Create recent call as contact in a group?

I know we can use the number of a recent call to create a new contact or add to an existing contact. I also know that we can navigate to a group and add a contact to that group. How can we combine 'create contact from recent' and 'add to group' without requiring a sync with iTunes? It would be good if Contact edit could also add/change the associated group(s).

Thanks for the reply. Since I was in the recent calls list, the group added to was the default instead of the desired. Hopefully, someone will see this thread who can update the iOS software to allow editing the group of a contact. It would certainly improve usability.

If you go to the Recent section of your iPhone, there is a little blue "i" with a blue circle around it, tap on it
It will give you the option to "create a new contact"

The contact in which the photo does appear (along with the contact's name as well) is one that I added myself. I have photos added for many of the people in my Contact List, but neither their photo nor their name appears to me whenever they call or text me.
I know how to add a photo to a contact's information within my Contact List. I need to know how I can make that photo (or even the contact's name) appear whenever I have an incoming call/text from them. What I am seeing is just their phone number, and I do not know everyone's phone number well enough to recognize from whom I am getting a call/text. It would be much easy if their photo or name appeared instead.

Leave the group call * recent call

Dear all,
some of my co*workers made a group and added me in this list. i left this group call. when i sign in skype from another computer i saw that i have a recent call unread message. This group call seems to be unread. I open it but don't see anything. I can not delete it from recent calls and it shows all the time on my tab that there is 1 message unread. it is annoying. Please someone help me to fix this problem.
P.S. ın recent calls tab i righ click on the mouse on this group call, there is no option to delete it. There is only option to add these people in my contact list and the conversation...

The person hosting a group call is the one who called the group to start the meeting.

Contacts created from recent calls not showing up in Contact application

recently added contact from recent calls section. Tried to find contact in the Contact applicaton and it wasn't there. I was able to find it by searching the phone and the name came up when I received a call from the contact again. How do I get it to appear in the Contact application for easier access? Do I have to create the contact in the CONTACT APPLICATION for it to appear?

After calling Verizon, here is a fix that worked for me.
1.) Look at your contacts information on the iPhone. If your phone numbers are not formatted with the parentheses and dashes, and are just a string of numbers like this: 1234567890, it likely means something went afoul in the initial sync. This is a good indicator that the following will work.
2. BACKUP YOUR IPHONE ON ITUNES before you go any farther. You may eject the iPhone at this point or leave it connected. I left mine connected to my desktop.
3. Then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. You will receive a prompt or two to make certain this is what you want. Proceed.
4. Let the Reset process conclude. It may take a couple minutes or so.
5. You will have to go through the re-activation process afterwards. Slug through it.
6. When all that is finished, reconnect your iPhone (if you disconnected it after backup).
7. When asked, select "Restore iPhone from a Backup". Let the process finish.
8. Now, check your contacts. If instead of seeing a line of numbers for your phone entries, you see a number properly formatted like this: (123) 456-7890, then you have likely solved your problem.
9. Try calling your iPhone from a phone that is in your contacts list and see what happens.
10. If this doesn't work, you will likely have to call Verizon or Apple. The Verizon tech support agent said that the issue has been sent to Apple for resolution. It may be something amiss in the initial install of iOS to the Verizon phones. Who knows, but this is defnitely a software issue of some type.

Perchè i contatti creati da telefonate ricevute non si memorizzano? Because the contacts created by calls received are not stored?

Sono proprietario di un Iphone4 da un paio di mesi ed ho notato che i contatti memorizzati da chiamate ricevute non entrano nell'archivio CONTATTI .
Cerco di spiegare meglio il problema, indicando qui di seguito la procedura addotta:
1) ricevo una telefonata (o in alternativa compongo un numero dal tastierino numerico)
2) dopo aver terminato la chiamata, voglio memorizzare il numero creando un nuovo contatto
3) dalla funzione RECENTI del telefono, clicco sulla freccetta BLU che c'è in corrispondenza del numero da "memorizzare"
4) scelgo l'opzione "CREA CONTATTO" e compilo i dati richiesti (COGNOME, NOME, ecc.)
5) concludo con il taso "FINE" memorizzando il contatto.
6) ritorno nei RECENTI e trovo il numero sostituito dal Nominativo creato
Se ora vado a cercare su CONTATTI il nominativo non riesco più a trovarlo.
Qualcuno sa come trasferire il nuovo contatto?

I have a Iphone4 for a couple of months and I've noticed that the contacts stored from incoming calls do not come in the archive CONTACTS.
I try to explain the problem and the procedure used:
1) I get a call (or alternatively I composed a number from the numeric keypad)
2) after finishing the call, I want to store the number creating a new contact
3) using the function RECENT calls, I click on BLU arrow next to the number to "store"
4) choose the option "CREATE CONTACT" and compile the requested data (LAST name, FIRST name, etc.).
5) conclude with the icone "END" storing the contact.
6) return to RECENT and I find the number replaced by Name created
Now, If I try to look for the new name in the CONTACTS I can't find it.
Does anyone know how to transfer the new contact?

Are the contact details in your contacts app, the phone app uses the contact app to put names against telephone numbers.

HT201394 Why are some of my contacts randomly showing as 'no caller id' in my recent calls list?

I updated to ios 8.0.2 yesterday and now when I go into my recent caller list lots of the numbers are showing up as 'No Caller ID' even thought they are in my contacts list, were showing up correctly before I updated, and when you go into the 'No Caller Id' number it shows the contact details. It isn't even uniform as to which contacts are affected with the same number sometimes showing correctly and other times showing no caller id. Is anyone else having this problem and can anyone tell me how I can fix this? So far I am not loving ios 8.0.2 one bit!!

I'm also having this problem on my iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2 installed.
In case it helps anyone to see the problem this is what my Recents list looks like in the Phone app (I have greyed out the two names it did randomly recognize). There does not appear to be any coherent pattern to this. All of the 'No Caller ID's listed are from people in my Contacts, as you can see it recognizes that they are from a mobile, work or other number and when you hit the i for more info the person's full contact details are displayed as per their entry in my Contacts app.
Restarting the phone has not solved it, neither has leaving the app open for a while. I know this is an old photo but it is still happening randomly with some new calls.

Contact Names in Recent Call List

When someone calls me their name does not appear on screen or in recent call list. Only their number shows. When I call someone by tapping on their number from contact list, only their number shows on the screen and then in recent call list.

If you want to try it out, do the following?
Dial a number from your iPhone Keypad. After cutting the call, try to save the number you just dialled to your contacts by choosing the new contact option. You will see that you will not be able to key in the name of your new contact.

Works fine for me.
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

With recent calls , is it possible to save certain calls without saving them to contacts and delete the ones i dont want?

with the recent calls is the a way to save certain calls without saving them as contacts, and delete the others that i dont need? I am a truck driver and i need only certain calls during the day and if i could delete only the ones that arent needed for the day and keep the others that would make the day run smoother. Each is different and when the day is finished then i would delete the ones i needed for the day and start all over again. Is this possible?

I think you would have to reinstall the keys seeing that if you format the computer all the data is gone. Even though you backed up that data you never know what can happen when you try to reinstall certain apps. Not sure what method you can go by, you should run a diagnostics test to see how you computer is doing internally.

Look in Mail > Preferences > Composing tab > If you want all the email addresses to show, check "When sending to a group, show all member addresses". If unchecked, just the groupname should appear.
If it still doesn't work then review the email addresses for each of the group members looking for errors in format.
Also, clean up the list in previous recipients in Mail > Window > Previous Recipients.

Problem Creating a contact in a group

HHas anyone else noticed that while you can create a contact within a Contact Group in the Contacts app if you go to the Phone app and select Contacts and the try to add a new contact to a Group which has been selected as the active group that new contact is NOT created as part of the Group. It is added as part of the All Contacts group. This occurs on iPhone 5C running IOS 8.1.1. Seems to be a bug.

Youdidn't read the issue James. I can do exactly what I described, if I go to the contact app. Select Groups and click on the desired group, the click the + to add a new contact and that contact is added to the group.if I try the same procedure in the phone app and selecting Contacts the same steps do not return the same result, the new contact is added to the All Contacts Group, not the selected Group.
