Create multiple paged pdf, ran out of room?

I'm trying to create a 19 page pdf in AI, but it will not let me. Is there some way to resize the canvas, or something? I need 19 letter sized pages but it won't let me create them. Thanks for any help

It is probably because you are trying to arrange the artboards in a straight single row and you have run out of canvas space on the right side. if you cgose a different configuration you will be able to do what you wish to accomplish.
The way you can accomplish what you wish is to create one artboard move it to the left then in the artboard panel choose duplicate artboard 18 times.
The other way is make a letter size rectangle and move that to the left of the canvas and then use the Object>Transform>Move (Copy) and then the Command D to make 19 rectangles or use the Effect>Distort and Transform>Transform move the rectangle the width of the rectangle plus extra for the gutter and choose 18 copies then expand the appearance select all the rectangles and go to Object>Artboards>Convert to Artboards.
Otherwise you are just going to get this message.
Then make a template.

    Yes.  The music on the old iPod will need to be stored in your iTunes library on your computer though for you to sync it over to the new iPod.  See this article for different ways to handle multiple iPods with one computer.

  • Apple Preview, creating multiple page PDFs

    I often need to create multiple page PDF documents by using either existing images or by using a scanner. Is there an easy way to so simply choose multiple files in the finder and right-click "Create PDF from files"?
    We have:
    - Compress 2 items
    - Rename 2 items
    - Burn 2 items to disc
    How about
    Compress items
    2
    Rename items
    2
    Burn items
    2
    Create PDF from items
    2
    I also noticed that the cover page mostly is full size and the sup pages of the created PDF document contains a white border. Is this the printer margin that is automatically assigned to the sub pages?

    Yes, and another automator for opening the sidebar automatically if a PDF contains at least 2 pages.
    THANK YOU ... my Apple computer is not dumb.

  • Creating Multiple Page PDF Documents

    I am not sure how to creat a multiple page PDF document.

    Hi...
    There are two ways... i think the Help offers one solution, else do a search on Google (that's how i figured it out).
    Alternatively, there's a plugin you can buy called 'Multipage'... just do a search for it...

  • How to create multiple page pdf file

    Hello,
    Sometimes I need to create multiple (more precisely double) page pdf file from another pdf file to reduce the printing cost of the document. For this I crop the single page document and then print it in a double page pdf file (in landscape).
    But I am still facing a problem in this regard. When I make a double page pdf the gutter (distance between two pages, left and right) is more than 1.5 inch. This is a great problem. Can anyone tell me how to reduce the gutter when making a double page pdf file (don't just suggest to crop the single page pdf, i tried this as well, I cropped using the feature "remove white margin" but still there is more than 1.5 inch between two pages)
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    mathmad

    When you print, select the printer properties for the Adobe PDF printer. On the layout tab is an option for the number of pages per sheet. In some versions it is listed as multi-up as I recall. I did not say to simply print from the 2-up display. It is a printer option, not a display option.

  • Need to create multiple Premiere Pro Titles out of a Text file

    Hi everyone !
    I'm using Premiere Pro CS6. I've prepared a *.txt file (plain text) with about 70 lines (each line has 5-10 words max) and I'm looking for a way to create multiple PP Titles out of it (one Title per line) but in a "batch" manner (i.e. without having to create a new title each time and copy-paste the line-text in it, etc) as I need to end up with all 70 titles in my timeline...
    Could you possiby suggest a way to do this ? Something like "importing" the *.txt file in Premiere Pro and auto-breaking it up into 70 separate titles or something ??
    Many thanks in advance guys !!

    yes, here is a direct link to the tutorial.
    has me disappointed in adobe and in the development of software in general, but yeah, i'm following this tutorial right now: https://vimeo.com/80445034
    the bummer part is -- well -- will that make the text less crisp, less clear?
    also, if we are creating a lot of slides, ideally, we would have an easy way to create clear videos of our slide presentations.
    i tried a bunch of slideshow tools and it is amazing to me how bad they are.
    anyway, i am using this gruesome but brilliant workaround right now (the ms word, indesign, premiere combo).
    as brilliant as it is to have found this kind of workaround solution -- it amazes me that adobe has such profound resources -- and these apps behave so belligerently.
    best,

  • How to create multiple editable PDFs from data merged Indesign file

    Hi
    This is quite complicated but I'm hoping someone can help me and hoping I can explain it too!
    I am working on a project for a client. She wants to send 150 people a 6 page PDF with fields to complete and return to her.
    She has an Excel spreadsheet with some of the fields completed already so these will be Data Merged into InDesign CS6.
    The short version of the question goes like this:
    Can you automate the process so that once all the data is in the InDesign file, it can then create a PDF every 6 pages all in one go?
    For those still interested, the long version of the question goes like this:
    I have created 3 pages in InDesign with fields to complete and used the 'Data Merge' facility to add the Excel info.
    I have created 3 more pages with blank fields to fill in.
    Then I have made all fields editable using the 'Buttons and Forms' facility in the Interactive menu.
    Then I have created an interactive PDF. Then I have opened that PDF in Adobe Acrobat X Pro and saved it as 'Reader Extended PDF' and 'Enable Additional Features'
    I now have an Editable PDF with half the fields filled in and half blank to be filled in and this can be saved and returned.
    Now, this would be great if it was only one or two. But I need to create 150 different versions and this is just for the Pilot study. If all goes well, this will go to 5,000 people and I can't be creating 5,000 seperate PDFS!!
    At this stage, I am just focussing on the 150. So again, going back to the original question, is there a script that could be written either to break up the 1st PDF every 6 pages into 150 different PDFS? Is there even a way of extending that script to Save as Reader Extended etc? Is there a simple idea that I'm missing? Are there any ways to do this? I can use 'Created Merged Documents' to make 150 x 6 pages in Indesign so can anything be done from there?
    Any advice greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    G

    Hi Akash,
    1) Pass the three header data in header table. 2) Pass all the item data in item table. here explain where you struck.

  • Ran Out of Room

    I have an 8G iPod and while I love it, I've run out of room and would like to move to a 32G. Do I need to buy a whole new iPod, or is there some way to upgrade my current one?

    If your iPod is an iPod nano or an iPod touch, then yes, you will need to buy a whole new one (the "hard drive" which is really flash, is mounted directly on the motherboard).
    If you have an iPod classic, video, mini, or something older, it is very upgradeable.
    Assuming yours is 8gb though, it's probably flash and therefore un-upgradeable, sorry!

  • How to create multiple page PDF from multiple jpg images?

    I have three jpeg images with pixel dimensions 1008 x 1464. I wish to create a PDF file with one image per page. Apparently Preview previously performed this function, and this functionality was deliberately removed by the time of Mac OS X 10.6.
    I use Mac OS X 10.6.8. I have combined the images via Gimp into one jpeg image of size 1008 x 4392, but it would be better if I could create a PDF file. I have been unable to figure out how to do this via GraphicConverter, which trial version constantly displays the 30 second "buy me" window before loading -- annoying: I once accidentally opened it, and it would not let me close the application until the "buy me" window finished...
    I have been able to create a PDF file through the action of "printing" (cf. https://discussions.apple.com/message/12395021#12395021), but that reduces the image size and creates a white margin around the images (as if printing on a sheet of paper), which I wish to avoid.
    Thank you for your time and help!

    I drag and dropped from Finder into TextEdit, and it only copied the file path as text. From what software would I drag the images into TextEdit?
    First, set the TextEdit document to Rich Text Format - you can do that via the Format menu in TextEdit. This will allow the inclusion of pictures.
    Then you can either -
    • Drag an image file into the TextEdit window, and a preview-sized image will be inserted. If this is too small for your purposes -
    • Open the image file in Preview (or an image editor, if you choose), size the image to your liking, press Command-A (Select All) and the press Command-C (Copy) - doing this will place a copy of the image on the Clipboard. Then switch focus to the TextEdit document and press Command-V (Paste). This will place a large-size image of the file.

  • Creating multiple-paged documents using Illustrator

    Hi all! I normally use InDesign to create many-page projects. But twice now, I've had clients request that I create the file using Illustrator. Am I missing something? Can Illustrator do this? It seems to be each page would have to be its own separate file. That seems cumbersome to me. Thanks.
    Julie

    In CS 4 & 5 you can can have multiple artboards which are page like regions of the canvas they an be printed like pages.
    In previous versions you would tile the art within a larger dimension document.
    Bot can be printed or saved to a Multipage pdf.

  • Using data from a spreadsheet, how can I create multiple completed PDFs from a form template?

    Note that I am completely new to adobe acrobat.
    I have a form template for a completion certificate for students who take a summer workshop where I'm working. It includes data such as their name and the program they completed. I have all the necessary information for each student in an excel spread sheet. Rather than sit here and enter data into the form 300+ times, I want to automate the process. I'd like to be able to specify the spread sheet and either have acrobat just print out all 300, or save them as seperate files so I can print them easily.
    Thanks for the help!

    Thanks for the response! I'd be interested in writing a script for it (I've actually been researching it a bit already). I'm completely new to Javascript (and scripting) but have a fair level of experience with c/c++ so I feel it shouldn't be too bad. I'll ask here for now, just let me know if I should ask a new question on the scripting forum instead.
    I've looked at the Acrobat JavaScript API Reference (http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/js_api_reference.pdf) a bit but am having trouble finding a way to read the spreadsheet's data in (I was planning on using a csv file). I found Doc.importTextData(), which can parse a tab delimited file and from the sounds of it fill in the forms automatically (though I would much prefer a c style file interface that lets me write the parsing logic). Every time I try to call importTextData it returns -1 though, which means "Warning: User Canceled File Select". When I call it direct from the JavaScript Debug Console I just get a -1, but when I have it execute when I save I get "NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.". I did a bit of research on that and modified my script to look like:
    Autofill = app.trustedFunction(
        function ()
            app.trustedFunction(importTextData);
            app.beginPriv();
            var result = this.importTextData("test.csv", 0);
            app.endPriv();
            return result;
    I've also tried running Acrobat as an administrator, but I still get the same error. I could just not be understanding privileges correctly.
    My overall plan was:
        for each row in the spreadsheet
            - read the row in from the file
            - fill out the fields in the PDF using the read data
            - save the file with a new file name.
    If there is a better method to do this, just let me know.
    Thanks again for your time!

  • Create Multiple Saved PDFs

    Each Month, I need to prepare forms for our payroll guys for each of my 40 team members.
    I have a pdf form which I call Master Form.pdf. I also have data that needs to go in the form in a tab-deliminated text file (I use excel to save data in this file).
    At present, I need to open the Master Form.pdf and select import data option and then individually select one row at a time.
    After selecting the row, I flatten the page and save it as "team member + yymmdd + advance.pdf".
    This is very tedious. Is it possible to write a script which will:
    a.     open my “Master Form.pdf” and “Data.txt”;
    b.     selects each row that has Y entered in first column;
    c.     enters data in the file;
    d.     Flattens the page;
    e.     saves it in a preselected location, in a new directory of todays date yymmdd format with file name as team member + yymmdd + advance.pdf
    Many thanks for your help!!!

    Most of this is possible. Here are some pointers:
    For A, open the data file and read from it using the importTextData method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.502.html
    This needs to be run from a privileged context, so it would be best to set up a folder-level JavaScript file for this.
    For B, you would have to check the form field that's populated with the corresponding field in the data field to see if its value is "Y" and extract and save to a new file using the doc.extractPages method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.465.html
    This too needs to be run from a privileged context.
    For C, this will happen automatically as you loop through the records in the data file using the importTextData method in step A.
    For D, use the doc.flattenPages method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.466.html
    To make this easier, you can in step B spawn a template to create a new page and flatten it and then extract the page to a new file. See the template.spawn method for more info: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1216.html
    For E, that would be part of the doc.extractPages process, although it will not let you create a new folder, so you'll have to save to an existing one.

  • Multiple import issues (ran out of troubleshooting ideas) - LR3

    I reformatted the card in my camera prior to shooting so I don't think the files are damaged, especially since they appear to work in Bridge/Photoshop just fine; however, when I attempt to import via my SDHC card & USB reader I get one of two errors: Could not copy a file to requested location, or the following files were not imported because they could not be read.
    The "Could Not Copy File..." error message appears when I try to import directly via the USB reader/SDHC card. When I take the files from the SDHC card and drag them to the desktop, put them in their own folder (there are 200+ files) and try to import from that folder, I got the same error message. I'm not sure when I got the message about not being able to read the files. I'm trying to import these every which way, and the files seem to be OK because they work in Bridge. It's worth noting I am unable at this point to import ANYTHING into LR3. Even a random jpg I found on my computer won't import.
    HERE IS WHAT I HAVE I TRIED:
    Restarting my computer
    Quitting LR3 and restarting
    Optimizing my LR3 catalog
    Creating a brand-new catalog and trying to import photos there with the hope of combining catalogs later (received the same error message)
    Any help would be MUCH appreciated. I have an assignment due in class tomorrow and I'm stuck until I figure out what the heck is going on. Thanks again.
    PS: I also don't know why I'm getting that 2010 Question-Mark error below. I removed that folder when I saw it earlier today, and it appeared again. I haven't seen that before, nor have I experienced this problem ever before.

    The question mark on the folder indicates that the OS has been used to relocate, move or delete files, sometimes to an external hdd.
    You should right click or command click on the folder and point Lightroom by navigating to the correct location.
    Whether or not this is causing the import conflict remains to be seen but the folder does look like a top level folder.

  • Need help exporting multiple individual PDF files out of Indesign CC

    I work for a monthly publication and we send our files to the press at the end of the month. There are around 190+ pages that need to be exported as individual PDF's and each PDF needs to be labled as their correct page number. Since we often are backed up against the wall at our deadline, we really need a way to export all these files at one time. Is there a way to export multiple PDF files at one time in Indesign CC?

    You could script InDesign to export each page as individual PDF with specific export presets and labeled with correct page number.
    But you could also use Acrobat Pro for this task (sorry for the certainly wrong translation of the Acrobat UI – I use a german version ...):
    Export the whole publication as 1 PDF file (pp. 1-190).
    Open it in Acrobat Pro and choose »Tools › Extract Pages«.
    Type 1 to 190 and check the box »extract pages as single pages«, choose the location where to extract to and acrobat automatically numbers your new PDFs sequentially from 1 to x. (Caution: it doesn’t take the correct page number, but numbers sequentially, so it is important to have a PDF from pp. 1-190 in the correct order.)
    So with this (as mentioned – sorry for German ):
    You’ll get this:

  • Cropping multiple paged PDF imgs to fit iPad screen

    I recently purchased an ipad with the primary use being to use it as a music reader. I have thousands of pages of PDF scanned in now, and find that with the smaller iPad screen, every little bit helps in the resizing.
    I know I will have to take each page individually (but hopefully within the same file). I want to crop (delete edges of page) image files, to trim off unimportant bits of image file, or the margins of my sheet music in other words. I could do this by eye, but I want each page to be the right dimensions for the ipad to full screen them.
    Any thoughts?

    Interactive PDF on a mobile device is a crapshoot. The reader apps are all
    over the place as far as capability.
    If you can control the app, great, but if you’re sending the PDF you’re
    taking a shot that the recipient will have a reader capable of displaying
    it.
    You might consider creating a DPS folio and using the Adobe Content Viewer
    to either share of display it. DPS is far more capable of interactivity.
    We have a forum dedicated to it: https://forums.adobe.com/community/dps
