Hi!!!!
i need to create a new category in table COMM_CATEGORY, i try some function that do it, but i don't create any category....of course i do commit after call function...
any idea?

You can create a new category from transaction 'COMM_HIERARCHY'.
Categories are always created under a hierarchy.
Is there a reason for you to create it specifically from a FM?

Creating new 'category/index' for apple loops in logic

As well as the standard apple loops, I currently have an additional apple loops jampack & a number of self-made apple loops.
These have been indexed automatically, & can be referenced via the drop-down on the top right of the loop browser as 'jampack' & 'my loops' respectively.
I've just bought a 3rd party dvd of apple loops, & would like to be able to reference these via the same kind of category in the loopbrowser drop down, however, the 3rd party DVD has no 'installer' like the official jampack, but instead just has folders of 'apple-loopyfied' AIFFs to drop in the loop browser.
I assume if this is the case they will appear by default under 'my loops', which isn't ideal - is there a way I can manually create another category(/folder?) for these loops which I can reference via Logic's loop browser drop-down?
Any help appreciated

ok, still stuck on this but have found the following from page 61 on 'new in logic 7.2'

'To keep things tidy, the loop browser offers advanced loop management tools, the jam pack management drop-down allows you to limit the display to loops from a specific jam pack, or other folder' .....then....describing an option from the pull-down, 'vendor x - choose to play loops from a specific third party vendor'
- this looks perfect for what i want to do, but i assume a vendor must include certain data/meta-data in their loops for this indexing to work & display under vendor x as a dropdown, how do i know if the dvd I have bought will have this? hmmmm....

Create new category product in SRM

I've created in R/3 backend new category product. All seems rights in R/3.
But how could i pass them in SRM? Are there any standard function doing it?

when I wanted to create a category problematically, I saw this error:

Can anyone give me some hint about what it means?

Looks like an issue related to IdGenerator which sometimes might happen when you try to create items after some data import. You can check the DAS_ID_GENERATOR table in your CA schema and look for the row corresponding to "category" (the id_space_name column would be having item-descriptor names) and for that row you can try to update the seed value to a higher value or try to add a prefix or suffix on it. Restart your server after the changes. See if it helps.

Need to define new category of date in Schedule line item

There is a requirement to maintain quarterly delivery schedule while creating P.O. But currently only three options are available namely, date - week - month. How to create new category of date "quarter" in schedule line maintenance.

This is SAP Standard functionality. You Cannot Create Date Categories.
You can Acheive this with out Creating Date Categories.
In the Delivery Schedule tab Select the Date Category as Month M and Input as per your Requirement. Just Input Month and Year alone.
for Eg :
Date cat   Delivery Date Schedule Quantity
M             01.2009           100
M              04.2009           100

How to customize Category and Category items list while creating New Model

what the most convenient way to customize the Category and Category items list while creating New Model?
This is standard:
Now, what we want to achieve, is to customize this menu, to:
1. Display in the Category window only f.e. two categories:
- EA Diagrams
- BPM Diagrams
2. In the EA Diagrams, we want to have f.e. four copies of City Planning diagram, each of them should have different elements available, f.e. in the first copy, only Architecture Areas shall be made available, in the second one Architecture Areas and Business Functions, in the third on f.e. only Business Functions shall be made available. Additionally, it should behave like a hierarchy ... meaning you can create the second diagram, only as child (related diagram) of the first diagram etc.
I know, excluding the particular diagrams/diagram elements can be configured using the right/profile settings, but how to:
1. Customize the standard New Model menu window
2. Create copies of City Planning Diagrams with different set-ups
3. Set the relationship between diagrams
Is such a configuration change possible?

Click on Tools => General Options=> Model Creation
Click on Properties => at right of Default category set
Note : Model template does not work as Category. We can't set. An enchancement request has been open to SAP
In the following example I defined a new default (MyNewDefault.mcc). As you can see only BPMN models are available.
To create a new category set with BPMN choice
a) Copy default.mcc in MyNewDefault.mcc file.
    Go to Tools=>General Options=>Model Creation : Select your new category
    Go to Tools=>General Options=>Model Creation : Edit properties and remove all things you does not want keep
or
b) Go to Tools=>General options=>Model Creation : Edit properties and click on Save as button and specify the file name "MyNewDefault".
    Quit the window.
    Select you new category : Go to Tools=>General Options=>Model Creation : "MyNewDefault"
    Edit properties and remove all things you does not want keep.

     Specify yours conditons in your extension attached to your model
     Example : When the user want create a child diagram : You can display a list of Parent Diagrams to select from.
     You can set in your extension by VBScript parent-child relationship

If I understand well your question. I suggest to take a look in
Repository=>Administration=>Objects Permission Profile
You can specify objects to show, mask, deactivate at model level.
You can specifiy your own metadata.
But I'm not sure you can mask, deactivate functions following diagram selection. It seem to specific.

Categories can't be altered. You can only organise your books and pdfs into collections.

What do you want to do? Thee is no stardard "catagory" in iPhoto - are you talking about Keywords? If so you just type one in the keyword field

Define Item Categories*

Define Default Item cat grp for Material Type*
Define Item Category Usage*
Assign Item Categories*
The method of assignment of item category is carried out in t-code VOV4 and please have a look into this t-code and you wil have the exact idea regarding the sequence/combination for item category determination.

A rule of thumb in SAP is "Not to change the Standard Setting" Either it is Order document, item category,schedule line, pricing procedure, delivery type, billing type e.t.c.
Basically it depends on the BUSINESS REQUIREMENT,why we go for customization. 90% of the BR will not fit into SAP STANDARD setting. So, when u have to change any of the existing setting like creating a New sales order document for particular business only ( Foods business..) ( though we generally use TAN as standard item category ) we can derive a cusomtized one as per our needs.
BR needs may be:
1. New Partner Determination procedure
2. New Text determination procedure.
3. New pricing setup
4. New incomplete procedure.
there are a lot more to come. When your Business needs any change in the existing TAN setting, SAP gives u the flexibility of creating new Item category.
Also, if you start changing STANDARD setting ( TAN) as per your needs, SAP doesn't support it when u have some problems or any UPGRADE issue.
This is the real need of CUSTOMIZATION in any Business /CLIENT.

I think it would be great to create a new category called Christmas in the Library. Then to have it divide up like the books do into movies, then books and then music. Is it possible?

There are a couple of things you can do, probably the simplest and least bothersome (i.e. doesn't recategorist your music from 'Classical' to 'Christmas' so you can't sort by classical anymore) is to create your own play list (click the little plus sign in the bottom left of itunes) and call it 'Christmas' - then drag all the relevant songs into it - they don't duplicate, just create short-cuts.
When you view that list, you can the sort the contents by kind, and this will give you the divisions between books / music / movies etc...

Creating new VM ends with Error code 3430 and 3040 in Hyper-V log. Does anyone have any insight into what might cause this?

I have blownout the server and reinstalled the operating system and SCVVM and applied all the current updates to no avail. I have the exact same issue again. The problem seem to be at least on the serface an authority problem because I have no problem creating
new VM via the P2V process on an old Virtual Server running on Win2003R2.
Oh yes I can create new virtual machines on the system in question and move them to the library as was suggested to verify in a Blog post so I am really wondering what the problem is?
Configuration Analyzer Just gave me a warning about reporting not being setup on the VVM which it isn't so no suprise there?
Any information that might help me figure this would be greatly appreciated

I've looked at both threads, and there simply isn't enough information for me to tell you what is wrong. Please collect a trace (instructions in General forum) and open a case with CSS. CSS can provide more in depth analysis than what a forum
post allows.

Is there a way to create new keywords that are NOT subcategories of other keywords in PSE Organizer?

I would like to create a new keyword in the Organizer that is not a subcategory of OTHER.
Specifically I would like to create the keyword PETS, which could in turn have subcategories of different pets.
Currently the only way I can do this is to create PETS as a subcategory of OTHER which I would prefer not to do.
If this can be done, please advise me (in detail) how this can be done.
I am using PSE13 with Windows 8.1 (64-bit) as my OS.
