Jeyanthi,
What word you didnt understood in the message posted by "huyu"
the command to create a shortcut 1234.lnk under C:\, which point to folder 1234 under D:\ is as below
<Shortcut.exe Path>shortcut /F:"C:\1234.lnk" /A:c /T:\1234
<Shortcut.exe Path>The command completed successfully.
Why i say this because ,i coud run the same sucesfully see the image attached.
Just in case if you havent understood, the "C:\1234.lnk" is the "path" of the shortcut file and "1234" is the "name" of the shortcut file (this file gets generated automatically and you just have to specify the name and the path)
"D:\1234" is the "folder path" to which you would like to assign or create the shortcut. Hope you get it.
Also the <Shortcut.exe Path> is the "path" where you have downloaded and stored the "Shortcut.exe" in your local machie
In the above example i have created the shortcut for the folder "1" in "C:\" drive with the shortcut name as "4" in "c:\"

  • I like to creat shortcuts on my desktop for daily site visits. I used to be able to select it from my mouse cursur but cannot do it now why?

    If I will be visiting a site on regular basis when I used to hit the right part of my mouse where Back,Reload,Bookmark etc was shown there also was a "Create A Shortcut on Desktop" option. It is not there any longer and want to know how can I get that back?
    I do NOT care for the Bookmark or Save feature.

    My guess is that they recently changed how the videos work. I logged in on my MacBook and the stream worked fine, but it is Flash content in a JW Player video player. From what I see on the website. This video player works with html5 as well as Flash so I'm not sure why it isn't working, unless the site has not updated the content for html5 and is only using Flash right now. But you should get the message on the iPad that the content is in Flash and can't be viewed on the iPad.
    I tried it with three different browsers identifying as mobile and as desktop browsers and I get the same results as you no matter what I do. So my assumption is that the site content was recently changed and it has to be updated. But that is just a guess.
    The message about the website having issues when I used iCab Mobile and identified as a desktop browser. The issue has to be on their end.

  • Trackpad mouse moving on its own and creating new folder on desktop

    This stared a few weeksd ago, I've lost control of my macbook pro as my mouse has a mind of its own.
    The laptop barely(or even not at all) responds to my control.  It's like there was somebody else controlling my mouse, my keyboard works fine however.  The guy hacking me looked at my mailbox, dropped a few things from the dock, made a new folder on the desktop and opened my photos.  I've tried everything including  turning off wi-if, my reuter and under "system preferences" unclicked "sharing" of anything. I also took it to the genius bar to have my laptop wiped and updated to OS X Mountain Lion.
    Last week, my mouse again started to move on its own and created a new folder on my destop.
    I don't know if anyone has the same experience...and if so, please let me know what is going on and is there a solution?
    Thank you

    Woah, I just got this really sketchy email a few hours later. It's a bounce back from an invalid address, but it includes the previous few messages too... these guys are definitely speaking in some sort of code.
    I pasted it on this google doc for your inspection, pretty crazy. Do you think it could be related to this cursor moving incident? Did I get remotely hacked or something?

  • Create a folder in desktop with flex application?

    Hi,
    i want to create and save a folder in my computer using my flex application, so is there an actionScript function to do this?
    Thank you,

    I do not believe this is possible to do with a browser based application.
    But, if you run your app in AIR you can do use the Flash.filesystem
    class to create a directory:

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New\
    You say you want to change the key ‘New’, somehow I suspect that ‘New’ is a reserved word and would not be used as a key name, perhaps it should be New Folder.
    However, if you want to add an entry named New, it can be done by right-clicking ContextMenuHandlers and choosing Key (if it is to have sub entries) or any of the other types, e.g. String Value (you have to know this otherwise it probably won't work). If
    it doesn’t work, it can be deleted by right-clicking it and choosing delete.
    You cannot mess up anything by adding an entry, but it is advisable to backup the registry or create a system restore point before making any changes.

  • Push a simple shortcut to users desktop

    I am trying to push a shortcut to an Access database to users desktops using NAL. What is the procedure for this. Everything I try fails with a D01C error. I am using Zenworks 6.5 SP2.

    Try using the "File Copy" portion of the app to copy the LNK files instead
    of trying to make them.

  • Good morning, i would like to know how to take pictures from iphoto and put them in a folder on desktop

    Good morning: would like to know how to take pictures from my iphoto and put them in a folder on my desktop

    To take photos from iPhoto and put them onto a folder on Desktop, first create a folder on Desktop. Right-click on Desktop and create a new folder.
    Then, open iPhoto, and you have two ways to export photos:
    1. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key (or go to Edit menu > Select All, if you want to copy all photos), and then, drag them to the folder on Desktop.
    2. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key, go to File menu > Export, and follow the steps.
    You can choose the one you prefer

  • I have created a folder that I can now Save to and view in Photoshop (CS4) but cannot find in spotlight or any other way on my mac. PLEASE HELP!!

    I use Photoshop CS4, I do not think this problem is related to PS... I am not exactly sure what happened. I created a folder on desktop, think I changed name of it. Now it is not on desktop. I know the exact name of the folder and have tried doing a spotlight search and cannot locate it AS WELL as searching for a file by name EXACT as name is. However if I go into Photoshop I can open or "save as" and open the folder and save as a "recent location" and the folder and its contents are found no problem... however cannot see the pathway to know where the folder is located on my mac.. PLEASE HELP!!! Been using photoshop and my mac for MANY years and NEVER had a problem like this... I have a photo client awaiting their pictures to be burned on a cd and mailed to them!!
    THANK YOU!!
    Laurie

    Try this. Open one of your files. The window that contains your picture is named at the top. Command click on the name and you'll see the entire path starting with its name and then moving to the folder, the folder it is contained in, etc all the way to down to the hard drive volume name. This should tell you where to find the folder.

  • Thunderbird install hangs at Create Shortcut stage on 64-bit Win 8.1

    I am trying to install Thunderbird on a brand-new HP Envy laptop. The progress bar is stuck at "Create Shortcut [folder location]". I have rebooted and re-downloaded the installation executable file. No luck. It still hangs at the same point.

    I am guessing. But it sounds like a uac issue with Windows. Try doing the install with administrator privileges.

    (Answer provided by Linda, edit the registry key, you may back up registry first because incorrect setting in registry can cause serious issue.)

  • How to create shortcut desktop icon for all users???

    Hello All,
    I want to know how to create shortcut icon for all users in windows 7. I tried C:\Users\Public but no folder for Desktop.
    Thanks

    C:\users\All users
    JS
    Hi,
    I am just wondering, what is the technically correct location to place say, a shortcut, for all users to access on their desktops on a given machine?
    Is it C:\Users\Public\Desktop ?
    Or is it C:\Users\All Users\Desktop ?
    Would it also be possible to explain the differences as well? Or paste some links to the overview of each one? I am having trouble finding anything from MS.
    Thank you.

  • Hard to create shortcuts in Users\Public\Desktop

    Hi all,
    I can't find this documented anywhere...
    When I browse to %SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Desktop in Windows Explorer, the right-click "Paste shortcut" command generates the following error message:
    Windows can't create a shortcut here.
    Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?
    In addition, the "Create shortcut" menu item is missing when I right-click -> New.
    To put shortcuts in that folder like I want, I have to create the shortcuts elsewhere and copy them over, or create the shortcuts programmatically (e.g., WshShell.CreateShortcut).
    Can anyone provide any details on this behavior?
    Thanks!
    Bill

    Hi Ronnie,
    Thanks for the reply, but I think you're misunderstanding...
    It's not a permissions problem -- I'm running an elevated Explorer window. As I said, I can copy shortcut files there (and copy and delete any other files there as well). Also, note that the following script works as well:
    var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
    var wshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.shell");
    var allUsersDesktop = wshShell.SpecialFolders.Item("AllUsersDesktop");
    var shortcutName = "Command Prompt.lnk";
    var shortcutPath = fso.BuildPath(allUsersDesktop, shortcutName);
    var wshShortcut = wshShell.CreateShortcut(shortcutPath);
    wshShortcut.TargetPath = fso.BuildPath(fso.GetSpecialFolder(1), "cmd.exe");
    wshShortcut.Save();
    The above script (save it in notepad and name 'createCmdShortcut.js') programmatically creates the shortcut without problems (of course, you have to run it from an elevated command prompt window), so as I said, it's not a permissions problem -- if it were a permissions problem, the above script would fail (and it does, if you don't run it elevated).
    The problem I'm highlighting is that the "Create shortcut" menu item doesn't work (it generates the "Windows can't create a shortcut here" message), and the right-click -> New -> Shortcut menu item is missing when you target your Windows Explorer window on the Users\Public\Desktop folder. These things work fine when I change my Explorer view to some other folder. I can't find any documented reason for this behavior.
    Regards,
    Bill
