Create pdf chrome extension problems

My os is Win 8.1
My product is Acrobat XI with all current updates as of 11-25-2013
I use the lastest version of Chrome browser
I have used the pdf extension on the browser at least 7 times.
1st time nothing happened
2nd time it worked perfectly
3rd through 6th time it did nothing what soever.
I went into Chrome and looked at the settings. It was enabled.
I rebooted my computer and tried a 7th time which resulted in nothing happening.
I openned Chrome and deleted this extension thinking I would browse Chrome extensions and re install.
I was not able to find this extension and started reading in the Acrobat forums.
I did as suggested and closed Chrome and open Acrobat and click repair.
This resulted in no change what so ever. I have also noticed that the disscussions I read the folks with
this same issue have not been able to resolve the problem.
I believe in Acrobat and enjoy the use of it. This chrome browser extension function was great the one time it worked for me.
I am open for help....now that I can't even make the extension show up on my brower again.
Thanks,
Jerry

  • Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF Chrome Extension Doesn't Work

The extension was installed when I installed Acrobat Pro XI and worked fine until Chrome was updated to version 29 or 30. The extension is enabled, the drop down works, but it doesn't do anything when you click on the drop down choices.

    Hi Ajlan Huda,
The error is encounterd when I am logged into an https (Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer) website.  To try this on your own you need to logon to an secure website.  I am assuming that you might have an amazon.com, gmail.com, facebook.com, linkedin.com, or some other secure online account that you can try this with.  It will say https in the address bar and have a green padlock indicating that secured content is displayed.  I will show the workflow attempting to convert a linkedin.com profile as an example:
I then click on the convert to Adobe PDF toolbar / extension in Chrome to convert the webpage to a PDF.
The Conversion to PDF progress pops up and looks like the progress cursor might stutter or restart a few times:
The output of the PDF shows a logon screen instead of the secure webpage content:
I also checked the "Webpage Conversion Settings" and "HTML Conversion Settings".  Changing the 'Embed Mulitmedia Content' or 'Disable Multimedia Capture' do not seem to fix the problem
Thanks for your help with looking into this, I appreciate it.

  • Using Muse to create a Chrome extension/app

    Hello,
We're creating a touchscreen for a tradeshow using Muse.  Using Chrome in "Presentation Mode" the site looks good, functions correctly, and fills the monitor.  The problem is that when dragging a finger across the touchscreen it starts highlighting the images.  As a workaround I've been trying to create a Chrome extension/app with the Muse generated files, however for some reason the buttons aren't working.
    - Does anyone have any ideas about why the buttons aren't working within the context of a Chrome extension/app?
    - Are there other alternatives for running an HTML 5 site fullscreen in a kiosk type mode so that it functions like an application as opposed to a website?
I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide.
    Andrew

Cheers - it's really an initial looksee. I've done a bit of
website design up to database stuff using mySQL / PHP, and some
basic flash stuff, so I get collared with any web related stuff -
but I enjoy it (do a bit of freelance stuff in my own time) so am
keen to develop those skills as much as i can. So my checking it
out on here is really to try to keep me a step or two ahead of
anything we might look to do.
So I'm really coming to it knowing that Flash can do it, but
not sure where to start with - on the one hand it's reinventing the
wheel of something like the non Flash Multimap, but on the other we
need to start somewhere, and we came across an interesting article
in a cartographic journal about the site above that did it in
house, on the cheap, and with a good user experience (ie smooth
zooming, rather than redrawing) just using Flash.
I don't really know much about action script - so if you know
of any good tutorial type things kicking around the net anywhere
that might achieve in the first instance that exercise of having a
big map image load in the background with a limited area that could
be navigated around, that would be a great start.

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install for Acrobat 10 Pro

I have Acrobat 10 Pro and the Chrome extension to convert web pages to PDF does not appear in Chrome.  I tried repair installation from the Help menu in Acrobat and it still did not resolve this problem.  The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering if it's deactivated.  I am using Chrome Version 36.0.1985.143 m.
I would appreciate the links and steps I need to take in order to get the Adobe Convert to Webpage Chrome extension to be visible and functional on my Chrome toolbar and in my extensions list. The PDFMaker shows up in Internet Explorer.  I do not use Firefox.
I have already tried disabling all of my other Chrome extensions and run a repair of Acrobat via Actions.
I tried uninstalling Google Chrome, restarted my computer, downloaded the latest Chrome installer, installed Chrome, and launched Acrobat and repair Acrobat.
I'm totally at a loss at this point.
    Can you please help?
Thank you for your kind assistance!

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install (Acrobat XI)

When I installed Acrobat XI, the Chrome extension to convert webpages to PDF does not install or appear in Chrome. I tried repair installation from Help menu of Acrobat, it still did not resolve the question. The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering its deactivated.
    Any help would be appreciated

I think there might be some confusion about what you are asking since I think that the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension is only available for Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11) and I don't think that you will find it in the version 10 directory (although I could be mistaken since I do not have version 10).  One you update to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11), and also apply the latest updates to Google Chrome, then the extension should be enabled.  I am running Google Chrome version 33 and have Adobe Acrobat Pro version 11.0.6.70 and the extension works alright for converting basic webpages.  The Adobe installation directory that contains a copy of the extension depends on your operating system and installation and whether or not you have a 64-bit machine.  For example I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I was able to find a copy of the "WCChromeExtn.crx" extension file in the directory:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Browser\WCChromeExtn"
On the other hand if you are asking how to install the "WCChromeExtn.crx" Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension without updating Adobe Acrobat Pro, that is a much more advanced procedure.  If you have Windows 7 typically certain file types and locations that will not be indexed so you may not find what you are looking for with Windows search.  That is why someone suggested using a third party search indexer to find the extension file.  Another person suggested extracting the file from the Adobe update, and I also think that is the way to go.  However the method that was described previously is very complicated and uses a lot of unnecessary scripting for what you really need.  I propose that you download the latest update directly from Adobe and then extract the extension from the update file.  Here's how to do that in Windows:
    1. Download the latest update file from Adobe (e.g. "AcrobatUpd11006.msp")
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
    2. If you are interested in some background on Windows Installer files, check out these links and read about MSP files and extracting resources, otherwise go to the next step:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/basics.html#installer-file-ty pes
    http://www.jsware.net/jsware/msicode.php5
    3. Rename the incremental update MSP file extension to CAB (e.g. from "AcrobatUpd11006.msp" to "AcrobatUpd11006.cab")
    4. Use an archive utility such as WinRAR, WinZip, or 7-Zip to open the CAB file and extract the "WCChromeExtn.crx" CRX extension file
    5. Drag and drop the extension CRX file onto open Google Chrome window extension page to install and configure (chrome://extensions/)
There are some other forum topics and a blog post that deals with some installation issues with the Google Chrome extension:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1332770
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1165998
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tip-google-chrome-the-adobe-acrobat-create-pdf-extension/
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tag/chrome/
I hope that this might help you with getting the extension installed.
I currently am having some issues with the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension for Google Chrome when I try to convert secure https webpages, the output of the PDF converter does not retain my logon information, and does not convert the secure webpage.  The resulting output of the converted https webpage is either a logon screen or a blank pdf with only the URL listed at the bottom.  I hope that this might get fixed with an update or if anyone else might know of a workaround or solution.  Thanks.

  • Chrome extension claims does not have latest ver of Acrobat despite CC

Trying to use the Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF Chrome extension on up-to-date Yosemite with CreativeCloud - extension gives "Unknown Error" and claims computer doesn't have the 'right' version of Acrobat: "A supported version of Acrobat could not be found. Please install or update to Acrobat 11.0.09 or higher to use the Create PDF extension." even though I have CC installed and up-to-date so I do have the "highest" version. First time trying to use extension.

This is just what I'm getting when I try to create PDFs from SharePoint Web pages. We store major resources on SharePoint, I need to create PDFs for public disclosure requests. I don't think aspx Web pages are compatible with PDF, or is there some way to do this? Please say there is.

I have the same problem for a couple of months, and I had to use a plug-in in Firefox to print a web page. I really need the web page address in the footer for reference purposes which Chrome print (Ctrl+P) does not produce.
The error message is: A supported version of Acrobat could not be found. Please install or update Acrobat to 11.0.9 or higher."
After updating to Acrobat 11.0.10 and repairing the installation the problem did not go away.
Deleting and re-installing the extension did not help either.

  • Google Chrome Create PDF extension (WCChromeExtn)

    Acrobat Pro 11.0.07
    Chrome Version 37.0.2062.103 m
    Windows 7
Problem: The Create PDF extension was here in Google Chrome and worked well. Recently sometimes it is not worked so I removed it (and was thinking that will re-install it) and hopefully it will work properly again. But nowhere I can find it or re-install it again.
    What I tried:
    - Re install Adbobe (completely uninstall Acrobat using Abode cleaner tool)
    - Re install Chrome
    - Re install Chrome then perform "repair acrobat installation"
    - Drag and drop WCChromeExtn.crx (from ...\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Browser\WCChromeExtn folder) file to chrome://extensions => Chrome says: "Attempted to downgrade extension" and not allowed it to be installed (also tried on developer mode/ load unpacked extension => no luck)
    Any suggestions?

Ok I tried uninstall chrome again and this time I selected "...delete browser data" and re-install it, the extension is here.
[(1) uninstall Chrome; (2) reinstall Chrome; (3) chose to repair acrobat; (4) reboot; (5) open chrome; (6) choose to enable Create PDF extension.]
but it is not working anymore (like before I removed the extension), click to it nothing happened (Firefox's is still working well)

There is no problem with either internet explorer or mozilla firefox at all. They are automatically plugined by adobe install.

    Hi
    For Firefox:
    1. Please click on the below icon in Firefox and click on "Customize" option.
    2. A screen similar to this will open:
    3. If you are able to see the Acrobat - Create PDF icon here, then you can drag and drop it to the above toolbar and click on "Exit Customize".
If you are not able to see the add-on, can you please share the screenshot of the same window?
    For Chrome:
Can you please tell which Windows OS version you are using?

  • Problem with creating pdf from Microsoft Publisher 2013

We are having problems in creating pdfs from Microsoft Publisher2010- When the function 'Adobe PDF' is selected and 'Print' is clicked on nothing happens. The progress bar just sits there for several minutes without creating a pdf. We have to click on cancel and when this is done this crashes Microsft Publisher.
I have repaired this using the repair facility in Acrobat 9. I have also uninstalled Acrobat 9 and reinstalled this.
I have also uninstalled Adobe Reader XI and reinstalled Adobe Reader 9.
Before uninstalling Acrobat I also ran the updates but this didnt help either.
This is on a Windows 7 PC (64-bit)
    Adobe Acroabt 9 Pro Extended
    Microsoft Publisher 2010.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

MS Publisher 2010 is not supported by the Acrobat 9 Family; and the PDFMaker extension for Publisher has been removed completely from the Acrobat XI Family, so upgrading won't help either. Sorry!

    Hi ,
There is an option of embedding index for faster search while converting email to a PDF .
However I am not sure that will serve your purpose or not .
I would recommend you to get in touch with Microsoft support as well .
Meanwhile I'll work on it and get back to you in case I get a desired solution .
