Create Masters out of Previews?

Hello,
I have been using Aperture since it's launch. Unfortuantely, my libraries got very disorganized over the years...
While trying to sort it all out I realized that there are many pictures that are trying to connect to reference files that no longer exist...
Is there a way to create new masters from the previews? I'm guessing they would be significantly less in quality, but at least I'd have them. They are my son's infant pictures and are very important. Any ideas?
I have thoroiughly searched my drives for the originals, they are gone...

You could drag the previews to the desktop which would create JPEG files on the desktop the size of the previews.
I would not drag them - that will corrupt your Aperture Library. Copy them to the Desktop.
After reimporting them into the Aperture library you can use the "Lift &Stamp" tool to transfer all your keywords, captions, and other metadata tags from the previous high-resolution versions to the newly imported previews. Then you can delete the older versions from the library.
I have thoroiughly searched my drives for the originals, they are gone...
Are you sure, you have searched everywhere? If you use the command "Locate referenced files", then it will tell you exactly, where it expects the missing original to be - the pathname to the missing image file will be shown below the thumbnail in the upper right corner of the "Referenced Files" panel.

[SOLVED] Wanted: extract pdf annotations created in Mac OSX preview

I just had a collegue return a pdf marked up with "annotations".
I first struggled with finding a viewer that views the annotations, and those that could (evince, okular) all have more dependencies that I'd want/need.
I decided there must be an lighter weight way to extract the text of annotations from pdfs. I searched, read, and learned about pdf annotation formats and I figured out how to extract adobe annotations from a pdf. Only then did I realize that my collegue didn't use adobe. The annotations were created in Mac OSX's preview. Preview, it would seem, does not use the adobe xfpdf format for annotations, it uses some other means to embed the annotations.
I searched the pdf file in text and hex editors, but I couldn't find anything resembling what I knew to be in some of the annotations. However Preview does it, the text must be encoded and unreadable in the "raw" file. This is in contrast, it would seem, with adobe's annotations.
My question, then, is two-fold. First, are there any text-annotation extractor tools that can get notes created in OSX's preview? If not, does anyone know of any documentation outlining how Preview embeds this information? I've been googling the latter question, but I'll I'm getting is "where-to-click" level tutorials on how to DO annotations in Preview. I can't find any documentation of how that information is embeded into the file.
Note: evince does get the text of the annotations, but I'd prefer not to keep that installed. Evince-gtk is only every so slightly lighter on dependencies. Also, in evince I get flooded with "sticky notes" with all the annotation text. It would take a while to move those around and close them one at a time to be able to actually read them. I'm hoping to be able to extract all annotation text and dump it into a text file.

Holy crap, it works. A couple hours of reading ugly docs and 32 lines of code later, I have exactly what I was looking for.
I'd love it if some volunteers would try this out, beat it up, and see what breaks first so I can improve it. After a little polishing I might put it up in the AUR.

Copy files out of Preview

With 10.3 and Preview 2.1.1, one could open a folder of photos and drop copies directly out of Preview into a new folder by altclickdrag to the folder. This seems to have gotten broken with the change to 10.4. It works fine on my iBook, but the G5 iMac doesn't want to do it. Sure was nice to preview the group and pick the ones out you wanted to take to the store to print...does anybody know what happened to this timesaver?

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters
create a new DWORD
DirectoryCacheLifetime set to 0
reboot and test
if that doesn’t work remove the DWORD and install hotfix here, and reboot..

Acrobat out put preview feature

I want to write a PDF plug-in application which needs to show the all colors available in the PDF document. This is exactly similar
to the out put preview feature available in the Acrobat. Please let me know how this could be achieved, I belive I can import some
HFT functions from the Output priview plug-in into my application. In this case which functions are available for import and how they

IF you plan to have this plugin work in Reader – you first need to get permission/approval from Adobe. (for Acrobat, however, you need no such permission).
You can put up your own window from the plugin in any way you want – folks have used native APIs (aka MFC & Cocoa) as well as cross platform ones (eg. wxWidgets). There are samples of each in the SDK.

Here my actual question comes, what is the need of creating the Job. when we can create position without job in general Scenario.
Is it compulsory to create job whenever we create position.

I definitely aggree with what guru Sikindar mentions.
One more point:
SAP advises to create separate positions for each of the employees in your organizational structure.
For example, there may be a hundred "Engineer" positions in your company (with codes: 50000001, 50000002, ... 50000100).
At this point, when you're asked to take a report of all of the "Engineer"s in your company, then you need to enter all these position codes into the selection screen : Nearly impossible scenario!
However, if you had linked all of these positions to a single job named "Engineer" and numbered "50000000", then you would be able to find all the positions linked to this job and all the employees holding these positions by entering a single object ID and evaluation path in the selection screen of a particular report.

If you want auto generated number then as sugeested in the above post you have to go for Key Generation.
In Console where you define remote system ,there you have to make keygeneration Yes and specify the start and end limit in from and to.
Now whenever a record is created and syndicated to this particular remotye system for which key generation is set ,system will assign a autogenerated number.
Without syndication number will not be generated.
And if you want to maintain different number ranges for different lookup values then go for qualified number range.
Or if you simple want auto generated number starting from 1 to maintain count of records in MDM then maintain a field with type autoid.

I am going on vacation and would like to create an automatic response saying I'll be out of the office.

1) Create a "Out of Office" message and save as a template.
2) Create a message filter. Tools>Message Filter
3) Select New then enter a "Name of Filter.
4) Match all of the following
5) Date - is before - 8-1-2014
6) Reply with Template - " Name of Filter"
7) Leave Thunderbird open and running.
8) Out of Office message that was saved as a template will be used to reply to all mail received till 8-1-2014

I created an STO for material, when i have done the VL10B i got a message "See log for information about creating deliveries"
A Delivery got created with out the Material number, When i look in the Document Flow for the Delivery Created its preceding document (PO) is not linked
In the log information i see an error, Please advise
Diagnosis
The sales unit is not allowed for the material in item
    000001.
System Response
The system does not allow further processing of this item.
Procedure
Check your entry.
    Select a sales unit which is defined for the material in the
    material master record. Normally the sales unit will be
    determined immediately from the master master record.

see the change log of material master in MM04.
check if the sales unit got removed recently (after the PO creation - before delivery creation)
if it is not caused by material master directly, then check if you have any userexit in place that changes the sales unit in the delivery.
SAP has a sales unit in mind which is not available in material master, hence it issues this error.

Flash Newbie, Need Help From Flash Masters Out There

I am not a flash master but i think the problem can be solved
. Try putting a stop on the last frame of your 1st scene, put a
button on that that frame and give an action to jump to the next
scene, frame 1.

You can't, but if you create a signature on another Mac with a built-in camera, or an Apple display with a camera, you can move the signature to the mini.

How to create Reports out of Individual Views from Discoverer

Hi Gurus,
I am doing a a POC where i need to bring in couple of views which are reports in Discoverer inside OBIEE 11g and create reports out of it.
In OBIEE i dont need to join anything as these are standalone views i just need to use them to create individual reports. But it seems in OBIEE you cannot do that, you will need to join and create keys in each and every tables(which are views in the DB).
Is there any way i can import the views from DB or create the views in OBIEE 11g and use them to create reports.

Simple way to create a pdf print preview in icwc

Hello gurus,
I have this customer task, to create a print preview for icwc. I checked note 1323062, but I´m working with version 5.0, so it can´t be used. I checked also note 896953, but this more to a error related. Checked also 616762, but the note is high level in details. Does not explain how to redirect the output of the processing to the icwc (step 5).
So in this way, I´d like to be advised from you folks, how to do it.
