Create link to Internet Explorer in Fusion VM from Keynote 09 presentation?

I've created a slideshow in Keynote 09 (downloaded the 30-day demo just to try it out). Keynote allows a presentation to link to other media, other slideshows, a new email message, and a web page (in your default browser).
My presentation is a discussion of HIPAA-related security issues. I hoped to link to my dialysis company's EMR (which runs only in IE under Windows). I can get there by command-tab from the Mac keyboard, but I thought it would be neat to do it using a link within the program itself. I don't think it's possible, however. Is this something that could be made more seamless using AppleScript or Automator?

Such a simple solution: I don't know how I managed to miss seeing that option in the document inspector!. I feared this wasn't going to be possible. I'm so glad I didn't have to spend hours redesigning my presentation. Like you suggested, all I had to do was a bit of resizing and repositioning to finish it off; and I also had to remove unwanted placeholder text boxes on each slide. Great! Thank you so much!

  • Adobe is not opening when clicking on a link in Internet Explorer

We are using pdf format is order to give our clients detailled information about their accounts.
Unfortunately, when the client clicks on our link in Internet Explorer, our client receives an error message of adobe (needs to be c
losed, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience).
If the client opens up his adobe first, then he can open his file while clicking on the link.
According to us, this must be an error between Internet Explorer and Adobe.
Another thing is, that when the clients logs in as administrator of the computer, it works. If the client is not the administrator a
nd is in another session, it is not working. We already have created a new session of Windows too.
We already installed the latest version of Acrobat Reader and the latest version of IE7. Unfortunately, without any results.
Can you please give us a solution?

I have identified the cause of this problem. Spybot S &D 2 Beta was installed on this machine, and it was the culprit. I have informed the vendor, and replaced it with production version 162 of Spybot S &D. The problem is no longer present.

  • PDF Links within Internet Explorer

None of my "external" PDF links work when I view PDFs within Internet Explorer. I am running Acrobat 9.3 and IE 8, any ideas why this could be occuring? The links work fine when viewing the PDF within Acrobat.
    Thanks!
    R. Sloan

Thanks for the replies.  These are relative links that point to different PDFs within the same folder as the PDF I am viewing.  When I mouse over the link, i see the finger icon as expected, however when I click on the link nothing happens (no error message).
I created the links using the Acrobat linking tool by selecting the "Goto View" option.
I am using IE 8.0.6001 and Acrobat 9.0.0.

  • External PDF links in Internet Explorer - PDF/A issue?

    Hi,
I am having an issue with certain links within PDFs not working when the PDF is being viewed with IE.  I have created external PDF links using the Go to a Page View linking feature within Acrobat and then opening an external PDF file and setting the link.  The extrernal links work fine when viewing the PDFs within Acrobat, however when I view the PDFs within IE the external links do not work.  I am running Acrobat 9.3 and IE 8.
I know there is an issue with PDF/A disabling external PDF links, is it possible that IE always displays PDFs in PDF/A mode, even though I have set PDF/A View Mode to never within Acrobat?  Also, I do not remember this being an issue in earlier releases of Acrobat 9, however I am supporting a large group of people that have already updated to Acrobat 9.3 and would hate to have to roll them back. Any ideas as to a possible solution would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • First direct link in google search causes "Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading"

I've disabled both the Adobe Reader Add-on and the Adobe PDF Link Helper to force IE 8 to open PDF's outside of the browser i.e in the stand alone reader application.
After doing this I did some testing, a google search for "test pdf" produces numerous direct links to pdf files.  If i click any of them it causes IE to display the message bar "Internet Explorer blocked this from downloading files to your computer, click her for options.."  When I click on the message bar, it appears to download the file , then nothing happens.  Next time I click the link it opens in the stand alone reader just fine and so do all PDF files, until the browser is restarted or a new tab is started.
This only seems to happen in IE8.  IE9 doesn't have the problem.
If I open a web page that has a link to a PDF that always work.
Help? I can't roll this out to prod.  Users will get very confused...

You actually trashed the whole Internet Preferences Folder including all your preferences still in there?
Actually, you were suppose to just trash the Internet Preference file/document which is inside the folder.
See if updating to the latest & last version of IE for Mac will help.
    Internet Explorer (Classic) 5.1.7
    Internet Explorer 5.1.7
    Internet Explorer v5.1.7
"WARNING:" Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer for Mac on December 31st, 2005, and is not providing any further security or performance updates.
Accordingly, as of January 31st, 2006, Internet Explorer for the Mac is no longer available for download from Microsoft.
Or, you can try the following w/your older version of IE:
Once a week Go into the system folder>preferences folder & trash the following preferences:
    finder
    ASLM
    PPC Registration Database
Cache.waf-found inside the MS Internet Cache folder
MRJ Cache folder-a new one will be recreated.(If not found go to System folder>Application Support>MRJ Cache folder-trash all you find inside-(DO NOT TRASH THIS FOLDER)
    Download Cache-found inside Explorer Folder
    Downloads.html-found inside Explorer Folder
    History.html-found inside Explorer Folder
Rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Use Techtool Lite or Trash*Desktop - may delete Finder comments to rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Does a better job than manually & you avoid all the finger gymnatics. You just have to hold down the shift key to shut off extensions.
Restart to turn the extensions back on again & empty the trash.
    Good luck!

  • Mail now opens links with Internet Explorer

Today, clicking on a link in Mail opens the address with Internet Explorer. Before, it was Safari. I have no idea how or why this got changed! How do I get the old (Safari) behavior back??

you have Internet Explorer in Leopard? I thought it was no longer supported.
you can set the default browser to safari in safari preferences->general. that should do it.

  • I cannot open PDF links in Firefox. However, I can open those same links with Internet Explorer. This failure has happened since downloading FF 4.0. What did that "upgrade" change so that these PDF links do not open?

I use TD Waterhouse Webbroker, which has links to PDF documents. These links have always opened - that is until I "upgraded" to the latest Firefox version (I think it's 4.0). Now those same PDFs do not open. I cross-checked with the arch enemy, Internet Explorer. Those same PDFs opened in Internet Explorer. So Firefox, what did you do in the latest "upgrade" that has altered the way the browser handles PDF files on Webbroker??

Hi tlaclair, when I click that link, here is what I see (observed using the Fiddler2 program, which intercepts web traffic between your browser and websites):
    (1) The server at link.p0.com sets 1 cookie and redirects to http://t.mookie1.com/t/v1/event?migClientId=181&migAction=email-click&migSource=mig&migDest=http%3a%2f%2forder.dominos.com
    (2) Firefox follows the redirect and the server at t.mookie1.com sets 3 cookies and redirects to http://order.dominos.com
    (3) Firefox follows the redirect and the server at order.dominos.com redirects to a secure session ([https://order.dominos.com/])
These kinds of redirects are completely standard; if you set Firefox to warn you about redirects, then a bar usually appear below the address where you can click an Allow button to continue. You can check whether you have this feature turned on here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > General
If Firefox isn't blocking the redirect, it's possible that one of your add-ons is doing it. A standard diagnostic for interference by add-ons is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
If the link works correctly, this points to one of your add-ons or custom settings as the problem.
    Any change?

  • Outlook keeps opening links in Internet Explorer, regardless of Firefox being the default browser

I have Firefox 4.0.1 running on a Windows 7, 64-bit computer. I have Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 installed as well.
I use Outlook here at work and have Outlook version 14.0.5128.5000 installed, which is part of Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010.
I have tried to set Firefox as the default browser on the computer. When I go to Start->Default programs, Firefox is set to default. When I open Firefox and check in settings, it says it is currently the default browser. I have tried to set IE as the default, then switch back to Firefox etc. But still regardless of this, Outlook opens all links in emails in Internet Explorer.
It is very annoying as IE is a lot slower than Firefox, especially when I already have Firefox runnint and Outlook needs to start a new session of IE every time I open a link.
Does anyone know how I can force Outlook to open links in Firefox when Firefox is already the default browser on the computer but Outlook still opens links in IE?

I have the same problem (roughly) - I have PDF hyperlinks in an Excel spreadsheet and, when clicked, instead of them opening directly in Acrobat (or via Firefox, my default browser), they open via IE. Regular HTML links in the Excel spreadsheet open in Firefox.
I have enabled the '''Block PDF files' access to all web sites''' option under ''Trust Manager'' category in the Adobe Reader ''Preferences'' tab.
I have also disabled the '''Adobe PDF Link Helper''' Extension in the ''Manage Add-ons'' tab in IE.
Obviously, neither of these settings made any difference.

  • Library Item Creates gap in Internet Explorer

I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem.
A library item which is basically serving as a navigation bar is

  • Link to BEx Explorer 3.5 report from portal

    Hi Experts!
We are running nw2004s with a 7.0 portal and a lot of 3.5 excel based reports to be migrated into new webtemplates eventually. Until then, the customer would like us to make links in the portal that would open up the 3.5 BEx Explorer and execute a certain report.
Does anyone know if this is possible - and how it can be done? It would have to work in a way where the user is automatically logged onto the BEx Explorer - only I'm not sure if this is possible at all. Antoher challenge seems to be that I do not want to include any input values for the variant for a particular report, I want the selection screen to pop-up after having opened the link from the portal. If I try Broadcasting via the BEx Broadcaster - I have to put in values for the selection.
Is the RRMX as an iview working properly - does anyone know? And if you already have another workbook or query open - what will happen then?
    Any input is highly appreciated.

There are times when the Toshiba site has issues also, if it is the Toshiba site try back later.
