Create new account - Lose music library?

I have recently moved and have purchased my own computer. I had all of my iTunes music transfered to the new computer. I previously shared an iTunes account with my parents' on their computer. If I create a new account on my new computer, will I lose all the music in my library?

Presuming you mean a new iTunes Store account, no, you won't lose anything. You will, however, have to authorized the new computer to your parents' iTunes Store account to be able to play those previously-purchased tracks. But you can have a single computer authorized to up to five iTunes Store accounts, so there shouldn't be any problem.

  • Creating new Genres in Music Library

The help pages refer to a Genre pop up menu, which can be customised. I can't find the pop up menu. I want to create new genres, e.g. Opera, Live albums, etc. I am using iTunes version 9.1

Elise, When you right-click a track, choose Get Info and go to the Info tab. There you will see a box, and you can type in any genre you want: "Opera," "Live albums," "Live opera albums," etc.
Once you create a new genre, it will appear in the drop down menu, as TT2 mentions, as long as there is at least one song in the library using it.

  • Help creating new account

I want to make an account for my brother who just got some itunes music cards but everytime I try it asks me for a credit card. When I made my account before I didnt need to use a credit card but I forget how I did it. Could someone help me make his account without giving out a credit card number.

#1 Log off from any account
#2 Choose to redeem in iTMS
    #3 Create new account
now there will be an option to skip CC details.
Creating an account before redeeming will alway require CC details.
    It's a little bit tricky.

    Dear sirs,
Could you please help me on my problem with my apple ID
I create new account with security questions, and when I try to purchase paid application,it ask me for answers the questions but it's not working,
My account have 50$ and still didn't buy anything

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • My friend gave me ipod touch with all his accounts, i created new accounts but when i went on the appstore and tried to update apps installed by him,i was asked his account's password! i dont know his password.how can i use my account to update apps?

my friend gave me ipod touch with all his accounts, i created new accounts but when i went on the appstore and tried to update apps installed by him,i was asked his account's password! i dont know his password.how can i use my account to update apps?

You can't.  Apps and really all content purchased/downloaded through one Apple ID is forever tied to that Apple ID.  In the case of Apps they will always request that Apple ID to update as they are licensed to that Apple ID.
In reality, the Apps were licensed to that Apple ID by the developer.  And cannot simply be given away to you for you to use.
He should have wiped the iPod clean so you could set it up for your use without any of his accounts or purchased content as you are not really licensed to any of those Apps.
Your friend should have followed this support document before giving the iPod to you:
What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Welcome to the HP Consumer Printer Forums.
Let's see if I can help you resolve this issue. Try using a different web browser (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, Safari) or a mobile browser (iOS, Android, etc.) to see if that helps. Let me know if it does not.
If I have helped in any way, just click the Kudos star on the left. Also, if your issue has been resolved, don't forget to select Accept as Solution

  • Selling iBook, how restore OS X so it would play the intro and allow to create new account?

So I'm about to sell my iBook G4 which has Leopard in it.
Is it possible to restore it to a state where when the new owner boots it up it plays the intro video and allows him to create new account, without the old account still being present? I don't have anything important stored on that machine so of course I could just delete all stuff and leave it there but it would nice to allow the new owner to enter his own information, I tend to enter false information so my actual name or address etc. is not stored anywhere.

Perform a Erase and Install on your iBook G4 and don't complete the set up assistant after the installation. This will take care of your concern.

  • Ordering Prints - "Create New Account" Bug

I would like to order some prints through Aperture. However, when it asks me to sign in, I enter my information and it takes me to a "Create New Account" page. My Apple ID is valid and works will all other Apple products. Anyone else experiencing this bug?
I'm using a RD MacBook Pro, and the latest version of Apeture 3.
    Thanks everyone.

Just enter all your current information, as if it was asking to "confirm" it, not "create" a new account.  You may even have to do this twice, for reasons I've never been able to figure out, but it WILL work if you just input your current information.  It's weird.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, if Apple simply allowed people to log into different accounts and download content, everyone would be using everyone could share everyone else's content and bypass the need to purchase anything. To protect against this, they limit you to logging into a new account to once every 90 days.
If two or more of you, have different accounts and use only one computer, you should each have your own user account on the computer, to avoid the need to log in and out of iTunes.

  • Create new account and reset password options on AAD signIN page

    Hi there:
When using Azure Active Directory as an authentication provider for Azure Mobile Services, authentication works fine, but what about signing UP. How can I add the typical links like "Create new account" (with a confirmation link via email) and
"Reset Password" to the SignIN page?.
    Thx in adv,
    Gerardo

This is actually a question relating to AAD, not Mobile Services, as AAD is in control of that page, etc.
However, Azure Active Directory is intended as an enterprise identity management solution. There is no sign-up process, as users are managed explicitly by the organization.
My understanding is that you are looking for a custom authentication solution where users have usernames/passwords associated with your application. AAD is not meant for this use case. We do have
a tutorial for working with your own database, but you are responsible for the security, etc.

  • Apple tech helped me 60 min ago. Told me to create new account for wife. Wiped out her ipod music--now iTunes wont let me download it in her new account so I can restore her music!  Help!!

Today an Apple tech helped me 60 min ago. Although my wife and I have diff apple ID's, our music was mixing and syncin back and forth.  The tech told me to create new comp user account for wife which I did. I wiped out everything on her ipod and signed in under her ID.  When I tried to put it back I got a message that I couldn't download her purchased music for 90 days because there was another apple ID associated with my computer.  Not sure wether that means mine or hers.  What I am sure of is that I'm dead if I can't get her music back.  Please help.  Thanks,  Craig

I can understand how that would be frustrating. If you created a brand new Apple ID for her, your Apple ID should not have been affected any more than anyone else's. They are as separate from one another as your Apple ID is from mine.
Since you just bought your MacBook Air, you can certainly contact AppleCare for this, and I encourage you to do so. They will straighten it out.
Until then, if you want to troubleshoot this on your own, sign in to your Apple ID here:
    https://appleid.apple.com/
Click the blue "Manage your Apple ID" button. If it says it no longer exists or gives you other hassles, it's probably not worth your effort to pursue. Have Apple fix it.
Contact Apple starting with this link - never Google it: http://www.apple.com/support/
    Navigate the pages as follows:
Under "Contact Us" click the blue "Contact Support" link
Click the blue "Get Started" button
    Click "More Products & Services"
    Click "Apple ID"
Click "iTunes Store, App Store or Mac App Store"
Continue with the appropriate options and choose the contact method most convenient for you.

  • I Tunes - New Account - Import Administrator Library and Songs

    Hi,
I have just created an account for my kids (with parental control) and I would like to share my existing Itunes library and songs. Could I have an idea on a procedure to do that as for now they have an empty Itunes. I am running on Leopard.

The following is what I did. I'm not saying it's the only way or the best way but it works fine for me and my family.
Under my user login I went to my "Public" folder and created a new folder called "Shared". Use File > Get info and set the permissions for this new "Shared" folder. Make the Group "staff" and make "Access" Read & Write. You can give "others" Read & Write access too. I don't know if that is important or not.
Next, find your iTunes Music folder. It should be in your Music folder under your user name. Move the iTunes Music folder into the new "Shared" folder. Make the permissions on the iTunes Music folder the same as the "Shared" folder.
Open iTunes under your user login, go to iTunes, Preferences, Advanced. Show iTunes where the music folder lives by clicking on "Change" and navigating to the new location within "Shared". We're almost done.
Now login to your other user's accounts. Open their iTunes and do the same as above. This will cause everyone's iTunes to use the same master folder. They can access your songs and any songs they add will go there too. Do this for every user.
Also, check off the two options for "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library.
I believe that will do it for you.
