYSNUMBER>00 (for example, 51000 for the system number 10)
P4PORT is the TCP/IP port of the Visual Administrator and can be calculated using <J2EE_HTTP_PORT>+4 (for example, 51004)
    6. Choose Install.
    Note:
You should only perform template-based configuration if the system has not been configured.
    Cheers!!
