Create new Personnel Area

Hi Gurus,
Need some help with creating a New personnel Area on HCM module.
I know how to define and assign a Personnel Area. But need some further infomation on any other nodes that need to be modified when creating a new PA.
Any help will be welcome.

Hello,
Personnel Sub area has to created in Personal Arae(While creating PSA system asks you under which PA),that is the assignment also.
Then Employee Group & ESG has to created.
Finally Assignment of Personnel area to Company Code & Employee sub group to Employee group.
After creating Enterprise Structure,you have to clearly define you Organization str with PPOC_OLD or PPOC.That will complete your Complete organizational view in reporting strwise also.

I am very new to SAP HR, our clinet has plans to open a new plant for their organization.
Now we need to create a personnel area and personnel sub area.
Can you please explain how to configure the Personnel area and sub area through SPRO for the new plant?
Also, is it neccessary to assign the newly created PA and PSA to already present employee subgroups?

Hi,
You can create PA & PSA thru
spro : Enterprise structure - Definition - HRM - PA & PSA
spro : Enterprise structure - Assignemnt - HRM - PA to CC.
There is no direct relationship between a plant and PA&PSA info.
You can either create PAs inline with your plants or not.
It depends on your firms's enterprise structure.
There is no assignemnt between PA & PSA and employee groups.
You need to only assign newly created PA to company code.

Error in posting when transfer to a new personnel area / company code

Dear Experts,
We have a scenario where we have a transfer action for some of employees to a new personnel area (also new company code). When we post the result to accounting, we have an error like this : "Company code clearing account not found in co. code A for co. code B". I can see that the program is trying to post to both old and new company codes. I know that it might be a missing configuration in FI sides, but is it normal to post to both company codes. Logically it should post only to the new company code right ? Unless of course there is a retro run from the old company, but there isn't.
Please advise.

Ask ur controlling person reagarding this how he want to get
because generally there shd be two GL here for this scenario which is assigned to two company code
ask them how they have configured

Hi Mouly,
The pre- requisite for creation of depreciation area are
- Reporting of depreciation as per different laws i.e in india, we need to report depn as per Ind accounting standards, as per income tax act, etc
- Whether we are using parallel currency or not for that company code.

Capture DB Table and column comments when creating new Business Area/Folder

Does anyone know if it is possible to pull the DB table and column comments into Discoverer when creating new Business Area/Folders? Our developers take the time to put the information in the Db data dictionary and we would like to leverage it (reduce need for manually adding descriptions) ... has anyone done this?
If there isn't a way to automatically do it, would there be any harm in using a sql script to populate the description fields from the DB data dictionary directly into the EUL tables appropriate?
I have been searching through documentation and forums for information - with no luck at this point.

You can add column comments to views as well, as this example will show:

So you could add the comments at the view level and then refresh Discoverer.

Need to create new personnels through program

Hi All,
I was about to create new personnels with external number range, and updating several infotypes(Actions, Org.***, Personal data, Per.Ids, Education, CPF..like many).
Input data for all infotypes will be provided in a text file)
I have assumtions like:
Should not use BDC to update infotypes.
Should not commit database even one infotype.
Problem:
I am trying to make use of HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to create infotypes one by one.
But when i am trying to create infotype '0000' which is to be created first, it is returning an error message "Personnel number not yet assigned".
I know the other function module 'HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA',
But it will commit by default.
If any one have an idea to solve this issue, Please reply me ASAP.

Creating new business area from external database over dblink

Hi all,
I have the following configuration,
ORCL - Database containing the EUL
The EUL owner is BI_ADMIN.
ADG - Database containing the objects and data
There is a database link from ORCL to ADG using the username BI_ADMIN.
Steps to recreate problem
1. I connect to the EUL in ORCL
2. click on the "Create a new Business area" button
3. ensure that "on-line dictionary" is selected, then click on next.
4. select the appropriate db_link from drop-down list.
5. select user scott from list of users
6. click on optionss button, and "tick" public tables option. Then click OK button.
7. click next button
8. click on user scott in available box.
It is at this point that i have a problem, no objects in the scott schema are displayed for selection.
If i create a new user in database ADG ,along with a new object in newly created schema and i follow the steps 1 - 9 detailed above, substituting scott with
the new user i created, the object i created appears in the available box.
I would appreciate it if anybody can tell me what i'm doing wrong.

I'm wondering whether you might have a schema in the local database with the same name as the one you are trying to pull from across the database link. You will need to do a little workaround to get around this if this is your scenario.

Create new Personnel Request

Hi, I'm trying to create a New Personnel Request and after i select one, i get this error:----

1) I've already tried to test ADS and its not working. I get a message like this: ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing d(200101)
Message no. FPRUNX001.
2) The form i try to work with is an interactive one, and its called Request for internal promotion, I'm working at MSS EHP 4.
3) I'm working with SAP Standarnd.

my requirements is to implement shift planning per personnel area not organization unit!
i have created profile for object type IZ(personnel area) instead of O(organization unit.
the question is what is the relationship type and evaluation path??

Hi,
There are plenty of entries that have to be maintained during Personnel Area maintenance. One of them is assignment to a country grouping. Probably this entry is missing for you.
The best practice when you create new personnel area is to copy it from existing one. So I suggest you to do the same - copy the one that you already have to the new ones. Then you will save a lot of time.

Use the standard idoc Message Type HRMD_A for master data and then you can included the following code in FILTER_VALUES_SET method of the BADI implementation by T code BD64

Go to IMG-->Enterprise Structure >Definition>Human Resourse Management-->Personnel Areas( Create Your Personnel Area here) Then to Assign Follow the below steps...
Steps to Assign PA to CC
Go to IMG-->Enterprise Structure >Assignment>Human Resource Management-->Assignment of Personnel Area to Company Code.

Go to SPRO --> enterprise structure --> Definition --> Human Resource --> create Personnel Area. Here you will have a copy button. Try and copy a pre created Personnel area which is available in all standard SAP and personalise it by giving your own personnel area no. This way all the back end tables developed by SAP for that particular country grouping will also get copied. Note: Please change the company address and name details once the copy function is done.
PSA are created for each PA's. Here also you can use the copy function.

Creation of new MRP Areas.

While creating new MRP areas am facing problem like "ERROR IN CUSTOMIZING:MRP AREA 1002 IN PLANT 1002 DOES NOT EXIST.
But I am creating MRP areas for another plant-1003.
I didnt understand thatwhy this error is coming and unable to save.
Can any body tell me how to slove this problem.

New Depreciation Area in Asset Master Data, for assets under construction.

Hi,
The issue is relating to New Depreciation area. We have created new Depreciation area as 80=IFRS. We had followed three steps
1. Create Depreciation area via OADB.
2. Activate Depreciation area via OAYZ.
3. Automatic opening of new depreciation are via AFBN and program RAFABNEW :-
3.1 u2013 Indicator: Leave values initial = ticked. Set this indicator if you want to open the newly created depreciation area without any values i.e. blank.
In this we have find that the old assets value has been copied. But when we are doing internal order settlement through KO88 i.e. from pre-cap to AUC we are not finding new Depreciation area 80=IFRS in AUC. We had checked in AW01N.
Letu2019s assume that creating a new deprecation area is normally not required since these assets are not depreciated. But During the final settlement, the new depreciation area should also automatically supplied with values from the reference depreciation area from the AUC(assets under construction) in the completed assets. But we doesnu2019t find any values of in Dep Key = 80 IFRS for final assets.
In Assets Class of AUC we had used Investmnet Measure as Status of AUC.
Kindly provide solution for the same.

Check Transfer Variant 5 (under Transactions->Intercompany Asset Transfers->Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers->Define Transfer Variants):
5     Investment measure settlement
Your Transfer Method is most likely 1 now (without transfer to dependant areas), change it to:
4     Gross method with transfer of values to dependent areas
This should help.

HR mini master-Personnel area change

How can we configure to change the personnel area in HR mini master record if an employee changes site?
I tried in PA30 and PA40 but not able to change the same.

The previous and new personnel areas are assigned to different country
groupings (MOLGA)
or
The organizational assignment (feature IVWID) and the employee have
different infotype view indicators.
System response
The organizational reassignment is rejected.
Procedure
Check the attributes of the personnel areas, the settings in feature
IVWID, and the employee's infotype view indicator in the Payroll Status
infotype (transaction SE16, table PA0003, field VIEKN).
