Create Recovery Disc For Windows 7

Hi,
I have HP Pavillion p6310y desktop with Windows 7 (not sure 32 or 64 or whatever)
My computer got virus infection. These virus are located in very low level of hard drive. Also there are other virus. Virus supporters want to remove these virus, but they are afraid my computer may be unoperable due to virus location level. They ask me to get rescue or recovery disc for the computer
Now I searched to create rescue disc via link http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01867124&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc... , but I couldn't find "recovery manager". I do see recovery via control panel, but couldn't find a way to bring a image like link shown.
Anyone can help me to create the recovery or rescue disc for the hp?
Thanks.

OK... time to kill two stones with one bird...
Q: How I know my computer is window 7 32-bit or 64-bit?
A: I previously posted this "Windows 7 64b A1NAv6PrA1 + Supp 7 Recovery Kit" which states 64bit. Additionally, here is a link to your computer's specs... click on the "+" under "Software" at the bottom of the page.
Q: If virus is located in lower level of hard drive or computer, then try to remove them, it is likely to damage the computer and hard drive?
A: A virus, almost any virus is incapable of causing physical damage to your computer. The only damage they cause is to your data, installed programs, OS, and maybe your wallet. All it takes to remove most viruses is to format the drive.

  • How to create recovery disk for windows 8.1 after update from windows 8.

My laptop came with windows 8 and i have recovery discs for windows 8.
Now i've updated to windows 8.1, so i want to creat recovery discs for windows 8.1.
So in future when i use recovery discs i dont have to download windows 8.1 again.
Please tell me if there is any way to do this.....

As colakid posted, in Windows 8 the ability to create a recovery CD/DVD has gone. Your options are to:
    create a recovery USB; or
    create a recovery image.
    Recovery USB
Colakid's post talks you through how to make a recovery USB: from control panel, choose Recovery, then Create a Recovery Drive, and follow the prompts.
However, the 'recovery USB' can be a bit misleading. When the wizard starts, there is an option to 'copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive'. If you do not check this option, you will still need installation media to reset your PC.
Since you have upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, you will probably not be able to check this option, as it will be greyed out (like it is in the picture in Colakid's post).
If you go ahead and create the USB anyway, you will be able to boot to it, but you won't be able to reinstall Windows unless you have the installation media (or possibly a system image, though I haven't tried that).
    Recovery image
The recovery image is an image of your computer that Windows will use when you select the 'refresh my pc' option. You can create a recovery image using the recimg.exe tool.
First, open an elevated command prompt (type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter).
Next, create the recovery image by typing:
    recimg /createimage [path]
Where [path] is the folder you want the image in, eg C:\Recovery. You cannot set the file name - it will always be called CustomRefresh.wim.
Let it run its course. When it's done, you can check that it is the current recovery image by typing
    recimg /showcurrent
It's important to keep in mind what a recovery image contains. It will have your Windows system files (in their current state), and the desktop apps you have installed (so it makes sense to do this after a fresh install of Windows). It will
not backup any Metro apps or user files, because these are not deleted during a system refresh. If you want a complete backup of everything on your computer the way it is now, you should make take a complete system image (which
can be done from the File History settings in control panel - at the bottom left there will be a 'System Backup Image' option - or you can do it using any other backup software like Ghost or Acronis).
In my case, I created the recover image straight after upgrading to Windows and it was about 6 GB.
Prepare/Create and register an recovery partition, so the option Copy the Recovery Partition becomes available in the recovery drive UI  application.
In elevated command run> RECIMG -CREATEIMAGE C:\REFRESHIMAGE<
This will create a new custom.wim in a folder Refreshimage.
Now lets get ready to register the path of the image, so our create recovery drive option(COPY THE RECOVERY PARTITION FROM THE PC TO THE RECOVERY DRIVE) becomes available.
    >  In the folder you created there will be a> custom.wim<
    change it to>INSTALL.wim<
    > Create a folder In Cd/directory using Elevated command> mkdir c:\Win8.1-Recovery,>
    Win81-Recovery<.
    > Copy the  INSTALL.WIM. Put in the Win81-recovery folder created.
    > Run in elevated commad>REAGENTC /SetOSImage /Path C:\Win81-Recovery\INSTALL.WIM /Index 1<
Do not copy the arrows if using copy and paste, that is my way of pointing out lines of code
Information provided by the link below, thanks Keith. I simplified the process for easy following and added my own tweak from trial and error for the install.

... BTW, when you perform the - Weekly "Macrium - Image Backups", do you backup to a local USB cable connected External Usb Drive or wireless wifi connected to a NAS Drive ?
I have a Verbatim 2TB external USB 3.0 drive plugged into the PC.  It's used for both my weekly image backups as well as my nightly data backups.  I have one of these on EACH machine in my environment, for backups local to that machine.  I also use them on machines I build for friends and family, as everybody needs a backup system for "priceless data".
Actually, to be a bit more complete, my "data" backups consists of two parts: (1) 1st-of-the-month FULL backups of all my data, and (2) nightly INCREMENTAL backups which handles anything created/changed in the past 24 hours.  Thus a "backup set" consists of the beginning FULL backup coupled with the ever-growing throughout-the-month set of nightly INCREMENTAL backups.
NovaBACKUP can handle all of this if you need to recover something, so you yourself don't need to know exactly which backup file your file is located on.  You simply identify the folder/file(s) you wish to recover, and the AS-OF date you want for that file (with "as of the latest version available" being the default).  If you want to recover an older version than the most current version, you simply slide a GUI time-slider backwards until you arrive at the as-of date you desire.  NovaBACKUP then figures out where the most current version is AS OF THE DESIRED DATE, and accesses that one-or-more backup files in order to complete your task.
I retain multiple "backup sets" (going back 4 complete months), so I can recover any folder/file(s) I had available on any specific night during the past 4 months.  Most commonly of course it's typically "get me the most current version available as of last night", but just in case that version is corrupt or I truly want an earlier version, I can get it easily.

    Hi BH,
I have read the link you suggested and tried to find HP Recovery Manager at my notebook.
    1) I typed Start > Search > "Recovery" but it was not installed.
    2) I  ran the HP Software Setup to check recommended and optional HP applications. HP Recovery Manager was not there.
    3) I downloaded HP Recovery Manager for Windows 7 and ran the installation
    I accepted the default folder.
    C:\SWSetup\sp45415
It showed an installation form for a while and then completed with no message.
    4) I repeated action (1) but no HP Recovery Manager.
    5) I checked uninstall menu but no HP Recovery Manager.
Please let me know what to do next ?

  • HELP!!!!!! Need to create recovery disc for hdx laptop in Vista

I have been told by HP that I can create a recovery disc right from my computer.  Really ...... please someone tell me where and how.  Right now there is nothing wrong with my PC but I have been stupid and forgot to create it previously.
As an added note, so I can vent, my service pak ran out last month, which HP did not remind me of with an email like they alwasy do, and the guy I spoke to was no help with that.  He said there was nothing I could purchase now.  Also, I was told by more than one person that I had lifetime chat support online ...... well that's a lie too I found out.  So, they will not help me at all now!!!!!!!!!  The guy also told me the reason I did not probably get an email was becasue the support for this laptop ended in August and it will become obsolete this coming August.  That is probably the reason he said.  Wow why did I buy a HP computer and not a Dell.  When I had my Dell I called like more than 10 years after buying the computer and received phone based technical help on it still and no I did not have an extended warranty at the time.  They gave lifetime technical assistant via phone.  Looks like I may have to switch back.  Sorry HP but my experience has been less than good.

This document should help with the how to part of making the recovery disks.

  • Cannot use created recovery discs for Satellite A350-134

Emm I really hope you can help me.
The Notebook said that you have to create the Recovery Disk by yourself and thats what I did ( on 2 Cds)
So i wanted to reinstall my Notebook and put in the first cd and booted from CD. So i came into the Menu.
Then after a while it asked me to put in the second CD and I did it. Then it said there was a error copying the last 2 files needed.
So now i cant create the Recovery Disk again because I already started the reinstalling. now i have a few questions
What can i do generally ? Because I really dont want to buy for 35 euros a new Recovery Disk :S
I thank everyone who helps me :D

If you want to have factory settings you must install recovery image from recovery disc.
If your discs dont work you must use original Toshiba recovery disc.
My opinion is that you should install Win7 32bit on this machine. I do it on friends A350 and it runs perfectly.

  • Creating Recovery DVDs for Windows 8.1

I just bought the Lenovo C560 All-in-One and it came with Windows 8.1. I was able to use the One Key Recovery to create a backup file on my hard drive, that from what I've read appears to be the same as having a recovery disk. However, I'd also like to create the back up disks on DVDs incase for some reason something happens to the file saved on the hardrive.
I open OneKey Recovery, Click on System Backup, Go to Back up to "Hard Disk or Removeable Hard Drive", then when I browse for a new location it will only display C:\ as the only option.
Is it not possible to create back up DVD's for Windows 8.1?
Also the Lenovo Solution Center is telling me to download Lenovo Rescue and Recovery, but it seems like that is only for Winows 7 and earlier. Do I need to download Rescue and Recovery or is OneKey Recovery what I need to use?
I should also say, I've browsed through this form and Lenovo's support pages, but nothing I found seemed to be for systems that came with Windows 8.1. The posts I read all seemed to be about poeple who had upgraded to 8.1 from another OS.

Windows 8 will allow you to make backups/system images: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHjRZdL_kUs
OKR will only recognized non-partitioned external HDDs 2 TB or less. If you have a 4 TB drive or a partitioned device then, OKR won't recognize the drive.
FYI: Trucrypt folder counts as a partition.
You should only need the OKR system.

  • "Recovery partition not found" when trying to creat recovery discs.

I received the following error message when trying to create recovery discs for the first time "recovery partition not found"  HP G61 401SA Notebook and it is a couple of years old and has windows 7 as th OS.
I specifically purchased DVD-R discs for the disc creation, which was advised from HP site was the only disc suitable.
Am I doing something incorrect or is there an issue?
Is this why I am unable to also create a back up - are the two things related?

One more thing, could you advise on how much space the recovery might be approximately - I will need to make sure a USB has enough memory available. Take another look at the disk management window. The partition sizes are visible in the descriptions. My HP loaner has a large recovery partition at >20GB. That mean I had to use a 32GB usb flash drive Most others are smaller and a 16GB usb flash drive will suffice.
