Create multiple grid in a worksheet

my smartivew version is 11.1.2.2, this relase should support to create multiple grid in a worksheet.
but when i try to add the second grid, i only see the 3 options:
"clear sheet contents and POV"
"Reuse sheet contents only"
"Reuse sheet contents and POV"
not able to see the fourth option.
i do have selected multiple cells.
where am i wrong?

I am creating a website using FGL in DW CS6, v12.0 build 5808. I do not have Creative Cloud (do you have to pay to use this service?).
I have created one layout for my home page.
I would like to create several more pages, but I want them to use different layouts (as well as different content).
I tried to do something similar before using 'save as' (this was with a non-FGL), but whenever I changed the original page that I had 'save as'd' from, the layout in all the other pages would change too!

I'm a bit scared of breaking everything, as I am new to web design and have had to restart the whole process a few times due to messing up the fluid.css etc and other issues, so I am taking baby steps.

I tried using different IDs for the other pages, but eventually one of the divs seems to 'break' - it overlaps other divs, or cannot be moved or resized (you can select the outline and it goes blue, but no 'move up a row' or down a row or 'lock to grid' etc icons appear and it can't be drag-re-sized), plus the green overlay disappears (just from that div. I'm aware of how to turn visual aids on and off), so it seems broken. This often seems to happen if you rename a div once it's been created; it does not rename in the layout.css on the right side panel (CSS Styles) in DW and the 'broken' behaviour above is exhibited. Do you know anything about this? Is this the 'edit this doc at your peril' stuff that most tutorials seem to mention? Am I doing something wrong?
I also tried making an FGL and saving out the original boilerplate.css, layout.css and respond.js. Then created multiple new FGLs and each time it created new versions of layout.css (called 'untitled-1', 2 etc.). Once I had created all the FGLs, I deleted all the new boilerplates and untitled.css files. Then restored the original ones and changed the link at the top of each page's html to refer to the same filename (the original layout.css), rather than untitled.css. I thought this might work and it seemed to for a while, but then as I had to add new div names for the sections on each page, it eventually broke (as above).
Anyway, I think you have a good point about different layouts and it occurred to me also while I was exploring and waiting for replies here. I think I will make one layout for all pages and go with that. I have a couple of questions about that though:
1. I think the max number of divs I want for one of the pages is 10, but some pages need less divs. If I only fill e.g. 8 divs on one page, will the other ones be sat there empty? I think they will actually...I guess I'm asking because I have not tried it yet (will do after this) and it takes so long to do this trial and error.
2. If the amount of content in each div is different, e.g. let's say Page 1 has 6 lines of content in div1, but page 2 may have an unlimited amount of content (I will want to add to it in the future). Will this result in the div on page 1 being a huge block of empty space after its 6 lines?

Look at POI at http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/ for an open source library to write Excel with Java.
If you just want to produce a one-off, you can save an Excel workbook as XML and look at that to see how the sheets are produced in XML.
There are also commercial products like Formula One that provide support for reading and writing directly to/from Excel from Java.

How do I create multiple sheets in an xls workbook email attachment?

I've been looking at report BCS_EXAMPLE_7 to see how to attach an excel document to an email but I don't see how to create an excel workbook with multiple worksheets. The example creates one workbook with one worksheet. I'd like to have multiple worksheets in the workbook (one for each time bucket in the report).
I'm guessing I need to insert something into the binary_content but I need some help finding where to start.

Acrobat 9 Pro - Batch Create Multiple Files from InDesign CS5 files

When attempting to batch create PDFs from Indesign CS5 files using Acrobat Pro 9's File>Create PDF>Batch Create Multiple Files ... option the operation fails with the error 'Could not find the application that created this file: [path to file] Please select a file created by an application that resides on your computer.' as shown in the screenshot below:
Acrobat 9 Professional was bundled with Creative Suite 5 Design Standard so shouldn't this work? My machine is running OS X 10.6.7, Acrobat Pro 9.44 and InDesign CS5 7.04.
Any help to solve this issue would be most gratefully received - this feature had previously saved me a lot of time on my old machine with 10.5.8, Acrobat Pro 9 and CS4.

Combine functionality Batch Create Multiple files and Set Security

Greetings,
Is there any way to combine the functionality of Acrobat Pro’s “Batch Create Multiple Files” (File (drop down) -> Create PDF -> Batch Create Multiple Files…) and running a batch process (Advanced -> Document Processing -> Batch Processing -> Batch Sequences -> Set Security)?
Ideally I’d like to either:
1) Add the “Set Security” batch process to the “Batch Create Multiple Files … command located under the File (drop down) -> Create PDF
or
2) Be able to create a batch process that first allows me to select the documents (Word, Excel, etc.) I want to convert into PDF files, then converts them, then runs the Set Security batch process.
Right now it isn’t too much trouble to first “Create Multiple Files…” then run the batch process Set Security, but it would be nice to be able to do both with a single command.
Any suggestions?

Batch create Multiple files in Acrobat X and X1 cannot convert Word 2010 with graphics

I work for an exams board where hundreds of exam papers are produced. Once approved, these exams are converted to PDF and sent to print. Using the Batch Create Multiple Files option is therefore essential to getting these papers print ready on time. We have found that using this function to convert multiple Word 2010 files with graphics will not render it properly. It deconstructs the graphics which loses the integrity of the exam paper.
I have trialled the same group of files on Acrobat X1 with the same result.
Have other Acrobat Pro Users experienced the same problem? Is there a fix?

Unable to create multiple transport target groups in SLD

We have multiple R/3 QA systems but just 1 XI QA system and we need to test interfaces with all R/3 QA client at the same time. My XI development team has asked to explore whether its possible to create multiple target systems.
Currenlty R3_dev has R3_QA1 as target business system, we would like to add R3_QA2 as target system for R3_dev.
There is a "add/change" option in Transport tab and there is a grid which seems to imply that multilple entries are possible.
I have added R3_QA2 to the Group "Qa_Bus_Group" and was able to replace
R3_QA1 with R3_QA2 however I was unable to create multiple target systems.
I was wondering if anyone ran into this issue and any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

           You can create multiple target systems only for different business system groups.If all the business systems like R3_QA1,R3_QA2, R3_QA3 belong to the same business group "QA_BUS_GROUP" , then you can have only one among the three system as target.
           So R3_DEV can have only one system as target either R3_QA1 Or R3_QA2 or R3_QA3 since they belong to the same business group "QA_BUS_GROUP".
            If there are three different business system groups then you can have 3 target systems that correspond to their respective business system groups ,in this case source business system can be assigned to the 3 target systems that belong to different business system groups .
           Since that is not the case with your scenario, you cannot create multiple target systems.

Batch create multiple files in a script

I have 130,000 gif files I want to convert to pdf. I can only batch convert about 1,500 at a time, acrobat will bomb out if I do more. Is there a script I can use to process all my files ?

Hello,
I am trying to create a Java application that will represent a simple paper timesheet for multiple jobs. I am trying to keep it as close as possible to an actual timesheet that I already have to fill out weekly.
I will try to describe the sheet.
Each day has a grid that's basically 4 x 24. There is a grid for each 15 minute block in the day. And each row accounts for 1/4 of the day or 6 hours. Then there are 7 groups, one for each day.
The way I would like to designate the hours on the electronic time sheet is to select a group of cells and then press a pushbutton to color code the selected grids.
I did some searching and found a way to create the grids and individually change the patterns/colors/etc for each grid on a mouse click here:

This is a good start but I haven't been able to find information on how to select grids and then perform an action.
Is this something I should try to do with a table?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I guess I should state how much of a newbie I am.
I did take a summer Java course at a community college this summer and I have some other programming experience (mostly Matlab).
The course covered a lot of the language but it wasn't exhaustive. We covered (in no particular order) Arrays, Interfaces, overloading, inheritance, loops, actionlisteners, Layout managers, exceptions (a little) One thing that we really didn't get into were packages.
We did some GUI design, but not a whole lot.
The programming that I do with Matlab is very similar to C. (i.e. highly procedural not Object Oriented) so I think that's where some of my stumbling blocks are. I feel pretty comfortable reading Java code and using the API (sort of) but I didn't even know that 2D intersections existed.
I have just started using eclipse last week. My previous coding was just done with textpad, so I am trying to get used to compiling code and building projects (and .jars) with an IDE.

Creating a "grid" or "wall" of words

I am just starting to learn a lot about expressions and their uses. I have been looking for a simple way to create an effect in one comp that I will then use inside another.
The first effect I want to create is to take a word and duplicate it many times and have it in a different position for each duplication. Basically I want to create a "wall" of text.
I dont want to have to create multiple layers if I dont have to. I would rather use an expression which can cause multiple copies of the one layer to appear as a sheet in the comp, where the word is offset in its position for every duplication that the expression creates.
Further I would like to have each duplication animate separately. For the 20 seconds of my comp I have it set up that the word changes on a regular interval and I would like to have that happen for each duplicate but start at a different time. In effect what would end up happening is a wall of all the words in the layer would be displayed at a different place on the "wall" and change at differing times.
I have tried to create this effect, but after 10 layers for parenting and 10 layers for different positions it got a little unwieldy, thus my reason for posting this question.
I wish I had an example to point people to, but unfortunately I dont. I hope this makes sense. Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

No, text layers cannot be "measured" exactly. There is an undocumented function called sourceRectAtTime(), however, that might do some good. You'd sample the dimensions for each maximum expansion in either direction and then interpolate the values across time. Example:
t1=0.5; //time in seconds
t2=3; //time in seconds
maxX_t1=thisLayer.sourceRectAtTime(t1)[0];
maxX_t2=thisLayer.sourceRectAtTime(t2)[0];
mBlend=linear(time,t1,t2,maxX_t1,maxX_t2);
You can then enter the result of mBlend in place of the fixed dimensions. Be aware, though, that this may produce odd results and break up the grid, especailly with random timing. You'd als have to find a more elegant way of feeding times to the interpolation, preferably based on the keyframing of a master layer or markers, e.g.
t1=thisComp.layer("Master").effect("Slider")("Slider").key(1);
t2=thisComp.layer("Master").effect("Slider")("Slider").key(2);
and so on. If you have a lot of keys/ markers, you will have to further automate by doing all this in loops. I recomment Dan's site motionscript.com for reference. He has multiple examples that explain the use of markers for semi-automated animation, which should give you some ideas.

How do I create multiple-up pages populated with variable data?

I am trying to create a variable data Illustrator file but with a catch, I have to create multiple points of data on one artboard. I am using a template with 36 identical shapes, and I'm trying to add a different image to each based off of using variable data. I understand the premise of creating multiple output files based off of an illustrator file and data, but I have to create a single output file using 36 points of data, all QR codes. The reason is that this 36-up 14.5" x 14.5" sheet will be printed on a large format inkjet and then be fed into another machine (not a cutter) that requires that specific layout for it's process. I cannot create individual files, I need sheets based off of my 14.5" x 14.5" 36-up template.
Any suggestions other than making each shape in the template a separate variable (even though they are all the exact same shape) would be greatly appreciated.

You're barking up the wrong tree for this with Illustrator's Variables palette.
Think of it like this:
Imagine a typical spreadsheet with multiple rows of the same kind of data, except for the first row which serves as the "labels" of the columns.
The on-page objects which you define as Variables in Illustrator correspond to the first row; the column labels.
The datasets correspond to the following rows of values below the label row.
Cycling through the datasets simply moves up and down the rows, revealing one row's data at a time for each of the column labels.
Your multi-up array does not fit that data model. You are essentially trying to make a layout showing all the individual cells below the single label of one column (downward across all rows). (Illustrator's Variables feature doesn't even let you put multiple instances of a single variable in the document, so that the same value occurs in multiple places.)
You're trying to build the functional equivalent of a typical "gang up" press sheet, like a 10-up layout of business cards, each showing the same kind of data (name, phone, etc.) for multiple employees, so that you don't have to do separate press runs for each employee. That's certainly a common need, and one quite appropriate to a program like Illustrator. But Illustrator's Variables feature does not do that.
Essentially, what you are wanting to do is to replicate the basic functionality of any program which is used to print labels from data (like the typical mail merge function for address labels which are ganged up with some number of different labels on a page). What you want could be done in Illustrator via a custom JavaScript, but it would be a pretty silly exercise in reinventing the wheel. If it were me, I'd probably build the solution in FileMaker Pro (a database program), depending on the specific graphics requirements. However, you should be able to do it in InDesign, using its data merge feature.

I need to make a table of contents for my Mater's Thesis and want to use the automatic table of contents feature. I want the first sentence of a paragraph to have a different paragraph setting than the rest of the paragraph. Is this possible?

Nice of you to be doing this for your Mother's Thesis.
There are several issues here:
1. A Paragraph Style is what it says, the style for the paragraph
2. You can format text within a paragraph by applying a Character Style
3. Pages 5.5.1 lets you apply formatting to overall text for the T.O.C. but not parts of it and you can not retain that formatting as a Paragraph style
So in answer to your question, no.
You will need to create the T.O.C. manually and unfortunately as Pages 5.5.1 can't create bookmarks (just one of over 100 missing features) you will be unable to link the T.O.C. to the referred pages in the list.
