Create multistep page flow using workflow

Hello, I'm reading the OA Framework Developer's guide and trying to see how to use Workflow with the OA framework extension and on page 256 it says: To create a multistep page flow using workflow: ... this content is incomplete... please see the OA Framework forum for information on how to access these instructions.
So here I am! I can't find the information on how to access these instructions. Can anyone help?

I have that page from the older version, near the end it has in RED the following: "This content is incomplete as of the release 11.5.10 production documentation build. Have you seen the actual tutorial, not just the description of using workflow to accomplish pageflow?

You might try to create a bunch of Tabs (static) and set shown condition to a variable controlled dynamically. Sort of semi-dynamical Tab, which I actually use but don't know it fit your need or not.

Can I create a page border using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm making a certificate of completion and would like to create a page border. Is there any way to do this is Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If what you want to do is scale a page down to a smaller size, Acrobat doesn't do that, not directly anyway. I think there are plugins for Acrobat that can do this.
if you're desperate and/or don't want to go to that expense, there is a hack available in Acrobat that can get you there. If you've added other interactive elements (links, bookmarks, etc.), you'd have to recreate them. Post again, preferably in a new topic (since it doesn't apply to this one), for more info.

ID CS5.5 book creates weird page flow in PDF

I am using ID version 7.5.2 and Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (version 9.5.0).
I created an InDesign book (indb) that condains an indd file for each chapter. There are about 20 chapters so far, typically 4 to 7 pages each. The documents all use the same 2-page spread. The page numbering is automatic. And the document setup dialog has "facing pages" checked.
When I use the default preset in the File menu to create a PDF (using all default settings, no changes in the dialog), it successfully creates the PDF, but the flow of pages is not as expected. Specifically, Acrobat and Reader seem to be treating each 2-page spread (when in the same indd file) as a page. With Page Display set to "Single Page View," Reader shows me page one alone and then pages 2 and 3 side by side. And so on, so that whenever a 2-page spread is from a single indd file, Reader treats them as one page. And when pages which should face each other are from different indd files, they appear separately, one below the other.
Other types of Page Display settings give similar weird behavior. For example, "Two Page View" might show pages 20 and 21 as the left page and pages 22 and 23 as the right page as long as all of that content comes from the same indd file.
Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong? Or, alternatively, is there anything I can do in the full Acrobat to get the display behavior back to the usual facing-page format?
Note that I have been using ID for many years, but have not used the Book feature (indb file) recently. I'm using the Book feature this time because I plan to create an EPUB and I understand that the easiest way to force each chapter to start at the top of a page is to put each chapter in its own indd within a book.

With your help it's working 90% correctly. I didn't notice at the bottom of the dialog where I'm asked for the file name to save as that it was defaulting to PDF (Interactive). Once I changed it to PDF (Print), I started seeing consistent 2-page spreads in Reader/Acrobat when I set Page Display to 2-page.
One small step to go. I'd like to see all odd-numbered pages on the right, as in a printed book (even though that means the first spread in Reader will have no page on the left). That behavior will put the page numbers at the outside edge and not near the gutter.
I've tried setting "Next Odd" in the Book Page Numbering Options dialog but, as expected, that made every chapter begin on an odd-numbered page. I just want the first indd to start on an odd page.
I've also tried toggling the Spreads checkbox and the Facing Pages checkbox, but changes there only make matters worse.
Bottom line: where can I tell InDesign (or Acrobat, if necessary) to always show page 1 and all odd-numbered pages on the right when Reader is in 2-page display mode?

Can a template created in Pages be used in Word?

I need to create a document template that will be used in Microsoft Word. Can I create it in Pages?

Word can't open .pages files, or Pages template files. You would have to Export your Pages document to Word format and then see how it looks when opened in Word. If you are happy with the result you can save the document as a template in Word. Not all Pages features will survive the export.

Vendor create process using workflow

hello,
I have been assigned a project to desgin a process to automatically create a vendor. below is what I think has to be done. can this be reviewed to see if this is the correct approch and if not, suggest a better approach.
1) the vendor will sign onto our portal and submit their information to have them created as a vendor in our system. this information will be stored in a custom table
2) the portal process will have a ABAP program that generates the screen for the user to enter thier data. this program will also start a workflow that will send a notification to a person inside our company for them to review the information and decide weather the vendor can be added.
3) if the person approves the request, the workflow will submit a process to create the vendor, and send a approval email to the vendor
4) If the person rejects the process, the workflow will send an rejecction email will be sent to the vendor

I'd also suggest looking at the Sample Workflow Processes included with Oracle Workflow.
There are also some on demand Oracle iLearning courses (ilearning.oracle.com) which should be very useful for you.

Could anyone give me a case study describing how to create a new process using workflow builder? Where are the notifications saved in the database? Where is the process saved? Give me a general flow of events in the creation of, say a document management process wherein all these details are specified. A document containing the whole flow involved in the creation of a process using workflow builder. What all PL/SQL procedures I need to write and all. I have both workflow server and builder installed.
This would be of immense help.

Third party address validation in ESS pages using workflows

Can anyone help out in giving some ideas for solutioning the following.
Address entered in the page "Main Address: Enter New Address" of
Employee Self Service needs to be validated using third party PL/SQL API. This PL/SQL API is available in the same schema where HRMS objects are available. After the validating the address, user can be shown recommended or invalid address message when address entered is not valid. User can accept the recommended address or reject it in which case the original user entered address would be saved.
ESS pages are using workflows. What is the best design to call the third party address validation from the workflow and show the page with recommended address/invalid address message with "Accept" and "Reject" options. Can anyone help out on what are the technical possibilities to implement this address validation in the ESS page?.

After the validation, user is shown a page with "Ok" and "Cancel" options ( please note as said earlier we are not going with "Accept" or "Reject") along with recommended address if the address needs to be corrected. If user clicks "Ok", user will be in the Address update page and can edit the address with the recommded address. If user clicks "Cancel", control goes to next page by saving the address what ever is entered intially.
After passing through the validation logic in the work flow process and based on the result returned, can a OAF page be invoked which can show recommended address with OK and Cancel buttons?

Creating Prodcution order using workflows

Hi all,
Iam new to workflows. I have been reading the documents on Workflows on SDN and few other sites.
I want to know whether we can create a production order using Workflows. If so, How we need to
pass necessary data like Material, Plant, Order type, Quantity and Basic Start date/ Basic finish date to
the Workflows? I have idea about Business objects, Events,Step types and overview of the workflow
terminology and pracitced few examples on workflows. Can anybody help me please?

I dont know about standard existing workflows available for your requirement as mentioned in one of the posts here. so you better check the availale standard first and then decide if you want to build a customised one
and wat i told you is wat u need to do if you go for a customising one................ first of all identify what abap you are going to write to create your prodcution order. either its BAPI or BDC whatever.......maybe you create your own function module for doing that stuff...............then you extend the busines object of the prod order , then you add another method in it and call your function module in this method.........
ok now you create activity step in your workflow that you have already made with all the start events and things like that.........this activity step will have a task that calls this new method of yours..... .
you need to know some basic fundamentals of workflow for doing all this and if its your first time then it wil take some time.......

Nested Page Flows and Pop Ups - Workshop 8.1

Hi, everybody.
I'm facing the following problem:
I've a "main" page flow within some page flow-scoped data and forms. Now i need to open/execute another page flow (a "secondary" one) inside a pop up window. The tricky is i cannot "lose" the data in the first page flow. I will navigate to main page, fill some data, open the pop up, execute some queries, close the pop up and continue previous navigation.
If i don't use a "nested" page flow for my pop up, i loose the page flow-scoped data from my main page flow (a new page flow is created).
If i use a nested page flow, the following scene does not work:
- Go to main page (create main page flow);
- Fill some data;
- Open pop up (create nested page flow);
- Perform some queries (execute actions inside nested page flow);
- Close pop up window;
- Fill some data;
- Submit main page;
- Execute form validation using Struts Validator.
When i execute the last step and there are errors in the submitted form, netui data binding tags fail. I believe that the engine "thinks" that it should use nested page flow (and form) instead of the main page flow (and form).
I've found a workaround for this situation: When the pop up is closed, the main page execute a "dummy refresh action" in the main page flow.
Is this the correct behaviour ? Is there another way of do it ?

I cannot lose page flow data because i have other kind of data (beside a form) inside my page flow: Options values, previous search result list, ...
Can i close the pop up window without call "return-action" ? How should i proceed if i don't need/have a "return-action" ?
How should i proceed if i should to specify the forward of a "return-action" as a request parameter/attribute ?

Replacing page flow factory

Hello,
We are using Portal 8.1 SP6
I have seen an interesting way to implement dependency injection in NanoWAR (PicoContainer).
They have implemented their own the struts processorClass, which is responsible to resolve the dependencies for the struts Action classes, and there they inject dependencies.
The dependencies key is the URL to an action.
Since a page flow is somehow a struts action, I was looking for a way to replace the processor class by my own one. Have a look at the .pageflow-struts-generated directory and you will see that Portal has defined following line:
processorClass="com.bea.wlw.netui.pageflow.PageFlowRequestProcessor"
Has anybody any idea about how to replace that class?
If this is not possible, is there a way replace Portal's page flow factory by my own one?

Hello,
After some research Workshop documentation I have found the com.bea.wlw.netui.pageflow.FlowControllerFactory class.
That class is responsible to resolve the page flow class and to create new page flow instances.
If I could specify the FlowControllerFactory, it would be possible to inject the dependencies into the page flows, just after they get instantiated.
The idea is to declare a decorator for the FlowControllerFactory that injects the dependencies (setter injection) after the decorated FlowControllerFactory has created a page flow.
Note that I would prefer to use constructor injection. But this is a good start.
I would appreciate any idea about how to replace the FlowControllerFactory.

Applet and Page flow communication

we have a design requirement where we need to have access to various peripherals
like cash drawer,point of sales printer etc form the client workstation. We are
usign workshop for development and we are looking into integrating an applet into
the pageflow(actually the pages created using page flows) and need to be able
to pass data into the applet at run time from the page (created usign page flow)
like commands to open the cash drawer, to start and end the printing .
Is it possible to pass data from the pages created using page flows into the applet
at run time? if so could someone share a small code snippet.

You can do this if you use the JSP to render data into the applet's
<param/> tags. For example, you can evaluate expressions that bind to
the JPF / action form / request / etc and render the output using the
<netui:content> tag.
In your JSP, this might look like:
<param
name="<netui:content value="{pageFlow.someName}"/>
value="<netui:content value="{pageFlow.someValue}"/>"
/>
If the value of {pageFlow.someName} is foo and the value of
{pageFlow.someValue} is bar, then this would write:
<param name="foo" value="bar"/>
If you have a data set to render in <param/> tags, you can certainly
nest something like the example above inside the <netui-data:repeater>
and use the "container.item" binding context.

How to create a page break in PDF output

Hi there
Does anyone know how to create a page break in the PDF output when using the EXPORT TO PDF command?
I can create a page break using the page-break-after/before HTML stylesheet command, but this is not "interpreted" when the PDF is generated, and I am required to print each table in my web template on a new page.
Please ... been searching for ages for a solution to this and can't find anything.

FrameMaker 11 won't display page flow

Working in a 60+ page document and when it gets to page 42 it will not display the remaining pages. I know they are there as I can see the curser work through the page flow using the arrow key to move down but the page stays at 42.

Sounds like someone either deleted auto-connected pages, or inserted a disconnected page.
What is the Autoconnect status of the Flow A text frame on the last few pages?
